The Hacienda at Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta- All Inclusive

Puerto Vallarta|0.56km from La Isla
I'd like to preface this review with the fact that I'm usually pretty forgiving in my assessments of hotels. I've stayed at many all inclusive resorts and this one was a disappointment, especially for the price. Firstly, the hotel, grounds and setting are beautiful. The resort is small and was convenient and accessible for our young 3 year old. The quality of the food and drinks , though not amazing, were good. The service was generally very good-the staff motivated by tips. Where they fall down is 1. Towels! The main attraction of this resort is the pool and beach and there were never any towels. In the entire 7 days we stayed there, we managed to secure pool towels only once. We often had to bring room towels (which were also in short supply) down to the pool. Several attempts made to get towels from front desk and each time were given different excuses and unfulfilled promises. 2. Pool loungers are in very short supply. One must wake at 5 am to secure a pool lounger. Again, property is not large but adding a few more loungers may help. I've stayed previously at many all inclusive resorts and have never had this kind of problem securing chairs or towels. Nightly entertainment is lacking and hotel relies on guest providing entertainment through karaoke. We did enjoy the one night they brought in a professional singer and the couple nights of professional entertainment performer poolside. Very little nightlife if you are looking for that. Night beach bar has lots of potential but I'm sure has to do with guests staying at hotel Finally, my husbands watch was stolen from our hotel room

Guess I will start at the beginning. Once checked in we were met by Rogelio Robles (Roving Concierge) I cannot say enough good things about this man. He took us on a tour of the property and was also available whenever we had questions or needed any kind of help. Always smiling and laughing and spoke great English. I honestly wish I could say the same about the rest of the staff. When we asked the front desk when the Italian Restaurant was open they couldn't even answer it and directed us to a monitor in the lobby. The bartenders never smiled or acknowledged us in any way, despite us being there a week and tipping each time. That be said I would give staff a poor rating. Next the food ---- be prepared for buffets including the Mexican restaurant and all were below average. I will say the buffet breakfast had a good variety including oatmeal, yogurts, cereals, made to order quesadillas and omelets. One would have thought the Mexican Restaurant would be good but it wasn't. Chips and salsa weren't even served on the tables and the bowls on the buffet were empty or filled with broken chips. The pork in the made to order burritos was rubbery and although there were tacos I had no idea where you ordered them. I should add we were there 1/2 after opening. The snack truck for lunch was to serve burgers, hot dogs and french fries. We went twice. Although the burgers were fine they do not serve french fries but rather a handful of potato chips. Next and last is the Italian restaurant. They try to make is fancy and have a dress code but picture a family style Italian restaurant. The lighting was full lite. The service was great and I would said the food was the best this resort has to offer. Unfortunately it isn't open every day. Bar service was just ok, like I mentioned above no friendly servers, no smiles, no thank you when tipping. Only 1 brand of beer (light) I believe Dos Exquis. They couldn't tell me. The margaritas are week and none of the bars open until 11 am. The coffee shop ladies were mostly pleasant. and the lattes were good. Most of the pastries were dry with the exception of the coconut bread. The afternoon tea sandwiches were pretty tasty. The pictures of the rooms on the web-site are pretty close to what they really look like. We had the junior bay view suite which was very nice. Although the door needed repair as there was a gap and wouldn't close properly. We were actually locked in our room and had to call the front desk for help. The pool is large with a shallow end and rope for the little ones and deeper end with a ledge for sitting. Some broken tiles but overall not bad. Entertainment here was really good. We went to the fire show and also the magic show. Both were very entertaining. The activities around the pool (Contests, etc) were fun to watch and I think they did a good job getting people involved. Maybe it was the time of the year we went but they spoke mostly Spanish. Would I return

Crown Paradise Golden All Inclusive Resort - Adults Only

This is an affordable all-inclusive place to stay with a nice beach for swimming and sitting on the sand. There isn't much shade but you can rent a beach umbrella and chairs. The lobby and buffet are open air so it can get really hot during the warmer months. The food was safe, but unremarkable. There was a good variety of choices everyday and each night at the buffet had a theme, such as Mexican, Seafood night and BBQ to name three. We were there at the beginning of October and the weather was still quite hot and the Air Conditioning in the inside restaurants was not quite strong enough to cool the place down, but the servers were excellent. I was worried before arriving that the hotel would be noisy at night, but they have a night club for the resort across the street for all of the late night partiers making the hotel a quiet place to rest and sleep. However, one of the elevators must have been over something very stinky because most of the time, there was a smell of sewer for a lot of our rides. It was the elevator that was for the rooms on the beach front side of the hotel that went up to the 7th floor. The other elevator in that section only went up to the 6th floor. The rooms were nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. We were on a top floor with roof exposure so our room was never able to cool down below 77 degrees despite the hotel's efforts to fix the AC so I had difficulty sleeping. I understand the lower rooms were nice and cool for sleeping. The maid did a great job keeping our room clean! This is a great place to stay for those who like a busy active beach area. It is centrally located which makes it easy to go into town or access tours. The hotel staff was great. If you want a more relaxing, quieter beach and pool, you will probably need to go elsewhere.

We ended up getting to the property a couple hours before check in but our concierge Franco greeted us at our first step out of our shuttle. His team grabbed our bags as he escorted to the front desk. We had 3 rooms booked and they were able to give us 2 of them adjoining. We had to wait a couple hours to check in but we got our bracelets, a quick tour and sat down for some lunch a few drinks while we waited! Smooth check in process! The service from housekeeping to bartenders to pool servers were all so friendly and fast! The pool food was great for snacking on. The breakfast buffet was decent with a good variety of choices. Drinks were mostly small unless you asked for a bigger glass, which was never an issue. All 3 of our rooms were pretty clean and housekeeping kept up with everything pretty well! The beach was a great spot for sunsets. Few vendors around but they weren’t too much of a bother. Not much of a swimming style beach due to how rough it was at the time we visited. The lobby bar was a good time in the evening with live music! All in all, we would definitely head back!
Krystal Vallarta

We had the pleasure of staying at the Krystal Puerto Vallarta for the month of August 2022. The team was very accommodating from the moment we arrived. Lilian Lozano a front desk manager was simply outstanding and very accommodating to our needs. Our room was clean and modern with a great ocean view. Gabriela (Gabby) our cleaning lady, ensured our room was in great shape, with great pride and attention to detail and always with a great smile. The food was very good and tasty, eating at different  restaurants was a nice treat. The Manager of the restaurants,  Maricela  Hernandez was most welcoming and thoughtful, providing an experience that exceeded ou expectations and treating us to some delicacies at the end of our trip. The serving staff at the restaurants were great. Special mention goes to the following individuals for the great service and attention to us as clients: Alberto as from day one provide great service; Omar Becerra table Captain always leading by example; Rahul, Eduardo, Enrique, Hilda, Maria and Hugo always tending to our needs. Thank you for making our month visit wonderful and memorable. Until the next time....Hasta Luego Amigos Mexicanos Julio and John

Don’t believe any terrible reviews. We adore this resort. Visited mid January for the 2nd time. It was just as enjoyable as it had been in 2018 and we will definitely return next year! It’s nicely contained but not at all cramped. Very friendly and hardworking staff. Bartenders were always generous. Beach very swimmable. It’s actually much preferable to be at a more midsize resort with children and elderly. Also the 10 min trip from the airport is really convenient as opposed to the hour long journey with other places. Being situated right in town is convenient as one can cheaply cab around if desired. On the beach we purchased a boatride, hair braids, as well as horsebackriding from folks passing by and had a great time. There is also a huge supermarket a 5 min walk away with all kids of high quality clothes/sandals, souvenirs, and other household things if something comes up. One of the main pools is actually slightly heated (which we have not seen anywhere else, and we have been to many Mexican all-inclusives on both the east and west coasts) which makes a huge difference. Obtaining pool loungers was never an issue even midway through the afternoon. Sure the rooms need updating but we don’t spend much time in there anyway. Some people have mentioned issues with the kids pool (?broken tiles); my kids, as young as 2, had 0 issues. Bring a lifejacket/swimvest if the kid is under 4 or 5 as part of the kids pool is moderately deep. The a la carte restaurants probably leave something to be desired but we only went once with the 4 kids along. Buffet certainly had everything we wanted and the waitstaff were very enthusiastic and attentive. It’s very reasonably priced, but don’t discount this place. Highly anticipating returning in 2025!

Puerto de Luna Pet Friendly and Family Suites

Rented a airb&b in the complex in January then a suite in the hotel for part of February. The place has a great pool, enough lounges, comfortable beds and great staff and security, beautiful landscape, the restaurant in the complex was good but only open in the morning . Close to restaurants and shopping centres. Our suite had kitchen ( that what we wanted coming from a airb&b) but was extremely minimal we had to purchase several kitchen items like dishcloths, lighter for the gas stove, pay for drinking water etc The airb@b didn’t mention it’s pet friendly, most people did look after them but some could be annoying (barking) the suite was open to the hallway and stairway so could be noisy. Also didn’t care for noisy day visitors or radios by the pool, prefer my own music (I use headphones). I know I’m picky but I’m on holidays and paying.
