On short notice, I was looking for various accommodations, including business hotels. I chose this one as I only needed a room for the night. The price was very reasonable, and it was excellent.
I stayed overnight as I had work nearby first thing the next morning.
I've stayed here a few times, but this time I chose Fine Olive.
You can get a great view of Lake Biwa from the window.
It was pitch black at night, but...
It's beautiful and spacious, so I'd like to stay here again in the future.
What surprised us most about this hotel was the amazing breakfast! There was so much variety! It's very close to Hikone station. It seems that it even offers bicycles for (free) use. We thought of going for a short bike ride in the morning but didn't have enough time--needed to get to Kyoto (only an hour away) quickly. This hotel makes an overnight trip to see beautiful Hikone castle very feasible.
The room was clean, quiet, and well-equipped. The location is excellent, with a large shopping center nearby where most daily necessities and groceries can be purchased locally. Next time, I'd like to enjoy the complimentary coffee, which I didn't get to try this time.
This hotel is just next to Maibara. It is very convenient to go other parts of Lake Biwa. Its bed and pillows are comfortable. Just like other japan hotels, small challenges to open two 24” luggages. Breakfast is simple and nice. There are several types of rice balls to choose (love the fried chicken, egg, fried meat), miso soup, corn soup, healthy fruit juice, bread and coffee.
The room is spacious, clean and tidy. The breakfast is exquisite. The best is the ninth floor Omi beef teppanyaki. The meat is tender and the appetizer is paired with salmon dishes. The dessert strawberries are amazing.
I used it for Shigaraki sightseeing
The garage type and the room was beautiful
Above all, I enjoyed the subscription with a lot of subscriptions!
I was able to watch movies on Amazon Prime without advertising on YouTube Premium (;;)
The American atmosphere spread across the whole hotel with the help of design. It was quite classic. The room setting is a bit too liberal. The bathroom and toilet are in see-through form. The hotel, by the way, is conveniently located by the train station and the discounted parkings are right next to the hotel .
The twin room is larger than other hotels in Japan, and is very close to JR Kusatsu Station, within walking distance. There is a shopping mall nearby where you can go shopping. There are also many searches for restaurants in the surrounding area. Overall it’s pretty good.
Check-in is only possible at the designated time. You need to use the self-service check-in machine, which was slow due to lack of familiarity. It's convenient to walk to the station.

very warming services from the front desk staff to the waitress inside the hotel they took good care of my bike and then delivered an excellent service during the dinner. the old lady took initiative to introduce me each dish. very nice she was indeed. the location of the hotel is great. even i didnt get a room with nice view but i still could see the hikone castle from the drink lounge and osen. so amazing view. the last thing is the food! the dinner is so nice
I recently stayed at AB Hotel Hikone and had an exceptional experience. The location deserves a solid 5 stars—it's conveniently situated at 5-9 Daitocho, Hikone, Shiga, offering easy access to key attractions. The cleanliness of the hotel is commendable, earning another 5-star rating. The staff was friendly and accommodating, though a slightly higher rating for friendliness would enhance the overall experience. The value for money is excellent, with top-notch facilities that deserve a full 5 stars. The breakfast exceeded expectations, earning a perfect score. Overall, AB Hotel Hikone provides a fantastic stay with its prime location, cleanliness, value for money, and outstanding facilities. I highly recommend it to fellow travelers seeking a delightful and comfortable accommodation experience in Hikone, Japan.
This isn’t our first stay at a Vessel Inn, and it likely won’t be the last. They’ve become a safe, reliable choice for us whenever we travel around Japan. The room at Vessel Inn Shiga Moriyama was exactly what we expected—clean, well-maintained, and equipped with the standard amenities and toiletries we’ve come to appreciate. We didn’t get a chance to use the hotel facilities this time, so can’t comment on those. Our main concern is always the cleanliness of the bed and overall comfort, and we’re glad to say it passed with flying colors. No funky surprises, just a peaceful night’s rest. One thing that stood out: the room size felt more spacious than what we’re used to in places like Osaka. Definitely a plus when you’ve got luggage or just want to breathe a little easier. All in all, a solid stay that gave us what we needed—nothing fancy, but exactly right.
Environment: The room faces Lake Biwa, with a panoramic view of the lake and mountains. The room is clean. Staff: The service is enthusiastic and courteous. Suitable for travelers who don’t like to go to tourist attractions with many people.
The hotel in general is better than expectation. It has a long history but still maintain an elegance and utmost cleanliness. The view of the lake from the window of our room is perfect. We even watch sunrise in the morning.
So far is the best business hotel brand for me. However, i have been to other branches which have slightly more amenities. Nevertheless, i still enjoyed my stay because of the thoughtful service from all the staff. Clean rooms too.
Lake Biwa is right outside the hotel, which is very convenient. There are not many restaurants nearby. The beach by the lake is beautiful. The staff are very friendly. The room facilities are a bit old, but they are well maintained.
Really comfortable hotel with very good breakfast and free bicycle rent. Thete is a hair dryer and a cattle in the room. It is close to the station. Wonderful onsen is 10 min bicycle ride from it. The girls on the reception are very helpful. When I forgot my bag in onsen hall, they called there and saved the situation.
