Perfectly situated to get you into the city centre. Just a few small issues with cleanliness in some parts but would stay here again
If you’re looking for a place to stay in London, the Best Western Swiss Cottage Hotel offers the best of both worlds. In a pleasant residential area near Regents Park, you’ll enjoy peace and quiet during your stay. Yet with London’s countless attractions just a few minutes away, the sights and sounds of the capital are never far away.
This elegant Victorian townhouse is full of character and fascinating objets d’art, which add a unique charm to the hotel – including a grand piano, oil paintings and antique furniture. You can be sure your stay here will be memorable for all the right reasons.
Our hotel is right next to Swiss Cottage tube station and just a few minutes from the West End by tube or bus. The Jubilee line links us directly to Lords cricket ground, Madam Tussauds, Oxford Street, Big Ben, Wembley arena and many other attractions - so youll spend more time deciding where to go than you will getting there.
There are lots of convenient bars, bistros and brasseries around the hotel and for these reasons we have no restaurant for lunch or dinner. Instead, we provide a pleasant breakfast room that serves a range of cooked and continental items to give you the energy boost you need for a day of sightseeing.

The room is very good. There is a big bed and three small beds.
The sound insulation is not very good, the environment is good, but a bit old. The hotel does not have slippers. Can say that the price is relatively high. The service is not bad.

The hotel did not have the booked room type of a double bed plus 2 sofa beds. The information on Trip.com was wrong. I could not see the above room type on other websites. In the end, there was only a double bed in the upper floor and a lower floor in the middle building. A double bed. The hotel has been renovated, but there are no chairs or tables. There is only one trash can. The bathroom partition door is only half a piece, and all the water flies out.

This was a very nice hotel! The breakfast had many good options of all different types of food. The room was a great size and was very well maintained. The staff was very friendly. The first night of check in, our tv was not working properly and the manager came right away to fix it! We booked a room with club access, however during check in the clerk upgraded our room which ended up taking away our club access however, the manager was able to fix the booking and restored our club access. I think the club could be expanded more as there was not a lot of room and also the beverage options could be upgraded. The hotel was not too far away from the subway lines so we were able to walk and explore London. I thought it was a great stay.

This was our second night at this hotel as we had enjoyed our visit so much we stayed longer than originally planned. All was good, as previously reviewed, except that on this occasion we had little sleep due to constant noise from outside the hotel which went on until it was almost morning. It was a Friday night though, so probably to be expected given the hotel’s location. We should have taken earplugs! We would certainly stay here again, but maybe not at the weekend.

Worried about the distance from city center, but didn’t need to. A quick walk to bus 29 and you can be in the middle of where you want to be in 30 mins. Longer walk and you can take the tube
The room was great, bed was soft, cooling worked well (I’m a hot person) , and there was a full kitchen and large fridge and freezer. I did have to buy ice to keep in the freezer but there is a shop around the corner that sells bags of ice.
Will stay here again very comfortable stay.

Very satisfied! recommend! I stayed in a small and beautiful hotel that was very comfortable😄👍The shower room was spacious and it was very refreshing to take a bath. What a good rest those two nights were! If you run out of tea bags in the room, you can pick up chocolate powder and so on downstairs. The surrounding facilities are complete and the transportation is convenient. London Zoo is within walking distance. It's not far to the south to King's Cross Station.

A family with children stayed in London for half a month. After comparing hotels and apartments, we chose apartments. At first, we were worried that there would be no breakfast and that the surrounding dining and shopping would be inconvenient. However, when we arrived, the hotel was very clean and exquisitely decorated. There were 2 supermarkets and many restaurants 100 meters downstairs. The kitchen utensils were very complete. You can cook for yourself every morning and evening. Life was very convenient. It was located in a wealthy area with a good environment and was very safe. There was someone at the front desk 24 hours a day, the service was very good, the cleaning would be done every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and the courier would help deliver to the door. Super awesome 👍

Outstanding
GGuest UserBe careful of being unknowingly charged with a ‘discussionary charge of tips’ (supposed to be A Conpulsory charge of tips, don’t be fool by the name, it is non-discussionary) AFTER CHECKING OUT of the hotel. I was being charged with a discussionary charge of the tips on the credit card automatically without being informed upfront after I checked out and left the hotel.
When I checked out, i was informed at the counter that they were closing their account for previous day and they would help me check out my room and email me the invoice of my stay after they finished closing account. As a result, I innocently left the hotel since I thought a 5-star hotel would not have anything gone wrong. However, I was totally wrong until I saw extra charges on my credit card while not receiving any so called invoice from the hotel at all. I then reached out to Trip.com to request for the invoice that they have promised to send to me and it was then I was informed that the extra charges were from a discussionary charge of tips. I wasn’t happy about the way this was done hence I requested for a refund for this since it clearly stated this is a DISCUSSIONARY fee, not a compulsory fee. However, I was informed that this is a Non-refundable fee and my request was denied.
Out of so many hotels I have stayed, it is unbelievable that in a 5-Star hotel, I was forced to pay something that wasn’t even being informed upfront. In addition, with the fee name suggested, it is a discussionary charge of tips NOT a compulsory charge of tips, the hotel has forced the customers to pay it as COMPULSORY CHARGE OF TIPS.
In addition, the hotel services were very inefficient and lot of rooms for improve. We ordered for an in-room meal and we were told that it would take about half an hour to deliver. Hence we waited, and until an hour later, there was no update on our meal and we had to make a call again to check for the progress of our meal. It was then we knew there was a delay in the meal. By the time we done with our meal, we made the call again to request for someone to collect the plates, we literally waited for more than an hour and had to call twice before someone came to pick up the plates.
This shouldn’t have been the service received in a 5-star hotel and the worst of all, the hotel should have more transparency in their charges and should have informed the customers on the charges upfront before the actual charging. When we signed for the amount paid for the meal, there were no statement on the discussionary charge of tips at all, and we didn’t expect there would be as we were not even informed.
It is not that we are unwilling to give the tips and we did give the tips during the stay. However, it made us very uncomfortable that we weren’t informed anything upfront and it was charged to my credit card AFTER we CHECKED OUT of THE HOTEL. It made us feeling very unsafe to provide the credit card to the hotel as they can charge whatever charges they want after checking out the hotel. In addition, it is a discussionary charge, isn’t it should be discussed before I was being charged? If not it should be called a a compulsory charge of tips.
CChanningFairly to say that location is good which just behind the University of London. It is very convenient to walk to Britain Museum and Oxford and Regent street.
The equipment is okay and service attitude is fairly okay for visitors so recommend !
GGuest UserStay was great until I found out they took money from my bank for breakfast I didn’t take. I stated at check-in I didn’t want breakfast as I was at work early the following day.
I called the hotel for a refund, only to be told I need to send an email to the manager and they would check the cctv to ensure I didn’t attend breakfast.
IIanOur normal IHG Hotel was nearly fully booked therefore the price was prohibitive. We therefore took the opportunity to try for the first time the Sutton Hotel.
All the staff that we met either on the reception or restaurant were friendly, helpful and professional. The Hotel has full amenities including swimming pool, and although we did not use any, except the restaurant, everything looked excellent. Our queen’s standard room was ok but there were a few marks and stains on the carpet, plastic cups in the bathroom, no box of tissues and few plug sockets. All these things are noticed in comparison to our normal hotel at Epsom Downs. It is however true to say that this Hotel had a very good restaurant on sight which Epsom does not. Therefore there is no doubt we will certainly stay here again in the future.
Ttravelling loverconvenient location with walking distance to Shepherd Bush’s Mash station and Big shopping mall Westfield.
Impressive lobby deco and good reception service. However, it should be great if there is cleaner carpet and freezer facility in the room. The phone was not working to connect room service team and I had to visit the reception in person for service request .
TTan24The location is ideal to get to T5 Heathrow Terminal using the POD transport. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is quite big and there seem to be lots of parties happening. The bar is a sports bar and you can enjoy drinks and food. The corridors are very long. The hotel furniture and interior are a bit outdated, but for a short stay it's ok.
NNacho LeeAir con pretty much only blowing hot air instead of cold air, especially during our visit. We had to change room, even hotel engineer not able to fix it.
We asked for a fan, but it took a while nothing came.
The breakfast area is too crowded although quite a lot of selections.
Good walking distance to Westfield
AAnonymous UserRoom & bathroom are tiny.. just nice for the bed, not much space left for the luggage..
location is great, near Paddington station walking distance to Hyde park.
AAnonymous UserThe location is quite convenient. The room for 3 people (2 beds) is okay, not too small, and not too dirty. Shower room is a bit small but clean. There is a kitchen, microwave and sink. Overall I’m good with this stay.
AAngelI am writing to provide feedback on our recent stay at your hotel. While the location was excellent, we found that the hotel itself was in need of some improvements.
Firstly, I would like to highlight the positive aspect of our stay, which was the great location of the hotel. It was conveniently situated near various attractions and amenities, allowing us to easily explore the area. This was definitely a major advantage during our visit.
However, we were disappointed with the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel. The rooms appeared to be in need of a deep cleansing, as there were noticeable stains on the carpets and walls. Additionally, the furniture and fixtures seemed worn out and outdated. A fresh coat of paint and new beds would greatly enhance the overall appearance and comfort of the rooms.
Furthermore, we found the lack of a welcoming lobby person to be quite disappointing. Upon arrival, we were not greeted or assisted by any staff members. This lack of hospitality made us feel unwelcome and left a negative impression.
In conclusion, while the location of the hotel was excellent, we believe that improvements are necessary to enhance the overall guest experience. A thorough cleaning, along with updates to the rooms and furniture, would greatly improve the comfort and aesthetics of the hotel. Additionally, having a friendly and welcoming lobby person would contribute to a more positive and enjoyable stay.
P.S. positive side- I truly appreciate the staff at the hotel who made the effort to move us to a more convenient floor. Additionally, it's always a pleasant experience when the breakfast lady is friendly and accommodating.

(I paid too much for 3nights so I was expecting a good place to relax after 27hours of travelling with a toddler).
