The entire floor is cleaned frequently, with no dust accumulation even in the stairwells and corners. The bathroom has a wet/dry separation and good ventilation, so there are no odors. Hot water is available 24/7. Both Xiao Jing and Xiao Nuo provided excellent service. They were always quick to respond via WeChat whenever I had a small issue during my travels, and immediately provided small items like paper, pens, and packing bags when I needed them. Their service was thoughtful and attentive.

The room was very clean and had a private bathroom, which was very convenient for showering. The auntie (housekeeper) was also very diligent with cleaning. The common areas were also very clean and quiet. The location was easy to find, the service attitude was good, and it's very close to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and The Bund. I would definitely stay here again.

The location is great, very close to the subway station, making it convenient to get to The Bund and Nanjing Road. There are also plenty of dining options nearby. The hostel itself is quite clean; both the common areas and bathrooms are regularly tidied, which gives you peace of mind. The front desk staff are very friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. The hostel has a good atmosphere; you can sit and chat or relax in the lobby, which is perfect for solo travelers. The bunk beds have curtains, offering decent privacy, and there are sockets and a small light by the bed – everything you need is there. For this price in Shanghai, it's really excellent value for money. I'd definitely consider staying here again on my next visit.

I specifically chose this hostel to experience the old Shikumen lane houses. It's tucked away deep in a bustling alley, and you have to navigate through winding old streets and traditional iron gates to get in. Stepping inside, you're immediately immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of old Shanghai, a delightful surprise for its tranquil location amidst the hustle and bustle. The renovated old house retains its vintage wooden windows and old floor tiles, and the courtyard is filled with greenery. I woke up to the aroma of breakfast stalls from the lane each morning, and in the evenings, I enjoyed the breeze in the courtyard, fully experiencing local life. The beds come with blackout curtains, individual reading lights, and charging ports. Storage lockers are complete, and the bedding is changed daily, fresh and odorless. The bathrooms are cleaned in sections, with 24-hour hot water. The public living area is spacious, with bookshelves, board games, a microwave, and a self-service washing machine – full of thoughtful details. The owner and staff are warm and genuine, proactively sharing local hidden gems for food and off-the-beaten-path routes, helping me avoid tourist traps. Shopping districts and the subway are within walking distance, and there are old-school pastry shops all around. The value for money is absolutely amazing. It's my top choice for solo travelers and students. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Shanghai!

# Stayed in a hostel with weird roommates who clearly missed basic civic lessons in elementary school. The decor in the common areas on the 1st and 2nd floors is quite interesting. On the street level, there's a small outdoor garden, and a separate entrance for delivery drivers directly to the 2nd-floor staircase. The main entrance, however, leads to the front desk first, then an elevator. The second floor offers independent tables and chairs for two, large long tables for groups, and comfy bean bag chairs with small coffee tables. There's also a large-screen TV available. **Environment:** 1. **Convenient Transportation:** It's near Exit 6 of Cao Yang Road Station (Metro Line 3) and Exit 3 of Feng Qiao Station (Metro Line 11). I recommend using Feng Qiao Station as it's closer and you don't have to cross a major road. There are also several bus stops nearby. 2. **Easy to Find:** Located right by the road. 3. **Amenities:** There's a medium-sized supermarket at the intersection, making it very convenient for daily necessities. And of course, plenty of dining options! You can find Northeastern cuisine, local Shanghainese dishes, and a bit further, there are even community canteens for seniors and restaurants serving rice with stewed pork ribs soup. 4. **Room Features:** The four-person sunroom is very well-ventilated and airy. **Hygiene:** The cleanliness of the common areas was consistently good, just like my last stay, maintaining tidiness from morning till night. However, this time in the same four-person room, my roommates had extremely poor living habits and didn't adhere to the dorm rules we signed upon check-in. Roommate #3, a young guy, constantly ordered takeout and ate it in bed, then left the used disposable tableware and drink cups next to the trash can. Roommate #4, another young person who clearly lacked basic moral education, would throw used tissues from the upper bunk onto the floor in the common aisle below after using the toilet. They didn't forget to toss disposable gloves 🧤 along with them. They also placed their small personal suitcase right in front of the cabinet for suitcase #1, completely disregarding how others would access their lockers. Plus, they had a very bizarre habit of hanging socks on the curtain rod and wouldn't allow the curtains to be closed at night. After I closed them, they'd pull them open again. Seriously, aren't they worried about residents in the opposite building seeing them in their pajamas at night? **Facilities:** The bed and bedding in the room this time were excellent. However, the toilet seat was broken, and the drain was clogged. The water drained extremely slowly during showers, leaving my feet standing in water. And when my roommate showered, they left the entire common aisle in the room flooded. **Service:** As soon as I reported the drainage issue to the front desk via WeChat, a staff member quickly came with a plunger to clear it. That was excellent.

Let's start with the positives. The single room was quite good; though small, it was clean, and the bedding had no stains. The air conditioning worked great. For a solo traveler looking to save some money, it offers excellent value. The shared bathroom was reasonably clean, with all the essentials at the sink. Disposable toiletries were readily available upon request from the front desk, which was convenient. Now for the negatives. It was a bit noisy. Perhaps I'm a light sleeper, but the sounds of people walking in the hallway really kept me awake. Also, the door was translucent, and the green light from the safety exit sign in the hallway shone into the room all night, making it even harder to fall asleep. Additionally, eating is not allowed in the room and requires going to the common area (though this is more of an inconvenience than a true drawback).

I was so lucky to stay here on my first visit to Shanghai. The staff were all incredibly thoughtful. Seeing I had a lot of luggage, they immediately helped me carry it upstairs without a word. They also gave a very detailed introduction to the hostel. I particularly loved the balcony on the third floor; the jasmine was blooming beautifully, and the intermittent fragrance made relaxing there so pleasant. The overall environment was also quiet, making it especially suitable for a temporary stay while job searching or traveling.

Booked this hotel last minute, cause my favorite hotel is closing down business this month and i wanted something nearer cause I’m well versed with the surrounding areas, 1: the first red flag is the reception, mail and deliveries are all piled up and falling off shelves, it’s so dirty and humid, it looks like a hoarder’s poach, they’re no waiting chairs, so you’ll stand while they process the guests that came before you until it’s your turn !! The receptionists are very nice and helpful . 2; no room housekeeping ( you’ll have to ask for someone to come take the rubbish and give you towels or change your bedding. 3: THE FILTH!!! The filth is on level 1000/100 the grime made it hard for me to shower with my eyes open, I’m not sure if the place has a manager and if they care about the the wellbeing of the clients , because from what i saw, the cleaners don’t even bother, the floor had food stains from i think when they just opened, the sink🤮 the bathroom ( that one corner gave me the hibbigibeis) the toilet seat was broken , everything in the bathroom was broken and dirty , then my charger fell in the space which is between the bathroom glass and the bed, got down to retrieve it and i decided it was best to just a get a new charger instead. The place if cleaned and cared for would be an amazing hotel apartment, it has great amenities , a washing machine a fridge and a drying rack if you upgrade to a bigger room, a kitchenette that would be great if you are interested in cooking and staying longer and it’ has an Aldi downstairs, a gym and lots of other great places surrounding it . I really hope the owners would read this and take it into consideration and carry out serious supervision or else their property will lose value, The hygiene of the hotel does not only ensure the health and wellness of the visitors who sleep in those walls but also keeps the property value up. Dirt And filth only brings it down and puts the health of others at risk . I really hope they change standards.
