We arrived in early April, one day after the hotel had opened for the season, so it was reasonably quiet when we were here. Worth bearing that in mind when reading this review. The hotel is in Elia Beach, near Nikiti, and it took us about an hour to get here from Thessaloniki airport. We used Welcome Pickups, who we have found reliable and reasonably priced. Cost was about €100 each way. The area is quite rural and unspoilt with a rugged coastline and clear waters - really very pretty. Most of the beaches are at least part shingle but we were told that there were sandy beaches at Neo Marmaras which is about 15 mins drive away. We were lucky with the weather - about 23C each day, which we were told was unusually warm. The hotel itself consists of a large reception area, downstairs from which is a small bowling alley, a games area with air hockey, table football, a pool table and Tekken, and a fitness suite. The kids animation (which runs throughout most days) is also located here. Next to reception is the pool, a pool bar and seating area, and beside that are two small restaurants areas. Further through and you find all of the accommodation, a small shop selling inflatables, goggles, some clothes, crisps, chocolate, wine, beer, ice cream and souvenirs, and what we think was a taverna (it didn’t look very open so we didn’t try it). Then to the side of the hotel is the main restaurant. We loved this hotel for a number of reasons. Although our room was quite basic (we got a junior suite which had a double bed in one room, a double sofa bed in the living area, and a bathroom), it was comfortable, spacious enough, with TV, fridge, hot drink facilities and a good shower. There was good wifi throughout the resort. It was private and little noise from neighbours. The pool was heated, and whilst not huge was never too busy. Service from the pool bar (light food, snacks, and drinks) was excellent. The staff were warm and friendly but efficient. The food at the main restaurant was a little repetitive, but there was a wide range and the quality was great. Our only criticisms were minor - plates got taken away very quickly at meal times, we had a problem with the lock in our door, and the beach was too stony for our kids to enjoy fully. Because it was out of season the neighbouring towns were pretty quiet, but I expect they get busier as the season goes on. Excellent place for a relaxing stay at a good price.
