Hot! Hot! Hot!
The overall feeling is hot!
When I entered the elevator from the underground garage, I felt the heat. Because there was no ventilation, there were all kinds of smells. I thought it was normal that there was no air conditioning in the elevator. When I got out of the elevator to the lobby, it was still stuffy. The front desk was wearing a suit. I thought about their working environment... I booked a river view room, which was relatively high. When I opened the door, there was another odor. The air conditioner was turned to the lowest level, but it still couldn't be turned down. I called for a long time, half an hour, and no one came. Later, I called again with a tough tone. A maintenance guy came immediately. After a quick look, he said on the intercom that he asked his colleagues to lower the main valve by 10 degrees. I didn't understand. For such a large hotel, because the occupancy rate was not high, the air conditioner was reluctant to turn down. That's what he meant. Then he left, but helped us open the small window a little bit, a little gap for ventilation. Thank him. Then after a long time, I still couldn't get through. I went to communicate again and they said they could change us to a suite, but it hadn't been cleaned yet, at least for more than an hour. I want to ask if your hotel only has this one suite. Isn't this disgusting? And it's almost four o'clock. What are we doing in these few hours? We were just on a short vacation, and we really don't want to bother.
I was very angry and went out for a walk. I walked along the river and felt refreshed. I didn't want to go back to that room. I also went to a nearby KTV to sing for three hours (the air conditioner was whirring). I had to go back after dinner.
It was still hot. I turned off the whirring air purifier when I went to bed at night, and the smell of the decoration was even stronger. I didn't sleep well all night. I went to have breakfast. The breakfast room was stuffy and the tables and chairs were very tight and cramped, and guests would bump into them when they walked around.
Actually, we were very satisfied with this room at the beginning. The moment we opened the curtains, the whole screen was full of river water. Lying on the bed at night and looking at the calm river surface was very healing. The hotel parking is also convenient. It is very photogenic to stroll along the river. There is a shopping mall nearby where you don’t have to worry about food and drink. You can walk to the Fort Park to play in ten minutes. Everything is pretty good. The only problem is the air conditioning. Can it be solved?

I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for the outstanding service and care we received during our recent stay at Cordis, Shanghai from April 17 to April 19. Although we encountered some challenges during our trip, your exceptional team—especially the remarkable young lady whom I believe to be a senior supervisor or manager—immediately sprang into action, resolving our concerns swiftly and effortlessly within hours. Thanks to your professionalism and dedication, our journey was beautifully saved, allowing us to fully enjoy our stay.
Beyond your impeccable service, everything about our experience was truly delightful. The room was in excellent condition, offering both comfort and elegance, while the coffee was a wonderful touch of indulgence. What truly took our breath away was the spectacular sunrise view from both the living room and bedroom—an unforgettable sight that made our mornings feel magical.
Your unwavering commitment to excellence has left a lasting impression on us, and without a doubt, we will be returning to Cordis on our future visits to Shanghai. As a delightful personal touch, my daughter absolutely adores the fluffy Cody Red Panda—her new cherished bedtime companion.
Thank you once again for making our stay not only seamless but truly special.
