I chose this hotel to celebrate my husband's birthday, and it was absolutely stunning! Watching the underwater world from our room was incredibly dreamy. Our private butler started coordinating with my birthday planner two weeks before check-in, cooperating fully, arranging gifts, and even asking about my husband's preferences to prepare a surprise cake and a huge bouquet. Besides assisting the planner, the butler also decorated our bed. To my surprise, they even prepared an underwater birthday message, which I had initially planned to arrange myself – another lovely surprise from the butler! We also had a beluga whale interaction, and my husband, while diving, specifically arranged to interact with me through our room's glass panel. In short, their service was outstanding, fulfilling every request! The breakfast spread was so abundant it couldn't fit on one table. Upon departure, they even arranged a car to take us to our next hotel, which was incredibly thoughtful. P.S. The gigantic osteoglossid fish was amazing! 🐟

February 21, 2026 – Stayed in a Sea View Family Room
During our Spring Festival trip to the western side of Hainan, Ocean Flower Island was a crucial stop. We planned a two-night stay and, for convenience, chose the highly acclaimed Oubao Hotel on the island.
1. **Parking:** If you're driving, you can directly access the island and navigate to the Oubao Hotel. There's an underground parking lot, and if it's full, staff can direct you to other nearby parking areas. For those leaving the island, you can register at the front desk in advance to enjoy free parking.
2. **Hotel:** The hotel is massive in scale. The majestic lion sculptures and fountain outside the main entrance are grand, especially at night with the interwoven lighting, it feels like entering another world. It boasts the most single-unit guest rooms in Asia, composed of four interconnected Y-shaped European castles, each with a unique natural theme: forest, ocean, castle, and glacier. Our room was in the Glacier Castle, with corridors and rooms featuring a blue and white palette and abundant glacier and animal elements. The ground floors of the four castles connect to form the hotel lobby and check-in area. The space is vast, with a cathedral-like glass dome ceiling. In the center below, there was a festive New Year display, a vibrant and joyful scene. On one side of the lobby, two grand, symmetrical spiral staircases descend from the second floor, one white and one red, both adorned with flowers, creating a noble and elegant photo spot. The lobby has four exits, each leading to a different castle. After checking in at the front desk, you choose your path based on your room. Each castle has over ten elevators. The entire process left me with one impression: grandness!
3. **Room:** Both the main room and the bathroom were very spacious. It had one large bed and one smaller bed; the small bed, shaped like a train engine, was a nice touch, and the bedding was comfortable. The room's decor and configuration were quite simple and standard, but the glacier theme, with polar bear and penguin elements everywhere, added a refreshing touch. The shower was good, and it was quite rare that the shower enclosure hardly leaked. The window faced the sea, but there was a garden green belt between the castles, so the sea was distant and not a spectacular, unobstructed view. However, we were lucky enough to catch the sunset on our check-in day. The afterglow of the sunset painted the sea, fishing boats, bridge, and villa complex in our view a beautiful reddish hue. This combination and visual experience were stunning and definitely a plus.
4. **Breakfast:** The breakfast restaurant had palace-like high ceilings and space, arranged in a long strip, which made the food retrieval path a bit inefficient. The dishes were abundant and diverse, with local specialties. During our two-day stay, we sampled Hainan Yi noodles, Hou'an noodles, coffee cake, coconut cake, pumpkin cake, and other local delicacies. My elder child loved the Hou'an noodles so much she had two bowls every morning. The dessert selection was also very rich.
5. **Other Facilities and Offers:** During our two-day stay, we experienced the following: On the first evening, we attended a music festival and firework show at the Guanhai Park, with discounted tickets for hotel guests. There's a free bus shuttle near the hotel entrance that goes to places like the Ocean Park and the Fitness Center. We took this shuttle on the second day to swim at the Fitness Center. The hotel's own pool was unavailable, but we could use the Fitness Center's pool for free. It's a standard 50-meter lap pool, and it was my first time experiencing such a pool. There's also a mini-train station on the island not far from the hotel entrance, but we didn't use it.
6. **Service:** All the staff we encountered were very responsible and professional, indicating a high level of overall training.
In summary, it was a truly perfect stay, making it a top choice for accommodation when visiting Ocean Flower Island. Besides meeting basic needs for food, entertainment, and lodging, it also offered a sense of grandeur that is quite rare.

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the beach, just a few minutes' walk to the sand. The front desk and room service staff were warm and attentive, even personally taking us to the pharmacy. Our room was upgraded to one with a large balcony and a great sea view. The public facilities like the pool and lawn areas were well-maintained. Although some facilities are a bit older, the overall value for money is high. The hotel breakfast offered a rich variety, catering to different tastes.

The hotel offers breathtaking ocean views with an expansive outlook. The room was spotlessly clean and tidy, equipped with all the necessary facilities for convenience. The environment was fresh and natural. The front desk staff (our 'butler') were warm, welcoming, and provided meticulous and thoughtful service. Overall, the experience was absolutely fantastic!

We chose the MGM Grand Sanya for our road trip, and it's perfect for a relaxing getaway. The room facilities are comprehensive, and the room service is excellent. The travel photography session they offer was really good, and they even provided a video – overall, it was a fantastic experience! We were very satisfied with our stay; the hotel offers a wide range of activities, and the grounds are expansive. There are two breakfast restaurants to choose from daily: one with Hainanese flavors and local specialties, and another with Chinese and Western options. The staff were all incredibly warm and helpful, and the room service was top-notch. We'll definitely be back!

Facilities: This five-star hotel boasts comprehensive and luxurious facilities. The large balcony with a bathtub, lounge chair, and table is a thoughtful touch. The linens are of excellent quality and very comfortable. However, the toiletries could use an upgrade. The breakfast buffet is rich, varied, and delicious, featuring Hainanese specialties. Dishes and drinks are replenished promptly, which is a big plus! 👍
Cleanliness: Very clean and tidy! 👍
Environment: Both the interior and exterior environments are excellent! It really has a holiday vibe. The hotel offers very convenient and close access to the beach and seawall, and it's clean and not crowded.
Service: The front desk and housekeeping staff are well-trained. They actively greet guests and respond to guest requests promptly and proactively. A huge thumbs up! 👍

This sea-view B&B in Sanya's Tianya Haijiao is so stunning, it leaves me speechless 😭!

Seriously, who gets it? You open the door and there's a panoramic sea view right there.
The white arched design is perfect for photos, and you can watch the sea right from your bed.
The 270° unobstructed sea view makes the ocean a natural painting in your room.
🛏️ The room details are spot on!
Smart curtains + a brand projector make staying in super comfortable.
Free drinks in the mini-bar – they've thought of everything.
The sea-view rooms even come with a bathtub; soaking while stargazing is incredibly romantic.
🚗 Super convenient for getting around!
It's located right in Tianya Town, just a short walk to the beach and the town itself.
They offer a complimentary travel photoshoot upon check-in, complete with props – so convenient!
The restaurant on the basement level has great food and offers excellent value for money.
✨ Check-in Tips

Our stay at the Sanya Tiancheng Central Coast Seaview Hotel was an absolutely perfect experience, far exceeding our expectations! From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were captivated by the warm and attentive service and the unbeatable sea views.
First and foremost, I have to praise the hotel's location – it's incredibly convenient! Situated in the intersection bay area of Sanya Bay, you can walk to the beach in just a few minutes. In the evening, strolling along the Coconut Dream Corridor, watching the sunset slowly dip into the horizon, that tranquility and beauty instantly made us forget all our worries. The hotel is also close to the city center, with a wide array of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. In the evening, we could even head to the First Market Night Market to sample authentic Hainan snacks – there was absolutely no need to worry about food, drink, or entertainment.
And the room's view? Simply spectacular. Our room boasted a 270° panoramic sea view, with huge floor-to-ceiling windows and a viewing balcony that offered breathtaking vistas of the azure sea and sky. We could see the iconic Phoenix Island landmark right from our bed, and even enjoy the light show at night, which truly elevated the ambiance. The room itself was spacious and bright, with a thoughtful layout and soft, comfortable bedding. The circular bathtub on the balcony was a particular highlight – soaking in the tub while admiring the sea view was an utterly luxurious experience.
The hotel's service was another major highlight of this experience, and I must particularly commend our butler, Wendy, and the lady who assisted us with check-in. The personalized butler service was incredibly thoughtful! Throughout our stay, any questions we had were answered promptly. Whether it was asking for travel advice or booking a restaurant, our butler handled everything perfectly, making us feel completely at ease and stress-free. I honestly feel that the service at this hotel surpasses that of Hyatt and Shangri-La. While it may not be considered a 'luxury' hotel, some of its attention to detail is even better than what you'd find in luxury establishments.
Furthermore, the hotel's facilities are also very comprehensive. Overall, this stay was absolutely perfect. Whether you're traveling with family or as a couple, this is an excellent choice. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Sanya!
I've seen many seas and stayed in many seaview hotels, but this one is truly the best. (Attaching a photo of my plane ticket, so you know I'm not a shill!)

We had a few issues at first, but after some communication and coordination, everything was resolved wonderfully. They even upgraded us to a Red-crowned Crane room type, allowing both families to stay together, which made us very happy with the outcome.
First, let's talk about the hotel's advantages:
1. The restaurant is fantastic, with an excellent view. While the food selection isn't vast, the quality is top-notch. I tend to have high standards for hotel breakfast, and considering both the ambiance and quality here, I was very satisfied.
2. The shuttle service is incredibly responsive. The hotel feels like it's spread across the entire mountain, so you rely on the shuttles to get around. They're fast and comfortable.
3. The room views are superb, and the rooms are very clean. The mini-fridge is complimentary, and the amenities are comprehensive. It would be even better if the drinking water wasn't Nongfu Spring.
Here are a few suggestions:
The gathering areas need some maintenance; I noticed some broken stair treads. Since the hotel is quite spread out, there should be more staff to ensure service. Also, better communication between housekeeping and the front desk could prevent many information delays.
And honestly, the glass skywalk was a total rip-off – it was scorching hot and exhausting to walk on. You can skip these attractions and just enjoy the hotel itself.

SSeven。~I was a bit worried before booking this hotel, as the pictures made it look quite old. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. First, as soon as our car pulled up to the hotel entrance, a doorman immediately came over to open the car door and help with our luggage. The same happened when we checked out and were waiting for our car; the doorman promptly opened the door and assisted with our bags. Check-in was also quick and efficient, with no delays. We booked two different room types to experience them both, and they were both quite good. My kids absolutely loved the bunk beds, and having a small courtyard meant they weren't cooped up in the room. Later, we switched to a pool-access room, which was even more fun. It was a little damp, but that's to be expected in a coastal city, and it might also be because I didn't turn on the air conditioning much, fearing my kids would catch a cold. The hotel management must be excellent; every staff member we encountered greeted us warmly. The breakfast was superb with a wide variety of options.
A special shout-out to Holly, the manager. She followed up on everything from check-in, always ready to assist. When I requested to switch to the West Wing, she quickly helped me arrange it and even packed my luggage, including my underwear! Most importantly, on my daughter's birthday (our check-out day), Holly, fearing she wouldn't have enough time, decorated our room the day before. In the evening, she brought a small cake, and even while on her day off, she messaged me to ask about our itinerary. She's truly a wonderful young lady with incredible work ability for her age – thumbs up! 😄👍🏻 I will definitely stay at Yalong Bay Mangrove Tree Resort World again next time; it was a memorable experience.
However, I do have one complaint. When our kids wanted to go to the kids' club, we forgot their socks. They charged 10 RMB for a pair of socks inside – seriously, for what kind of socks? My goodness! We ended up going back to the room to get socks, and then waited over 10 minutes for a car that never came. It took nearly an hour to finally get into the kids' club, in the scorching heat! And the kids only played for a little while before leaving. Was it really worth all that hassle? The staff there also weren't very welcoming to the kids; they had a stern look, and my children were hesitant to ask them for help with the activities. In this regard, I have to praise Tiancheng Belmont Hotel; they directly provide two pairs of anti-slip socks when you go to their kids' club, and you can enter an unlimited number of times every day. So, there are pros and cons overall.
Oh, and by the way, if you're going to put up signs in English, please make sure they're accurate. It should be ”watch your step,” especially with so many international guests. 😓

SShiqingqingiI was a bit hesitant when choosing a hotel in Haitang Bay, especially after seeing some negative reviews about the InterContinental Haitang Bay. However, I really like the InterContinental brand, so I booked it with some trepidation. Now I'm lying here at the MGM in Yalong Bay, but I deeply regret not just staying at the InterContinental for my entire vacation. Let me share my thoughts on the InterContinental Haitang Bay.
**Facilities:**
1. The public areas aren't huge, and there aren't many pools, but they are incredibly clean, and there are a lot of lifeguards. Pool floats, baby floats, and inflatable paddleboards are all provided for free. The towels by the pool are also very warm. The cleanliness is evident; I constantly saw staff cleaning.
2. You need to wear socks in the kids' indoor play area. If you forget, you can buy them at the entrance. All family activities are also held in this area. I saw staff cleaning the ball pit and tidying up the play area at night.
3. The large lawn outside leads directly to the beach. Besides lifeguards, there are staff members specifically responsible for kids' sand toys. Even after 9 PM on the beach, I saw staff meticulously cleaning every single sand toy.
**Cleanliness:** The hygiene here is truly exceptional. Throughout my two-day stay, I continuously saw staff cleaning.
**Room:** I stayed in an ocean-view room, where the bed faced the sea as soon as you opened the door. The room was very spacious and comfortable, and the air conditioning was incredibly quiet.
Regarding the construction noise from the nearby site that everyone's been discussing, yes, it's there. However, it's within legal construction hours, and the soundproofing in the room is excellent. With the balcony door closed, you can barely hear it, even though my room was on the side closer to the construction.
**Service:** From the moment I checked in, I felt the warm service from every staff member. Communication with our butler, Winnie, was also very smooth. She contacted me a day in advance to confirm my check-in time and clearly listed the extra amenities she could provide. When I checked into my room, everything was already set up for me (at MGM, they only contacted me a day in advance and didn't proactively offer anything; I had to ask for the children's toilet seat and toilet cover). Whenever I had any questions at the hotel, the butler responded immediately. She would also inform me in advance if she was going off duty. Even for room cleaning, she would ask us what time was convenient and if we had any requests. She truly was a personal butler.
**Location:** It's very close to the duty-free shop, which makes it convenient for both shopping and dining.
**Gym:** The cardio equipment all had towels and water, it was very clean, and there were no strange odors – I really liked it.
In short, now that I'm at MGM, I really miss my two-day stay at the InterContinental Haitang Bay. Next time, I wouldn't hesitate to choose the InterContinental Haitang Bay for my entire vacation. There are many other things I can't think of right now, but I'll add them later if they come to mind.
SShenniniI used to dislike Haitang Bay, always feeling it was too out of the way. But choosing Shangri-La for this spring break + Qingming Festival was absolutely the right decision. The water park was incredibly fun, especially the two giant slides that even adults enjoyed immensely. The go-karts were also a blast, and the foam party was super lively. I think the entertainment value is on par with Tianyu, but the environment and facilities are much better. Plus, I've never worried about the food quality at Shangri-La; it's consistently good worldwide. The hotel is huge, the restaurants are spacious, and there are plenty of staff, so it never felt crowded or like service was lacking. Our butler, Rodri, was super responsive and enthusiastic, taking care of every little detail. A good butler really elevates the experience, especially when traveling with kids, if you know what I mean, haha. The evening carnival atmosphere was just fantastic, haha. This really shows they put thought into their family-friendly services. The only minor drawback is that Haitang Bay pales in comparison to Yalong Bay.
SShanghaimeishijiaService: Absolutely fantastic! I have to give a special shout-out to the front desk attendant who helped me. She was incredibly patient, kind, and friendly. It had been months since my last visit, but she still remembered me, which made me feel so welcome and warm. I'll definitely be back! Thumbs up!
Hygiene: Pretty good.
Environment: Convenient location and a nice atmosphere.
Facilities: Pretty good, and very well-equipped!
AAnonymous UserThe scenery is lovely, and we received two complimentary afternoon teas and two free laundry services. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
They offered a complimentary yacht trip for two, which was nice. There were additional activities available on board for 380 or 580 [currency units]. For the parasailing, I'd recommend bringing your own phone to take pictures.
There's a shuttle bus service from Phoenix International Airport to the hotel (free one-way airport pickup, not provided by the hotel directly). However, the latest shuttle is at 8:30 PM, so we missed it.
GGuest UserBanyan Tree Sanya went above and beyond to make my birthday absolutely perfect. They put special effort into decorating the bed for the occasion and kindly upgraded me to a two-bedroom villa. The villa itself was lovely, and the outdoor bathtub was a particularly interesting and enjoyable feature. I also added a few personal touches to the decoration. A special thank you to Lily Huang at the reception for organizing everything so thoughtfully—she also surprised me with a birthday cake and a small gift to celebrate. I would highly recommend Banyan Tree Sanya and look forward to staying here again in the future.
GGuest UserI bought a package deal, and it was great value for money. During our stay in Haitang Bay, we spent one day at the duty-free shop, one day at Wuzhizhou Island, and also visited the Atlantis Aquarium. Staying here was super convenient. The hotel can arrange transportation to the duty-free shop. It's an older five-star hotel, so the facilities are a bit dated, but I think it depends on your needs. The hotel's other amenities, like the pools, are all good. My itinerary was a bit packed, so I didn't get to experience them. We had butler service throughout our stay; they checked in on our needs daily and quickly resolved any issues. A big shout-out to our butler, Tudou!
