BBeiluoaolicangtezhanghengAs a mother traveling with two children, the front desk graciously upgraded us to a corner sea-view suite, even though we had originally booked a standard sea-view room. The room was incredibly spacious, boasting a 270-degree panoramic ocean view from the balcony – it truly felt perfect for a young couple on their honeymoon!
Regarding the underwater restaurant, it's absolutely crucial to book your seats in advance. I didn't, and consequently, all the window seats were taken, which definitely detracted from the experience. Thankfully, someone didn't show up halfway through, and the staff kindly moved us to a tunnel table. My kids absolutely loved interacting with the mermaids, making it a fantastic experience!
In summary, if you're staying at the InterContinental Sanya Haitang Bay Resort, a sea-view room and a visit to the underwater restaurant are absolute must-dos. Otherwise, the overall experience is quite similar to what you'd find at other hotels in Haitang Bay. Those two aspects are definitely the highlights, and shouldn't be missed!

GGuest UserAn absolutely perfect stay! The Bird's Nest Resort is sprawling. If you opt for the East Wing, you'll be conveniently close to the resort's only two restaurants. Choose the West Wing, and you'll be just steps away from the magnificent Cliffside Heavenly Pool. No matter which wing you choose, you can simply message the WeChat customer service to arrange a buggy transfer to your desired location within the resort or any attraction in Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park. The buggy service is usually prompt, arriving within 2 minutes; however, during busy periods, it might take up to 15 minutes. Comfortable seating is provided at all waiting points, so waiting is never a bother.
Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, with excellent bedding and amenities that met all expectations. Upon check-in, I immediately sprayed the room with mosquito repellent. Whether this was the reason or not, we didn't encounter any insects indoors. That said, we did spot some large geckos and spiders outdoors, but these didn't detract from our overall experience.
The Western restaurant boasts beautiful views. The Cliffside Heavenly Pool infinity pool is absolutely stunning – who else has an infinity pool featuring natural rocks and lush trees, all while offering panoramic ocean vistas from a mountaintop perspective! When you visit the forest park, I recommend asking the customer service to take you to Tropical Paradise Square. Afterwards, you can directly take the zipline down to Orchid Valley for 100 RMB. The 100 RMB zipline consists of four exciting segments, providing a fun, refreshing, and absolutely exhilarating experience! I'll definitely be returning to stay at the Bird's Nest Resort again; I absolutely loved it!

From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff greeted me with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. They made the check-in process incredibly smooth and efficient, ensuring that I felt welcomed and valued as a guest. Their professionalism and attention to detail were evident as they provided me with all the necessary information about the hotel amenities and local attractions.Assistant Front Office Manager May was kindly of my family.
What impressed me the most was their willingness to go above and beyond to meet my needs. When I requested recommendations for restaurants and activities, they took the time to understand my preferences and offered personalized suggestions that greatly enhanced my stay. It's rare to find such knowledgeable and friendly staff who truly care about their guests' experiences.
Additionally, the concierge team was equally remarkable. They were always available and ready to assist with any inquiries or requests I had. Whether it was arranging transportation, booking excursions, or providing insider tips on the best places to visit, they did so with enthusiasm and efficiency. CChristieThis hotel was excellent. There are 2 pools, both very clean and large. The staff also frequently check the pool and maintain it in excellent condition. The highlight….the breakfast buffet was amazing!!!!! It had multiple stations including BBQ, noodles, traditional dim sum, western breakfast options, Thai/malay curry, pastries, desserts and an excellent assortment of fresh tropical fruit. They had guava, passion fruit and fresh melons.
Would definitely come again and stay longer so that I can see other parts of the island.

MMRAZWe had a great stay in Sheraton. Staff were very cooperative especially Olivia at the front desk. She guided me for everything. Resort has many swimming pools of different depths. Environment was like a home. Room was very beautiful without any smell. Breakfast was very delicious. Few things which annoyed us was the long queue to wait for breakfast outside the feast restaurant and no air conditioner in the Lobby. It was too hot and humid in the lobby and it was too difficult to sit there for few minutes. Over all our stay was good and we will go there again.

AAnonymous UserI have mixed feelings about this place. The best part is the location. You are on a main road with many shops, restaurants and bus stops as well as the beach. I also liked the pool despite it being a little too shallow. The view from my balcony was also great.
One problem was cleanliness. Never walk around the room barefoot cause your feet will get dirty. It also looked like the crockery and kitchen utensils were not cleaned before I arrived. As you can see some of the utensils were dusty!
Hot water was another issue. Obviously you need hot water to properly wash your hands and dirty dishes. However I only had hot water in the shower, not in the kitchen nor bathroom sink.
This leads to my next issue which is service. I told the staff about the lack of hot water on the Friday and they said they would fix it at some point during the day while I am out with my friend. I come back at roughly 9pm to find out there is still no hot water. On Saturday morning I remind them to fix it before I go out again, hoping when I return I will have hot water. While I'm at the beach I miss a call from them. Turns out instead of fixing the issue, they want to move me to another room with hot water. When I return from the beach I saw the message and told them I am ready to move to the new room. But they replied saying I was too late and they gave the room to someone else. (If I did take that room, does that mean the other guest would have my room and have to suffer with cold water instead of me?) Instead of taking responsibility for not providing hot water or trying to fix it, the staff tried to blame me and said I can't get hot water cause I was too busy to answer their calls. When I pushed back on that comment their next excuse was that a lack of hot water is a common problem in Hainan? But then they said they would check if there was a free room with hot water the next day (Sunday). However, they never contacted me about that again so I just gave up trying. If they couldn't fix the problem, they could have at least offered me compensation but they didn't. This experience made me feel dismissed and unimportant as a paying guest.
To sum up, I wouldn't stay here again based on my experience. If they were to give me a room with hot water in the shower AND in both sinks, that's great. However, I would still have to deal with dirty floors and cookware + tableware. It's definitely not the worst place I've stayed in but regardless it didn't meet my standards so I still wouldn't stay here if I return to Sanya. Disappointing.

Pros:
The beach is right there, the water is clear, and the waves are small, making it super convenient for swimming. The view is also fantastic. For the sea-view room we booked, the price was an absolute steal!
Cons:
Now for the downsides! The hotel is old, and there's no denying that. Given its prime location and year-round full occupancy, I can understand why major renovations might be difficult. However, the poor hygiene is completely unacceptable. In the bathroom, the toilet seat still had sticky residue from disposable seat covers left by previous guests (or even several previous guests), which hadn't been properly cleaned. Is it really that hard? A little adhesive remover would take it off instantly! Cobwebs were hanging in the corner of the cubby where the bath towels were stored – seriously, how long has it been since that spot was cleaned? The transparent glass wall between the bathroom and bedroom had a white roller blind covered in mold spots! Maybe they could just replace it with a patterned blind, so I wouldn't have to look at it and could just pretend it's clean...
Our room's bathroom didn't have a separate shower, forcing us to shower in the bathtub. The hygiene of the tub and its surroundings was so questionable that soaking was out of the question – we could only stand to wash. To make matters worse, both the roller blind on the left and the shower curtain on the right were full of mold spots and various strange stains. The tub itself was barely half a meter wide, making showering feel like an extreme obstacle course! The wardrobe had a basic design: open the door, the light comes on; close the door, it turns off. However, the cabinet door was warped and didn't close properly, so the light inside stayed eerily on. In the middle of the night, it looked as if some mythical creature was residing within... The bathrobes were frayed, and the curtains were too dirty to even touch. Despite a wonderful balcony with an amazing view, not even a single chair was provided.
Downstairs, there's a large swimming pool, but it only had ankle-deep water. This vast area, featuring a pool bar and a circular lounging zone, along with the adjacent circular-designed McDonald's, felt like a completely wasted excellent setup. For the pools that did have water, the circulation wasn't working, and the water wasn't even clear! I really can't fathom what the hotel management is thinking. It was similar last year, but this year, the hygiene appears to have deteriorated even further.
Overall, for Yalong Bay, the hotel offers good value for money, and the sea here is truly amazing. I sincerely hope the hotel can improve. I won't even dwell on the outdated facilities; just updating the small details and implementing stricter hygiene controls would make a huge difference, even if it meant a slight price increase. Otherwise, even its prime location won't be enough to salvage its reputation.
Oh, and a final note: the hotel's safety railing for beds should not be used. It's a serious safety hazard. The support bar that slides under the mattress is less than 20cm long, causing it to tip over with the slightest touch. Parents traveling with babies should be especially cautious!

GGuest UserThis was a very satisfying stay for me, I could even say it was a pleasant surprise! So before leaving, I took a photo of the room to help the store evaluate it. People say that accommodation in Sanya is expensive, and many people recommend staying in big hotels. I was busy before the Spring Festival, so I booked this hotel late because big hotels were too expensive. However, I didn't expect that the room gave us a big surprise. I am here with my parents and two children to celebrate the Spring Festival, so I booked this high-rise sea view three-bedroom suite. The decoration level of the house is very good and the house is relatively new. Moreover, you can see a good sea view from the living room to each bedroom. Several exterior photos were taken by me from the living room and master bedroom balcony respectively. The scenery is very beautiful. I fully believe that this room is as good as those in other multi-star hotels that are several times more expensive. If I really want to find fault, I can only say that because it is located in a residential building, the public facilities such as corridors, elevators and parking lots cannot match those of multi-star hotels. However, compared with the price, it is definitely value for money no matter what! In a word, it is highly recommended, especially for a family of five or more who need more rooms and have higher requirements for the accommodation environment and view. You must ask the boss to book this high-rise sea view suite!

YYuanannaBefore we checked in, the housekeeper Kiki contacted us proactively. We thought it was just an online housekeeper, but we didn't expect that he would show up when we checked in and lead us. Along the way, he asked us about our needs and adaptability, and asked us if we needed an introduction to the hotel. He also introduced the room facilities after we entered the room. Kiki responded and solved various problems in a timely manner. Because I was with my children, I encountered more problems, but there was a staff member who was very nice. Several families came to help us solve the problems every time, saying that they were worried that we had been waiting for a long time. I later asked Kiki his name, which was Wang Chenglong.
