"Definitely a five-star review, this is my second stay, and I'll keep coming back to this hotel! It really captures the essence of Pingyao, with elegant decor. I specifically looked for a 'pit bed' room to experience the feeling of a Jin merchant's home, and it was perfect for photos. This time, I felt the bedding had been upgraded, which was a nice touch. The owner is also very kind and provides excellent service."

"This guesthouse is absolutely wonderful! The courtyard has a century of history, giving it an antique charm. It's very close to the South Gate and just a few minutes' walk from the attractions, exactly as described.
The owner is incredibly warm and diligent. I contacted them in advance and got a discount on tickets for 'See Pingyao Again'. Upon arrival, the owner gave me a map, explained the must-see sights, circled them, and even provided several restaurant coupons, including one for Hongwuji.
They provide disposable toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, soap, disposable slippers, regular slippers, and disposable toilet seat covers. Toilet paper and tissues are also provided, along with a small water dispenser.
The room was very clean, with an electric blanket, air conditioning, a bathroom with a shower, and a night light. The sheets and duvet covers were also spotless. The courtyard is very close to the County Government Office and the Confucius Temple, and because it's off the main street, it's very quiet at night.
The 'kang' (heated bed) was quite large, easily accommodating two adults and two children in one room. Six of us booked two rooms for two nights, and my family was all very satisfied. There's a pavilion in the courtyard; it was lovely to sit there, soak up the sun, and drink tea when the sun came out at midday. The owner even gave us a pot of vinegar as a parting gift. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit."

"This hotel, a new take on an old residence, perfectly blends the ancient charm of a traditional home with the comfort of modern amenities. It even has a lovely courtyard for relaxing. The location is superb; step right out and you're in the bustling old town. Yet, nestled in a narrow alleyway, it maintains its quaint character while offering a quiet retreat from the hubbub, allowing you to enjoy both sightseeing and relaxation. It's clear the owner puts a lot of thought into running this place, and the experience was excellent, offering great value for money. A special shout-out for the thoughtful disposable bath towels and hand towels in the room – very reassuring to use. A fantastic accommodation choice for Pingyao!"

"The architecture is beautiful, and the courtyard looks lovely both day and night. It's very pleasant to sit in the small courtyard. Upon check-in, a staff member helped with our luggage. I initially thought the guesthouse decor would be mediocre, but it turned out to be quite nice, and the blackout curtains were excellent. The 'kang' (heated brick bed) was very comfortable and spacious. For breakfast, there were a lot of pickles, which were a bit spicy and not entirely to my taste, but the service auntie was very enthusiastic and gave us plenty of dishes, which made me feel a bit embarrassed. The only minor drawback was regarding the service. The hotel package on Ctrip stated 'one round-trip transfer to the ancient city,' but when I contacted the housekeeper, they said it was either a pick-up or a drop-off, not 'round-trip.' This caused a bit of disappointment. The complimentary minibar was a nice touch, and the fruit box was very refreshing. The complimentary afternoon tea was thoughtful, allowing us to rest after exploring before continuing our sightseeing. Overall, it's good, I'd give it a 4.7 out of 5."

"The soundproofing in the room is excellent; it's very quiet, clean, and tidy. The location is superb, just a minute or two from the Ming and Qing Old Street, right in the heart of the ancient city, making getting around incredibly convenient. All the staff are super warm and friendly, which was a lovely touch. The restaurants and photography shops recommended by the owner were fantastic, and we even got a discount. The travel guide they provided was incredibly detailed and well-planned, with no wasted steps, making our tour very easy to follow. Choosing this hotel was definitely the right decision; it's full of thoughtful touches, and you can tell the owner puts a lot of effort into running it. They were always willing to help with anything we needed. Thumbs up! 👍"

We arrived late by high-speed train, and the owner drove directly to the station to pick us up. All the restaurants in the ancient city were closed, so the owner lent us his electric tricycle to go eat outside the city. Riding that little vehicle through the ancient city at night was truly a special experience, haha.
As for the room, it had everything we needed, and the underfloor heating kept it very warm. The large kang bed was quite unique, and even the mouthwash cups were disposable. Since it was the off-season, the owner even upgraded our room. Although the wallpaper was a bit peeling, it didn't affect our stay at all.
Moreover, right outside the inn is the owner's own travel photography studio. I'm so glad I didn't book one of those trendy shops recommended online in advance. The photo shoot here was absolutely fantastic 💖. The makeup artist was very gentle and recommended suitable hairstyles and makeup based on my face shape. I loved the photos, and there was absolutely no pressure during the selection process – completely voluntary.

"This inn is located right inside Pingyao Ancient City, offering a fantastic location. It's a short walk to the pedestrian street, and all the attractions are easily accessible.
I didn't want to sleep on a Kang bed, and thankfully, they have all sorts of room types – king beds and twin beds. I booked the most expensive twin room, which was spacious and cost a little over 300 yuan. I thought it was quite good value for money.
The building itself is a historical structure, with a clear sense of age. The owner mentioned they couldn't make too many major alterations, but the interior facilities are excellent. In the evenings, with the big red lanterns lit in the courtyard, it felt very cinematic.
The owner's service was enthusiastic, and the high-speed train pickup/drop-off was also very well organized!
When we checked out, they even gave us a bottle of aged Shanxi vinegar as a gift!"
