A very nice hotel with nice staff. At the reception the check-in etc takes somewhat nice long. At the ski lift you are fast, just a bus stop away. Unfortunately, more mass handling at the buffet. Dinner was ”naja”. Suppet and salad delicious, dei main meals rather cantines - that has, unfortunately, buffet so in itself. Breakfast is beautifully rich and varied. For the size of the hotel the wellness area is rather small. 2 saunas, that's OK, but unfortunately quite little beds and not separated from the showers. So so well you can relax rather on the room. We had a faulty fire alarm at night and stood in the sleeping suit at half two in the frozen night Temperatures outside. Unfortunately, there was no meeting of the hotel at request. At least the € 20 drinks they could have left us out of course. Of course, probably the hotel can't do anything for it, but we also haven't and that has already made us We don't come again. ------ In itself a nice, modern hotel with friendly staff. Pleasant stay in Heritage Hotel. Perfect location. The room is big and spacious. The bed is big and comfortable. Breakfast is really good as well. The staff at the reception is really nice and welcoming. Room assigned is on 4th floor, which we could hear footsteps from the room above us at 6 am in the morning. Request for a room on the top floor, 6th floor, if you're a light sleeper like us. The restaurant is really good. We went there for dinner twice during our 3 nights stay in Heritage Hotel. The soup was really good. We ordered the char grilled salmon with pumpkin risotto, really delicious 😋

When I was considering to book a room in this hotel, I was in doubt about it because of some negative reviews that I read. Nevertheless, I decided to book even so, and my experience there was GREAT. I, respectfully, think that many negative comments here are unfair, as I’m going to explain while I give my perceptions about the hotel. Overview: Obertraun is a small city (approx. 800 people). The hotel is in front of the lake with a wonderful view. It provides a very helpful free bus pass to the region (Hallstatt etc). The owner is very helpful and kind. It’s a family business run with much care and respect for the guest. Check in: excellent. The time for check in is between 15:00-19:00. The management of the hotel emailed me telling me this and asking me to tell in advance if I would arrive after 19:00 because they would put the keys in a place where I could pick it. I arrived early, and I saw in the entrance of the hotel a key locker where the late guests can just put a code and pick the key. Moreover, when I booked the room in Expedia, there was also a warning about the time to check in. Therefore, it’s just a matter of the guest pay attention and contact in advance. Mr. Meinrad was very kind and attentive in the check in. Staff: I really don’t understand those who complained. The owner of the hotel is extremely kind and helpful. He was always very patient to help to advise the best places to go in the area. His wife was also very kind. It’s very clear how much they care for the hotel and do their best to receive well the guests. I think that guests also need to analyses themselves before complaining about small things and make a storm in a teacup. Location: the hotel is located in Obertraun which is a neighbor city of Hallstatt. It’s very easy to go to Hallstatt from there, and the hotel provides you free public transport in the region (bus). It is also located in front of the lake and the view is gorgeous! Bear in mind that Obertraun has approximately 800 inhabitants, so don’t go expecting to have a coffee in Starbucks etc. Even though, once again, Mr. Meinrad, very kindly, offered to prepare a coffee in the evening while he was there. There is a restaurant (I think the whole city only has two or three) near the hotel. Breakfast: with all do respect, I think some guests when travel become “breakfast Master chefs”. I always say, is the breakfast better or worst compared to the one that you have in your house? The breakfast was good! Juice, coffee, cappuccino, bread, cheese, ham, yogurt etc. If you want to have a five stars Michelin breakfast you need to be willing to pay for that. In this sense, I didn’t have any problem with the breakfast and the restaurant also has a great view of the lake and the mountains. Room: I stayed in a room with a view to the lake. I was with my travel group in Abtenau in May 2022! We spent a few wonderful days at Hotel Post! I can rightly say that it was the best thing I have met in my almost 48 years (as a tour manager of our association)! To highlight individual areas of hotel service would not be a complete response, because the correspondence was already very, familiarly passed in the planning! At the arrival we were warmly welcomed by Mr. Windhofer and his service staff and the room distribution and baggage transfer went smoothly and quickly! On the evening we first enjoyed different smack ＞ The first dinner was a gaume explosion that would have surprised gourmet experts and enchanted a good-willing smile on their lips! This experience continued the whole week at breakfast at dinner and buffet evening! The kitchen and service would be worth a gourmet guide with at least 3 stars! The staff's friendliness and helpfulness is also highlighted! There were no wishes that were not satisfied with the travel group more than fulfilled! Also the size and equipment of the rooms and the cleanliness of the pool - /Wellnesseinrichtung as well as the entire atmosphere of the Hotel Post has earned its 4 stars more than it! We will come back in the coming year (private with friends)!

The hotel is modern and in an excellent location, with great facilities including a really good restaurant and an amazing breakfast offering with so much choice. Rooms are spacious with large wardrobe spaces and the hotel is very clean and tidy throughout. All the staff are friendly, helpful and efficient....with a special mention for waitress Anna in the bar & restaurant whose english was superb and her service levels were off the chart! Highly recommend it as a superb base for visiting the Austrian Lake District.

Cleanliness - TOP Friendliness and service - TOP Gastronomy & food - TOP Wellness area - TOP Points of criticism, hence 1 point deduction: from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. there is no possibility to drink coffee or another drink. There is a vitality bar in the wellness area which is stocked with water and tea. If you want another drink or a coffee in the afternoon, you have to leave the hotel and go to a nearby restaurant. In the wellness area, for example, you cannot have an infusion in the Finnish sauna.

Only 6-7mins walk from the train station. Surrounded by the restaurants and cafes. Toilet and bedroom are clean. Only things to complain is the water pressure and no personal locker in room.
