Llyn_****Facilities: Fully smart home, very comfortable experience. Cleanliness: Clean and tidy. Environment: Very close to West Street of the Ancient City, yet away from the hustle and bustle of the ancient city. Service: Warm and attentive. Booking tickets to ”Encounter Pingyao” through the hotel saved 18 yuan. They even gave us a small gift upon departure—a bottle of Shanxi vinegar. They also offer pick-up and drop-off service from the station, very thoughtful. A great choice if you're visiting Pingyao Ancient City.

GGuest UserThis is a cosy hotel converted from a scholar’s academy. It really feels like you’ve gone back in time or stepped onto a Chinese drama set. The staff are wonderful, very friendly, helpful and kind, explaining how to navigate their little town and helping us book tickets to a show. When my payment app couldn’t work upon check in, they let us pay later in the day with a credit card. The breakfast is tasty and fills the tummy, and you can ask for refills. I had the best sleep here, as it’s set on a quiet street, a little off the main drag and the rooms were clean and spacious, with comfortable beds, everything worked and there was attention to details like a snack basket and bottled water in the fridge. And the car was there to pick us up from Pingyao Gu Cheng station and also to send us back to the station. It was a lovely stay.

AAnonymous UserTraveling solo, I randomly picked this hotel, and it completely surpassed my expectations! They even contacted me while I was still on the high-speed train. It's just a short walk from the North Gate; turn right, and you're there. It happened to be raining that evening, but even quick photos of the exterior turned out stunning! The lady at the front desk even helped me with my luggage. The room also had complimentary snacks, and the courtyard view was beautiful. Absolutely incredible value for money!!!

LLoren29I loved this hostel, the owner is too friendly, always with the best smile. The room is super nice and clean, the truth is one of the best I've ever been to. RRainer WWe traveled as a family of five to Pingyao and stayed three nights at the Jinxuan hotel. The stay was an absolute delight, the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful with everything. They picked us up from the train station which made it very easy to find a place. Jinxuan it’s located in the very heart of Pingyao and everything is easy to reach on foot. The facilities are simple and clean, the rooms are located in a very quiet patio of one of the traditional houses in in Pingyao. We stayed in a duplex room that offered lots of space for a family. The breakfast is traditional Chinese and the hosts spoiled us on the last day with some homegrown corn and tomatoes. If you’re looking for an authentic experience, we can absolutely recommend this place.

AAnonymous UserThe owner and their family were incredibly kind, thoughtful, and attentive. After we took a taxi from the high-speed train station to the city gate, they drove a small electric cart to pick up our luggage (as passengers aren't allowed to ride inside the ancient city). Throughout our stay, they patiently answered any questions we had, many of which weren't even about the accommodation. When it was time to leave, concerned we might miss our train, they not only helped us with our luggage but also hailed a taxi, loaded our bags, and waited for us to get in. As we were traveling with two young children, the owner kept reminding us not to rush, saying that if we could catch the train, great, but if not, it was fine – safety was the priority! After we'd left, the owner even called us, timing it just right, to check on how we were doing. Although our stay in Pingyao was less than 24 hours, we were profoundly touched by their immense warmth. We'll definitely be back next time to truly soak in the experience!

GGuest UserTraditional inn style hotel, just as you enter the old city. I stayed in a typical stone bed with futon mattress, initially I was stressed I cannot sleep.well but it was perfect. Another plus is the heated japanese style toilet and the breakfast across the street at two local ladies. Cannot get more authentic than this. They offer free driving to the railway station (high speed in my case), which it came as a pleasant surprise as I was not aware of. Highly recommend for simple, authentic local experience 🙂

MM354450****The guesthouse boasts an excellent location on South Street in the ancient city, next to ”Xietongqing” (a local entertainment venue), and very close to the city gate and the镖局 (security escort agency). The county government office is just a ten-minute walk away. There are many restaurants nearby, making dining convenient. The rooms are very clean, with automatic curtains, a smart toilet, good water pressure in the shower, and comfortable, clean bedding. Although located on a main street, the courtyard is secluded and extremely quiet.

The atmosphere is truly authentic—you feel like you've stepped back in time. It's the perfect base for exploring this charming city. The rooms are clean and reflect the traditional style of the surroundings, adding to the overall charm. But what truly made our stay special was the staff: incredibly friendly and always willing to help. Despite the language barrier, they went out of their way to communicate with us, using translation apps and lots of patience. We felt genuinely welcomed. All in all, highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and memorable stay in historic Pingyao!

KKewei·mengshengThe hotel is about 300 meters away from the South Street in the center of the ancient city. It is quite convenient to walk through the alley. The weather changed on the day we came, about minus 15 degrees. The hotel owner picked us up from the parking lot outside the city in a tricycle and sent us there when we left. We were given makeup and photography. Breakfast is next door, which is quite good. There are flower rolls, porridge, pickles, eggs, and fried potato shreds. The flower rolls are steamed by yourself, which are delicious and filling. Pingyao Ancient City is an ancient city that was developed earlier. It is famous, but disappointing. The management of the entire ancient city is relatively chaotic, the hygiene is not optimistic, and most of the houses are shabby, and some are even dangerous. It is very unreasonable to set the light show at 9 o'clock in the evening, and the South City Gate is closed. If you want to watch it, you need to go around a long circle in the cold wind.
