Fourth time staying here, and this time I came during cherry blossom season. The price was great, and the hospitality was as warm as ever. I pretty much stay here every time I'm in Osaka. The only thing is there aren't many single rooms available, but the soundproofing is decent.

The Japanese here are comically disorganized. The hotel sign was only in Katakana, with no Kanji or English. Despite being someone who can usually communicate freely in both English and Japanese, I ended up circling the building three times, totally lost. I even asked a Vietnamese girl for directions, and she sent me the wrong way! Dragging my suitcase, completely drenched, it finally dawned on me: that Katakana was just a phonetic transliteration of an English name. That's how I eventually found it. Remember this: the hotel sign says 'アズーガデン ホテル'. Don't make the same mistake I did looking for a 'Garden Hotel' and crying in Osaka's Nipponbashi district. The room itself was decent, but it's right by the street, and the biker gangs were absolutely blasting noise all night. It was so loud!

This place is conveniently located near Shin-Imamiya Station, close to Nishinari's attractions. Compared to Toyoko Inn 1, the facilities here are all new and clean.
Pros:
1. Surprisingly good hairdryer for its small size, provided in the room.
2. Individual air conditioning in each room, allowing for separate heating and cooling control.
3. Liquid soap, and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the showers. The shared restrooms are clean.
4. Free umbrella rental at the front desk.
Cons:
1. Terrible soundproofing. I recommend bringing earplugs. Even when being careful, opening and closing the room door makes noise, meaning you're exposed to all the movements of others.
2. Awful TV internet. Just don't bother turning it on.
Overall: Whether you get a good night's sleep depends on the manners of your neighbors on the floor. In my case, regardless of nationality (including Koreans), everyone was cheerfully socializing with their companions in the hallway, so I just mentally let it go. Other than that, the cleanliness, location, and facilities were all satisfactory! A private room in Japan at this price is an absolute steal.

First hotel once touched down in Osaka. It was great as they allow early check in which is so so grateful and thankful for after a long flight due to long layover time. The staff is friendly and nice. But there’s one disturbing thing is every morning around 7/8/9 am, there will be door banging constantly and I assumed it’s the cleaning process which need to open some kind of room constantly. It was quite disturbing as it awakes me almost everyday. There’s the only downside. Other than that, location is great with walking distance to Tsutentaku and near to Zoo and Museum. It’s quite comfortable and will be perfect without the banging noise. Might hesitant to book again due to the noise as a light sleeper. Hope it can be improved in future. Overall, great stay and it’s near to a great luggage storage shop which named Daikoku Locker. Extremely cheap and easy to store,

There are 3 people in our group, and the hotel has rooms with 3 separate beds available. The facilities and cleanliness are good, and it’s close to the train station and convenience stores. The only issue is that there is only one women’s restroom, so you may have to wait during peak hours.

The location is good. It just 3mins walk from the nearest train station (Exit 6) but without lift access. There are some convenience stores nearby, very convenient!!!
There are some restaurants very close to the hotel as well. The location is super good, so you can walk to Shinsaibashi (about 15mins).
Indoor slippers is 100yen/per pair. Free toothbrush and 1 free towel only. I stayed in dormitory room at Level 6.
The shower room & toilet are together and strictly for female.
The lift access requires your room card to tap to the specific floor. And there’s a locker right beside the bed!
I like the ventilation for every bed. You can fully close the curtain without worrying about the ventilation problem.

Right next to Shin-Imamiya subway station, so getting around is incredibly convenient. The front desk staff rotate, with two people on duty at a time, including locals, Chinese, Koreans, and Indians. There's a women's shower on the 4th floor, men's showers on the 6th, and a men's bathhouse and microwave on the 10th. Downstairs, there are convenience stores, pharmacies, and places to eat nearby. The room was super small, but quite clean, and they provided towels and plastic slippers. Because it's close to the train tracks, there's a bit of noise. Plus, there's some noise from motorbikes speeding by. I stayed for 3 days, and there was hardly any noise from other guests.

Room: nice little space for the price. my room got two futons so I'm assuming up to two people can fit but I'll be honest it would be a tight fit and you would have next to no floor space if you had both futons laid out - even just having the second futon folded up in the corner reduced the space I had. Bathroom: decent showers. shampoo and body wash but no conditioner. hair dryer a bit weak for long hair but does the job. Security: lock on room door and passcode to get in to the hotel past midnight . Amenities: towels, breakfast tokens, toothbrush and toothpaste, souvenir voucher . Location: right next to shin imamiya station. Other: I've stayed at both hotel sunplaza and hotel sunplaza 2 and would say I slightly preferred sunplaza 2.

This was my first time staying in a capsule hotel, and overall, this one was great. Even with my mild潔癖 (germaphobia) and light sleep, I found it perfectly acceptable. The hotel hosts guests from all over the world, and during my stay, everyone on my floor was quiet and considerate. The hotel provides a full set of toiletries, including facial cleanser, toner, and lotion, as well as hair dryers and curling irons. The front desk was incredibly accommodating to all requests (if you don't speak Japanese and struggle with English, using AI translation apps like Doubao is super convenient and accurate! 👍). However, they don't provide umbrellas on rainy days, so remember to bring your own.
One minor downside: I found a slipper left by a previous guest in the luggage storage area. While it didn't really affect my stay, I hope the hotel pays a bit more attention to cleaning.
The area nearby is very quiet, with a Family Mart and a few restaurants. Even coming back at 10 PM, the streets weren't crowded; mostly just commuters, and I didn't encounter any strange people.
P.S. If you're arriving via the **red Midosuji Line** and have a lot of luggage, it's really not advisable to use exit 23 due to the stairs! **Honmachi Station** has three lines, and walking through the station is a super long journey with many stairs, which can be a nightmare during rush hour! I recommend taking the elevator from the exit circled in the picture (the map doesn't specify the exact exit number, but essentially, after exiting the elevator, you'll be on the roadside, facing a TASAKI store) and then walking to the hotel. It's a bit of a distance to the hotel but entirely flat, and following navigation makes it easy. The other two lines are relatively better, so you can choose an elevator exit closer to the street level.

GGuest User✨ Acro Capsule Hotel (Japan) 🇯🇵
My first time staying in a capsule hotel, and honestly, I was more impressed than I expected!
📍 Location: Amazing! It’s very close to Dotonbori—just a few minutes’ walk to food, shopping, and nightlife. Also near train stations, so getting around is super convenient.
🛏 Capsule Room: I thought it would be very small, but it’s actually more spacious than expected. I could stretch out comfortably. There’s decent privacy with a curtain, plus a power outlet and personal light.
🧼 Cleanliness: Highly rated! The bathrooms and showers are very clean. Amenities are provided, including towels and a hair dryer.
👩💼 Staff: Friendly, helpful, and able to communicate in English, which makes everything much easier.
👍 Pros:
- Great value for money, perfect for budget travelers
- Excellent central location
- Secure system with lockers for your belongings
⚠️ Cons:
- If you get an upper capsule, climbing up and down can be a bit inconvenient (though it’s slightly cheaper than the lower one)
- Some noise is unavoidable since it’s a shared space
- It can feel a bit warm or stuffy at times
💬 Overall: Perfect for solo travelers or anyone who wants to try the capsule hotel experience in Japan. If you don’t mind limited personal space, it’s definitely worth it!

Eericachan888The location is quiet and close to two train stations, making it convenient for getting around. The staff are very responsible and respond quickly, even late at night. When we had a problem with the water heater in the early morning, they sent someone to fix it the next morning. The staff member in charge even spoke Chinese, which was very thoughtful and dedicated. There's a small balcony, which is great for drying clothes. If you like trains, you can also watch them pass by at the nearby station from the balcony.
Downsides: The location is a bit too secluded. In winter, it gets dark very early, and there are very few dim streetlights in the residential area. There are almost no pedestrians, so as a solo female traveler, I felt a bit scared and had to return to the guesthouse early. There are no restaurants downstairs; you have to walk to find them. The water heater was troublesome; it's a storage type, so you constantly have to check if the water level is low and manually boil water, otherwise, you won't have hot water for a shower (I discovered this when the temperature was around 1-2 degrees Celsius, but once the temperature rose, the water heater didn't take as long to heat up).

DDanielUKI ended my stay early for a couple of reasons. One; the mattress in my pod was too short and my feet hung off the and. I’m nearly 6 foot. Also, the guy in the pod next to me was snoring very, very loudly all night. Sue the manager kindly let me switch to another pod but I was still uncomfortable so she allowed me to check out early. Also, the place is very cramped and cluttered. Stuff everywhere. It just didn’t suit me. But Sue was unbelievably helpful, kind and understanding.
SSol Jr DiazPerfect location near Namba and Dotonbori. The accommodation was clean, well‑kept, and comfortable. Easy access to stations and endless dining options. Even with the busy surroundings, the room stayed quiet. Would definitely stay again.

GGuest UserI found the room to be quite clean, and the self-check-in process was very smooth. I have no issues with the host/establishment at all. It's also pretty close to the subway.
The only downside is that it can get a bit noisy when there are more people, especially around 11 or 12 at night when some guests are still tidying up or chatting (this is more of a guest issue). If you're looking for a really good night's sleep, I'd still recommend a hotel.
