MoYu Movie Hotel (Shanghai People's Square Nanjing West Road subway station)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) I stayed at Moyu Movie Hotel Shanghai for 7 nights, and I had an excellent experience. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. They even accepted my Taobao packages, which made my stay much more convenient. The housekeeping service was outstanding. My room was cleaned every day without me having to request it. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. I especially loved the modern automatic toilet, and the shampoo and body wash smelled wonderful. Another great feature was the free self-service laundry, and they even provided free laundry detergent, which was a huge bonus for a longer stay. The location is also very convenient. The hotel is close to the MRT station, making it easy to get around Shanghai. It is also only about a 15-minute walk to the LV The Place (LV Ship), which is a great spot to visit. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my stay. Everything exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely choose Moyu Movie Hotel Shanghai again when I visit Shanghai. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and conveniently located place to stay.

Choosing the right accommodation truly elevated our Disney experience! The hotel's location is superb, making dining, entertainment, and transportation incredibly convenient. The room hygiene was impeccable; it was so clean and tidy that we felt completely relaxed. The front desk staff were attentive and reliable, making check-in a breeze, and they were proactive in resolving any requests we had. The complimentary shuttle service to and from Disneyland was a thoughtful touch, making transport hassle-free. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and the toiletries were high-quality, offering a great user experience. We also enjoyed the free massage chairs in the lobby, along with freshly ground coffee and daily brewed plum juice available at all times. On a night we returned late from the park, our clothes hadn't dried, and a staff member thoughtfully offered to dry and fold them for us. This level of detailed service truly made our stay exceptionally comfortable.

My child had an exam nearby, so I wanted to find a close place to rest. I'd seen this hotel being renovated and thought I'd give it a try. I arrived earlier than my check-in time and asked if there was an available room I could get into sooner. I ended up waiting about 10 minutes until a room was ready, and then they gave me the key card. Upon entering, it was clear the room had just been cleaned – the floor was still wet, a sign it had just been mopped. It had a smart toilet, and I didn't use the shower. The hand soap was verbena-scented, and there were two bottles of Nongfu Spring bottled water. Being on the side facing the residential area, it was relatively quiet. The air conditioning was powerful. The TV was a Skyworth smart TV, which allowed for on-demand content and screen mirroring. There's a small booth seating area with cushions and a small coffee table in the room, which is great for eating and means you're not just confined to the bed. Everything I've mentioned so far was satisfactory, but now for a pretty critical issue. As shown in image three, this huge bag of trash was left outside my door from 10 AM until 2:30 PM. It was ridiculous. Every time I went in or out, I could smell the garbage. There's actually a partition between rooms a bit further down; if it had been placed even 5 or 10 meters further away, I wouldn't have had to complain. This was particularly disappointing. The trash caused significant air pollution and was a very unpleasant experience. I hope the hotel takes this seriously and properly trains and assesses its service staff.

Remark: My parents stayed in these rooms. Since we are family group traveler, the review shall be the same for the Hotel. Overall Ji Hotel (Shanghai Xujiahui) left a wonderful impression on me, largely thanks to the excellent service and warm welcome from the receptionist. The quality is definitely worth the price. A solid 8/10 overall! Introduction My family and I arrived exhausted around 9:00 PM on May 20, 2026. Because the hotel was full, our Queen room wasn’t ready. The receptionist quickly offered a twin room instead, suggesting we push the beds together for a massive sleeping space. We gladly accepted! The next day, she confirmed the hotel would absorb any price difference—we didn't pay a cent extra. She also offered my family (4 adults, 1 child) a breakfast promotion that was an incredible deal. Huge shoutout to this female receptionist; she solved problems on the fly and managed our expectations perfectly. Criteria & Elements Room (8/10) For our first 3 nights in room 8326, we noticed some dust under the beds when we pushed them together. The next day, housekeeping cleaned it up perfectly. For our last 3 nights in room 8312, everything was spotless! Bathroom (8.5/10) Wonderfully spacious! The soap dispenser shelf is a bit small, but we absolutely loved the shower. The water pressure was fantastic, and the temperature was super easy to adjust. Sleep Quality (9.5/10) The room gets pitch black, and the soundproofing is quite satisfying. You might hear a tiny bit of hallway noise, but nothing major. We specifically chose Xujiahui instead of crowded places like Nanjing Lu to avoid loud street noise, and it was wonderfully peaceful. Location & Commuting (9.5/10) This hotel hit the jackpot for our family (traveling with a child and elderly members). It’s a 650m walk to the Metro, 250m to a dining mall, and just 120m to a lovely park for our morning walks. Easily our favorite thing about the hotel! Breakfast (8/10) The staff kindly let us eat before the official 7:00 AM start, which was a lifesaver on busy mornings. The food covers all five groups but leans heavily toward veggies, eggs, and carbs. Tip for improvement: Adding more meat variety would cater better to working adults and teenagers needing extra protein and energy. My favorite part was the warm ”human touch”—seeing friendly hotel staff and guests eating together harmoniously. You rarely find that in Western hotels! Security (10/10) Because it's not a massive property, the staff can easily recognize guests. Plus, the elevators require a keycard for your specific floor. We felt 100% safe. Cigarette Smell (5/10) This is a serious issue for my family and the only reason we wouldn't return. Despite booking a non-smoking room on Trip.com, room 8326 smelled like smoke. My parents' room (8328, nights of May 26-27) also had a very strong cigarette smell. Furthermore, we frequently caught the smell of cigarette smoke coming from some of the rooms while walking down the hallway. I'm giving a 5/10 because our last room (8312) was fine. Friendly suggestion: If a booking explicitly says ”Smoke-free treatment required,” it needs strict enforcement, especially for foreign families. In Conclusion Overall, I'm highly satisfied with the value and amazing reception service (8/10). The cigarette smell is the only thing preventing us from making this our go-to choice. However, if you're a solo business traveler who doesn't mind the occasional smell of smoke, this hotel will be a fantastic fit!

This hotel, located at 555 Fuzhou Road in Huangpu District, is an excellent base for exploring Shanghai. It's within walking distance of The Bund and Nanjing Road, yet it cleverly avoids the crowds, offering a quiet haven amidst the bustle. Beyond its prime location, the service is equally impressive – the front desk staff are polite, professional, and genuinely warm. The diverse international guests frequently seen in the lobby not only attest to the hotel's popularity but also create a unique global atmosphere. Whether you're seeking to experience Old Shanghai charm or feel the pulse of the modern city, this is an ideal and stylish place to stay, offering both comfort and character.

The hotel is very close to the West Coast International Exhibition Center, about a ten-minute taxi ride. I stayed here for four nights during my business trip for an exhibition. I wanted to switch to a room with a window halfway through my stay, and they smoothly accommodated the change. The cleanliness was also good.

It was pretty good. They offer free shuttle service to and from the airport, the price was reasonable, and breakfast was delicious. The front desk staff were all young and friendly, and check-in was very quick. The room was spacious and quiet. The only downside is that it's a bit far from the airport, about a 30-minute shuttle ride, but I was informed of this when I called beforehand. Overall, it's great value for money. My city is only a 2-hour drive from Pudong Airport, but for a good night's rest and to avoid the risk of traffic jams, staying overnight is more suitable for early morning or late-night flights.

I was very satisfied with my choice of this hotel for my Shanghai trip! The location is in the heart of the city center, just a few minutes' walk to Nanjing East Road subway station, very close to the Bund's architectural complex, and convenient for Huangpu River cruises, which saved a lot of time. The room was clean and tidy, the bathroom was dry and odor-free, and the mattress had just the right firmness, allowing for a good rest after a day of sightseeing. The front desk staff provided attentive and thoughtful service. There are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, making dining, drinking, and entertainment very easy. Overall, the stay experience was excellent. This chain brand hotel is trustworthy and a top choice for travel accommodation.

Overall, my stay was incredibly satisfying. I compared several hotels before choosing this one, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, handling check-in and check-out very efficiently. They patiently and thoroughly answered all my questions, which made for a great service experience. The room was spotlessly clean and tidy, fresh and odor-free inside, with soft and comfortable bedding – perfect for a good rest after a busy day. The hotel's 'one item for one yuan' laundry service was incredibly practical. It was great to be able to wash all the accumulated dirty clothes from my trip here. The price was affordable, and it was easy to use, significantly lightening my travel load. The hotel also has a large parking lot, making it very convenient for guests traveling by car. The hotel is surrounded by a wealth of amenities. Various restaurants and convenience stores are all close by, offering plenty of dining and shopping options, and transportation is also quite convenient. The in-room Wi-Fi signal was stable, so I had no issues streaming videos or working. Overall, the value for money is excellent, and I felt completely at ease during my stay. It's suitable for both leisure travel and short business trips. The entire experience was pleasant and stress-free. I'll definitely prioritize booking this hotel again when I return to the area and will recommend it to friends and family who are traveling.

Good location, near metro, like that can do taobao shipping but we can go find our parcel ourselves in storeroom(some hotel staff will help to find for u). Very busy hotel. Since they R so busy they will call to remind U in morning to check out before 12pm. They have a lot of ppl wishing to enter before 12pm , since they keep having ppl calling to ask if can check in earlier during our check out. 😅 Can see they r so busy everyday so many luggage at waiting area after check out. Very small size room but workable space for two small luggage. If U have many or very big suitcase then it may be very cramped. Went to Shanghai to celebrate anniversary but other hotels we stayed gave us better hospitality. I will skip breakfast as it was average. If not fuss and want convenience of location, U can consider this hotel.
