Choosing this hotel for our trip to Pingyao was a brilliant decision! The location is unparalleled, right next to Pingyao's West Gate and adjacent to the 'Impression Pingyao' theater, making it incredibly convenient for catching a show and getting around. The hotel is connected to the Pingyao Restaurant, boasting high-end facilities. The room furnishings are exquisite, complete with a Dyson hairdryer, and the toiletries are also top-notch, ensuring an excellent stay. The staff's service was warm and attentive. They even upgraded us for free to a suite with an electric heated 'kang' bed. The room was spacious and comfortable, featuring a lovely tea set – perfect for relaxing with a cup of tea. They provided thoughtful pick-up and drop-off service throughout our stay, with heartwarming details at every turn. Upon check-out, they even gave us a complimentary specialty Pingyao lacquerware souvenir. Their sincerity was evident, and the value for money was outstanding. This is definitely our top choice for accommodation when visiting Pingyao! There's also an older establishment inside the ancient city called Qigongguan, which is very antique and well-maintained. However, for comfort, Molan is still superior.

We loved the hotel! The place feels very historical and the decorations were beautiful. The host welcomed us very friendly and we received and unexpected upgrade with a delicious breakfast. The host gave us a map of the area and explained the top attractions. The room was clean and we had a drinking water tap in the room.

When choosing a B&B, I prioritize room size and location. ✔️ This B&B is near Xiaonanmen, and it's not a long walk to get there. Plus, they offer pick-up and drop-off service, with a staff member carrying luggage, so you don't have to lift a finger – truly great for those traveling with kids. Even better, they provide pick-up and drop-off from Pingyao High-Speed Rail Station, saving you the hassle of finding a taxi yourself. The B&B is right next to a pedestrian street, which is very convenient. ✔️ The environment is lovely. It's a two-story courtyard house with many flowers and plants in the central patio, creating a natural oasis. There are also common areas with sofas, swing chairs, and a coffee bar, making it enjoyable even if you don't go out. ✔️ Our reserved room was on the second floor, right next to the pedestrian street. The room layout is quite good; although it's an open plan, there's a sheer curtain as a divider, which prevents the bed from facing the bathing area directly. I particularly liked the sofa and tea area near the entrance. ✔️ Breakfast is served individually, with a good variety, and it's quite filling for adults. ✔️ Upon check-in, the front desk provides a map of the ancient town, highlighting key attractions, how to get there, how long it takes, and performance times. They also recommended two popular restaurants and gave us discount coupons. The Pingyao beef was indeed delicious. ✔️ Highly recommended.

The hotel is located just within the old town after the north gate. The hotel is well decorated with a beautiful garden. The hotel room was clean and spacious. The hotel staff are superb friendly and helpful. In one of the nights in 平遥古城, I had left a shop without my haversack after my meal at the old town. I only recalled about my haversack when I returned to the hotel. Immediately, I reported the incident to the hotel staff. Without hesitation, the hotel staff 小武 brought me back to the said shop with his own bike in a cold weather. Although we managed to locate the shop, however, it had already closed for business and there was no people in the shop. It was nearly midnight at that time . Even though i didn’t manage to recover my haversack (cuz i needed to leave the town to another destination early in that morning), I sincerely appreciate 小武 for helping me to find my haversack. He also suggested to me to lodge a Police report so that my lost item could be recovered by mailing it back to my hometown. It was a good idea but I didn’t do it cuz the belongings in the bag were not valuable and nothing important. Once again , I really want to thank 小武 for his patience and service rendered to me. Overall, my stay was incredibly satisfying! The room was spotless, and the bedding was super comfy, leading to a very peaceful night's sleep. The environment was quiet with no noise disturbances. The front desk staff were really friendly and quick to respond to any issues; they even helped with my luggage [strong emoji]. Breakfast was delicious too. The location is excellent, making it convenient for getting around and dining, and it's super easy to walk to the old town. The facilities are well-maintained, and it offers fantastic value for money. I highly recommend staying here! I'll definitely choose this place again next time.

The room was clean and tidy, and the shower was pretty good with plenty of hot water, including an electric bidet toilet. Our family stayed in the 2-meter king bed room, which could actually accommodate four people. Guests staying at the hotel get a 15% discount at their restaurant. Plus, they have their own travel photography service right there, so you don't need to look elsewhere, which was very convenient; we were able to do a shoot right when we arrived. It was super handy! They even gave us two small bottles of vinegar when we left, but unfortunately, the airport confiscated them, so I couldn't bring them back.

Pingyao Ancient City High-Speed Rail Station pickup and drop-off: Very convenient. Hygiene: Very clean. Service: Excellent service attitude, very welcoming. Environment: The overall lobby is beautiful, and the room environment is also great. Special thanks to Xiao Yang and Xiao Ji, who were incredibly warm and thoughtful! 👍👍 The front desk offers free coffee, and the barista's skills are exceptional; the lady who makes the coffee is also lovely.

The transportation is convenient, and the inn's shuttle service is incredibly punctual. The owner is warm and thoughtful; they coordinated pick-up and drop-off times in advance, so there was no waiting at all. The guesthouse's location is superb, just a few minutes' walk to explore Pingyao Ancient City. The room was spotless, and the bedding and bathroom were clean and fresh. The service was meticulous and attentive; any requests were responded to quickly. They even gave us a souvenir when we checked out. The overall experience far exceeded our expectations. If you're visiting Pingyao, staying here is a no-brainer – highly recommended!

We enjoyed an absolutely fabulous three-day stay at Jing's Residence. The building itself is a very nicely modernized Qing-era building. We've stayed in some similarly ages buildings in Europe and this was right up with the nicest of them. The spaces look very similar to the ones in the museums in town, albeit with bathrooms and more comfortable furnishings. The service was absolutely impeccable. Our room was constantly restocked with complementary drinks and baked goods, and the front desk staff (Crystal and Leo) was helpful with everything from restaurant recommendations to transportation to the train station to us mixing up our departure date (whoops). All staff spoke great English. Afternoon tea was a particularly nice touch: no fee, great service, and a very relaxing atmosphere. Food was light Chinese snacks, not the huge spread of a British-style high tea. Breakfast was a similar relaxing experience. We tried all the of the Chinese-style options and they were all excellent. We did not try the Western-style options. Dinner was a set menu, shown to us in the morning before making the reservation. It was a combination of Western dishes and local Pingyao/Shanxi food. If given the choice we would have preferred purely Chinese food, but it was all very good and honestly the change of peace was probably good-- getting a salad was nice after two weeks in China. The Pingyao Beef was the highlight: big cubes of high quality meat, easily my favorite of the three places we had this dish. The bar had a nice selection of Western wines, Scotch, etc, but I was disappointed to not see any local rice wine or Baiji. Air conditioning worked very well in our room, easily getting the temperature down under 20C even at midday on ＞30C days. Overall I really can't recommend this place enough: this hotel was really a highlight of our trip.

Facilities: Well-equipped Cleanliness: Always cleaned and very tidy Ambiance: Absolutely stunning for a historical visit. This is a centuries-old inn, with seven courtyards deep. Being here felt like stepping back into the glorious era when Jin merchants thrived. Service: Excellent. There are two incredibly cute kittens in the courtyard that my son absolutely adored. The owner even provided toys for playing with them. When we weren't out exploring, my son spent his time in the courtyard playing with the cats and had a wonderful time.
