The B&B is close to the North Gate, so it was pretty easy to find. The owner even picked me up from Pingyao Ancient City Station late at night, which I really appreciated – it made my travel experience so much better. They carefully explained the locations of attractions and gave me a map. When I left, they even gave me some vinegar as a gift; they're incredibly warm and welcoming. Seriously, if you're coming to Pingyao, you should definitely stay here, haha! It's safe, clean, and the facilities are all there. For longer stays, they even proactively clean your room. The decor has a local flair too – who wouldn't want to try sleeping on a traditional heated 'kang' bed without any fuss? Thanks for everything, I'll definitely stay here again next time. Loved it, loved it!

The room furnishings are very new and modern, though there's a slight woody smell from the furniture. The service attitude is excellent, and the breakfast offers a wide variety of choices with a great dining atmosphere. The hotel's swimming pool isn't very large, but it's well-equipped. Bus route 61, which goes directly to Datong Ancient City, stops right outside the hotel. Parking is free for self-driving guests. Overall, it's a fantastic hotel.

The Renyi is a wonderful hotel in a great location looking onto the City walls. We were greeted by the friendly and welcoming owner who showed us to our rooms. We were two independent travellers who decided to have a room each, and both rooms were superb. Mine looked onto the pretty courtyard while my friend’s faced the City walls, with each having a balcony with table and chairs. Both rooms were duplex with comfortable and spacious living areas and bathroom/showers downstairs and the bedroom upstairs. All areas were spotlessly clean and the bed was big and comfortable and I had a wonderful night sleep. Centre stage though is the gorgeous communal area which was adorned with beautiful plants and flowers, a small fish pond and even a peacock that gloriously but quietly strutted its stuff. The location of the hotel is perfect for walking around the ancient city with the major tourist attractions only minutes from the hotel’s door. The ancient city itself is stunning and delightful to walk around. We also took a trip to the nearby Yungang Grottoes which are breathtaking and a must see. We were both amazed by their beauty and historical significance to both Chinese and Buddhist cultures. There are also many great restaurants within walking distance of the Renyi, and the owners were very helpful and provided us with any advice we needed. As other reviewers have said the Renyi is a beautiful blend of historic and modern and I would highly recommended the hotel to anyone thinking of staying in DaTong.

This hotel is great in every aspect. The location is very convenient; you can park right outside, and it's right on the edge of the old town, making it both quiet and easy to explore. The hotel's courtyard is beautifully designed, with charming scenes at every turn. The rooms are spacious, clean, and tidy, with a high level of smart features. I especially loved the instant hot water kettle – I'm seriously considering getting one for my own home! After exploring the old town, it was so relaxing to come back and enjoy a private soak. It's a fantastic place for a weekend getaway~

The hotel lobby is absolutely stunning. Day and night, you face the serene Huayan Temple and watch the crowds in the square. It got colder today, but the afternoon sun was pleasantly warm. Room: I stayed in the Huayan room, the closest one to Huayan Temple. The room looked exactly like the hotel pictures – what you see is what you get. My only minor gripe is that the window is a bit small and faces the replica eaves of the ancient buildings in the square. The details outside the window aren't great; there's an unpeeled protective film on the outer window and a thick electrical wire dangling outside. Facilities: The 'Xiaodu' smart assistant is quite good. However, casting to the TV requires using 'Meibo,' which is really inconvenient. The bathroom is excellent; both the overhead and handheld showerheads can be used simultaneously, making for a very comfortable shower. The faucet design is also great, and there's a thoughtful clothesline in the shower area. The hotel has a laundry room available until 9 PM. Service: I stayed for four days and met six staff members – three men and three women – all incredibly polite. You can tell their service is thoughtful: on the first day, I had knife-cut noodles for breakfast. I didn't mention I don't eat cilantro or green onions, but they disappeared from my breakfast dishes in the following days. The evening foot bath tub is very comfortable, and the foot soak sachet contains red dates, Sichuan peppercorns, and astragalus (couldn't identify the others). The hotel's sea buckthorn juice and astragalus water are also good. Yesterday, I overheard a guest at the front desk complaining about the service, but honestly, it's quite good. When you call, a staff member will always come up to help with luggage. Dining: Breakfast is a set meal, and after a few days, it does get a bit repetitive. However, the knife-cut noodles and rice vermicelli are good, and the siu mai is also tasty. I hope they can vary the side dishes and pastries in the future, maybe offer some fried dough sticks or something... I also have to mention the hot drinks at the front desk: the latte is much, much better than Starbucks, probably because of the quality of the milk. Transportation: Transportation is very convenient; it's easy to get anywhere. I'll definitely come back next time, and I'd like to try a duplex room, haha. It wasn't crowded on Monday, so I peeked into a few empty rooms, and almost every duplex was unique.

It takes a short walk to reach the magnificent Huayan Temple, and it is also close to climb the city wall to overlook the magnificent ancient city. This irreplaceable location gift allows us to truly ”live in the scenery”. Mu Qingchen is far more than a place to sleep for a night. It uses the bricks and tiles of the ancient city as paper and the caring service as ink to write a chapter of the anniversary full of warmth and surprises for us. The breakfast selection is very extensive and the taste is quite good. 4. There is a self-service laundry room and dry cleaning machines, ensuring you have clean clothes to wear every day. 5. There are two business computers next to the reception desk, sufficient for daily office work. Enjoy sightseeing during the day and work in the evening – no disruption! 6. Next to the laundry room is a gym with dumbbells of varying weights. Keep working out!

The moment I moved into ”Xunsu”, I fell in love with it! I was gently awakened by the waves in the morning. The simple design is full of ingenuity - the smart home silently integrates into the natural atmosphere. I love the soft linen couch by the bay window, where I can read a book or be in a daze for a while, and time is so slow that I can hear my heartbeat. The bedding is as skin-friendly as clouds, and even my picky partner rarely praises ”the deep sleep”. The local seasonal fruit plate prepared by the housekeeper is warmer than expected. If there is a regret, it is probably that I couldn't stay a few more days to fully collect this poetic feeling.

The rooms are clean, and the service is prompt. The restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with both buffet and à la carte options. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, and the check-in process was quick and efficient. They also thoughtfully introduced me to all of the hotel's facilities. The room I stayed in was spacious and bright, decorated in a cozy and comfortable manner. The bedding was soft and gentle on the skin. The room's soundproofing was excellent, completely shielding me from outside disturbances. The bathroom was fully equipped, and the toiletries were all high-quality brands, which made using them a real pleasure. The hotel's recreational facilities were also very extensive. The gym had a full range of equipment, meeting all my daily workout needs. The swimming pool was crystal clear with suitable water temperature. Swimming in it, all my fatigue seemed to wash away. This stay was truly impeccable, and I highly recommend everyone to experience this hotel! I believe you'll fall in love with it just as I did.
