Leonardo Hotel Plymouth

We headed to Plymouth for a surprise 30th birthday party and booked here as it was near to the venue. The reception staff were great, I received 2 free drinks vouchers which were part of my deal without having to request them. The star of the service staff was the young man, who was new to working the bar (Fri 17th March in the afternoon) He was clearly so passionate about getting everything correct, checking all glasses for marks etc. He is a credit to an employer. The room was spacious and the bed super comfy with loads of pillows. Shower and bathroom were really clean and had good pressure (something I always comment on, as there is nothing worse trying to freshen up under a dribble!) We were only on the 2nd floor but heard no street noise at all. The location is great for the barbican. Only small issue is that the car park is very grotty- but its a typical city centre car park. But its locked at night so fairly safe I would say. Definitely would stay again when we come back.
FoxHouse Studio Apartments

Well equipped, clean and functional. Location was great and walkable to everything. Perfect for the theatre, literally 100 yards away. Cheap car park across the road and it had super fast EV chargers. You are bang in the middle of it all so on a busy Saturday night you do get all the revellers going past but I quite enjoyed that. Great for people watching with a glass of wine by the huge windows ! If you want tranquil go to a forest retreat ;) Bed was comfy, tv had plenty of channels and the kitchen has everything to make basic meals. We were asked for £100 security deposit which we didn’t realise when we made the booking but on the basis we weren’t going to destroy anything we didn’t mind paying that. Will definitely be back.

Nice place to stay that.
Copthorne Hotel Plymouth

Stayed for 12 nights as on a two week training course in Plymouth, nice comfortable room, all amenities available hot and cold drinks (cold kept in room fridge, found the fridge handy to store extra milk!) as not keen on the cartons of milk nice hot shower and bath however shower does take a while to warm up bed and towels changed daily, hotel good location and easy access to all Plymouth attractions within walking distance beware if on foot of the hills! as the hotel is at the top of a hill, good selection at breakfast and nice friendly staff and good to see the hotel manager around the hotel greeting guests at breakfast, also nice to get a complimentary drinks voucher a nice touch too. and a nice fitness suite for guests to use,a few minor issues slight peel on wallpaper in room, warm room had to keep fan on or open window also as light sleeper and at back of hotel could hear students in the student flats opposite and the seagulls flying around all night
One Caprera Guest House
4.2/52 Reviews
We had three of the six rooms at One Caprera guest house, and all were spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds, modern ensuites with large shower cubicle and powerful showers! A small table with two chairs and kettle, with tea/coffee/hot chocolate. All the rooms were cozy in size, as to be expected in a house conversion, with a slightly larger ”master” bedroom on the top floor, all decorated to a high standard and well maintained. A decent sized smart TV with Netflix was a refreshing change from the usual disappointing hotel TV's! Their is a family sized dining room with a large dining table, sofa and TV for communal eating, and a lovely kitchen that appeared to have quite a lot of staple items in the cupboards for those who might wish to cook their meals. We were only visiting for a funeral, and didn't use it, but it had a nice homely but modern feel to it. A private walled area outside with table and chairs provides an area for the smokers in the group, or for enjoying the gorgeous Devon air and eating in the sunshine. Communication with Christine was fantastic, a very professional and welcoming manner. We stayed during the lockdown for our mums funeral, and Christine could not have been more helpful or understanding, while keeping with the advice surrounding the lockdown! We never met her, keys were left securely for pick up when we arrived, and the whole place was spotlessly clean on arrival! Thank you for making an exception for our stay, I will definitely be staying here again on future visits to Plymouth, the city that still holds a piece of my heart! ❤
Premier Inn Plymouth (Sutton Harbour)
4.1/541 Reviews
We stayed at this Premier Inn for 1 night on 24th March on a stopover to Cornwall. The location is perfect for exploring Plymouth. Parking was £6 for 24 hours which is fairly good for a city centre location. When we initially got to our room (303), it was too hot. We immediately opened the window, however the road noise was very loud so resorted to the Air Conditioning. This clearly hadn't been serviced in a while as when it was on it made the sound of water trickling regularly. So we substituted an average night sleep with having the window open and the loud road noise. The shower and hand basin was pretty much pointless. The hand basin tap had an awful flow of pressure with a small squirt coming out. Removing the pressure reducer resolved this issue. However the shower pressure was ridiculous, to the point it didn't remove shampoo from the hair. The WiFi as others have said was practically useless, I upgraded to ultimate WiFi and the speed was below 1mb p/s across Android, Windows & iOS Devices. As for the bedroom cleanliness, it wasn't great - hairs in the shower and markings on the pillow. On checkout, team members were more interested in having a discussion at the reception desk than offering a ”Thankyou, Goodbye” to guests. We wouldn't choose to return to this Premier Inn in the future.
