Le Malve Cave Retreat
4.5/549 Reviews
Getting here, or to any hotel nearby, is a bit of an orienteering challenge, but in the end it was a 7 minute walk from one of the more nearby parking spaces. We felt very welcomed by the staff who helped with suggestions for walks, lunch etc. The breakfast included in the price was very good, with a nice mixture of things. We had apparently paid for an upgrade, which, we learned on arrival, meant we would not be staying in a cave room—the main reason we had chosen this hotel. We got our own one-room house next to the hotel. Very nice room with a small balcony and super high ceiling. Still, we had looked forward to staying in a cave room. We appreciated the room amenities with coffee/tea maker, fridge, minibar, AC. It was super quiet and we slept very well.
Residence Masseria Santa Lucia

Amazing location and view, spent a couple of days with a big group of friends to attend a wedding in Matera. Spacious rooms, nice touch: water bottles in the mini fridge were free charge. The swimming pool was just at few stairs from the rooms and we had the best time chilling with some wine and spritz ( from the adiacent bar). A very nice restaurant is there but we didn t get the chance to try it. Very helpful staff and in particular thanks to Enza. Highly reccomended! We would definitely be back :)
Livingstone B&B
4.7/538 Reviews
Livingstone was a great find for our Matera lodging. It's set in the old town, literally 3 min walk from the main square and entrance to Sassi. Room was enough spacious with one double and one single bed which suited three of us. Apartment is modern, specially the bathroom. Our apartment also had a very big terrace with seating sofa, sunbed and a table where we had our dinner. The owner Miriam served a hearty breakfast with freshly prepared omellete, sweet pastries, etc... There're two parking garages in vicinity. Considering the quality/price/location we found it just perfect for exploring Matera.
Palazzo Gattini Luxury Hotel

Beautiful hotel in beautiful Matera. We stayed one night at the Palazzo Gattini & should have stayed two nights (lots to experience in Matera/felt we just got a taste). The team was truly lovely and helpful. Our room was exquisite with a terrace overlooking the Sassi. A wonderful hotel within an incredible city.
