MM27221****We booked a suite, including executive lounge access, for our New Year's Eve stay with family, including a one-year-old, hoping for a more relaxed experience. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed, mainly due to the executive lounge and cleanliness. 1. **Executive Lounge:** * Having stayed at many hotels, this is the first time I've heard of executive lounge privileges ending from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM (or 5 PM). * It's a set menu, not a buffet, with one set per room. It mostly consists of very ordinary small desserts, which my elderly parents couldn't eat due to health reasons. * There was only one staff member in the executive lounge, handling everything from front desk reception to making coffee and serving afternoon tea. She was so busy she was practically running. We waited almost half an hour for our desserts to be served. We had high expectations for the executive lounge, but it was a big letdown. 2. **Cleanliness:** With a young child who is still learning to walk and a bit unsteady, we noticed quite large, visible dust bunnies on the floor, almost like clumps of dirt. 3. **Other Aspects:** * We booked two suites and specifically requested not to have rooms at the very end or beginning of the hall. Upon arrival, we were told this room type is inherently at the ends. We weren't informed of this beforehand; otherwise, I could have changed the room type directly. * Given it was a special holiday, I proactively contacted the butler for a small gift. To my surprise, when I went to the front desk and asked if they had any pony plush toys, I was told they were all gone. It's a bit disappointing for them to be out so early in the New Year. * The parking directions given by the front desk were incorrect. Despite these issues, the butler who served us had an excellent attitude, proactively brought a New Year's Eve cake, and responded very promptly on WeChat. Thumbs up for their service!

AAmy Nuengruthai PathumwongseAs this is The Ritz-Carlton, expectations are naturally high — and they were certainly met. From the moment I arrived, the check-in experience was warm and welcoming, accompanied by genuine smiles. I would especially like to compliment Chris (I remember her name because it reminds me of Christmas). She was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and thoughtful, showing true attentiveness and care. Her service perfectly reflected the high standards and gracious hospitality that The Ritz-Carlton is known for. One small tip for future guests: it may be best to avoid corner rooms. While they are comfortable, the view can be limited, and the room door is very close to the neighboring room. You may occasionally hear noise when the neighboring door opens or closes. Aside from this minor point, everything else was perfectly fine.

FFENG ZHENGI checked in quite late, but the front desk attendant was very patient. After getting to my room, I couldn't connect to the internet, so the front desk sent an engineer down specifically to help me. It was a great experience. Today, during checkout, my child was still showering at noon, so I called to request a late checkout. The front desk immediately extended it until 2 PM. A truly wonderful experience.

LLukasizaijizhoudaoI don't usually write reviews, but this time I genuinely feel compelled to leave a good one. Staying at ATHOUSE was an excellent choice. From the overall ambiance to the comfort and cleanliness, every single aspect met my expectations. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

AAnnisidelvxingbijiFacilities: Compared to some of the hotels in the old Bund area, Banyan Tree is a newcomer, so the overall facilities are newer. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, all over 60 square meters, which is excellent for this location. Service: When checking in, since there weren't two adjacent rooms available in our original booking (we were a family of 4 adults and 1 child), they proactively upgraded our room type. The service during our stay was also very attentive. As it was my husband's and mother-in-law's birthdays the day before and the last day of our stay, respectively, they even sent us a small cake, which was a very thoughtful touch. Ambiance: With Christmas approaching, the hotel already had a strong festive atmosphere, especially the Christmas tree in the garden. It looked absolutely beautiful when lit up at night and was perfect for photos, haha.

GGuest UserFirst time staying at this hotel. Had to top up a little to get a room with a view, but it was definitely worth it. Nothing like waking up to the view of Shanghai Pearl and Huangpu River everyday. Located at The Bund, hotel had a classic feel. Room was spacious and comfortable, and toilet comes with Japanese style bidet and seat warmer. Also includes complimentary minibar with Jagermeister, which was good for the cold weather. Hotel was generous with water, which was readily available at the lift lobby area at our floor. Only thing lacking in the room was probably the absence of hooks for towel and clothes in the toilet, a minor inconvenience. Hotel breakfast had a wonderful and delicious spread, including red and white wine. Did not get tired even after 3 consecutive days. Would recommend this hotel for those that like staying on The Bund but be prepared to pay for it.

GGuest UserI stayed at this hotel for one night during a business trip and overall had a smooth experience. The price is very reasonable, and the hotel itself is fairly ok. They also gave me an upgrade when I checked in, but I can’t say how that room was different to the one that I booked. The rooms and breakfast were both okay — nothing outstanding, but perfectly fine for a short stay. One of the highlights is the convenient location, with many dinner options nearby, which was great for our needs. I appreciated the welcome cookie, although it was quite hard and crumbly — a nice gesture, but not very tasty. One small inconvenience was that I couldn’t get a Chinese invoice (fapiao) directly at the hotel; instead, they told me to request it through the booking app, which I found a bit unusual. Despite these minor issues, it was an easy and pleasant stay. I would definitely consider staying here again if I need a hotel in this area at this price point.

GGuest UserNear to railway station. Major plus for our group. Train access was one of a key plus point too. Took cab however to most places we had a kid. Took a train to Jing An (3r per adult) and from Airport (7r per adult). Pretty convenient and affordable though didi wasn’t expensive. Food is meh at breakfast and Executive Lounge - pretty repetitive with a few changes here and there. International but of course still more Chinese food. Chinese food is too oily and heavy flavoured for our taste but that could be subjective. Front desk was decent. One of the concierge guys was pretty helpful. Hotel is modern, clean, beautiful hardware though. Breakfast is for two per room but could be added at 100r a day before or 130r on the day itself. Additional person for executives lounge access could be waived for a review though we didn’t utilize that. We had the executive suite room with large access. Huge room we are pretty satisfied. Our room looks out to the railway station which was wgreat for us as we were heading to Suzhou after Shanghai 30 mins HSR away. Walk is 5 mins away. The bathroom siding door couldn’t be locked as that was faulty. Dyson hairdryer. Huge bath space. Offered to convert sofa bed to bed without charge for that first so that was great. Not many big issues, I think we could stay again dude. Of course Shanghai has many great options as well, except for the food - wouldn’t order breakfast or get lounge access - would rather head out to eat. They provided cute, toddler bathrobe, toothbrush and guest room slippers - which made my kid happy. I would also suggest to add much needed potty related accessories including a step up stool. All good otherwise, will recommend. Room pictures look as as what is on Trip, so sorry no pictures taken.

MM510816****I have to give a shout-out to Rookie from the Waldorf Astoria concierge team! As a first-time visitor, he genuinely surprised me with his warm and patient assistance, even helping me send a package. Mark was incredibly patient and efficient throughout, helping me plan my Shanghai fashion shopping itinerary. With him around, I didn't have to worry about planning anything for my trip! Max's service was also excellent, helping me take photos. The Christmas decorations were absolutely stunning. I'll definitely look for them again on my next visit!

FFEIFISHYThis was my first time staying at the Andaz, and Peter checked me in. He seemed like a real food enthusiast and confidently told me their breakfast was excellent, urging me to try it on my first visit. He was absolutely right! The breakfast quality was very high, with a rich variety of both Chinese and Western options. If you went a bit later, there was even a queue. I was very satisfied with my stay overall. Thanks for everything, Peter!
