The reception was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was surprisingly good and with variety. Room was not big but sufficient. Very worth for the price
We stayed two nights in the hotel with breakfast and dinner. The web page of Trip.com showed that there was onsen in the hotel but when we check in, we were told that it was a ”mistake”. There is no onsen and the photo is a public onsen half an hours away. It was very disappoining that the Trip.com include photos irrelevant to the hotel. Dinner was also diffferent from the web photo. We have to pay 2500 yen each to upgrade the dinner to shsbu shabu. Breakfast is Japanese style with limited choice. Other than these, we had lake view room and shopping mall is nearby which are the advantages.
I really like this house~ The design and decoration of the house is very Japanese and fashionable. There are many things. It may look messy, but those who choose to live here should not care too much about it. After all, it’s here. For these messy hand-made decorations~! In the room and in the small cafe below, most of them are made by One Piece. The workmanship is exquisite and the styles are many. When the decoration is suitable. On the first night of staying, I didn’t go out to play. It took a long time to take pictures in the house to see the figures. Ahaha~ quite satisfied~!
I recently stayed at AB Hotel Hikone and had an exceptional experience. The location deserves a solid 5 stars—it's conveniently situated at 5-9 Daitocho, Hikone, Shiga, offering easy access to key attractions. The cleanliness of the hotel is commendable, earning another 5-star rating. The staff was friendly and accommodating, though a slightly higher rating for friendliness would enhance the overall experience. The value for money is excellent, with top-notch facilities that deserve a full 5 stars. The breakfast exceeded expectations, earning a perfect score. Overall, AB Hotel Hikone provides a fantastic stay with its prime location, cleanliness, value for money, and outstanding facilities. I highly recommend it to fellow travelers seeking a delightful and comfortable accommodation experience in Hikone, Japan.
The room is large, close to the station, and there are places to eat around.
The front desk staff speaks fluent English and there is no problem communicating. The room is quite spacious.
The hotel has bicycles for rent. Cycling is the most convenient way to visit Omi Hachiman, and it is recommended to try. The hotel is very convenient to Hachiman Shrine and Baumkuchen Factory. On a sunny day, it is also very pleasant to go to Azuchi Castle through the fields and villages.
Stayed for 4 nights, did not drive around Lake Biwa, the transportation is very convenient, JR station express train stops, there are supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants nearby, basic needs are all there, CP value is high, you can choose to have a leisurely breakfast facing the scenery outside the window one day! The staff has a good service attitude and is willing to help! The air conditioner in the room was originally very noisy, but later it was adjusted to be lower than the room temperature to avoid constant braking!
This isn’t our first stay at a Vessel Inn, and it likely won’t be the last. They’ve become a safe, reliable choice for us whenever we travel around Japan.
The room at Vessel Inn Shiga Moriyama was exactly what we expected—clean, well-maintained, and equipped with the standard amenities and toiletries we’ve come to appreciate. We didn’t get a chance to use the hotel facilities this time, so can’t comment on those.
Our main concern is always the cleanliness of the bed and overall comfort, and we’re glad to say it passed with flying colors. No funky surprises, just a peaceful night’s rest.
One thing that stood out: the room size felt more spacious than what we’re used to in places like Osaka. Definitely a plus when you’ve got luggage or just want to breathe a little easier.
All in all, a solid stay that gave us what we needed—nothing fancy, but exactly right.
This accommodation, Water House built by the famous architect William Merrell Vories is a house full of history; located in a very interesting neighbourhood steeped. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and wish we had more than one night!
We highly recommend this accommodation for its history, its convenient location and a chance to stay in a culturally significant property such as The Waterhouse by Vories.
We were traveling independently, and the single room was much bigger than the one we had in a tour group before, and the environment was also very good. The highlights of this hotel: it is close to Otsu Tram Station, and there are only two stops to Kyoto by taking the new rapid line: Yamashina Station and Kyoto Station. It is more convenient to travel north to Lake Biwa. It takes less than half an hour to walk to Otsu Cruise Port, and a taxi costs about 1,000 yen. Go to Japan's national treasure town: Hikone; take the Hiei Mountain Line Cable Car (Sakamoto Station) to overlook Lake Biwa; soak in the 1,200-year-old hot springs, etc., and use the tram to transfer conveniently. If you want to see one of the three most scenic views in Japan: Amanohashidate, you can also take the JR New Rapid Line at Otsu Station and transfer to Amanohashidate Tram Station. Although this hotel is close to the tram station, it has good sound insulation and there are few trams after 10 p.m., which hardly affects sleep. We stayed here for 5 nights, visited Gion in Kyoto for one day, Lake Biwa for two days, and Mount Hiei and hot springs for one day, but it still felt like not enough time.

GGuest UserEvery time I go to Hikone, I will definitely choose this hotel. Facing Hikone Castle and Hikone Moat, the environment is elegant. The old street nearby is filled with a strong Edo atmosphere, I like it very much!

MMegawati rusli zhangBeautiful hotel but its far from anywhere, rooms its very big and difficult to find the address luckily we rent the car and used GPS to find location.

ととんI stayed with a friend for a promise to eat and drink in front of the station. I think the cospa was very good just for the hot springs and breakfast. The parking lot is large and free, there are plenty of rental items, you can bring as much milky lotion as you need, the vending machine in the building was cheap, there is a supermarket 2 minutes walk away, and you can buy what you need cheaper than a convenience store. Anyway, it was good.
I forgot, so I wish I had cleaning, and I thought it would be helpful when I was on a business trip if I had a hair iron loan.

BBookersHotel location is general, although not very convenient, but the natural scenery nearby is pleasant, suitable for guests seeking relaxation. The environment is very clean, the room and facilities are well maintained, making me feel comfortable and assured.
Excellent service, friendly and helpful staff made me feel at home during my stay. Amenities are perfect, bath design is great, let people fully relax and enjoy the hot springs.
AAnonymous UserI stayed here again this year, just like last year. While the room was a little dated, it was kept clean and not unpleasant. (Although there was a slight odor...)
The bath was spacious and there was a washing area, so I was able to take my time soaking.
The refrigerator was stocked with tea (apparently local tea), mineral water, and one Ritz per night, which was a nice touch.
The breakfast was delicious, featuring local ingredients.
I would definitely stay here again if I had the opportunity.
