I had a really nice stay here. The room is nice and clean, the location of the hotel is in the heart of old town with walking distance to many attractions. Staff, Xu Fei (if I understand correctly) is kind, polite, and helpful. As a solo traveler, he made my trip more fun. If you are looking a nice stay in Lijiang, I would not hesitate to recommend this place.

We had the best stay at MuKa Pastoral Manor during our Yunnan trip. The property has a true resort-like atmosphere, complemented by exceptional butler service. Upon check-in, we were added to a dedicated WeChat group with the hotel team. Since there is no telephone in the room, guests can simply send any request or question via WeChat, and the staff respond almost instantly. The hotel also uses the group chat to share daily reminders about breakfast hours, afternoon tea, the complimentary photoshoot, tea sessions, and the nightly bonfire activities. It made communication very convenient and personalized. One experience that really impressed us was when we had to leave before breakfast hours for an early sightseeing trip. We asked if they could prepare something simple for us, and they thoughtfully packed bread, boiled eggs, milk, and local snacks. It was an unexpected gesture that we truly appreciated. We stayed in a Level 2 duplex-style room with two separate bedrooms and bathrooms, making it perfect for a family or a group of four. The room was spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with an oxygen supply system and a dehumidifier. The butler also took the initiative to explain how to use the oxygen system and shared useful advice on managing altitude sickness, especially after learning about our previous and upcoming destinations. The afternoon tea and nightly bonfire experience are held on Level 5, which also features a cozy mini library. While most of the books are in Chinese, guests are free to browse and enjoy the space. We particularly enjoyed the traditional yak butter tea experience around the bonfire in the evening. Although the property is located about 20 minutes by Didi from Shangri-La Ancient Town, transportation is very convenient and ride-hailing services are readily available. The hotel also provides complimentary transfers to and from Shangri-La Railway Station, which was a nice added benefit. What truly sets MuKa Pastoral Manor apart is its outstanding hospitality and beautiful natural surroundings. The farm, courtyard, and open spaces create a peaceful retreat close to nature. My favorite part was waking up each morning to breathtaking views of Shika Snow Mountain (石卡雪山) right outside the window. Overall, this was one of the most memorable stays of our trip. Between the attentive service, comfortable rooms, thoughtful amenities, and stunning scenery, I would highly recommend MuKa Pastoral Manor to anyone visiting Shangri-La. I speak highly of the place, but if there is one area for improvement, it would be the breakfast selection. Given the overall standard and level of service they provide, I would have expected a slightly higher-quality breakfast offering. It felt somewhat underwhelming, with very basic Western options (bread, egg, jam) and Asian offerings (Mi Xian), along with milk, coffee, and juice. The juice also did not seem freshly prepared, but rather packaged.

Great location! It's just a few minutes walk to the South Gate of the Old City, which I found incredibly convenient. The courtyard is beautiful and offers an expansive view. Sunlight streams in as soon as you open the windows. Even though it's close to the Old City, it's very quiet at night, so you won't be disturbed. Highly recommend!

This hotel is great! The room looks exactly like the pictures online. The location is super convenient for getting around. They even rent out electric scooters on-site, and the staff are really helpful with directions. As someone from Malaysia who isn't familiar with the area, renting a scooter and following their explanations and maps was no problem at all 😂. They also offer a shuttle service to Lijiang, which is really cost-effective and convenient. They pick you up right at the entrance. You can ask the friendly guys at the front desk – it's truly a one-stop service! 👍🙏 💰 Fair price ✅ 💰 Scooter rental, super cheap ✅ Clean and tidy environment ✅

Stayed here for 2 nights, but in two different rooms, so I got to experience both. Overall, the hotel has a great view and a generally comfortable stay. It is a bit far from most main attractions, although it is relatively close to the railway station. There is a nearby bus station (Line 6), but getting to the Ancient Town and other popular areas is still quite far, so using Didi is often the easier option. The lobby also provides tea, coffee, and water, which is a nice touch. My first room was on the 2nd floor and felt very modern and new. The bed was especially comfortable, and everything felt fresh and well-designed — I really liked this room. My second room was on the 5th floor, and there is no lift in the building, so carrying luggage up the stairs can be quite tiring. The staff kindly helped me, which I really appreciated, especially since it was quite a lot of effort. This room had a nice view, but it felt a bit older compared to the first one, especially the bathroom. If I had to choose, I personally preferred the first room for its newer feel and comfort, but both stays were still pleasant in different ways.

Our overall stay exceeded expectations! The hotel's location is fantastic, making it easy to go out for meals and visit attractions. The room was meticulously cleaned; there wasn't a speck of dust in the corners. The bathroom had a wet/dry separation, 24-hour hot water was consistent, and the mattress was just right—neither too soft nor too firm. The soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep without any disturbances. The front desk staff were warm and polite, making check-in a breeze, and they were quick to respond to any requests. The facilities are comprehensive, and the environment is clean and elegant. For the price, the value for money is outstanding. This will be our top choice whenever we visit this area. Highly recommend it to anyone traveling!

My absolute favorite part was the 300-square-meter rooftop terrace! The view was absolutely stunning. During the day, you could see the Golden Pagoda gleaming in the distance, and at dusk, the silhouette of the Peacock Tower was breathtaking in the sunset. At night, the breeze and the lights of the night market made every photo a potential social media sensation. The receptionist even proactively reminded me of the best times for taking pictures – such thoughtful service! The details were also excellent; there was a rest area on the terrace with complimentary tea. I spent every day on the terrace during my stay and never wanted to leave. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Xishuangbanna!

The B&B was clean and tidy. It's a small courtyard with flowers and scenery, very peaceful. The breakfast was plentiful, and they even offered milk at night. The B&B is located in an alley off the main street, and once you exit the alley, you're right on the market street with lots of food options. There's freshly baked flower cake, Xizhou粑粑 (a local specialty), wild mushroom hotpot, and a Halal beef restaurant, all of which taste great. Parking is convenient; you can park for free in the residents' committee courtyard at the entrance of the alley. It's very safe as they lock the main gate after the committee closes. It's about a 10-minute walk to Sideng Street. We stayed in a twin room, and it had a projector, which made the kids very happy.

I had a wonderful stay here and truly enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere is warm, peaceful, and beautifully decorated in a ******* style, giving the place a unique cultural feeling. The owner is very kind and welcoming. Although they cannot speak English, they made a great effort to communicate and help with everything, which made me feel very comfortable and well cared for. The room was clean, comfortable, and well designed with clearly separated areas. Complimentary tea was provided, adding to the relaxing atmosphere. The location is also excellent — close to the main walking street and surrounded by many delicious restaurants. Another highlight is the free pick-up and drop-off service, as well as the tasty snacks provided by the hotel. These thoughtful details made the stay even more memorable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable stay with local charm and a genuine ******* atmosphere. Don’t miss the chance to try yak meat while you are here! 😊

Let me tell the world about the amazing makeup service at this place! The value for money is incredible, absolutely fantastic! Even with my phone's natural camera, I was super satisfied with how it turned out. Plus, they only cater to in-house guests, so no waiting in line for makeup – the experience is top-notch! The owner and the ladies at the shop are all so warm and helpful, they'll even assist you with styling. Returning the clothes is super convenient too; getting your makeup done beautifully downstairs in the morning and then returning the clothes back at the hotel in the evening is just brilliant! **Facilities:** The whole place is bursting with ******* style. The hotel has parking and an elevator, which is a huge plus for guests with lots of luggage. There's even a humidifier in the room. Breakfast is great too, you can choose whatever you like from the buffet, including rice noodles and more. **Cleanliness:** An auntie comes to clean every day, and disposable towels and toothbrushes are provided. **Service:** The hotel staff are all incredibly enthusiastic, and the airport drop-off service is super convenient! There's also an adorable little dog at the shop. Next time I'm in Shangri-La, I will definitely come back here. The experience was truly nice!

The atmosphere is absolutely amazing and every photo turns out beautifully. The room is well-equipped with storage, drinking water, and tea/coffee facilities. The bathrobes are soft, the lighting is gentle, and the smart home system is easy to operate. Overall, it's clean and peaceful, and after a long day of traveling on the plateau, returning to the room is incredibly therapeutic. The attention to detail is evident everywhere, the service is attentive, and the stay was a wonderful experience!

GGuest UserThe staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They confirmed my check-in details and the hotel's location in advance. Upon arrival, they immediately offered to help with my luggage and even assisted with purchasing tickets for the Song Dynasty City show (I didn't realize discounted tickets needed to be bought a day in advance, but the hotel managed to get them for me). They were consistently warm and welcoming whenever I saw them. The breakfast was plentiful and, more importantly, delicious, with a fantastic view from the restaurant. The room was spacious and modern, featuring a double vanity and a large dressing mirror, perfect for two women to get ready simultaneously. My friend was extremely pleased. Initially, I was a bit worried based on some user-uploaded photos on Amap, but thankfully, the hotel's photos on Trip.com were accurate and trustworthy, not misleading. Overall, I'm very satisfied.

LLidusGreat location, look for the yellow boards and you will find it easily. The room items are little bit used but all is all right and clean. I would not recommend to stay during cold nights - the room doesnt have AC. I was staying in room 207 and i heard all noise from stairs, even just walking and also people in room 206 were awake and screaming whole night so be aware of that.

GGuest UserI've lost count of how many times I've stayed at Meishan Inn. It's truly my favorite inn in Dali Ancient City! The location is superb, extremely close to all the fun spots around Renmin Road and the ancient city, yet it's incredibly quiet at night, not noisy at all. The owner's service is incredibly thoughtful and meticulous; any questions or requests are handled perfectly. The inn itself is beautifully decorated, making it a perfect place to unwind and relax. I could easily spend an entire afternoon doing nothing but sitting in the courtyard. I genuinely recommend everyone to stay here!

AAgathe2This hotel was the best stay of my trip in Sichuan / Yunnan. I cherish the countryside and i was apply to go out of the city to enjoy the slow life, the real life with nature and animals. This stay gave me everything! The owners, 仁安 里 and Jiren, welcomed me like a was family. I was starving and they invited me to have dinner with them. It was really nice and i felt really included into their community. The room was spacious, luminous, and confortable with a huge bed ! I really loved staying on the sofa in the morning, when the sun was blazing. The breakfast was good and generous. My favorite day was to discover the surrounding of the hotel, walking in the village, seeing all the cute animals (cows, baby cows, dogs, cats, poneys, roosters). The owner was so considerate to me, he drove me to Shangri-La city center because no taxis were available. Visiting the old town, i was so happy to have chosen a hotel away from this touristic place. He also picked me up and drop me off at the train station. I would absolutely recommend and return to this hotel. I loved it very much. It gave me the opportunity to relax, discover ******* culture and amazing people, and live the slow life. Thanks again, and Tashi Delek !

JjessicazengStaying here really shaped our time at Shangri-la - may have enjoyed our time here as the highlight! It was perfect to relax here at the end of our Yunnan trip, away from the bustle of the ancient town. In April, the grass of Napa Hai was a bit dry with the ”lake” area being diminished, so it wasn't as pristine and picturesque as seen in some photos. I did love the expanse of the clouds in the sky though. Also, to get to nicer and more scenic spots, that required calling a Didi (which didn't take long, in spite of this place being more remote) - just something to note. When coming back from the ancient city, it does take longer (and the roads are quite dark at night), but we didn't have any problems getting back. Our favorite part was all the super friendly animals roaming around - ”Ke le” (Coke) and ”Ka fe” (Coffee) the two samoyed dogs, ”Duo duo” and ”Dou dou” the two cats. Each time, they came to greet us. On one night, Duo duo the cat followed us into our room upstairs and started taking a nap; on the second night, Ke le, the large white samoyed, came into our room and started relaxing there, happily drooling and panting all the while. During one of the mornings, we had breakfast, and both (especially Ke le) were also clustered around us. On one of the days where we were heading out, Ke le even walked all the way with us to the street entrance where we called a taxi. (Apparently Ke le often accompanies and sends guests off.) Breakfast was the familiar mi xian noodles, with some pickled vegetables available. We enjoyed the pets around us as we ate. The accommodations were also super modern and very fancy, one of the best renovated stays I've experienced. They even had a machine that would increase the oxygen flow in the evenings, an air purifier, and floor heating - the whole floor got very warm. Very comfortable beds. The shower and toilet are in separate rooms, with the sink in the middle - slightly inconvenient to change in the shower, but not a big problem. The staff was super helpful too! They came to pick us up from the train station upon arrival, and even sent us back when we were leaving around 6:30am (thanks to him for waking up so early to help us, even before the sun had risen)! It's about 10-15min away from the train station, very convenient. When we arrived, there was even a complimentary afternoon tea and snacks option, which they delivered to our room. There's also a rack of Tibetan-esque clothing you can borrow, though we opted to try some other clothes in the ancient city. It was hard to leave after the affection of the animals and how relaxing it was - wish we could've stayed longer!

GGuest UserTook my mom out for a trip and saw Aling's live stream on Douyin. She came across as very practical, genuine, and unpretentious, so we decided to stay for a few days. Overall, it was a really good experience. As soon as you enter the courtyard, there's a water feature with koi fish, which gives a vibrant and lively feel. The two young men working there were incredibly attentive and patient in answering our questions, and their demeanor was very refined. We also had the good fortune to meet a compatible travel couple, Sister Liu and her husband, at Aling's place. It felt like such a serendipitous encounter for people from the north and south to meet here. In the evening, we gathered in Aling's courtyard to chat, drink tea, and share our travel experiences. It was truly delightful. Thank you, Aling, for bringing us all together!

GGuest UserThe view from the accommodation is absolutely stunning! It’s located right in the ancient town, making it super convenient to get around, with endless food options nearby. You can easily take a stroll around the old town at night. Most importantly, the staff provided exceptional service—I was beyond impressed. If I could give them a million stars out of a hundred, I absolutely would! The staff were incredibly helpful. They carried our luggage for us (which was a lifesaver since dragging bags through the ancient town is quite tough) and even helped us plan our itinerary to find the most convenient routes. Their recommendations were spot-on! On top of that, they made us delicious tea every single day, and the breakfast was absolutely amazing. If you are visiting Lijiang, I highly recommend staying here. It’s truly wonderful!

GGuest UserLijiang is a well-established tourist destination, and its developed tourism industry has nurtured a hotel scene where most hotels in the same price range will likely score a solid, if unremarkable, passing grade. However, if you're seeking a truly discerning aesthetic experience, Baolin might be one of the rare, outstanding answers. Hotels under the snowy mountains often leverage window views, but after seeing so many, they tend to look alike, sometimes bordering on a tacky 'influencer' vibe. Just when I was overwhelmed and bored with the choices, I spotted Baolin, and it instantly clicked. I booked it without hesitation. We arrived at Yuhu Village in the evening, amidst a heavy rain. The entire ancient village was steeped in a lake-like blue, truly living up to its name! Our room was on the second floor, painted in a 'cosmic latte' shade, somewhere between beige and warm yellow. The wall near the main bed featured a subtly designed, elongated window, like a scroll painting, effortlessly transforming the serene lake blue outside into a private artwork hanging within the room. Seeing us drenched, the staff immediately brought two cups of hot ginger tea. And from that ginger tea onwards, everything we consumed at Baolin was delightfully delicious. The rainy weather brought on a lazy mood, so we stayed in and ordered stir-fried beef, 'water-loving' vegetables (水性杨花), stir-fried seasonal greens, golden pheasant flower omelet, and mint ribs, along with orange juice, matcha, hojicha, coffee, and affogato. My thumb was constantly up in approval when it came to the food! The owner is a true gourmand and managed to find two local chefs. These chefs are shy but extremely meticulous about their cooking. What I thought would be a simple stir-fried beef dish turned out to be incredibly thoughtful, featuring finely chopped large cilantro, tender chive roots, and fragrant wild coriander. Every ingredient was fresh from the local market, vibrant and exuding the wild charm of Yunnan. Stir-fried and blended in the heat, each component wholeheartedly contributed to making the meal exceptionally satisfying and just right! One evening, we went downstairs to sit by the fire and pet cats. During our chat, we learned the owner is *********. She rummaged through her storeroom and miraculously produced a bottle of Kinmen Kaoliang liquor. We drank it neat after freezing it. Who would have thought ********* liquor would be so perfectly suited to a rainy night on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau? Each sip was crisp and clear, a whirlwind of wheat on the tongue, pushing the joy and comfort of our trip to its absolute peak. During my school days, I loved staying in B&Bs, seeking a sense of story, where the host's experiences, aesthetics, and taste would form the 'base spirit' of the B&B, overflowing with beauty to share with travelers. After starting work, I sought absolute comfort and a controlled social distance, relegating the expectation of stories to a hidden corner. So why does Baolin count as such a pleasant surprise? It's because the travel goals of both these life stages subtly found their answers here, beauty in harmony. The answer lies in a 'beauty' that withstands scrutiny and contemplation. The burst of joy and surprise upon encountering such beauty is universally shared.
