GGuest UserHaving experienced the InterContinental Sanya Haitang Bay, and considering our itinerary, I decided to try the InterContinental Sanya Haitang Bay. The day before our check-in, Kaylee from guest relations proactively contacted me to confirm the details and made thoughtful arrangements for us. 👍
On the day of our check-in, it was pouring rain in Haitang Bay. We were stuck with our luggage in the duty-free shop, watching the rain show no signs of stopping. I contacted Kaylee to ask if the hotel could send someone to pick us up. Kaylee informed me that the hotel didn't have vehicles that could go to the duty-free shop. However, the hotel staff later sent umbrellas for us, helped us move our luggage to the hotel's side entrance, and then the hotel shuttle took us to the lobby. 👍
The hotel lobby is much larger than the InterContinental Sanya Dadonghai, and the overall scale feels comparable to the Westin Wanning/Lingshui.
The room was spacious, bright, and comfortable. The fruit was delicious, and the room was equipped with Baishui Mountain mineral water, with Pure Enjoyment still water for refills. During our stay, whenever I contacted Kaylee, she responded immediately and acted quickly, even when she was off duty, which was impressive! So nice! 👍
Before coming, I learned that the hotel has a large fish tank with many fish, including sea turtles and manta rays. So, I took my child to the viewing tunnel on B2. My child was deeply fascinated by the fish, especially when they saw a giant grouper. My child blurted out, ”Look, fish 2.0!” I was puzzled, and my child explained it was like ”oil tanker 2.0,” with a bunch of smaller fish (like planes) following it. 🤭 We also saw a mermaid show. However, due to the distance of the performance area and limited visibility at the bottom of the tank, we could only see silhouettes. Fortunately, there were pictures of the mermaid show on the tunnel wall, which allowed me to explain it to my child in detail. The entire tunnel wall was covered with科普资料 (scientific information) about various fish, allowing for both viewing and learning. 👍 The tunnel also had multiple observation windows, so you could find your best viewing angle. 👍
The hotel boasts a vast lawn. Looking out, the skyline, the ocean, the greenery, and the lawn were truly refreshing. 👍
The waves in Haitang Bay are indeed strong and powerful, far exceeding those in Wanning and Lingshui. The beach quality is much better than Yalong Bay. We even encountered crabs during the day. 🤗
The breakfast restaurant was spacious, with ample seating. Even during peak hours, we didn't see guests waiting in line. The breakfast spread was rich, and they even offered specialty Xinglong coffee.
The lobby staff were enthusiastic and all smiles. Seeing us with our luggage, they proactively helped us move it. 👍

Firstly, the service at Banyan Tree is top-notch. Every staff member was incredibly kind and attentive, warm, thoughtful, and always willing to help. They were professional yet discreet, making us feel completely at ease. The attention to detail was heartwarming; even though we checked in late at night, the service was still impeccable. From arrival to departure, we received meticulous care, clearly showing that guest experience is their top priority.
The most delightful surprise was the romantic ambiance they specially created for us. The room decor was absolutely stunning! The exquisite flowers set a perfect mood, and we were treated to a freshly made custom cake and a handwritten blessing card. Every detail was thoughtfully designed, making it feel incredibly special. Upon check-out, they even prepared a beautiful parting gift, which was such a thoughtful gesture. It truly felt like Banyan Tree genuinely wished us well and shared in our romantic joy – it was both tender and heartwarming.

After checking in at the front desk, the staff thoughtfully introduced all the hotel facilities to me and even meticulously delivered my luggage all the way to my room. Their attention to detail was exceptional.
What was even more delightful was that the hotel specially arranged for a butler, Ariel, to look after me throughout my stay. Not only did she bring exquisite fruit, but she also quietly planned a little birthday surprise for me. Throughout the entire trip, whether it was itinerary suggestions or small everyday matters, Ariel was incredibly patient. I sincerely thank her for her company and dedication ❤️
This place is simply a 'resort kingdom': it has every facility imaginable – a water park, aquarium, gym, SPA... you'll never get bored. There are so many restaurants that choosing one is difficult, from seafood buffets to authentic Hainanese cuisine, all kinds of delicious food satisfy your taste buds at once. You don't even need to leave the hotel to fill your day with activities.
What I found most captivating were the adorable marine creatures – getting up close, interacting with them, and even 'greeting' them. This therapeutic experience was truly unforgettable 🌊
I've already enthusiastically recommended this hotel to my family and friends, and they're planning to come and experience it themselves this summer~

AAnonymous UserOur last day in Sanya before leaving, we stayed in a Deluxe Seaview Room at Jiabinxuan, and what truly impressed me was the hotel's service. It was incredibly genuine, responsive, and thoughtful in every detail. Our dedicated butler, Fiona, ensured seamless communication throughout our stay and promptly followed up on any requests. During our stay, I offered a small suggestion, and the hotel manager quickly contacted me to discuss my feedback. Knowing I was checking out that day, they even prepared a special hotel-branded toiletry set for me and a cute custom doll for my child. You could really feel how much the hotel values guest opinions – their service attitude definitely deserves praise.
The hotel's facilities were also a pleasant surprise. The gym was well-equipped and sufficient, and next to it was a spacious, independent yoga studio. Yoga mats and light dumbbells were all provided, allowing me to stretch and do light strength training even during my vacation – very considerate. Next to the gym was a children's arcade, divided into free and paid areas. The free options were a fantastic bonus, ensuring kids staying here wouldn't get bored, which saved a lot of hassle for parents.
For the past two days, we'd stayed in pool access rooms where we could swim directly from our door. Today, we specifically checked out the public children's pool and the infinity pool. Both had very child-friendly depths, and with fewer people around, it was relaxing and comfortable to play, perfect for both kids and adults wanting to unwind. Last night's Saturday performance of intangible cultural heritage iron flower splashing on the beach exceeded all expectations – it was stunning and romantic to watch live, making for a truly memorable holiday experience.
Overall, our stay far surpassed expectations. The service, hardware, and entertainment were all top-notch. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit. Highly recommended!

--DEVIL-…My stay at the Sheraton Sanya Haitang Bay Resort exceeded my expectations overall.
Pros: The hotel boasts prime beachfront access in Haitang Bay, with a gentle sandy beach and numerous pools. There are plenty of activities for families, and the facilities are very well-maintained. The breakfast offers a wide variety, and getting to the duty-free shop is super convenient. The facilities feel quite new and not at all outdated; everything was very clean and comfortable.
What truly made our stay special was our butler, Lucky. She proactively communicated about our check-in needs, and clearly and thoroughly arranged our tour routes and dining recommendations. Any small last-minute requests were handled immediately. Her service was patient, meticulous, and incredibly warm. Since I was celebrating my birthday, she even arranged a birthday cake 🎂.
Areas for Improvement: The hotel's concierge team could use some additional training. My luggage was actually carried by the ride-share driver.
A great hotel combined with an attentive butler made for a comfortable and enjoyable trip. I highly recommend requesting Lucky as your butler. On my next vacation to Sanya, I'll definitely be staying at the Sheraton Haitang Bay again! Check out the photos!

GGuest UserDue to noise issues in our previous lake-view family room, we reported it to Gina, who then moved us to a family room in the main building. Overall, this room had lower ceilings and older facilities than the previous one, but it was more spacious. The best part was how quiet it was; after 10 PM, there was virtually no noise outside, which was great for light sleepers. I really appreciate Gina from Guest Services for her attention to detail; she even prepared a small cake for the child, who was thrilled.
The hotel pool's bubble activity is every Tuesday and Thursday at 4:30 PM. My child had so much fun they completely forgot themselves, but then developed a fever that evening. When I asked the hotel for an ear thermometer, they replied that they only had mercury thermometers.
How could an A+ parent-child hotel not have an ear thermometer? While an ear thermometer might not be as accurate as a mercury one, it's difficult to use a mercury thermometer with very young children who might not cooperate. Of course, we usually bring our own ear thermometer when we travel, but there are always unexpected situations, like forgetting it this time.
Service: Most of the restaurant staff, cleaning ladies in public areas, and bellhops at the entrance actively greeted us, and they were all very good.
Getting Around: There's a night market within walking distance of the hotel. The beach is just a left turn out of the hotel and across the road. The hotel can arrange a car to Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park, which was a filming location for 'If You Are the One 2' – just ask the Golden Key concierge in the lobby.
For other places, you generally need to take a taxi. For example, if you want to go to West Island, it's at least a 45-minute taxi ride. If you're staying for three days or less, I honestly recommend just staying at the hotel. Don't venture out too much, or you'll lose the meaning of a vacation and get too tired.
Issues encountered in the room:
1. The most memorable thing was that my child's white socks turned black very quickly after walking on the floor. It seemed the room floor wasn't mopped daily, as I also saw hair near the dining table that hadn't been cleaned up. However, the housekeeping staff were quite considerate; they noticed we needed more water and directly provided 8 bottles. Linens and room consumables were fully replenished after previous guests checked out. But when our extended stay room was cleaned the next day, they took away the child's bathrobe and didn't replace it, nor did they replenish consumables. I had to call later that night to request them. Overall, it was easy to tell that different people were cleaning on different days.
2. There were also some hardware issues, such as the curtain and screen window switches being reversed. The lighting modes were quite unintuitive; for example, there was no night light mode or a mode to only turn on the lights above the bedside table. The shower drain worked better than in the previous room, flowing smoothly without overflowing. However, the hot water in the shower took too long to come out – definitely over ten seconds – so long that I thought hot water wasn't coming out at all.
3. For dining, we only experienced breakfast and the buffet dinner. My child particularly enjoyed the fruit at the buffet dinner and the mermaid show. The food quality overall wasn't particularly outstanding; it was just enough to fill you up, with no dishes leaving a special impression. The photo is of breakfast.
Long after checking out, I realized I had left some items, but I didn't receive any call or feedback from the hotel. Although if they had called, I probably would have said to discard them, I wonder if the current hotel process for lost and found items is to wait for guests to call and inquire, otherwise, they assume it's not wanted and dispose of it?
We experienced the afternoon tea and travel photography included in the package. We didn't go to the DIY activity.

GGuest UserTwo days that far exceeded my expectations! Our butler, Coral, was so thoughtful. It must have been the off-season because we got an upgrade. She was always quick to respond to any questions, which was super convenient. The room was huge, with two beds facing the balcony, so you could lie in bed and watch the ocean and sunrise. One wall of the bathroom was glass, facing the sea, making it clean and bright. The restaurant was just downstairs, and the roasted chicken at the Thai restaurant was delicious. The room was also very close to the beach, perfect for water activities. In the evenings, you could watch movies on the lawn. There's also a seafood BBQ buffet right by the beach, and they start playing music every evening, creating a lively atmosphere. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserI originally only planned to stay for three days during my Sanya vacation, but because I loved Shangri-La so much, I spontaneously decided to extend my stay for another night. Honestly, I've extended my stay at other hotels before, and sometimes it can be quite a hassle, involving long waits and multiple trips to the front desk. But this time was completely different, all thanks to my butler, Felix. After I told him I wanted to extend, he patiently checked the room availability, confirmed I could stay longer, and then guided me step-by-step through the process, without me having to lift a finger. He even proactively brought the new room key for the extended stay directly to my room and sent me the bill in advance for review, crystal clear. I didn't even have to go to the front desk once to complete the extension – it was truly hassle-free. Looking back, the reason this vacation was so comfortable was because of Felix – no matter what problem I encountered, he could solve it, and he always did so with a calm, patient demeanor. When I come to Sanya again, I will definitely choose Shangri-La and will certainly look for Felix. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a stress-free vacation. Five-star rating, truly well-deserved!

AAnonymous UserThe only highlight of this hotel is the incredible view from the lobby, which directly overlooks the sea. As for the rooms, they aren't very new and the soundproofing is poor. Every morning around 7 or 8, even before I was fully awake, I'd hear guests dragging their luggage loudly outside and doors slamming shut intermittently, making it impossible to get back to sleep. The service, however, was decent.
Now, I really need to rant about the complimentary photoshoot offered by the hotel; it was absolutely terrible.
1. **Photographer's attitude was subpar.**
* He clearly just wanted to finish quickly and get off work. During the shoot, he initially said I could suggest any poses or locations. But when I actually proposed where I wanted to shoot, he kept dismissing my ideas, saying certain spots weren't good or wouldn't work.
* After a few shots, I asked to see how they looked. He immediately got annoyed. I just wanted to check if there was anything I needed to adjust for subsequent photos. Was that really such a big deal?
* After seeing the photos, I felt my styling wasn't quite right; I wanted to pull my hat down a bit more. Essentially, I wasn't happy with the first few shots. He then adopted a 'if you're so good, you do it' attitude, saying things like, 'Okay, so what do *you* think looks good? You pose, and I'll shoot.' It felt incredibly impatient, like 'either you know how to pose yourself or you listen to me.' I simply wanted to adjust my look and retake the photos. Even though it was free, if the service attitude is like this, they should just assign someone else. Getting impatient after just a few shots is really frustrating. I quickly ended the session because I was genuinely unhappy. What's the point of such an attitude when their skill is mediocre? Oh well, it's free, what more can you expect?
2. **Upselling within the studio.** They take your photos for retouching, and then during the selection process, they show you the retouched versions. The retouched photos cost money and are quite expensive. The staff there actively pushes you to choose the retouched ones and pay for them. If you only want the free unedited photos, they look terrible. Firstly, the photography skills are just average, and secondly, the camera settings weren't adjusted well. It feels deliberate, as if they intentionally make the initial photos look bad to entice you to buy the retouched versions later. It's a real scam. If you have high standards for photos but don't want to spend too much, be very cautious. The free ones definitely won't look good.
3. **Photographer's attitude varied wildly.** He was clearly impatient with me, but I saw him shooting with other people, and he was all smiles and full of positive energy. Is it because my photoshoot was complimentary from the hotel? If they're so unwilling to serve these types of guests, then they shouldn't offer it in the first place. Speechless.
**Image 1** shows the sea view from the hotel lobby. **Image 2** is one of the original photos from the complimentary shoot, and you can see the lighting and filters make it look dark and unattractive. Can't they even adjust basic settings on a Fujifilm camera to make it look decent? **Image 3** is a photo I took myself, and it's better than the photographer's, and I haven't even edited it. The difference in effort is clear. Again, what more can you expect from something free? Be careful if you choose this!

TTangxinleizhenyuThe room overall is pretty good, and there are many more free activities to participate in. Two years ago, when I visited, I even caught the Earth Hour concert, which was very interesting. This time, the room type I stayed in was larger and had better facilities, and the price was still the same – great value for money. The downsides are that the air conditioning was really a bit warm, the maintenance of the beach and lawn wasn't great, and the restaurant food has become less appealing. Also, the hotel lobby now has a lot of stalls selling small merchandise, which feels quite cluttered. However, this might be unavoidable given its value-for-money approach, but I still hope they can make more improvements if possible.
