Hotel Riu Cabo Verde - All Inclusive Adults Only

Just the standard RUI Hotel setup…unable to get a booking in any of the specialty restaurants. Buffet restaurants the same repetitive food. Polite cleaning staff. Reception staff need to be more customer focussed I arrived at 8pm given a keycard and a map and pointed in the direction of the room…no one to help with baggage. Requested late checkout on the RUI app had it confirmed and then I find keycard not working on the day after spending the morning by the pool headed to reception was told I should have requested this at reception…at no point in time did the app state this. I was told that the bell boy had put a note under my door..that’s ok if I could actually get into the room to read it, but there was no note ! Would not say this is a 5* hotel more a 4*.

We are currently staying at this lovely hotel. We weren’t sure what to expect because of the negative reviews, but we quickly learnt that you can’t please everyone. Yes the rooms are tired and need a bit of TLC, but are you going on holiday to stay in your room? NO, well one would hope not. It’s a fairly biggish resort, so you get your steps in. I’m not sure why people are moaning about the sun bed situation. Yes, there are those people who reserve them and don’t appear all day, but we found you could still get beds by 9am. Food is good for all inclusive. The staff are lovely, so friendly and very beautiful! The app is great. We ordered some more drinks and they were delivered 10 minutes later. Quick check in. All in all, I would recommend this resort. And it’s definitely no stress!

Very good hotel, staff were good, hotel very clean. Also food and entertainment were very good. Only problems were not enough sun beds as the hotel was probably nearly full. I’ve stayed at the Rui Funana, which share some of the facilities a few times which I enjoyed each time, so thought I would try the adult only one next door. Did a day trip, the island tour, extremely good.

I booked this holiday as a surprise, I was miss sold by TUI at the time they claimed it was a 4 to 5 star hotel that sold premium drinks , this is far from the truth it’s a 3 star maximum , during our experience at this hotel there is a lot of cats while your having your dinner at the stake house restaurant, walking between your feet and greeding from your plates . They keep them there to keep the rats at bay …….. yes rats . The sun loungers are dirty and stained but however you do get towels from the desk to cover them up . Don’t be fooled by TUI as from my experience with them they don’t want to know once I’ve complained they just fob you off disgusting really ….::::..

Just spent two weeks here at riu cabo verde and do not want to go home. Had a great time, staff were absolutely AMAZING (and I mean every single member of staff we came across) so friendly and always willing to help if needed. Big shout out to animation staff member DJAMILIA (hope I've spelt that right) she was brilliant, always friendly and funny and was really good at getting everyone involved in the games etc. Food was great! Best selection of foods in the buffet restaurant lots of variety than any other riu ive been too, drinks where good. The only complaint (if you would call it that) I've got is the sunbeds around the swimming pool, there didn't seem to be enough for everyone, and if you wasn't out at stupid o'clock putting your towels on beds your not getting one all day!! It's the worst hotel I've ever been too for just that one situation, I was going to give 4 stars because of that, but because the staff are so amazing I can't not give 5.

Every single staff member works so hard to ensure the best holiday. They cannot do enough for the guests. Huge shout out to Joziana who is the hardest worker and keeps the food area spotless. Please try also the steak House and Italian restaurants. Service and food exceptional. Pool was great, but more sunbeds needed. I spent many hours just enjoying calming swimming. The rooms were well serviced and if we needed anything we asked and it arrived. Hope to visit again one day.

Hotel was spotless, room very clean, comfortable and had new towels when required. Pool was lovely, although the sun beds do need to be cleaned, very grubby. Could do with a bleach sanitizer. Buffet food was so good we didn’t go to the restaurants. Staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely holiday.. weather was perfect. Only downside was the cramped flight home with no legroom.

This hotel isnt conventionally bad and i’m going to sound like a right moaner with this review, however it is no where near the 5 star standard and is a 3 or 4 at a push. There is No a**osphere during the day other than entertainers coming to pool a couple of times a day doing their dance and then buggering off elsewhere so all there is to do other than drink in the pool bar which was great for the first few days but quickly got boring. I imagine there is more at the funnana but i paid for adults only and the hotel is advertised as having activities and entetainment… i dont want to have to go funnana and be around kids. I have seen them try do some pool games but the pool isnt big enough and it just looked rubbish. Food is ok at best, very poor quality for a 5 star hotel and often cold we’ve had still frozen fries and burger rolls, undercooked pink chicken and none of the signage above matches what the food is which I think is dangerous and i will be reporting this to TUI However I am not too fussy with food so i have been able to find something to eat others in my party have not always. Drinks are ok at best too, best drinks are in reception bar however seating is awful over there really uncomfortable and the bar closes way too early i expected this to be the 24 hour bar! I hate the fact if you want to have a drink late at night you have to go into the sister hotel which has the club and sports bar both are awful and nowhere nice to sit and talk amongst friends. Sunbeds have been a joke most of the last week not enough around pool for everyone and staff not pro-active stopping people saving loungers and then going elsewhere for hours on end. Today however there was plenty free so its not an everyday thing. Rooms are OK mini bar not filled up daily infact mine was only filled once in a week, cleaning standard is not what I expect from a 5 star and that applies throughout the hotel. Good points are the beach is lovely but red flags most days, The coffee Bar was good To top it off our last 2 days of the holiday the whole group has been down with sickness and diharrea!! Very disappointed with my visit and would not come to this hotel again, however i would visit the island again.

Just back from fantastic 2weeks stay here, clean and comfortable room with the best disabled bathroom ever. Staff were friendly and helpful, food good sure even fussiest eaters would be happy. If you have any disabilities this hotel is best I ever stayed in reserved tables in restaurants, see pool guy to get sunbed reserved no more towel wars. Even if you don’t need this you’ll have great time at this hotel. Yes there are some fly’s but get them here in uk so don’t see the problem just relax and enjoy No Stress!!
