GGuest UserDuring the Chinese New Year, I decided to visit the renowned Pingyao Ancient City and carefully chose the Yushe Boutique Hotel. The day before our arrival, someone from the hotel contacted us to offer a pick-up service and even sent us a detailed list of suggestions for exploring the ancient city – truly thoughtful! The owner's sister, who picked us up, meticulously introduced us to the history of the ancient city and current conditions over the next two days. Upon arrival, the owner's brother was equally thorough, demonstrating the diligent character typical of Shanxi people! Our family of four's room was impeccable in terms of space, cleanliness, and bedding. Later, chatting with the owner, I learned they operate with the quality standards of Atour Hotels, which explained why the sleep was so comfortable. One evening, the water pressure for the kids' shower was a bit low. The next morning, I spoke to the owner's brother, who explained it was due to the high volume of tourists in the ancient city causing low water pressure. They later installed a booster pump and resolved the issue! Finally, before leaving, we bought some wine and vinegar from the owner after tasting them all – they were delicious. And to top it off, the owner kindly drove us to the train station! Many, many thanks! Five-star recommendation, a hotel with integrity and quality.

GGuest UserA lovely traditional courtyard hotel with lots of character right in the heart of the old city within walking distance to everything you would want to see. The owner speaks good English and provides you with a map and details of beautiful Pingyao’s must see local attractions. The hotel is quiet and the Chinese breakfasts with either tea or coffee are delicious. The owner can also organise a good driver for any out of town excursions. Highly recommended

EEcoopThis has been our favourite stay in china by far! The owner is so generous and patient despite our lack of Chinese language skills, he even brought us gifts and picked us up and dropped us off at the train station. The residence is also part of the Pingyao world heritage site, we really enjoyed seeing the similarities between fans residence and the buildings presented in the museums around Pingyao (this place has much comfier beds). The traditional Chinese breakfast was also amazing, with veges, steam buns and egg. It’s in a perfect location, out of the noise of the main streets but also an easy stroll to the lively parts of town. I will recommend Fanzhai to anyone that will listen 😁

CChuoluThe young owner personally picked me up from the north gate. After checking out, I could store my luggage for free, and he even brought my suitcase. The service was very attentive, and breakfast was provided. He even gave me a bottle of Shanxi aged vinegar after check-out. The environment was nice and stylish. The ambiance was great at night with the lights on. It was also very photogenic during the day.

TTanluzheWsI am from Shanxi, and this time I went home to bring my father-in-law, mother-in-law and relatives from other places to visit. The boss is a local and very nice. It is his own inn, and the photos taken are very good, which can fully satisfy everyone's fantasy about Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture. Great 👍. The first photo is inside the inn.

GGuest UserThis trip to Pingyao, I am very honored to choose the glory homestay. Although it is outside the ancient city, it is super convenient to travel. It takes only a minute to walk to the entrance of the ancient city, and it also avoids the trouble of traffic control in the ancient city. The room was clean and warm, the bedding was soft, and I fell asleep as soon as I touched the pillow at night. The owner of the homestay is a retired veteran of 20 years. The service is super enthusiastic. Not only does he help plan the route, but also recommends many small shops that locals often go to. The price is very favorable and only tens of dollars, which is really good value for money. I especially recommend everyone to stay and experience

GGuest UserThe hotel is located in Pingyao's Old City, very close to the Ancient Government tourist landmark. I found the level of service outstanding. Even though there was a language barrier they were always eager to help. I liked the courtyard and in the room I felt like I was sleeping in one of the museums I visited in Pingyao. Additional perks include free laundry and free transport to the train station. As a drawback, the wifi connection didn't work well for me. To sum up excellent value for money.

GGuest UserWe booked two rooms together. The owner helped us with our luggage at the entrance of the old town. Upon entering, he offered us homemade wine and vinegar to try, which we found quite nice. The rooms were nice, with a rest area on the first floor and a sleeping area on the second. I would definitely choose this place again next time I visit.

GGuest UserPersonally really good! The boss is very enthusiastic, and he can solve any problems, especially reliable. The price is not expensive and the price is quite high. The location is in the ancient city, it is convenient to go anywhere, the room is an old-fashioned building, very feeling. The most intimate thing is that you can also store your luggage, it is too convenient, in short, very satisfied!

MMartinThe host were nice and friendly. They speak no English but they use and app for basic translations. The room is good value for money. Modern and clean, with good architectural finishes. They don't provide towels, shampoo and so. No air conditioner either, thou I asked for a fan and they gave it to me and it was perfect like that. Location wasn't so easy to find, the access road can be either dusty or muddy depending on the weather. It's about 15 minutes walk to the north gate of ancient Pingyao city wall. I would recommend specially to couples as it's the same price as for solo travellers. (I guess the price is per room) They didn't ask for a deposit as written in their policies, which is a plus. I attach a plan explaining how to best get there. Recommended.
