After staying in the first room on the first night, I booked another room in the same hotel for the second night. This room was slightly more expensive (around 10 RMB more) but it had a window facing the road.
The room had all the same basic amenities as the first one, including Wi-Fi, slippers, dental kit, shower gel, towels, and a hairdryer. The cleanliness was also just as good. The room was very clean with no dust, and the bathroom was neat and well maintained.
Compared with the first room, this one was slightly larger and felt more comfortable mainly because of the window. The window provided natural light and ventilation, which made the room feel much more open and pleasant.
Overall, everything I mentioned in my previous review about the hotel—such as the cleanliness, basic amenities, reasonable price, and convenient location—also applies to this room. The only difference is that this room is slightly bigger and has a window, which makes it a bit more comfortable.
If you are deciding between the two, paying a little extra for the window room is worth it. It is still very affordable for this location and provides a more comfortable stay.

Guest UserI chose YunJianBar Hostel for my solo trip, and it completely exceeded my expectations! The overall decor has a wonderfully relaxed, cloud-like vibe, and the common area is quiet and therapeutic with amazing views from the window. Each bunk has a thick blackout curtain and individual charging port, ensuring maximum privacy. The cleaning staff tidies up daily, the bathrooms are odor-free, and the hot water is consistent. The owner even gave thoughtful recommendations for local, lesser-known spots. I met so many like-minded travelers here, and my solo travel loneliness completely disappeared. I'll definitely stay here again next time!

Guest UserThe location is great, very close to the subway station, making it convenient to get to The Bund and Nanjing Road. There are also plenty of dining options nearby. The hostel itself is quite clean; both the common areas and bathrooms are regularly tidied, which gives you peace of mind. The front desk staff are very friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. The hostel has a good atmosphere; you can sit and chat or relax in the lobby, which is perfect for solo travelers. The bunk beds have curtains, offering decent privacy, and there are sockets and a small light by the bed – everything you need is there. For this price in Shanghai, it's really excellent value for money. I'd definitely consider staying here again on my next visit.

HaskinsYou pay for the location, which was great, but we were really let down by this hostel. The staff were kind. There are only paper towels, which feels like such a waste, because you are using a new one everyday, and they don’t dry you at all. My partner, when getting out of the shower, slipped from a step and fell, hurting his wrist. We are lucky it wasn’t worse! There are no signs as you get out of the bathroom to tell you to be careful, which is very dangerous, I have tried to add pictures so the hostel can fix this. There is a sign in the shower that says ‘slippery surface’, which I must mention, but as you turn to get out there is nothing but a marble step that is very tall. There could be a very serious injury if they do not put another sign somewhere. Our room was clean, and had a window which was good, but there is no soundproofing at all. We understand this is an expensive fix, but the hostel does not provide earplugs. A family were packing their bags in the reception at 1am, lots of shouting (and a baby crying), and we could hear everything, even after asking them to be a bit quieter. It was so hard to sleep, which is disappointing considering we paid for the queen room, not a dorm. This is tough to write, because it’s a good location and kind staff, but I do not recommend staying here.

Guest UserThis place is truly a hidden 'paradise' right in the heart of Shanghai's fashion district! My favorite part is the large street-facing terrace on the third floor – it's super relaxing to just sit there, feel the evening breeze, and zone out. It's also within walking distance to the US Visa Application Center, which is incredibly convenient for anyone coming to get their visa done, saving them the hassle of rushing early in the morning. Located at No. 1213 West Beijing Road, it's right next to the core business district of West Nanjing Road. It's only a few hundred meters from Nanjing West Road Station (Metro Lines 2 & 12) and Jing'an Temple Station (Metro Lines 2 & 7), making it easy to walk anywhere. Surrounding it are popular malls like Plaza 66, Meilongzhen Plaza, and Citic Square, so you can easily go shopping or grab a meal after your visa appointment. The front desk service was also very warm and attentive. For anyone needing to apply for a US visa or looking for a high-value-for-money place to stay in the city center, this is definitely the top choice!

Let's start with the positives. The single room was quite good; though small, it was clean, and the bedding had no stains. The air conditioning worked great. For a solo traveler looking to save some money, it offers excellent value. The shared bathroom was reasonably clean, with all the essentials at the sink. Disposable toiletries were readily available upon request from the front desk, which was convenient.
Now for the negatives. It was a bit noisy. Perhaps I'm a light sleeper, but the sounds of people walking in the hallway really kept me awake. Also, the door was translucent, and the green light from the safety exit sign in the hallway shone into the room all night, making it even harder to fall asleep. Additionally, eating is not allowed in the room and requires going to the common area (though this is more of an inconvenience than a true drawback).

Guest UserExcellent! The front desk was very responsive and promptly resolved any issues. They even updated us on WeChat when the elevator was out of order. The fifth-floor lobby is spacious, perfect for watching shows or eating takeout. I was also pleasantly surprised to find the air conditioning already running when I entered my room. So happy! ❤️

The soundproofing is so-so; there's some noise from passing cars on the street, but the landlady is very nice and welcoming. There's a supermarket downstairs, which is very convenient. Aside from the soundproofing, the room is fine.

Booked this hotel last minute, cause my favorite hotel is closing down business this month and i wanted something nearer cause I’m well versed with the surrounding areas, 1: the first red flag is the reception, mail and deliveries are all piled up and falling off shelves, it’s so dirty and humid, it looks like a hoarder’s poach, they’re no waiting chairs, so you’ll stand while they process the guests that came before you until it’s your turn !! The receptionists are very nice and helpful .
2; no room housekeeping ( you’ll have to ask for someone to come take the rubbish and give you towels or change your bedding.
3: THE FILTH!!! The filth is on level 1000/100 the grime made it hard for me to shower with my eyes open, I’m not sure if the place has a manager and if they care about the the wellbeing of the clients , because from what i saw, the cleaners don’t even bother, the floor had food stains from i think when they just opened, the sink🤮 the bathroom ( that one corner gave me the hibbigibeis) the toilet seat was broken
, everything in the bathroom was broken and dirty , then my charger fell in the space which is between the bathroom glass and the bed, got down to retrieve it and i decided it was best to just a get a new charger instead.
The place if cleaned and cared for would be an amazing hotel apartment, it has great amenities , a washing machine a fridge and a drying rack if you upgrade to a bigger room, a kitchenette that would be great if you are interested in cooking and staying longer and it’ has an Aldi downstairs, a gym and lots of other great places surrounding it . I really hope the owners would read this and take it into consideration and carry out serious supervision or else their property will lose value, The hygiene of the hotel does not only ensure the health and wellness of the visitors who sleep in those walls but also keeps the property value up. Dirt And filth only brings it down and puts the health of others at risk . I really hope they change standards.
