Hotel near Ocean Flower Island,Danzhou 60.2% of visitors choose this area
MMaotaikun 2026.03.18
February 21, 2026 – Stayed in a Sea View Family Room During our Spring Festival trip to the western side of Hainan, Ocean Flower Island was a crucial stop. We planned a two-night stay and, for convenience, chose the highly acclaimed Oubao Hotel on the island. 1. **Parking:** If you're driving, you can directly access the island and navigate to the Oubao Hotel. There's an underground parking lot, and if it's full, staff can direct you to other nearby parking areas. For those leaving the island, you can register at the front desk in advance to enjoy free parking. 2. **Hotel:** The hotel is massive in scale. The majestic lion sculptures and fountain outside the main entrance are grand, especially at night with the interwoven lighting, it feels like entering another world. It boasts the most single-unit guest rooms in Asia, composed of four interconnected Y-shaped European castles, each with a unique natural theme: forest, ocean, castle, and glacier. Our room was in the Glacier Castle, with corridors and rooms featuring a blue and white palette and abundant glacier and animal elements. The ground floors of the four castles connect to form the hotel lobby and check-in area. The space is vast, with a cathedral-like glass dome ceiling. In the center below, there was a festive New Year display, a vibrant and joyful scene. On one side of the lobby, two grand, symmetrical spiral staircases descend from the second floor, one white and one red, both adorned with flowers, creating a noble and elegant photo spot. The lobby has four exits, each leading to a different castle. After checking in at the front desk, you choose your path based on your room. Each castle has over ten elevators. The entire process left me with one impression: grandness! 3. **Room:** Both the main room and the bathroom were very spacious. It had one large bed and one smaller bed; the small bed, shaped like a train engine, was a nice touch, and the bedding was comfortable. The room's decor and configuration were quite simple and standard, but the glacier theme, with polar bear and penguin elements everywhere, added a refreshing touch. The shower was good, and it was quite rare that the shower enclosure hardly leaked. The window faced the sea, but there was a garden green belt between the castles, so the sea was distant and not a spectacular, unobstructed view. However, we were lucky enough to catch the sunset on our check-in day. The afterglow of the sunset painted the sea, fishing boats, bridge, and villa complex in our view a beautiful reddish hue. This combination and visual experience were stunning and definitely a plus. 4. **Breakfast:** The breakfast restaurant had palace-like high ceilings and space, arranged in a long strip, which made the food retrieval path a bit inefficient. The dishes were abundant and diverse, with local specialties. During our two-day stay, we sampled Hainan Yi noodles, Hou'an noodles, coffee cake, coconut cake, pumpkin cake, and other local delicacies. My elder child loved the Hou'an noodles so much she had two bowls every morning. The dessert selection was also very rich. 5. **Other Facilities and Offers:** During our two-day stay, we experienced the following: On the first evening, we attended a music festival and firework show at the Guanhai Park, with discounted tickets for hotel guests. There's a free bus shuttle near the hotel entrance that goes to places like the Ocean Park and the Fitness Center. We took this shuttle on the second day to swim at the Fitness Center. The hotel's own pool was unavailable, but we could use the Fitness Center's pool for free. It's a standard 50-meter lap pool, and it was my first time experiencing such a pool. There's also a mini-train station on the island not far from the hotel entrance, but we didn't use it. 6. **Service:** All the staff we encountered were very responsible and professional, indicating a high level of overall training. In summary, it was a truly perfect stay, making it a top choice for accommodation when visiting Ocean Flower Island. Besides meeting basic needs for food, entertainment, and lodging, it also offered a sense of grandeur that is quite rare.

This is probably the most expensive hotel I've ever stayed in, nearly 3000 RMB for one night. However, the hotel's service, especially the quality of the staff, is truly outstanding and provided genuine VIP emotional value. I'd like to thank all the hotel staff again; I'll definitely be back. All I can say is, apart from the price, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Book with confidence, it's flawless. Breakfast at the Western restaurant was also excellent. Dinner at the Thai restaurant was superb as well. In a word, it's worth it. View: Amazing. Facilities: Though they feel a bit dated, they are actually quite good. Cleanliness: Excellent. Environment: Perfect score. Service: This is the best service I've ever experienced in any hotel.

After our trip to Shimei Bay, we arrived at the hotel with my entire family, including young children and elderly parents, along with several large suitcases. We were understandably quite tired from the journey. Upon arrival, it was clear that the hotel had a significant shortage of staff both inside and outside the lobby – a stark contrast to Shimei Bay, where service personnel were readily available everywhere. Although there weren't many guests checking in at the time, and the scene wasn't particularly busy, given our large group and numerous bags, I had to proactively request a luggage cart to make things easier. For a resort hotel that prides itself on the guest experience, the initial service response would be much better if it were more proactive and if staffing levels were more adequate. Regarding the room, the promotional pictures I saw when booking showed a sea-facing view with a visible beach. However, the actual view from our room was quite different from what we expected. While we could see the sea in the distance, our primary view was of the hotel's pool area, and the beach wasn't visible at all. The visual impression didn't match the promotional images. During the Chinese New Year period, the hotel organized various activities, some free and some with a charge, which is understandable. However, it was quite surprising to find that even digging for sand crabs on the public beach area required an additional fee. Compared to the hotel we stayed at previously in Shimei Bay, the activity planning here was indeed a bit lackluster. On the bright side, the breakfast was excellent. There was a rich variety of options, especially the Pandan Tofu Pudding, Pandan Pancakes, and various Hainan noodles. These were not only distinctive but also delicious, adding a wonderful culinary delight to our mornings. What truly impressed us was the mature food scene around the hotel. From Coconut Chicken, Wenchang Chicken, Ding'an Jumping Beef (which can be hotpot or BBQ), Baoluo Noodles, Hainan Noodles, to all sorts of desserts and snacks – the choices were incredibly diverse. This added a lot of local flavor and memorable gastronomic experiences to our trip. The hotel's beach area itself was quite good. The sea breeze, sand quality, and the overall experience were very relaxing and comfortable.

Returned for another stay, and the experience was still great. Although it's an older hotel, the facilities are well-maintained. Last time I stayed in the Ocean View Suite, which was fantastic. This time I chose the main building's full sea view room, and it offered excellent value for money. Of course, older hotels in Sanya Bay mean a superb location with beautiful sea views and a perfect spot for sunset. Our butler, Vivi, was also very thoughtful. For family trips, I highly recommend the Ocean View Suite, and for couples, the Executive Full Sea View in the main building is also a good choice.

The butler, Hanghang, deserves full marks for excellent service. They promptly addressed any issues, and their service really added to our hotel experience. However, the room I stayed in had a damp, musty smell upon entering. The double bed room allowed for the door and windows to be opened for ventilation, which helped air it out. But the children's twin room had a sealed balcony glass door, preventing any ventilation, so the smell was quite strong in there.

I stayed at the Sheraton Haikou during the off-season this time. There were very few people, and whenever the sun was out, the hotel's public areas looked beautiful no matter where you took a photo. The breakfast was of a standard quality; I overslept on the second day and missed it. The butler service was very attentive. I casually asked if the hotel sold swimming caps, and a staff member immediately delivered one to my room. Since my flight was in the evening, I asked for a late check-out until 5 PM, and they readily agreed. This was probably because it was the off-season and rooms weren't in high demand. I got to relax at the hotel all afternoon before heading to the airport without any rush. For these three days, I barely left the hotel. I re-watched 'My Sunshine' countless times in my room, and when I got tired of that, the beach was just a five-minute walk away. Before 10 AM, there were hardly any people, and it felt like the entire ocean belonged to me. In the evening at 7 PM, there was a HH performance by the pool, which you could catch while having dinner, swimming, or soaking in the hot springs. Overall, the experience was quiet and comfortable. I'm planning to bring my mom next time; it's very suitable for seniors and children.

This hotel has both noticeable pros and cons. A big thank you to Nikki for upgrading me to a family room and including the Horizon breakfast. **Cons:** The service doesn't quite meet five-star standards. The front desk staff didn't proactively introduce the hotel's restaurants or facilities during check-in. I also had to track someone down to get my luggage sent to the room. While there were people at the concierge desk, I had to wait a long time for them to arrange things, which wasn't a great start to the experience. The so-called 'kids' activities' were also quite average and, frankly, a bit boring. The food at the beach dinner was just okay, though the ambiance was nice. **Pros:** The cleanliness was excellent. My child accidentally scraped their skin and got some blood on the sheets, and the staff immediately replaced them with a brand new set. Overall, the hotel facilities are a bit dated, but there are a lot of younger guests, and if the price is right, it's generally an acceptable option.

The day before check-in, I received a message from our butler, Mile, confirming our arrival time and providing information about hotel services and activities. We were on a motorcycle trip around Hainan, and the butler even arranged for staff to take our luggage to our room, which was incredibly thoughtful. The hotel lobby is beautiful and very photogenic! The pillows and bed in the hotel were so comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent. We stayed for four nights and slept wonderfully every night. The breakfast selection was extensive and delicious! It truly exceeded our expectations and was fantastic value for money.

Our stay at the Sanya Tiancheng Central Coast Seaview Hotel was an absolutely perfect experience, far exceeding our expectations! From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were captivated by the warm and attentive service and the unbeatable sea views. First and foremost, I have to praise the hotel's location – it's incredibly convenient! Situated in the intersection bay area of Sanya Bay, you can walk to the beach in just a few minutes. In the evening, strolling along the Coconut Dream Corridor, watching the sunset slowly dip into the horizon, that tranquility and beauty instantly made us forget all our worries. The hotel is also close to the city center, with a wide array of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. In the evening, we could even head to the First Market Night Market to sample authentic Hainan snacks – there was absolutely no need to worry about food, drink, or entertainment. And the room's view? Simply spectacular. Our room boasted a 270° panoramic sea view, with huge floor-to-ceiling windows and a viewing balcony that offered breathtaking vistas of the azure sea and sky. We could see the iconic Phoenix Island landmark right from our bed, and even enjoy the light show at night, which truly elevated the ambiance. The room itself was spacious and bright, with a thoughtful layout and soft, comfortable bedding. The circular bathtub on the balcony was a particular highlight – soaking in the tub while admiring the sea view was an utterly luxurious experience. The hotel's service was another major highlight of this experience, and I must particularly commend our butler, Wendy, and the lady who assisted us with check-in. The personalized butler service was incredibly thoughtful! Throughout our stay, any questions we had were answered promptly. Whether it was asking for travel advice or booking a restaurant, our butler handled everything perfectly, making us feel completely at ease and stress-free. I honestly feel that the service at this hotel surpasses that of Hyatt and Shangri-La. While it may not be considered a 'luxury' hotel, some of its attention to detail is even better than what you'd find in luxury establishments. Furthermore, the hotel's facilities are also very comprehensive. Overall, this stay was absolutely perfect. Whether you're traveling with family or as a couple, this is an excellent choice. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Sanya! I've seen many seas and stayed in many seaview hotels, but this one is truly the best. The hotel is located in the Old Town, which makes shopping and dining very convenient. The room was spacious enough, but the window was too small, making it feel a bit cramped. The shower had great water pressure and a consistent temperature, and the drain worked perfectly. The complimentary tickets and discount coupons mentioned in the hotel's promotions were never offered by the front desk, so I couldn't use any of them. On the first night, a neighbor knocked on my door to give me a fruit platter, saying the staff had left it with her because I wasn't in my room. This is the first time I've encountered such a situation, and I didn't dare eat something that had been left with a stranger. The elevator reeked of smoke, and cigarette butts were scattered everywhere.

GGuest UserThe hallway on the 4th floor had a musty smell, but the room itself was fine. The Club Lounge food was excellent! My little one, Minbao, loved it so much she ate there two days in a row. They had a great variety, including plain pork sausages, ribs, rice, and roasted chicken, which was perfect for young children, and adults enjoyed it too. On the first day, it was very crowded, so we couldn't get a baby cot. However, on the second day, they upgraded our room and provided a cot. Just a heads-up: the Club Lounge package we booked was for a garden view. To get a sea view, you need to specifically book a Club Lounge Sea View room (the photo shows the view after our upgrade). Also, the room amenities list for the Club Lounge mentioned 6 complimentary laundry services, but this benefit has expired. Laundry now costs extra, though the price was reasonable – around 100+ for a pair of pants and a set of pajamas.

YYingwusuowangershengqixinFacilities: The facilities are a bit old, and some of the sofas in the public service areas are broken. Hygiene: The hygiene is pretty good; the cleaning staff are very diligent. Environment: The surrounding area is very convenient, and getting a taxi is easy. It's also very quiet at night. Service: The service was good overall. The complimentary cocktails at the hotel bar were delicious, and the afternoon tea snacks were decent. However, the service at the tea lounge was very poor. They asked for payment as soon as we ordered tea, and then charged a 15% service fee for a pot of tea before we even had the first cup, because the waitstaff had other arrangements. After discussing the issue with the tea lounge manager, they recognized their problems and committed to improving their workflow and attitude. They offered a solution by waiving the tea and service fees and promised to definitely improve. It's great to see them acknowledge their mistakes and commit to fixing them! The construction of Hainan's International Free Trade Port starts with service. Extended stay benefit: Check-out extended to 2 PM based on availability: The hotel front desk was excellent, extending our check-out to 3 PM, which made our Hainan research trip much more relaxed and enjoyable. Extended stay benefit: Double Cloud Drive Afternoon Tea | Hilton Haikou's 35th-floor Sky Lounge: The tea snacks were plentiful. GGuest UserJW Marriott Sanya Dadonghai Bay | A Heartfelt, Must-Write Review This review is late, but it absolutely needs to be written. March 1st was the most chaotic, exhausting, yet ultimately the most heartwarming and healing day I've ever experienced in Sanya. A minor dissatisfaction arose during check-in the day before, which the hotel promptly and proactively addressed. It was a standard resolution, but what followed truly made me remember the warmth of this hotel. That evening, a family emergency led to my family member being rushed to the hospital by ambulance. I had been out all day, and my child hadn't eaten lunch or dinner. I dragged myself back to the hotel late at night, utterly exhausted both physically and mentally. The first thing I did on the way was contact the customer manager, Chris, asking him to arrange Hainanese chicken rice for me in advance, thoughtfully preparing room service for my child. Upon returning to the room, my weary heart was first soothed by a warm meal. We stayed in a sea-view room with a breathtaking view, yet we felt no excitement. My family member was still in the hospital, and I was busy until past 1 AM before finally getting some sleep. The coconut sent by the hotel was sweet and comforting. In that moment, no matter how beautiful the sea view, it couldn't compare to human kindness. What truly broke me and brought tears to my eyes instantly was the next morning. As I was leaving for breakfast, I met the cleaning lady on the 12th floor. I briefly explained the sudden family emergency and the many inconveniences at the hospital, only hoping she could help me prepare some disposable toiletries later. Throughout our conversation, the cleaning lady was incredibly warm and genuine, without a hint of perfunctoriness. She proactively helped me pack my clothes, carefully reminded me if I had left anything in the room to avoid me having to go back and forth, and even called the front desk to arrange for a luggage cart – I had originally planned to carry eight pieces of luggage downstairs myself with my child. This thoughtfulness was completely unexpected. Many hotels nowadays offer service with the explicit goal of getting a good review. However, this lady had no ulterior motives, she was calm, unhurried, empathetic to the guest's needs, and always thinking ahead for the guest. Her words and actions were incredibly considerate, like family. In my most helpless and chaotic moment, she didn't provide a standardized service; she offered genuine kindness and assistance. My heart was deeply touched at that moment. It's a pity that I didn't catch her name in my haste. I only managed to take her photo so I could remember her. I sincerely request that the hotel commend this excellent employee. She is a true gem of the hotel. Despite the unexpected events and regrets of this trip, the JW Marriott Dadonghai Bay, with its simplest and most sincere service, preserved all my tender feelings for Sanya. A good hotel isn't just about its hardware; it's about the human touch. Thank you for being my most steadfast support during my most difficult time.

GGuest UserWe visit Haitang Bay once or twice a year. As a huge Marriott fan, Sheraton was the only one left on my list. I booked a pool access room, and after reading many reviews about various issues, I honestly didn't have high expectations before checking in. However, the overall experience far exceeded our expectations. Even before arrival, we received calls and messages from our butler, Xigua, who proactively reminded us to book a photoshoot. When our room wasn't ready, she enthusiastically offered complimentary drink vouchers, though we were already at the duty-free shop by then, haha. The front desk service was decent; when we specifically requested room 1032, they tried their best to accommodate us and arranged a nearby room that was even better than 1032! Many reviews mentioned slow room cleaning, but even with the hotel almost fully booked, we only waited about an hour and were able to check into our room by around 2 PM. We had some psychological preparation for potential dampness in a pool access room, but as northerners, we didn't feel any noticeable humidity once inside. The room was spacious, the bedding very comfortable, and the air conditioning was sufficiently cool. The cleaning staff did an excellent job. We genuinely didn't encounter any of the issues mentioned in previous reviews. All the staff we met at the hotel greeted us warmly, and our butler Xigua was very responsive, giving the place a lively and welcoming feel. Regarding breakfast, it's true that it seemed a bit simpler compared to other hotels, but the Hou'an noodles were absolutely delicious, and the jellyfish with aged vinegar was also tasty – a very homey flavor. After a two-night stay, we were extremely satisfied with both the pool and the room. The service attitude was impeccable; the bellhops were proactive in helping, the cleaning staff greeted us warmly, and any issues were promptly resolved. I understand that as an older hotel, there might be some maintenance challenges in certain areas. However, it's precisely these older hotels that possess a certain 'old money' charm, feeling like they've witnessed many stories. The small details throughout the hotel reveal that this Sheraton truly had a glorious past, retaining an aesthetic from an era of economic prosperity. I hope it continues to improve. Next time I come for a weekend, Sheraton might genuinely be my first choice. I hope I won't be disappointed again!

GGuest UserFor our last two nights in Sanya with the kids, we chose Atlantis in Haitang Bay. The facilities and environment are definitely a step above the hotels in Yalong Bay, and the service is excellent. The hotel has its own aquarium and water park, which aren't particularly special, but they're convenient to access right from the hotel. The water park can get quite sunny, but it's fine for kids, though the bigger rides require a height of 1.22m. Personally, I found the hotel's indoor heated family pool more enjoyable than the water park! 😂 The ocean view in Haitang Bay is stunning, but the sea can be a bit rough, so it's not ideal for playing on the beach. Overall, the hotel is really good. For Haitang Bay, it's definitely the top choice when traveling with children!

GGuest UserThe Grand Hyatt Haitang Bay was our second stop in Sanya. [Public Areas] Unlike the Park Hyatt's museum-like design, the Grand Hyatt has a very Suzhou-style garden feel. Walking from the main building to the beach felt like going from Suzhou to Sanya, with extensive green spaces. The pool is located near a tiered area, and the outdoor section is quite shallow, perfect for just lounging in the water. [Room and Service] The Grand Hyatt's service truly felt proactive. Our butler, Curry, added us on WeChat in advance and, upon learning about our group's composition, immediately upgraded us to a Grand Seaview Connecting Suite. This consisted of two rooms directly opposite each other – one suite and one standard room combined. It was incredibly convenient for a family trip. Our butler responded quickly to any issues we had throughout our stay, and checked in on our status and needs from check-in to check-out. When housekeeping was replacing our water, they saw we had a large group and directly left a whole box, which was very thoughtful. However, the downside is that the rooms are indeed quite old and show signs of age. Even when clean, the bathtub was a bit underwhelming, but with everyone using tub liners now, it's not a major concern. [Family-friendly] There were plenty of activities. Our baby loved all the craft classes and the pool foam party every evening, not wanting to miss a single one. They had a great time. If you're traveling with kids, their schedule will be packed with activities from start to finish. Both this hotel and the Park Hyatt use the same activity provider. [Dining] During peak dining hours, you might have to wait for a table at the restaurant, and window seats are highly sought after. The breakfast selection is rich and varied, with timely refills. It's a good, solid breakfast with plenty of delicious options. I indulged in many iced Americanos every morning. An endless supply of self-serve iced Americanos is what I truly crave daily! Our second stop at the Grand Hyatt was also very satisfying!

LLost_in_the_JungleLet me first say, hotels are always looking for a good review, but I will only give a good review if I honestly feel they deserve it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Qixian~ the resort grounds are absolutely stunning. My husband and I were so pleasantly surprised to discover that the resort has been thoughtfully designed to feel part of the rainforest. Everywhere you look there are giant boulders, gurgling clear streams, ancient trees and hidden trails that make you feel you are walking deep in a forest. All you hear are the birds and the water rushing in the streams! We have travelled all over China, and this is the quietest, most authentic feeling nature spot we have ever experienced. In addition, there are so many hot springs you can choose to relax in, or you can use the hot spring attached to your balcony! The restaurant has a good variety and we liked everything we ordered, it was fresh and flavorful, we tried the pork ribs and braised tofu, both delicious, but the green coconut filled buns were a perfect ending! The lobby staff was friendly and helpful, and gave us all kinds of upgrades! You can get pickup on the carts anytime, but we preferred to walk and enjoy the beauty, the resort grounds feel huge, but honestly its well designed so you can reach any spot in 5-10 minutes. Also, they have all kinds of activities you can join. We really enjoyed the rainforest walk, the lady from the Li family that conducted the walk was so lovely, we could tell she really had a connection to the forest and just radiated joy as she showed us all the plants, it was one of the highlights of our stay! Our room was clean, the sheets were soft and the bed was comfortable. The view onto the palm forest was so relaxing to look at as we soaked in the spring. The infinity pool was spectacular, the setting is gorgeous and peaceful. The coconuts and dessert we ordered were really good, however, the drinks we ordered were awful and maybe they can get some more outgoing staff to work at the pool bar, maybe because it was winter time and less people are at the pool? Breakfast is served in a building that overlooks the river, there is ALL kinds of food, if you are a Westerner you can find fried eggs, toast, and pastries. But I recommend going to the area where fresh rice noodle is made for you on the spot, add toppings and fried eggs, it was delicious! There are some rustic areas to the resort- it feels a bit abandoned in areas, like its just too big to keep up with ie. Giant empty pools, some of the buildings look in desperate need of refurbishing, but overall we felt like the resort was truly beautiful and amenities really made this a great value for the price we paid. We are already planning to come back when we need a break from the city!

GGuest UserThis is my fifth time in Sanya, and I chose this hotel again. After a busy year, the best way to relax is to pick a good hotel and just chill. I highly recommend Howard Johnson Resort Sanya Bay! I stayed for five days and was, as always, completely satisfied. The breakfast is super rich, offering Hainan specialties like Qingbuliang, coconut chicken, bamboo rice, pandan cake, and also everyday staples like rice noodles. Every morning, I'd start my day with a bowl of rice noodles topped with minced meat, warming my stomach and setting the tone for a happy day! The hotel has two great pools, both indoor and outdoor, plus a large, well-maintained lawn where you can just bring a mat and sunbathe – it's so relaxing! You can walk through the hotel's underground passage directly to Coconut Dream Corridor. I loved going there every day to watch the sunset and the evening glow; it's truly therapeutic! Staying at this hotel means you don't even need to go out to explore; you can just relax and enjoy the hotel. Highly recommend!

GGuest UserOur stay at the Sanya Tiancheng Central Coast Seaview Hotel was an absolutely perfect experience, far exceeding our expectations! (Attaching a photo of my plane ticket, so you know I'm not a shill!)
