Hotel Toranomon Hills

Tokyo|0.89km from South Garden of the Diet Front Park (Japanese style)
Pros: Overall the hotel is pretty good, the staff speaks good English, and the staff who speak Chinese are also very friendly. I chose this hotel because it is new and has enough space for two people. I didn't look carefully at the tower view I chose, but the soundproofing was okay. There are many coffee shops/light meals downstairs, and I blindly selected one with delicious coffee. There is a small drugstore that can meet basic needs. Disadvantages: It is basically impossible to find Japanese drivers when taking a taxi, which causes great trouble to passengers. After talking for a long time, the driver still dropped us off at Andaz. The scariest thing was walking a long distance. Friends who take a taxi must remember to make it clear that they are in the station tower! There are many buildings in this place. When we arrived at the station building, the signs were not very clear, and we spent a long time looking for the hotel... At that time, I thought it would be better to just go to andaz... I hope the problem of unclear markings can be corrected, otherwise it will be really unfriendly. Roads are currently being built around the area, so access is not particularly convenient. It's easy to take the subway and go downstairs. The water pressure in the bathroom is not very stable. Breakfast was OK. Generally speaking, with the current unclear markings/road construction, I personally feel that it is not particularly worthwhile.

Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills- A Concept by Hyatt

Tokyo|0.97km from South Garden of the Diet Front Park (Japanese style)
This review will be hard to write, it's a very nice hotel but I also find it hard to recommend to tourists. Room: The Tokyo Tower view room is very pretty at night. The bed is comfy. I don't like having the closet on the opposite end of the sleeping area though, I find that very inconvenient when packing/getting ready. And for a hotel that opened in 2016, that TV is tiny and needs to be larger. The Aesop products are nice, and come in big bottles with pumps (which I prefer over tiny bottles). They also have the coolest slippers! Service: Concierge helped me reserve dinner, and had confirmation letter ready at check-in. Check-in/out was fast and easy. They offer free HH in lounge, I was pleasantly surprised to find live performance! Food offering during HH is pretty basic, but that's ok because I'd rather be eating in the city anyways. Evening turndown service could be enhanced a bit, may need to borrow a page from your colleagues at Grand Hyatt ;) Location: This is the one thing that truly sucks about this place for tourists. Toranomon Hills is a very business-heavy area, a ghost town after 6 p.m. There's no department stores, no shopping, only two convenience stores nearby, barely any dining options after 9 p.m. To do anything you'll need to get on a subway/taxi from hotel. The walk to the subway station is frankly a little longer than I like, but it's indoor underground which is nice for cold and rainy days. Overall, I would recommend a stay here if you're on a work trip and your office is in the area. Or you just have to check this place off your bucket list because of its design or the room with Tokyo Tower view. As a typical tourist in Tokyo who values convenience and accessibility to restaurants and shopping, I probably won't be back. It's a shame because this place has so much potential if it was in a better area, but I guess you can't have it all!

The Kitano Hotel Tokyo

My husband and I recently stayed 4 nights at The Kitano and overall we really enjoyed our stay. A few pros, the room was clean and larger than expected. The hotel only had 4 floors so it gave a boutique feeling in the heart of the city. The staff was friendly, especially at breakfast (but felt like they could have helped a bit more when trying to find dinner, which was a bit difficult for us). Worth mentioning, the location was a little far from the sights and not on the JR loop so we had to take the regular subway which took a little extra planing and time. The general area didn’t have many good restaurants so plan ahead. Even though we enjoyed our stay but as tourists we would probably select a different location next time.
The Capitol Hotel Tokyu

Exceptional hotel, with exceptional service. The staff from concierge, to Saryoh club lounge, restaurants and the Spa were amazing. We stayed here for a 15 year anniversary and the staff ensured we celebrated and enjoyed all moments. Shout out to the Tepanyaki chef from Hokkaido who has been with The Capitol Tokyu for over 15 years, from preparing a remarkable and unforgettable meal. The hotel and its staff really make their residents feel extra special. Well done
Akasaka Urban Hotel Annex

Found myself here for three nights in June for some meetings in the Akasaka and I'm glad that I took the chance and booked this property instead of my usual standbys over in Kanda! While it's supposedly a two star property, it's the small touches that really add on that made it feel like a five star experience! As I arrived too early to check-in I ended up having to store my luggage but what was surprising was that the wonderful staff would deliver it once the room was ready, a nice touch that I don't expect in supposedly higher star hotels even in Japan where I'd usually have to claim my luggage separately before/after checking in! The room itself is the typical efficient business hotel standard with some pleasant surprises like the small rubber duck that greeted me in the bathroom! As it's a typical no-frills business hotel, there's no breakfast available in this property but there is a complimentary coffee machine in the lobby. For access to the property the closest exit at Tameike-sanno Station (Ginza and Namboku Lines) is Exit 10 though Exit 7 will also work if you need escalators/elevator accessibility.

2 I stayed, but it is close to Akasaka station of Chiyoda line and from Sanno kusunoki, and there is a Hanamasa, and the water can be bought cheaply. The room was also airy because there was a large window and it was open.

It’s a new hotel largely meant for business travellers but it works excellently for tourists too. The staff were very well trained and did everything they could to help make our stay comfortable and the place was spotless. Location was great, Akasaka is a nice part of Tokyo, we were three minutes walk from bustling bars and restaurants, one of which served great food at OK prices, we were near three Metro stations and we could walk to the imperial palace from the hotel. Breakfast was quite expensive but worth it. It was heavily Japanese with some leanings to the westerners but we loved the flavours and textures of the Japanese offerings, breakfast here was a great start to the day. An interesting element was the direct connection to a convenience store from the ground level of the hotel and having an Irish pub next door was a plus. It’s a good place to stay if Akasaka is where you want to be.

Hotel has a pretty good location, walking distance to train stations, plenty of restaurants around, next to a Seven Eleven which is pretty handy for snacks at night. Breakfast was descent although no option of soy or almond milk. Easy check in with a machine and robots which was fun, check out at 11 is good as well. I would stay there again but I would get a room with two beds because there’s not enough if you have more than one baggage.
