MM482093****I checked in on the evening of January 16th and could see the Peace Hotel's green emerald roof from afar, which was quite dazzling and spectacular. Every staff member at the hotel was incredibly warm, meticulous, and thoughtful, speaking softly and making me feel like a spring breeze. The front desk proactively upgraded my room. Upon entering, I found the air conditioning already turned on to a comfortable temperature, slippers placed by the bed, and a welcome fruit platter prepared. It truly felt like a home away from home. The performance by the elderly jazz band was fantastic; the singer had a beautiful voice and great audience interaction. The bartender provided excellent service, flexibly adapting to individual requests. The bar had a great atmosphere, and I loved the song request segment; it got even better as the night went on. The breakfast at the Jasmine restaurant on the morning of the 17th was also excellent, with both Chinese and Western options available. I particularly recommend the smoked salmon; it was perfectly marinated and served with a mild Dijon mustard that wasn't overpowering or spicy. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!

MM57307****My recent trip to Shanghai led me to choose Zuo Ting Hotel, and it completely exceeded my expectations! The hotel's location is a huge plus – just a few minutes' walk to the subway station, making it incredibly convenient for reaching major attractions like The Bund and Yu Garden, or even just for daily dining. There's also a 24-hour convenience store nearby, so grabbing water or snacks is effortless, saving both time and hassle. What surprised me most was the in-room kitchenette. Although I didn't get a chance to cook this time, the complete setup offers great flexibility, especially for families or those who prefer to prepare simple meals. The iPad in the room was another unexpected bonus; it was easy to use for checking hotel services or looking up travel tips, adding a high-tech touch. The bed quality was exceptional – soft, skin-friendly, and luxurious. After a long day, lying down felt instantly relaxing, guaranteeing a great night's sleep. The oversized bathtub design was very thoughtful, allowing for both showers and baths. Even though I didn't use it this time, just seeing it brought a sense of comfort. Even the comb was elegantly designed; every detail showed care, and the overall ambiance was warm and comfortable, making for an exceptionally pleasant stay. The staff's service was also incredibly warm. They were consistently gentle and professional, responsive to requests, and even proactively shared travel tips. This hotel offers excellent value for money; its convenient location, comprehensive facilities, and thoughtful details make it an ideal choice for a trip to Shanghai. I will definitely stay here again next time!

FFLiuliuHidden Gem, a Shanghai hotel, a shining example of a Chinese brand under the Jinjiang brand. Facilities: Renovated in 2004 and reopened in March 2005, the facilities are impeccable. The decor is remarkably Shanghainese, complete with Siemens appliances and Kohler bathroom fixtures. The toiletries are from the time-honored Chinese brand Shanghai Tang, creating a sophisticated oriental feel. Environment: The hotel building dates back to 1920, later becoming the Jing'an Hotel. A century later, it was restored to its original name, ”Haige Apartment.” While retaining the charm of old Shanghai, the interior has been renovated. The hotel is located near Jing'an Temple, about a five-minute walk away, and is close to a subway exit. The large lawn at the entrance is a rare find in such a prime location. The on-site fitness center is compact and not particularly professional, but it's adequate. Service: The staff are friendly and professional. They'll check on your luggage before check-in, as the hotel entrance is a flight of steps, making it difficult to manage without assistance. Breakfast is a buffet option, with both Western omelets and Chinese wontons available. A model of hotel renovation, the best choice to experience Shanghai style!

11338628****Stayed at Xingguo Hotel on Huashan Road during New Year's Eve. The panoramic twin room was part of a package deal I booked earlier: 2 nights, including breakfast for two, flexible stay (can be consecutive or split), excellent value for money. The main building is well-located, and both the room and bathroom are spacious, offering panoramic views. Looking out the window, you can see Huashan Road and Xingguo Road below, providing a fantastic view. It's an old villa-style building nestled in a quiet area amidst the hustle and bustle, and the ancient trees in the garden are very well preserved 🌹. I also love the room's style. The buffet breakfast at Camphor Garden is truly authentic 👍: the chef team largely consists of local Shanghainese chefs, and both the Chinese and Western dishes are amazing. Among Shanghai's five-star hotels, if you're looking for breakfast that still evokes the authentic taste of old Shanghai, Xingguo Hotel is definitely the top choice 👍👍. That's why whenever I want to stay in the city, Xingguo Hotel is often my preferred option. My only complaint is about the hotel's buffet dinner: the food quality simply can't compare to breakfast. It was truly mediocre.

AAnonymous UserCompletely exceeded expectations! Two days before my arrival, the hotel staff proactively reached out. The culture and tourism butler, Ethan, was incredibly detailed and thoughtful in his preparations, even going as far as to ask if my stay was for an anniversary or birthday – that really surprised me. Learning that my birthday was approaching, he specially arranged a small, tasteful decoration. It wasn't overly fancy or gimmicky, just simple and cozy. The check-in process was also very comfortable. A kind lady from the library promptly brought warm tea and snacks, and Ethan personally guided me through, soothing any first-time jitters. I had read reviews about having to go up and down stairs and was worried my mother might find it inconvenient, but after experiencing it, I found the room layout to be very sensible. It was far better than the previous hotel, where I could get lost without even climbing stairs. Upon entering, the subtle aroma was pleasant, and the entire space was bright and clean. The pavilion room was converted into an audiovisual room, the minibar was well-stocked, and when I turned on the TV with the White Rabbit comic series, my mom immediately fell in love. Breakfast was à la carte, with perfect portions and fresh, delicious food. The pre-meal croissant was incredibly crispy. Returning to the room, there was another surprise! Besides the small cake on the first day, there was a proper cake on the second – they are truly so enthusiastic! All the staff members were smiling, friendly, diligent, and responded very quickly. Ethan, especially, replied to messages in seconds. I've experienced other culturally themed hotels converted from old buildings in different cities before, but none have impressed us as much as this one. That evening, my mom immediately decided to change our flights and return here for an extra night after our remaining itinerary. If we didn't have other plans, we would have extended our stay directly. Overall, the value for money is incredibly high. We had a wonderful and unforgettable night here, and we will undoubtedly choose this place again on our next visit to Shanghai!

YYPluotuoThe owner of the villa, Moller, was born in China, yearned for sea voyages, and loved horses and horse racing. The architecture reflects these elements. During WWII, the Japanese sent this wealthy Jewish family, who was both a big earner and a big spender, to a concentration camp. The Moller Villa Hotel, renovated and expanded by Hengshan Group, opened in May 2002. Currently, the main building houses suites, the annex building offers 'style rooms,' and the new building has standard rooms. I chose a style room in the annex building, and the front desk staff was very considerate, letting me pick a corner suite that was larger. The annex building is a bit older (flooring and ground surfaces), and the room rate isn't cheap, but the room decor is distinctive, especially the castle-style windows and curtains. An executive lounge card was included. Although the afternoon tea was simple, the butterfly pastries, molten chocolate cookies, and soft-filled sandwich cookies were exquisite and delicious. Breakfast varieties were limited; there was no oat milk or pasta, and the bacon was too hard. However, they did have crystal shrimp dumplings. I later noticed small wontons, which looked good with their soft and chewy skins. Moller Villa is very photogenic and definitely worth a visit for pictures.

MM19065****After all, it's an old Shanghai hotel, so the atmosphere is quite strong. The service was very thoughtful; they upgraded my room and even gave me fruit and a minibar. The location is unbeatable, with a subway station right outside the entrance. The bathroom had a slight odor, but the air freshener helped cover it.

__fengguoliufeng_Service: Very professional. The hotel staff were experienced, polite, and efficient, responding quickly to guest needs. They understood what guests wanted even from just a few words – as we say in Shanghai, 'lao ling ge' (super excellent). Environment: A tranquil oasis amidst the hustle and bustle. The hotel's main entrance faces the southeast gate of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, making it the absolute best choice for anyone visiting the Conservatory or attending a performance. IAPM is about 400 meters away, offering shopping, gourmet food, and a City Supermarket, all easily accessible by subway. The hotel's courtyard isn't large, but it has a tennis court and a small garden, creating a charming, old-Shanghai ambiance. Cleanliness: Standard. The hotel isn't new, but it's clean and bright, making for a comfortable stay. Facilities: No bedside outlets, which was quite inconvenient. You also need a second room card to activate the power when you enter, which is a bit of a hassle. The direct Wi-Fi connection was a plus. The hairdryer was old and not very effective. However, the complimentary bottled water in the room was plentiful and good. Other amenities like the air conditioning and water temperature were comfortable, no issues there.
