Because I wasn't familiar with the place, I booked this crappy hotel. It’s really a bird’s eye view, 100 kilometers away from Phuket. It's like you go to Beijing to play and you live in Tianjin. There are still more than 20 kilometers away from the slightly livelier town. There is no entertainment except eating and walking in the hotel. You know the standard of hotel restaurants, they are not delicious. What are the comings and goings of breakfast? 90% of the guests are foreigners. On the first day I checked in, the front desk (male) had a bad attitude and licked the European and American guests next to me. I obviously ordered a double bed, but they arranged a twin bed for me. They also said that their double beds were pushed together. I immediately complained and applied to cancel the order, and they changed me to a double bed the next day. The hotel's hardware is actually pretty good, but it's too remote. You can watch the sunset on the hotel's beach, and there is a local village next to it. If you like to stay away from the hustle and bustle➕don’t want to see Chinese compatriots➕like to be bored and dazed, then you can choose here.

The hotel is a very nice hotel and is very comfortable and comfortable.

Got a great room upgrade which was lovely but they REALLY need to stop the guests from staking out sun beds and reserving them all day and hardly using them. Sign says not to do it and belongings will be removed but never saw it done, not even once. Also free shuttle bus was always booked out but come the day, nowhere near full. Just go along on the day and you’ll likely get a seat due to inconsiderates booking and then not using.

We travelled with 3 families (6 adults and 4 kids 8-12) and stayed for 2 weeks. This was our second visit to Mai Khao Lak and we were equally as happy. Stayed in the top section (pool access jacuzzi suite). Modern, clean room with a separate living room, which doubles as a kid's room. Walk off the balcony into private spa area which joins massive swimming pool. There are no shortage of wet options with 5 pools from the beachfront area to the peaceful adults only pool area at the top of the resort. Loads of choices for bars and food. The new Thai restaurant by the beach is very comfortable with great food. At the kids pool area there is another kitchen and bar with great lunch options. The staff are always friendly and helpful. There is an hourly free shuttle bus from reception to town which is convenient, otherwise walk to the beachfront and you can get a tuk tuk (if you order through reception it will cost more!). Breakfast buffet is easy to navigate, with a huge selection of coffee / tea, fresh fruits / yoghurts, cooked food, cereal, pastries, cakes and sweets, loads of bread choices and cold cuts & cheeses. This was a big highlight for the kids and great way for us to all gather and catch up to start the day together. The beach and ocean are very nice, and the many options of beachfront bars, restaurants, laundry services and massage places are all within a 1-5 minute walk from the resort. We visited most of these during our stay and never had a bad experience. Kids club is awesome with plenty of fun and varied activities to engage the kids. If I had to fault something - the internet inside our room was poor, but in most other areas of the resort it was fine. So the 2 big questions... would we go back (a third time)? We have been to many 5* hotels in Kaolack. We really wanted to visit Robison. What I liked: Large territory It doesn’t feel like there are a lot of guests at all There is a VIP zone (villa area and restaurant there) Large beach and gentle entrance to the sea. Very good food. We paid extra at the reception for 3 meals a day and it’s more profitable, even drinks are included. Of the minuses: Tired hotel, you walk along the paths and realize that it’s the last century. The miniclub is not open on Saturday - it's trash! Unkept lawns and grass. It's like they're not watering it.

Good value for money. Rooms are clean, spacious and regularly cleaned. The territory is small, but well-groomed. Breakfast is quite normal in terms of variety of dishes - not luxurious of course, but for the price the hotel provides enough. Of the minuses: sunbeds are stuck on the beach very close to each other due to the narrow beach area. The sea in March was unclear with jellyfish.

The location was amazing, almost empty beaches, beautiful ocean, nice stuff always a smile on their faces. Outside the resort you can find really good food. Only minus is breakfast and the food of the restaurants, it is more delicious outside the resort. Not much variety for breakfast, and restaurants for dinner are at restaurant overpriced, you expect more for this price.
