Beach Hotels in Fujian, China

This is a duplicate of my review for dates from 6 to 8 June 2026, as I extended my stay for one night. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would happily stay here again. The location is excellent. It's right next to the metro, directly across the road from China City Mall, and within easy walking distance of Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, the waterfront and the ferry wharf. It made exploring Xiamen incredibly easy. The staff were consistently helpful and efficient. They obtained information about the Xiamen-Kinmen ferry, which was greatly appreciated. The breakfast restaurant staff deserve special mention as they were always friendly, welcoming and genuinely seemed pleased to see their guests each morning. The room itself was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was excellent and while I didn't use the bath, the shower was very good. The hotel also has a nice swimming pool, gym and lounge area, all of which added to the overall experience. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choices, both Asian and Western, and a pleasant atmosphere. I only intended to stay a short time, but enjoyed both the hotel and Xiamen enough that I extended my stay by an extra night. From my room I had good views, including Zheng Chenggong's statue on Gulangyu Island and Xiamen's Twin Towers in the distance. This hotel certainly helped make my stay in Xiamen an enjoyable one. I left with very positive memories and would gladly stay here again.

Sea View: 100 points! The panoramic view of Gulangyu, Yanwu Bridge, and the illuminated Twin Towers all add to its charm. It's beautiful both day and night. Service: A butler contacted us in advance to inquire about our needs and arrange the room. Any issues during our stay were promptly resolved. Breakfast: The breakfast view was excellent, and the variety of dishes was rich. It was a standard, good quality breakfast. Transportation: Very convenient indeed. It's only about twenty minutes to the airport. The beach, Xiamen University, and Nanputuo Temple are all nearby. It's just a five-minute walk to Shapowei, and getting a taxi is easy.

The hotel's location and environment are excellent, offering views of Gulangyu Island. The service is warm and attentive; anything we needed was promptly addressed. The hotel is conveniently located directly across the road from the Gulangyu ferry terminal, just a short walk through an underpass. The facilities include a projector, XiaoDu voice control, and a smart toilet. The hygiene was also impeccable and clean. A very satisfying hotel experience.

This is an established luxury hotel in Xiamen, and the decor is quite nice. The rooms are spacious, and the large floor-to-ceiling windows offer a fantastic view of Gulangyu Island. The hotel staff are also very friendly; they always greet you proactively. It was a really pleasant stay.

Staying for four nights was an absolute 10/10 experience! The bathroom's wet and dry separation design is incredibly practical, making it clean and convenient to use. The bedding is super soft, ensuring a fantastic night's sleep. The location is superb, right on Longtou Road, so shopping and dining are literally downstairs. The service was excellent. If you're coming to Gulangyu, this is definitely the place to stay. 🥰 The rooftop night view is absolutely stunning!

I stayed for three nights, and the room was cleaned promptly by the staff every day. The Western restaurant's breakfast had slight variations daily, and I enjoyed some unique local Minnan specialties like 'mianxian' (thin rice noodles), 'caiguo' (vegetable dumpling), and 'gongtang' (peanut brittle). The hotel is conveniently located opposite the BRICS Convention Center and just a five-minute walk to the beach, making it a great choice for a relaxing getaway. Getting around is easy too, with Metro Line 2 nearby. Taxis to other places are affordable; it's about 20-30 RMB to Zhongshan Road and only about 10 kilometers to the high-speed train station. There were plenty of welcome perks, including complimentary drinks and a travel photo shoot. I didn't get a chance to use the complimentary sailing experience due to time constraints, so I'll save that for my next visit.

This ended up being our favorite stop in all of the China trip. The hotel was fantastic. This is the first adjoining rooms hotel that was conceptualized to be a family hotel as opposed to just mean two rooms next to each other. It was amazing to have the ability to have the kids run between the two rooms have but double bathrooms great closet space good floor plan. The location is also really nice. We look forward to coming back in seen another time this was a great hotel. I cannot emphasize how much we enjoyed this hotel.

The rooms are clean and tidy, with comfortable bedding and complete bathroom facilities. The service is warm and attentive, with prompt front desk responses. Breakfast is rich and features local Fujian (Min-nan) specialties. The accompanying pool and gym facilities are comprehensive, offering great value for money. The surrounding area is quiet, and transportation is convenient, making it suitable for both leisure and business stays. Overall, the experience was satisfying and highly recommended.

The room is very spacious with a stunning, expansive sea view, including Gulangyu Island. The bedding is super comfortable, and the complimentary tea is delicious. The hotel even has robots, making it super convenient for picking up takeout. A big thank you to Sophia's team – they were incredibly welcoming and helpful!

Overall, it was pretty good. The hotel's location is super convenient for getting around. The pier is about 500 meters from the entrance, and it's just a fifteen-minute boat ride to Xiamen No. 1 Pier, making it easy to go anywhere. A concierge even proactively helped us with directions to the pier; he was really enthusiastic 👍. The ferry ticket to Gulangyu Island was only 35 RMB, and the hotel breakfast was decent too. Regarding the upgrade to a deluxe sea-view room (subject to availability on the day): I booked a superior sea-view room, and the front desk upgraded us to a deluxe sea-view family room. For the mini-bar, you need to proactively contact the front desk for refills. Also, for the cute little souvenir doll included in the package, you need to ask the front desk for it. It's a really adorable doll 🥰
