MMomosan1I just returned from an unforgettable stay at Amanek Beppu Yula Re and I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. From the moment we arrived, it felt like we had stepped into a perfect blend of modern luxury and traditional Japanese hospitality. This is hands-down one of the best hotels we’ve ever experienced for a romantic getaway.
The onsen is absolutely amazing. The natural hot springs are incredibly soothing, with beautiful bathing areas that offer both indoor and outdoor options and a great view from the window. I spent hours relaxing in the mineral-rich waters, feeling completely rejuvenated. Paired with the stunning infinity pool, which overlooks the city and mountains, it created some of the most breathtaking views we’ve ever enjoyed. Watching the night view from the pool and the hot tub was pure magic. There’s also a bar besides the pool
The location is unbeatable. Everything is walkable — restaurants, shops, attractions, and scenic spots are all right at your doorstep. We were also just a short stroll from the bus and train stations, making day trips effortless. No need for
complicated transfers, which made exploring Beppu feel seamless and stress-free.
The free welcome drinks were a lovely touch — beautifully presented and the perfect way to unwind after traveling. The common areas are super inviting and stylish, making them an ideal spot to hang out in the evenings. We loved curling up with a book or just chatting while taking in the ambiance. This hotel is genuinely romantic — perfect for couples looking for intimate dates, whether it’s a quiet evening by the pool, a stroll through the neighborhood, or simply enjoying each other’s company in such a serene setting.
The staff were attentive without being intrusive, the rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable, and every detail felt thoughtfully designed. Amanek Beppu Yula Re has raised the bar for what a memorable stay should be. If you’re visiting Beppu, especially for a romantic escape, do yourself a favor and book here. We’re already planning our return trip!
Highly, highly recommended — 5/5 stars, and worth every penny.
ああさひかりThe overall stay experience was excellent, and I would especially like to commend Li-Ying Wu (also known as Go Reiei) from Taiwan.
From the very beginning of the check-in process, she demonstrated a professional attitude by thoroughly explaining all the hotel's facilities and services. She always wore a warm and welcoming smile, which truly reflected her dedication to her work and her respect for the guests.
During my stay, my family had quite a few demanding and complicated requests, requiring frequent assistance from the staff. Throughout it all, Li-Ying patiently addressed every single question without showing any sign of impatience.
GGuest UserIt’s perfect for watching sunrise as our room was facing direct east. Unfortunately, it was cloudy and we couldn’t watch that. Location wise is perfect if looking for a getaway in tranquility, otherwise got to drive out for dining or convenience stores. Hotel staff is very polite and friendly. They also serve afternoon snack around 3pm. A very nice gesture especially for guests waiting for check in.
GGuest UserVery satisfied with our stay. Room is abit small as the room was constructed out of a container but they still managed to pack everything nicely into the room. Location may not be ideal for travellers relying on public transport but no issue if you’re driving as there are parking lots available for hotel guests in front of the hotel. Love the amenities provided (full range of Pola products and Refa hair dryer!) They even provide a Balmuda kettle. As hotel is located within a park, there is no security fencing. There is a main gate where hotel guests need to scan their card to enter hotel premise but public can easily walk over the slightly raised flower bed to enter the hotel premise even without the need to enter via the main gate. Such setup is only possible in Japan where security is not a major issue and known for being a safe country but we’ll be concerned if this is in another country. There is also no shelter from hotel rooms to the parking area so managing luggage during rainy days will be challenging. But overall we love our stay at this hotel.
JJennawwwwwBecause I have some restrictions on my diet, the hotel can help adjust it, and will take the initiative to ask, I feel very good. The hot spring in the room is great, but for the adjustment of the hot spring water temperature, please do not refer to the instructions in the room, because the water from the faucet can only be added cold water, if the hot spring is not hot enough, please call the counter directly, someone will help adjust.
The location of the hotel is a climb away from the lively neighborhood. A mountain pepper curry oolong noodles around the hotel are very delicious and highly recommended! There are also some specialty shops around, which are much more interesting than the lively sightseeing street. ~
If you like a quiet environment, it is highly recommended!
GGuest UserThe location is remote and the transportation is inconvenient. I called the hotel but they didn't answer the phone, so I had to take a taxi. There are not many taxis in Yufuin... It's about 160 yuan...
It's like a small house in the countryside, more suitable for older people to drive by themselves. The surrounding area is very desolate and not recommended for children.
There are about 7-8 households in the whole yard, with a total of 4 private baths, which need to be used with a sign. The outdoor pool is also outdoors, and it's very windy and cold in winter...
Dinner is OK...
TTommy Mh LauThe best backpacker guesthouse. Self check in with details explanation from front desk. Typical hostel style and facilities. Free sauna and location is good. Guesthouse are under Beppu Tower. Nice experience.
GGuest UserStaying at a hot spring ryokan in Yufuin with dinner and breakfast included is so convenient and hassle-free.
Jukaso Hotel in Yufuin was a great choice. The traditional Japanese garden setting creates a wonderful ambiance. The location is incredibly convenient, just a 5-minute walk directly from Yufuin Station, so even with luggage, it's no trouble at all.
I booked a tatami Japanese-style room. It was spacious and clean with excellent natural light. Opening the window revealed mountain views and the greenery of the garden, making it very peaceful and restorative. The amenities were complete, and the double sinks in the bathroom were a thoughtful touch.
The hot springs include both indoor and open-air baths. The water quality was pleasant and clean, and it was quiet with few people in the evening. Soaking in the onsen completely relaxed me.
QQingjiaowoxiaojiejieyaThis hotel is a bit far from JR Oita Station, and it can be tiring to walk back and forth if you're using it as a transfer point between Beppu and Yufuin.
It's an older hotel that's been renovated, but the furniture is still old, and the bedding comfort is just average; the duvet was too thick. The room size is quite large for Japan. We specifically booked a room with a sofa bed for our child, but it was small and hard, and our child refused to sleep on it after an hour.
There's a large 24-hour supermarket near the hotel with good prices, which is convenient for buying daily necessities. Across the street is a school, and the Nikko Hotel is not far next door. Oita Art Museum and the pedestrian street are within walking distance.
SShupangxiedexiaowuguiAfter reading other reviews, they were all overwhelmingly positive.
Having stayed in numerous hotels, the ANA InterContinental Beppu definitely ranks in my top three.
First, let's talk about transportation:
Beppu Station is quite small. Remember to exit from the West Exit (this was told to us by the hotel shuttle driver; apparently, many international guests wait for a long time at the East Exit only to find out it's the West Exit). The hotel is about a twenty-minute drive away.
Next, the service:
What was really surprising is that more than half of the hotel staff are non-Japanese. Every single foreign staff member spoke excellent Japanese, with perfect mastery of honorifics.
Finally, the room facilities:
The onsen (hot spring bath) is small but beautiful. The infinity pool isn't very deep, making it suitable for children. It was still a bit chilly in March, but luckily, there's a warm pool nearby where you can soak for a while.
The restaurant offers great value for money. Children aged 6-12 get half price, which is around 2,700 yen. In the evening, there's an all-you-can-drink option for adults at 5,000 yen, including sparkling wine, house wine, shochu, and beer.
