"I was on the twelfth floor, with the window facing Ginza. There wasn't much to see, just other buildings. Everything else about the hotel has already been covered by other reviews, so I won't repeat it. I did like the little stool in the bathroom; it was very stable for sitting down to do makeup and blow-dry my hair. At night, I could hear the trains. It was the JR line, rattling past every few minutes, and the bed would actually shake. Later, I realized these were the 3 rounds of earthquakes we experienced over 2 days. The JR line only stopped from 1 AM to 4 AM, and those few hours were quiet. The rest of the time, it was constant noise. If you're sensitive to noise, you'll definitely need earplugs. The room wasn't soundproof. I could clearly hear someone next door yelling at their child – they were foreigners, and I couldn't understand what they were saying. The pillows were too soft. My head sank right to the bottom as soon as I lay down, and I had to fluff them up every time I turned over. On the bright side, room service could be ordered a day in advance. I tried the Japanese style breakfast. The buffet on the seventeenth floor always had a long line, so I skipped that crowd and had them deliver it to my room instead, which was much more convenient."

Hotel near Ueno/Asakusa/Ryougoku,Tokyo
Open March 1, 2016! A 1 minute walk from Keisei Ueno Station, or a 3 minute walk from JR Ueno Station!

"I recently stayed at this hotel for two nights. The location is definitely one of its strongest points. It’s close to Ueno Park, and the park view from the hotel is truly amazing. There are also plenty of late-night food options nearby, which makes it very convenient - specially if you arrive late. The room size is quite small, but that’s fairly typical for this area and price range, so it wasn’t a surprise. However, I did face an issue on the first night. I had booked this hotel specifically for its location and view, and I was scheduled to arrive late at night. When I reached the hotel around 3am, I was informed that my room was unavailable due to overbooking. This was very confusing and disappointing, as I had a confirmed reservation. The hotel arranged for me to stay at another branch for that night and covered the taxi fare both ways the next morning. While I appreciate that they handled the transportation cost and tried to resolve the situation, it was still inconvenient. I chose this branch for its location and had business commitments the next day, so having to move between branches cost me valuable time and energy. That said, the hotel itself is still nice overall, and both the reception staff and the manager genuinely tried their best to assist and support me during the situation."

"The service here is exceptionally good. The rooms are spacious and clean, and even the bathroom area has heated floors. Personally, I prefer the large living room suite over the one with the scenic bathtub. This was my second stay. Because it was Japan's Golden Week holiday, the breakfast buffet had a queue in the morning, but the food was delicious. This time, I also tried the French breakfast, which was just okay and not as good as the buffet. I also experienced the pool, which was great. It's located on the 27th floor of another building and also has a spa. The lane is narrow, so only one person can swim at a time, and there's a 40-minute limit. However, there's a lane specifically for walking in the water, which seems popular with elderly Japanese people. I tried it too; it was difficult at first, but after learning the movements from the Japanese seniors, you need to coordinate your hands and feet to walk steadily and quickly. The changing rooms are very clean and have spin dryers (Japanese spin dryers are excellent; they remove most of the water in about 5 seconds, much better than those in high-end hotels back home, and they're spotless). It's quiet and conducive to sleep; I slept 10 hours every night. There's a layer of blackout curtains, so no issues with light. I love it and it's my top choice for hotels in Tokyo. I'll be checking in again at the end of the month. The only drawbacks are that it's a bit far from the subway and it's on a hill, so you have to walk up a slope. I'm not sure why the road near the US Consulate was closed on May 1st. Within a 10-minute walk, there are many restaurants, and it's very close to Suntory Hall (I went there for a concert). Guests can visit the Okura Museum for free, which houses exquisite Chinese artifacts. Japanese people enjoy visiting it; this time it was lacquerware, last time it was ceramics."

"This hotel is incredibly convenient, located right above the JR station and connected to a shopping mall with stores like Uniqlo and Muji. There's a grocery store on the basement level with super affordable sashimi and sushi. You can easily walk to the Red Brick Warehouse and Yamashita Park by the sea, making for a pleasant evening stroll. While the breakfast selection isn't huge, everything is delicious. Each floor has an ice machine and vending machines. For a hotel in Japan at this price point, the rooms are quite spacious, and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. It's super easy to get to places like Kamakura, Odawara, or even Tokyo from here, and all the main attractions in Yokohama itself are within walking distance. Compared to the InterContinental I stayed at last time I was in Yokohama, this place offers so much more value for money; the InterContinental was triple the price for one night! It's also more cost-effective than staying in Tokyo, where hotels generally offer even less value. Highly recommend!"

"This hotel is super easy to find, directly connected to Terminal 3, which is incredibly convenient for international flights. The 'themed rooms' are essentially just deluxe twin rooms of the same size, but with a theme added. The 'little seal' themed room was fantastic; my child absolutely loved it! It also came with breakfast, hot spring tickets, and a toy, making it excellent value for money. My only wish is that the themed rooms were a bit more spacious. Also, the breakfast restaurant is on the first floor and a little hard to locate."
