The hotel was in a prime location, close to all the major attractions. Breakfast was nice, with a good variety of delicious options to choose from.
The staff at the Sangzor were fantastic. Great attitude. Helpful and always available. The bed was super comfy. I will always stay at this location when traveling to Samarkand.
This is a wonderful small boutique hotel located in a historical ditrict of samarkand (so called ”Russian Samarkand”). major sightseeings are not the next door.. but not far away...
Personnel is very helpful and attentive. Rooms are adequately sized and have almost all the necessary amenities. They serve a plentiful and tasty breakfast buffet(unfortunately, some hot dishes turned out to be cold... hope that was a one-off case).
in general - highly recommended hotel..

2min walk from Samarkand train station
Very good Eng. speaking staff
All staff were very friendly and informative
Room was absolutely gorgeous and clean
Shower facility was also great
I really really enjoyed to stay here
Location: excellent! It is in the same building complex as the Art Gallery Happy Bird, mentioned in Tripadvisor. Registan is about 300 m away, so after dinner I would walk there to see the illumination.
My room had 2 twin beds, was rather small but comfortable. Upon opening the windows, a cool breeze entered the room. Wi-fi was reliable and there was a water boiler for tea.
Breakfast was abundant and good. The cook, Dishoda, would make me an omelette every morning. In the same building there are restaurants and fast food/ice cream joints.
On my last day I took the train to Khiva, which departs at 11:46. The hotel allowed me to stay in the TV room, with wifi access, water and toilet facilities, for 10 hours after check out. I recommend Hotel Dyor.
Excellent place to start. Very helpful and intelligent owner with university degree on art history and great colleciton of Samarqand related books, etc. Close to al-Maturidi Mausoleum, about 10min walk to either Registan or Shah-i Zinda Complex.
It's really convenient to be able to walk to places like Registan Square. However, it's located down an alley and can be a bit difficult to find. There seems to be more than one way to write the address, so I was a bit worried about using a ride-hailing app. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and when I explained my discomfort in the room, they changed me. Breakfast was very delicious.
-★2 The shower drainage was very poor. There was only one outlet available, so I couldn't use the stand to charge my phone.
The staff was kind and kind. But when I tried to get hot water, red water smelled of iron came out. I couldn't take a shower because it was obvious that if I took a shower with that hot water, my body would smell more than before I took a shower.
Other than that, it is an inn without problems.

CCanton KennedyThe hostel is inside quiet alley of the old city, which needs like 10 min walk from any bus/tram stations but easy to locate nevertheless.
All rooms are facing the inner countryard so it’s quiet and peaceful. Room (and bed) is large and A/C is strong. Private bathroom is tiny but functioning with hot shower and hair dryer.
Breakfast is good and drinking water is available to refill.
Receptionist/manager/staff are all friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations and sightseeing suggestions.

YYusuf UsmanovVery spacious room with nice breakfast! The staff were super kind and understanding.
Located in a quiet street end, it does become quite dark during nighttime, but I didn’t feel threatened at all.
The keys are hard to master, though, so I advise people to pay attention to the instructions, I cannot count how many times I was helped by the staff…
Overall, this was a great stay near the Registan Square, and I would recommend this place to anyone seeking a good night’s sleep near Registan.

ZZarrinaWhat can be said about the place where you are met as a long-awaited guest and escorted as a native. Although young spouses had only a week of birth of a baby, both husband and wife immediately responded to any request. The location of the hotel is very convenient, a nearby public transport stop.
The only minus of Samarkanda is the lack of house numbering, so the taxi driver has been round us for a long time. For information: the hotel is near the Ascon store, and opposite the pizza, towards the road leading to the Shahi Zinda memorial complex.
I definitely put the hotel perfectly. Well, and Skmarkand is love for life!
