The pros: The hotel's scenic map is excellent, and the route recommended by the short-haired staff at the front desk was very reasonable. The bedding was also fantastic, super comfortable to sleep in. The location is great, right next to Baofeng Lake, and about a 15-minute taxi ride from Huanglong Cave. If it's foggy and unsuitable for going up the mountains, there are alternative attractions nearby.
The cons: The hotel is a bit far from the East Gate of the Forest Park. While the hotel offers shuttle service, if you're primarily visiting the Forest Park and plan to eat mostly around the East Gate, staying at a hotel closer to the East Gate might be more convenient.

I would like to thank the entire hotel team who helped me a lot to plan my stay in 张家界。 The hotel helped me book my tickets to visit 天门山,张家界森林公园,张家界大峡谷。 They gave me very useful advice on interesting places to visit, transportation to use. For my part, I have often used the taxi to visit the sites (most are 30 minutes away by taxi, except for 张家界大峡谷 located an hour away by taxi) but you can take the bus as well. The hotel really corresponds to my expectations, the room benefitted from a view of the mountain. I also used the fairly well-equipped fitness room every day and the washing machines accessible at any time of the day. Breakfast from 6:30 a.m. is also quite rich. In short, I am fully satisfied with this hotel and I recommend it to all family or lonely travellers like me. je tiens à remercier toute l'équipe de l'hôtel qui m'a beaucoup aidé pour planifier mon séjour à 张家界。L'hôtel m'a aidé à réserver mes tickets pour visiter

This time when I went back to my hometown, I didn't want to stay at home, so I just looked at the luxury list online. Our Panlong Villa Hotel was only more than 200 yuan, so I booked it. As expected, I was not disappointed. The rice noodles I took home were very comfortable and tasted very authentic. The food tasted good too. The room was better than I expected. Although Panlong has been around for a long time, the items in the room are well maintained, and you can see the star quality. The environment outside is also very good. I asked the waiter, and the catering is being upgraded, and the guest rooms will also be upgraded. As a Xiangtan native, I am really happy to see that my hometown is getting better. I will come again next time and bring my family with me. When I come again, my children will probably be very excited to see the musical fountain.

This stay was a pleasant surprise! The hotel is in an excellent location, and it is very convenient for shopping and dining. The room is spacious and bright, and the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows have a great view. It is so relaxing to overlook the city night view at night. The bathroom is separated into dry and wet areas. What I remember most is the service. When I needed a sewing kit during the stay, the staff delivered it to the room in less than 5 minutes. When I checked out, Phoebe took the initiative to ask for help calling a taxi, which was very considerate! The whole experience was comfortable and worry-free, and I have recommended it to my friends.

The hotel is right in the city center, which makes getting around super convenient. It's close to all the main attractions, and there's a subway station just a few hundred meters away. The room was really clean and spacious, perfect for a family trip. The concierge was also very responsive and quick to help with any issues we had during our stay. Excellent service, highly recommended! [Strongly recommended emojis]

They proactively reached out a day before my arrival to confirm my check-in time and provided the precise location, which was very thoughtful. The room is well-equipped, and the location is incredibly convenient. Right downstairs, you have direct access to Jiefang West Road, Pozi Street, Taiping Old Street, IFS, and the pedestrian street. The customer service attendant was also wonderfully attentive. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

I’ve been travelling in China for 4 months now and this is by far the best hotel I’ve stayed in since I’ve arrived. The room was extremely clean and modern. The customer service was also top notch and they really try their best to make sure you are well taken care of. When I arrived they were kind enough to upgrade my room and even took the time to get me a map of Zhangjiajie National Park when they found out I intended to visit. They also spent time drawing out a route for me and explaining the best routes through the park and helped me get discounted tickets for entry, the in-park buses, elevators and lifts. They also give a complimentary cocktail at the hotel bar and the bartender was very welcoming and even helped take me to the washroom when I suddenly had a nosebleed. If I visit Zhangjiajie again I’ll definitely come back and book this hotel!
The location is a bit distant from the main area. It’s walkable and pretty on a nice weather, but will be unpleasant if it were raining or hot. The room is nice with good fixtures. Windows are thick and pretty sound proof. Water pressure in the shower is weak. Overall the stay was comfortable. Because of the location, you cannot take public transportation to the hotel. However, if you are concerned about breaking your luggage wheels, this hotel is not far from a main road so you won’t need to wheel your luggage on stone road too much.

My trip to Zhangjiajie this time was unexpectedly good! The Qishi Li hotel was clean and picturesque, and the staff provided excellent service. The breakfast wasn't extensive, but it was delicious. Plus, it's just a few minutes' walk to Charming Xiangxi, and a short taxi ride to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Thousand-Year Romance. The underfloor heating throughout the hotel made our winter trip super comfortable. The second, third, and seventh floors offer beautiful photo opportunities, and you can even book traditional ethnic costumes for a photoshoot right there. All in all, I'm extremely satisfied and highly recommend it! 👍
Honestly, half the reason I love Changsha is because of this hotel. It's incredibly good value for money, and they even included breakfast, which was really extensive and perfect for someone like me who can't handle spicy food. The hotel thoughtfully provided a butler who helped me with all my questions. Because I was taking traditional Chinese medicine, I even asked the hotel to store my medication for me and deliver it on time every day. The service was exceptionally attentive. The room was clean, tidy, and had no strange odors – which was great since I'm sensitive to fragrances, there was no scent at all. The only minor drawback was that the toilet and shower weren't in separate rooms, so it could be a bit noisy for my roommate in the morning, but it's not a big issue. Also, the hotel offers free parking, which was super convenient since I rented a car. All in all, thumbs up! I'll definitely come back next time.

LLyndsey99Our stay here was perfect, what an amazing place! The staff are exceptional, and really care about guest experience. They provide transport to and from the east gate of the national park, and will help you plan your day. The service was perfect even down to the small details, like putting mosquito repellent out on the table we liked to play cards at, and providing us with a printed photo of our favourite memory there to take away with us.
The room was great, the views were breathtaking. After a long day at the park, we really appreciated having a small swimming pool there for a dip. Food options were good - we enjoyed our dinners and the breakfast buffet. Orders can be placed in advance on WeChat when you are on your way back from a day at the park. There was a decent range of both soft and alcoholic drinks available.
What we loved the most is that they have struck the perfect balance between luxury and a kind of homely comfort. We felt so relaxed here. An added bonus for us was their friendly dogs and cat, as we were starting to miss our own dogs at home by this point of our trip.
The location was fantastic. It is close to the national park, but the views are so good that if you choose to relax at the hotel you won’t miss anything. If our room wasn’t booked for the following days, we would have extended our stay. One of our favourite places we have ever stayed, not just in China. Thank you to everyone at Celestial Vally for an excellent stay!
GGuest UserAs a newly married couple on a honeymoon, this hotel left us with perfect romantic memories. The intelligent guest control system creates a two-person world full of technology, and the toilet with heating and automatic cleaning functions allows us to completely relax after a long trip. Every morning, you can share a free and exquisite breakfast in the air garden full of flowers, and in the evening, you can walk ten minutes to the Wulingyuan landmark gate to enjoy the sunset. What surprised us the most was that the three cute cats seemed to know that we were newlyweds, and the little kitten would always tilt its head and curiously look at us, adding warmth and fun to our honeymoon trip.

GGuest UserExceptional Stay at Zhangjiajie Sunshine Hotel
My recent three-night stay at Zhangjiajie Sunshine Hotel was absolute perfection! The second I walked in, the front desk team welcomed me warmly and finished check-in in minutes—no tedious waiting at all.
My room was impeccably clean, with a plush bed that had me sleeping soundly each night. Waking up to the faint view of Zhangjiajie’s lush mountains through the window was a lovely surprise, and the room’s quietness made it ideal for relaxing after day trips.
The breakfast buffet shone with fresh options, from crispy pastries to hearty hot dishes, and the coffee was always smooth. What truly made this stay unforgettable was Service Steward Xiao Yu—he remembered my preference for early breakfast, helped arrange a timely taxi to the scenic area, and even left a note with local snack recommendations.
I’ll 100% book Zhangjiajie Sunshine Hotel again on my next trip and can’t recommend it enough—especially if you get to be assisted by Xiao Yu!
GGuest UserOverall, I was very satisfied with my stay. The hotel's parking lot is spacious and plentiful, which is especially convenient for self-driving travelers like us – it's our top choice when driving. The location is also very convenient, close to Hongqiao, and you can walk there in just a few minutes. The breakfast was decent, but the variety wasn't particularly extensive. The service was very thoughtful; they kindly provided fruit upon check-in and ginger candy upon check-out. The staff were warm and attentive, making for a great overall experience.
Ttianbian****First off, I have to say, this is the best hotel experience I've had domestically. The views are incredible, directly overlooking Tianmen Mountain. My flight landed at midnight, but the butler patiently picked me up. At one point, I wanted to grab a bite and invited the butler to join me, but they politely declined, saying they had other guests to pick up. I really appreciate such a responsible staff member. I'm very satisfied with the hotel's facilities; I didn't encounter any cleanliness issues that some negative reviews mentioned. Perhaps that's more common during peak season. I visited during the off-season, and it happened to be a clear, sunny day, so the 'Sky Mirror' on the rooftop was absolutely stunning. I imagine those who had a less-than-ideal experience probably visited on a cloudy day, which might make the hotel appear dated. Also, reading some of those negative reviews in the comments section genuinely made my head spin – are we even talking about the same hotel? For the price you paid, to get a hotel like this, shouldn't you be thrilled? If you're going to complain about everything, maybe don't travel at all. Seriously, I rarely find such a unique hotel in China. The last time I stayed at a hotel that was this delightful and relaxing was in Guilin, but that cost 1600 RMB. Honestly, if you manage to book this hotel, you should be secretly celebrating!
LLllaspenStylish Airbnb super close to Tianmen Park.
Good location, easy to find but not quite convenient for parking. Close to Tianmen Park if that is part of the trip plan.
Got free upgrade, so I could stay next to my parents. Two rooms with their own yards are super soothing.
Good facilities generally, but there could be some improvements too, such as the floor in my parents’ room, and maybe add some sticker on switches to avoid some confusions.
Other than that, I love the foam pillows, much better than normal soft pillows in hotels, also love the comb it provides in the bathroom. Good toilet and good bath amenities like shampoo and shower gel. Recommend to provide bathrobe too instead of waiting for request from guests.
I also love the auto curtains and traditional styled wooden door.
I couldn’t catch breakfast for my travel plan but parents did, they love it. Services from the host was great, especially when it comes to laundry service. He also helped with parking.
Overall highly recommended!
GGuest UserThe best reception in any resort I have ever gotten!
Mainly Cherry received us very warmly, guided us, produced us with a lot of helpful tips and tricks.
The room we stayed in was the Watery B one, very spacious, nice bathtub and very clean.
Location-wise they provide you with free shuttles to the train station, Natural Park (Avatar) & Glass Bridge.
The food in the Chinese hotel was nice, with a very talented singer, Monica.
The owner of the hotel is very warm, curious and smart person.
Altogether, we felt home there and will 100% return!
GGuest UserThe service provided by the hotel staff was outstanding. The frontline service staff were professional, attentive, and courteous, with special mention to Claire, who made my stay particularly pleasant.
Claire welcomed me on the day of check-in and handled all formalities efficiently and clearly. When I enquired about visiting Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, she patiently explained the routes and logistics using a map and proactively offered assistance with booking the required entry reservation slots. After I purchased a four-day park pass, she took the time, on my request, to explain the routes again in detail, recommending options that required less walking. Her explanations were exceptionally clear and delivered with remarkable patience. As a frequent traveler (approximately 100–120 days per year), I found this level of attentiveness and dedication to guest support truly exceptional.
She further assisted with booking park entry for my second and fourth days and even followed up via WeChat to confirm whether I was able to gain entry at a later hour. Her professionalism and warmth exemplify the finest traditions of Chinese hospitality and undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on international guests.
The other staff members were equally commendable. The second-floor service staff, whose office is located near the laundry room, demonstrated excellent teamwork and a strong service ethic. After completing their primary duties, they kindly assisted guests by drying laundry in the dryer and folding it once completed—an unexpected and much-appreciated gesture. I shared this experience with friends back home, and they were genuinely amazed by such a high level of service.
The hotel facilities were new, well maintained, and fully functional. Breakfast offered a satisfactory and enjoyable variety, sufficient to prepare guests for a full day of activities. In addition, the hotel provides a light supper from 8:00 pm onwards, consisting of three types of porridge. This thoughtful offering was especially comforting during winter; during my five-night stay, snowfall occurred on the fourth and fifth nights.
Overall, this hotel delivers an excellent standard of service, comfort, and hospitality. I would highly recommend it to both domestic and international travelers.
GGuest UserThis hotel went above and beyond during my stay. Rain who first greeted us was helpful from the very beginning of the stay until the very end. The hotel provided a detailed route for the Zhangjiajie National Park and even provided transportation to the park and pick up once completed. In addition they assisted with the luggage during check in and check out. If flying or riding into Zhangjiajie, the hotel does offer setting up transportation to and from the hotel if needed at a very reasonable fee. The hotel offered a buffet breakfast and complimentary tea with the tea master, who was also amazing at making the stay feel very welcoming. Once the tea master and Rain found out it was my birthday they made my day one to remember. The tea master wrote me a congratulatory calligraphy scroll and set up a cake with Rain to be given to me as well. The hotel also offered activities every evening. On the day I was able to attend, they taught me how to make peach cookies which was so fun and delicious. The tea master also showed us how to do calligraphy while we waited for the cookies to be baked. Rain set up a Wechat with the staff where I was able to conveniently pre order dinner, which was super delicious. My favorite was the eggplant with pork. I can't express in enough words how everyone here made the stay the most enjoyable. For anyone visiting Zhangjiajie, I highly recommend staying here. I wish I could have spent more nights here to enjoy the entire resort such as the heated pool and sunset terrace.
