Romantic Hotels in Shanxi, China

My experience staying at this hotel as below. 1. They provide pickup and drop off from the train station. The day before the Inn contacted me to make arrangement for the pickup. Then they arranged to drive me back to station on the day I leave. Service was efficient and prompt. Much appreciated. 2. I was able to use the washing machine to wash come clothes which was much needed. Comb and toiletries were provided. So grateful for these little necessities as I left mine at the previous hotel. 3. The boss upgraded me to a bigger and better room because it was the low season. The kang bed was so comfortable and firm. I had the best sleep so far at this Inn. I'm so happy. 4. The Inn is inside the old city and practically next to one of the city gates. Very convenient for sightseeing old Pingyao city. 5. Everyone very friendly and helpful. Boss also gave me a bottle of vinegar. Wish I could take it back to UK with me. 6. The price of this Inn is also very reasonable and affordable. 7. Pingyao is a beautiful, ancient old city. Worth coming. I highly recommend staying here. What a pleasant surprise this stay was! (´▽`) The location is excellent, right next to the district government and very close to the ancient city, making it super convenient for getting around. There's a delicious knife-cut noodle place nearby that opens at 6:30 AM, and the Tangjiu convenience store next door also opens early. The first floor has a lovely book bar where you can borrow books for free, and they serve coffee and cocktails – perfect for enjoying a drink while reading. So many interesting books too! I also really loved their decor; the tatami mat rooms have a dedicated reading table, and the mattress was incredibly comfortable. The disposable amenities were comprehensive, and that horse oil toiletries set left me feeling moisturized inside and out (in a good way!). What really stood out during my stay were the front desk ladies. They were all so wonderful, always greeting us warmly when we returned. Their service was incredibly attentive and so heartwarming! 🥺 Any request we had was met quickly. Thanks to them, I've been sleeping so well these past few days 555. I really don't want to leave! I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Datong. I've already highly recommended it to all my friends! (￣∇￣)

The hotel is new and the rooms are quite spacious. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. It's also very close to Fantawild, which was great for visiting with kids. The pool water was clean, and the kids had a lot of fun, though the water temperature was a bit too cold for little ones, making them shiver. The mini-bar was complimentary, and parking was convenient. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Datong.

This hotel, located on a dedicated floor within an apartment building, truly exceeded our expectations in terms of design, service, and ambiance. My parents especially loved the complimentary afternoon tea and evening cocktails offered daily. The room's design and layout were very well thought out and practical. The WeChat concierge service was incredibly responsive and always ready to help! The location is fantastic, less than 2 km from the Shanxi Museum, and next to a shopping mall. We even caught a movie when it rained, and there are plenty of dining options nearby – super convenient!

Facilities: The design is excellent, and all the amenities are thoughtfully arranged and very practical. The bed and pillows are incredibly comfortable; lying down felt so therapeutic, and I fell asleep almost instantly. Hygiene: The hygiene was impeccable. Environment: The location is perfect, within walking distance of Daiwang Mansion, Drum Tower, and Huayan Temple. After watching the iron flower performance at night, it was just a short stroll back to bed. Service: The service was incredibly attentive and prompt. The butler recommended many delicious local eateries, and they were all indeed fantastic. The tea at the front desk was also delightful; I'd fill my thermos every time I went out – it was so comforting. They even offered a thoughtful bedtime gift, making the overall experience incredibly pleasant.

The room was spacious and bright, and the hotel was very clean – a fantastic experience overall! The staff were very welcoming. We were passing through with family, and they even have free parking with in-and-out privileges. The disposable toilet seat covers were a thoughtful touch. They also upgraded our room type, and the room was truly huge! Highly recommend – it's so much more affordable than other places. Definitely recommend!

My stay at Futiandahua Rain Hot Spring Hotel was absolutely fantastic! First off, the location is superb, right inside the ancient city. It's super close to where they do the iron flower show, which, by the way, is an absolute must-see. I'm getting on in years, but watching that show brought tears to my eyes; I was so moved by the performers' dedication and the incredible spectacle they put on. It's clear the hotel owner pays incredible attention to detail. My two girlfriends and I stayed in a triple room, and from the moment we walked into the lobby, we were gushing over the hotel's ambiance, the staff, and the room's decor. Every little detail was thoughtfully done. Even when we were heading out to explore the ancient city, the front desk proactively offered us a pack of tissues to take with us. The room itself was a standalone unit, so it was incredibly quiet. They delivered coffee and afternoon tea daily, and the fruit plate in the room was fresh. There was also a cooler in the lobby with bottled water available for guests. The whole room was smart-enabled with XiaoDu (a smart assistant), and the shower had great water pressure and was very comfortable, with a separate wet and dry area. Oh, one small thing: the trash can in the bathroom was a bit too small; I hope they can improve that. The private hot spring was amazing. After a full day of sightseeing, coming back to soak in the hot spring and chat was just pure bliss.

The hotel's breakfast was plentiful, and the interior design and decor were excellent. The complimentary bathhouse tickets allowed my family to shower separately, so we didn't have to wait for each other. The main advantage is the excellent soundproofing in the rooms; during the Dragon Boat Festival, I barely heard any sounds like doors closing from other rooms. Overall, it's great value for money and a very comfortable stay. I'll definitely come back. Just a small suggestion: popular attractions like the Yungang Grottoes open at 7 AM during peak season. If breakfast could start at 6:30 AM during peak season, it would be much more convenient for guests to get an early start.

The inn is located near the North Gate of the Ancient City, and it was easy to find. On the day of arrival, the host even called in advance to ask if we needed a pick-up, which was a very thoughtful touch. The surroundings are quite quiet, and getting around is convenient. It's about a kilometer's walk to Huayan Temple, and taxis are readily available for attractions further afield. The inn seems to have been recently renovated; everything is new, clean, and hygienic. The room size is a bit small, but the space is utilized reasonably well. The wall-mounted water dispenser next to the washbasin is very convenient, offering direct drinking water at various temperatures. The mattress was neither too soft nor too firm, and the bedding was clean and comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. However, the lack of a wet/dry separation in the bathroom was a slight drawback. After showering, not only did the toilet get completely wet, but there was water on the floor when entering and exiting, leading to footprints everywhere, which was a bit inconvenient. Other than that, everything else was great. I also want to commend the host, a lovely lady who was gentle and thoughtful. Her voice was soft, and her smile was like a breath of fresh air. When I asked about local food, she was very patient and genuinely shared her recommendations and locations. Overall, the stay was a great experience. Thank you.

Absolutely amazing! I was a bit worried about the noise since the hotel is right in the middle of a food street. When I checked in, I casually asked what time the food street closed, and the lovely lady at the front desk immediately upgraded us to a room on the parking lot side – totally quiet, not a sound! Honestly, just finding a hotel at this price in this area is a win, so I didn't have high expectations. But the front desk and concierge staff were all so wonderful and accommodating with every request. Definitely a five-star review! 🥰🥰🥰
