"The hotel room was decent in size—not too small and not too big. The toilet was equipped with a bidet, which was convenient. There is a convenience store nearby, making it easy to buy daily necessities. The room also had a good air purifier, which was a nice touch. However, there was no shower cap provided, and toiletries were limited to a toothbrush only. Overall, it was a comfortable stay with some minor amenities missing."

JJingjing0229We were very happy with our stay at the Mercure Shanghai Yu Garden while visiting Shanghai with our children! The location is absolutely fantastic – just a 5-minute walk to Yu Garden, which was perfect for enjoying the evening lantern displays and local snacks. The metro station is also nearby, making it super easy to get to the Bund and Nanjing Road. The hotel service was incredibly thoughtful. The front desk staff saw we had children and proactively offered kid-sized slippers and toiletries. Our room was clean and spacious, and the extra bed was comfortable, so our child slept soundly. The breakfast spread was extensive, and our kids particularly loved the mini wontons and freshly made noodles. What truly surprised us was how quiet the hotel was at night, despite being so close to a major tourist attraction. The front desk also offers a package receiving service, so we could have our purchases delivered directly to the hotel, which was a huge convenience. We’ll definitely stay here again on our next trip to Shanghai – it’s highly recommended for families traveling with kids!

Room: Fantastic Beds were huge & comfortable - we had an upgrade to a larger room. The shower and shower toiletries were so refreshing. Towels were lovely soft & clean. Breakfast was the best I have had for a long time. Lived the rice, fried eggs, noodles , fruit vegetables. Even clams one morning. Great variety of drinks. The chief and staff were very happy & helpful. Extremely clean. I used the laundry room which also had a tumble dryer. This was useful due to travelling on to Beijing afterwards. The other family rooms have slides and are duplex. Sue the swimming pool is great in the summer. Excellent price , excellent choice for Families going to Disneyland and other local trips. Loved being able to go along the local street to see Shanghai local food, shops and life. Seems to be a family run business which is lovely to support. Location is great for the local shops , food, 7/11 supermarket for snacks & drinks Restaurants and food for locals which was delicious and a great price. Shuttle bus excellent. Taxi ( Didi) was £3 back from Disneyland . £11 to Shanghai Greenhouse Gardens ( evening ticket £5.40) this is an amazing trip not to be missed.

GGuest UserAbsolutely thrilled with my stay! The room was small, but I absolutely adored it. It was spotlessly clean, and the mattress offered the perfect balance of firmness and softness. They even provided a selection of both memory foam and cotton pillows, which were incredibly comfortable. While the room had a ventilation system, it lacked a window, so it could feel a little stuffy at times, but it was perfectly acceptable. The bathroom and shower were kept immaculately clean, which was very reassuring. The hairdryer was also excellent – I forgot the brand, but I'm seriously considering buying one for myself, haha! They provided fresh disposable towels, disposable slippers, and bottled water daily. Plus, the lobby offered complimentary lemon water and hot tea. However, there was no designated area to hang or dry clothes. If you're on a multi-day trip, it's best to pack enough outfits for each day.

TthadesWe recommend this hotel! This is not a new hotel, so there was a bit of a smell when we came in, but after turning on the AC and opening the window a bit, it was easily solved. The other perks this hotel offers weight this small problem out quite easily. All hygiene items are offered free of charge, and you can ask for additional items (in addition to free water and coffee) anytime at the reception. The front desk staff is simply amazing! When we checked out, our child forgot her cellphone in the hall and one of the receptionists ran all the way to the subway entrance to give it back to us. The location of the hotel is also quite convenient, close to the subway and at a short driving distance from Shanghai’s main attractions. I would definitely stay here again!

SSuoFlareI've never willingly given a hotel a perfect five-star rating, but this one deserves it. The location is absolutely fantastic, right above IFC and surrounded by major shopping malls. It's just a few minutes' walk to the Disney Store, the Oriental Pearl Tower, and the Bund. Even though it's a 10-year-old hotel, you really have to stay here to understand just how incredibly well-maintained it is. The service is practically on-demand; they respond to almost any request incredibly quickly. While they don't automatically deliver takeout to your room, you can call concierge and they'll bring it up. The hotel breakfast offers a good variety, and everything tastes delicious. 'Variety' is relative, of course – it can't compare to places that specialize solely in breakfast, but it's very good nonetheless. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to any family or friends who need a place to stay in Shanghai.

HHunter Jackson TonyI booked the Novotel Shanghai Pudong Kangqiao for my classmates visiting Shanghai this time, and the experience absolutely exceeded expectations – I have to give it a glowing review! First off, its biggest highlight is the location. It's incredibly close to Disney! The hotel offers a dedicated free shuttle bus to Disney, which takes about ten minutes. This saves the hassle of taking a taxi or the subway, making it super convenient for those who want to get to the park early for queuing. Plus, the hotel also provides airport transfer services. My classmates were able to take the hotel's car directly from the airport, saving them the trouble of lugging luggage around and navigating, which was incredibly stress-free. I booked a family room for the three girls, and the space was very generous, not at all cramped. The beds were also just the right size and very comfortable to sleep in. The cleanliness of the room was impeccable; it was spotless, which made their stay very reassuring. The hotel environment is also excellent. The decor is modern and elegant, and the common areas are great for photos. My classmates mentioned that the lobby had a lovely fragrance, and the check-in process was very smooth. I must give a special shout-out to the service here. From communication during the booking process to fulfilling various needs during their stay, the staff were responsive and enthusiastic. My classmates accidentally left something in the room, and when they contacted the hotel, it was quickly found and safely kept, which made them feel very reassured. The only minor detail is that some facilities might not be the newest models, but they are very well-maintained and completely functional, not affecting the overall experience. All in all, this was a very successful booking experience. Whether it was the location, room comfort, or service level, everything was impeccable. It's especially suitable for friends visiting Disney – highly recommended! If I have friends coming to Shanghai again, I'll definitely choose this place!

AAnonymous UserThis was my second stay at the Waldorf Astoria, and this time it was for my birthday. Upon check-in, the front desk lady was very pleasant, but due to a backend issue, we were given the wrong room type 😂. It caused a bit of a delay, but we were in a hurry to go out, so I just took the new key card and left. The bellboy who helped with our luggage was also very nice. On check-out day, there were two ladies at the front desk. One was the same young lady who helped us check in the day before, and her attitude was truly excellent, no complaints – she had a sweet voice. However, the shorter lady standing next to her had a contrasting attitude; she acted as if she was superior and couldn't be bothered. Do I owe you something? When we left, this shorter, older lady didn't even say goodbye. It was the younger lady next to her who did. Is this how the hotel trains its employees? 🙂 Such an attitude. If you don't want to work, just go home.

MM305415****Fantastic experience! The service was excellent; they allowed us to check in early after the room was cleaned. I had asked about the location beforehand, and it truly is incredibly convenient for getting around. The guesthouse itself perfectly matches the pictures, and the environment is lovely, located in Jing'an Villa. It really gave us a taste of the authentic Shanghai alleyway experience. My friends and I had a wonderful time. We were very happy and look forward to staying here again if we get the chance!

AAnonymous UserBook this...the location is good - the Shanghai Railway Metro is within walking distance, and from there, you'll reach most tourist spots in only 2-5 stops. Transfers are convenient. We stayed for 6 nights, and the front desk and housekeeping staff were so accommodating. There's free bottled water, coffee, and tea at the lobby, plus other essentials. The twin Smart-AI room had an automated toilet, and the beds are as advertised (~1.5m), comfortable for 2 people to share. Blackout curtains help you get a good rest. You can also have your Taobao parcels delivered to the hotel. They have an area for this, and your package will be placed on the shelf based on your mobile's ending number. Your food delivery will be brought your door by a robot. This was a good stay, and we'd love to book this again for our next visit.
