Big Cypress Lodge

Big Cypress Lodge

Memphis|0.71km from city centre
The location is very good, the surrounding environment is good, quiet, the top floor observation deck is very good, you can look at the Mississippi River, you can see the bridge marked 'M'. The restaurant on the top floor is also good, you can go and taste it. There are no convenience stores and shopping malls around. It is more convenient to have a car or rent a car. This is the case in the general cities of the United States. It is very inconvenient to have no car. There are some snacks (popcorns and the like) in the hotel room that can be enjoyed free of charge. The hotel room is ok, but we live in a suite with an outdoor deck that can go out and enjoy the exterior. The terrace is large and connected to the next room. There is no problem with security. All the platforms need to be swiped before they can enter. There are leisure sofas on the platform, but there are more dust on the sofa and coffee table and the ground, as well as spider webs. The hotel is located in a large outdoor goods store. The interior decoration is very special. Some real animal specimens, birds, deer, etc. can be seen everywhere. There are also some introductions to the origin of the hotel, which is very story-like. I like to enjoy life in the American country. There is also a battlefield in the mall. There are guns and ammunition on the second floor. On the first floor, there are various mountain bikes, there are various fishing gears and swimwear, and a The harbor pier has a lot of local fish in it. There is also a city called Memphis in Egypt. The shape of this hotel is designed as a pyramid. From the second floor, it is designed as a hotel room along the inner circle of the pyramid. The room will look like a log cabin, plus The decoration of animal specimens is very interesting. The middle part and the first floor of the pyramid are shopping malls, restaurants, bowling alleys and shooting clubs. The top floor is the observation deck and the steakhouse. The hotel is relatively new, the room is relatively large, that is, the windows of some rooms are facing the indoor shopping malls, the shopping malls are exquisitely arranged, and the view from the room is also a scene. In short, to travel to Memphis, this is a place worth living.

The hotel itself is very nice. Our room was lovely, quiet, large, 2 big beds which were amazingly comfortable. Wish I could have taken the pillows home. The room was cleaned daily. I am quite surprised how many reviews have said the hotel is dirty. This was definitely not the case from what we experienced. 15 minute walk to Beale Street although you can use the free shuttle. Reg is so lovely and friendly and you just need to give a tip. Breakfast is $15 each or you walk over to the Sheraton, you can get a tram to various cafes that do breakfast. The Bar opens at 3.00pm and the bar lady is friendly, however the cost of a bottle of wine is $43! To be honest the whole of the USA is expensive for wine! The only reason we haven't given 5 stars to this hotel, the Reception Staff are miserable! We arrived at 2.45pm and went straight to the desk, excited, as you do, to be told abruptly check in is not until 3.00pm so my partner and I sat waiting until 3.00pm after a long time travelling. We then stood about 2 metres from the Desk and still ignored. I had to stand right up at the desk and then the young woman finally said come over to this one. No smile, no greeting, no advice, no nothing. To be treated like that on arrival is disgusting. She either had a very bad day or should not be in a customer facing role! I have never experienced this attitude at a hotel before. Unfortunately we did not catch her name but we did complain to the Manager Bruce about the poor service. Sadly this is one of the things we remember most about the hotel.

I experienced the worst front desk agent EVER. He was rude and unprofessional from beginning to end. When you Google the hotel and it pops up, there is a website attached (as well as phone number, address, etc) I booked my room on the website provided which was Choice Hotels whom this specific hotel falls under. I booked the Presidential suite for 3 occupants. 2 adults and 1 child. The night I arrived to check in, the clerk was immediately rude and unprofessional. I was not greeted. I in fact greeted him who did not smile or anything in return. He got my card and id and asked very bluntly “how many people” I said 3. He said “ONLY 2” With a puzzled look on my face I said I’ve already booked the room for 3 occupants. He cut me off shaking his head and said “ONLY 2” I began to say I already booked for 3 occupants, it’s on the confirmation, the site I believe had a maximum of 4, etc. the clerk cut me off, did not care to hear what I had to say and then pointed down to my 7 yr old daughter and said if I want 3 I have to pay $10. I went on to say I was not paying an additional $10 when I’ve already booked for 3 and was within the hotel’s policy. The clerk was being rude, trying to take advantage of me in the situation so I called the cops for a mediator. Of course the officer arrives and could not do much. The clerk changed his story 3 times. He told me that I would have to pay $10. He told my boyfriend that I was basically overreacting and immediately called the cops making the situation worse and that the room had a leak and wasn’t serviceable, and he told the hotel security who got involved that I was trying to have 7-8 people in the room. A room I hadn’t even officially checked into better yet step foot in. Everyone who tried to talk to him to resolve the issue was carelessly shut down. The clerk told us to take it up with the site we booked through. My boyfriend called Choice Hotels and spoke with the customer relations agent who said that it had to be resolved at the hotel. She called the hotel clerk and explained to us that she too got off the phone because he “started talking weird and being rude”. She informed us that they don’t take/receive any money and informed us that the hotel clerk had actually ran my card and charged it for the room…the same room I hadn’t even officially checked into. The hotel security saw me upset and saw police and asked what was going on. I told him and he was not surprised at all to hear the clerk was giving me issues. He tried to resolve the issue and was also shut down. He was shocked to hear that I was dealing with all of this yet hadn’t even stepped a foot into the room. The hotel clerk refused to resolve the issue and at this point he was refusing to give a refund. I was frustrated with the runaround I was being given. He told me to contact Choice Hotels. Choice Hotels said they couldn’t do anything and it had to be resolved at the hotel. The police officer explaining he couldn’t step in. Finally the securi

We checked into this property with my wife and two children ages 1 and 3 because our power was out at our house due to an ice storm. Upon arrival, I was told that the room that I booked wasn't available and that I would have to move to another room. After inquiring as to why, the room that I had booked was suddenly available. The real issues, however, occurred the next day. I stopped by the front desk to ask if it would be possible for me to check to see if my power was turned back on and then let them know if I needed to extend my stay. I was told by the manager, Gemarion Nolan, that it would be fine as long as I let them know by noon. I returned at 10am and told the front desk that I wanted to extend my stay. I was told by the front desk clerk that I would not be able to do that. She told me that if I wanted to stay I would have to move to a smaller room. I asked to speak to the manager and she went to get him. After waiting for 20 minutes he finally came to desk and told me that they had sold my room to the ”government” and that I wouldn't be able to stay in my room. I reminded him what he said only an hour before and he told me there was nothing he could do because it was a live reservation system. Mind you, only the day before he told me that I could have the room that I reserved and I had to push to get my reservation. After leaving, the front desk, I found that both elevators were broken and I then had to carry my family's luggage down 4 flights of stairs.
