5-Star Hotels in Jilin, China

Wanda Resort is truly a great place for a vacation. Aside from being a bit crowded during the summer holidays, the dining, activities, and benefits are all quite rich. Our butler, Benjamin, was very responsive and enthusiastic. We stayed for three nights, and one of them happened to be my child's birthday. Benjamin quickly helped arrange birthday decorations and a cake, and also assisted me in sorting out a forgotten deposit at the water park. He was very trustworthy! The hotel's location is excellent, quite close to Changbai Mountain West Station. It's about an hour and a half to the South Slope, twenty minutes to the ecological rafting, and just over an hour to Erdaobaihe. The environment is lovely; we even saw the Big Dipper!

The apartment is exactly as shown in the pictures, very clean and cozy, ensuring a great night's sleep. Communication was prompt and helpful, and it offers excellent value for money, making it a great choice for accommodation. It's also very convenient for visiting Changbai Mountain. The hotel even includes a complimentary hot spring experience. The hotel's surroundings are fantastic, with a wooden boardwalk leading into the forest. Special shout-out to Front Office Manager Zhang Yongping, who was incredibly welcoming and immediately sent over important information!

Before I list all the issues encountered during this trip, I'd like to commend the following staff members (whose full names I unfortunately don't know): Butler Xiao Song, Duty Manager Xiao Gao on August 6th, and Duty Manager Xiao Wang on August 7th. I was satisfied with their service attitude and efficiency; my dissatisfaction lies with the hotel's management and some other personnel. Below, I will truthfully recount my experience: 1. **Check-in on August 5th**: We checked into the hotel before 3 PM. Out of three rooms, only one twin room was ready. We went for dinner and returned around 4:30 PM, only to be told another room was still not ready! After urging, it was cleaned within 20 minutes, allowing everyone to finally check in. 2. **Incident on August 6th**: After returning from an outing, my wife slipped and slightly twisted her ankle in the room. The reason was a large amount of water on the floor (photos will be attached), clearly left after cleaning and not dried promptly. Upon immediate complaint, the duty manager arranged an upgrade to a suite (a serious issue, but the solution was acceptable). 3. **The Most Serious Issue**: Around 8 PM on the evening of the 6th, the air conditioning in the suite felt ineffective. Maintenance was called, and we were told the AC was fine, just that the room was large and it would cool down eventually. By 10:30 PM, it was still ineffective. When we requested another check, we were informed that the AC in this room (3052) was indeed faulty! It couldn't be repaired that day! Given how late it was, I only asked the duty manager to quickly arrange another problem-free room so we could rest, and I didn't pursue further complaints. Since I don't know the name of this maintenance worker, I can't name him, but his behavior was appalling! The hotel should bear full responsibility for this. I'd also like to state that I am a Marriott Platinum Elite member and usually enjoy staying at Marriott brand hotels. However, due to the points mentioned above, my experience this stay was extremely poor! This is not the service standard or staff quality expected from a five-star hotel! For all these issues, I reserve the right to continue complaining and seek compensation. I urge both Trip.com and Marriott Group to take these issues seriously and provide timely feedback!

Right at check-in, we were given two warm bottles of Changbai Mountain mineral water. The room was standard, and the heating was very strong – we had to sleep with the window open. The hot springs, however, are in a separate building, and you have to walk through the lobby on the ground floor to get to them. The lobby and the breakfast area on the second floor weren't warm enough, making it easy to catch a cold after coming back from the hot springs. The hot springs themselves are communal and only have a few small pools; it's not really worth going unless you just want a quick taste of Changbai Mountain's hot springs.

The room was fantastic. My child said their favorite part of the Changbai Mountain trip was staying at Huamei. Xiao Wei and Xiao Zhuang provided excellent and thoughtful service, far surpassing our experience at Wanda. Any requests were quickly communicated and resolved. We'll definitely be back in winter!

Had a wonderful stay! I have to commend the front desk staff! Check-in was swift with no long waits, and the process was seamless. They provided detailed explanations for directions and local attractions, always with a smile. Their service was professional and friendly, leaving a fantastic impression! A special shout-out to Jessie from the front desk, Jia Liufang. Her constant smile and patient explanations of the hotel's operating hours for various areas were incredibly thoughtful. The Executive Lounge also has a great atmosphere. Next time I'm in Changchun, I'm heading straight for the Shangri-La.

I was very satisfied with the hotel staff's service! The duty manager sent a list of benefits and a pick-up reminder before check-in, which was great. Early August was incredibly busy, with many families traveling with children. We arrived at 3:30 PM, and the room wasn't ready yet, so they offered afternoon tea, which was quite lovely. We checked in at 4:00 PM. The room facilities felt a bit dated, but it didn't really bother us. It was perfectly fine for a stay. One excellent point was the breakfast operation. Even though it was quite crowded, staff seated guests and took orders. Items like omelets and noodles could be ordered and delivered to the table, avoiding queues and congestion. This was really good and showed a great optimization mindset! Daily housekeeping and ice bucket delivery were also prompt! Overall, I'd probably stay here again.

First off, the hotel's WeChat service deserves high praise; it's truly excellent, always anticipating your needs. The lovely Ms. Qingsong is as kind as she is beautiful. Secondly, the hotel is incredibly close to the Changbai Mountain North Slope Scenic Area visitor center, saving you a good portion of travel time when heading to the North Scenic Area. There's also underground parking for those driving. Lastly, the breakfast is genuinely good, with a wide variety of options, and the watermelon was a standout—definitely not an afterthought. Highly recommend!

The staff contacted me in advance. The Wanda Resort is very well-established, and you could easily spend three or four days there enjoying Changbai Mountain. Although the hotel is a bit older, it's still in great shape. Housekeeping was prompt and thorough, and the lobby always smelled clean and pleasant. The shuttle arrangements were excellent, with pick-up and drop-off available for restaurants and shops within the resort. It definitely felt like a vacation. The West conquering slide and grass skiing were both fun, and the scenic cable car ride at sunset was beautiful. I just wish there were a few more complimentary perks.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, directly across the river from the famous Floating Market and adjacent to People's Park. The lobby is grand, and you need to swipe your room card to access the guest floors. The breakfast restaurant on the 24th floor offers a wide variety of options, with fresh sushi and omelets made to order. They even have original and red date/longan flavored soy milk. Enjoying breakfast while admiring the cityscape of Yanji feels fantastic! 👍 The hotel owner is Korean, so there are many Korean tour groups – about six large groups during my stay. The room amenities are well thought out: the curtains automatically close when you leave and the power turns off, which helps maintain the room temperature. The toilet only flushes *after* you stand up. Why do I specifically mention this? Because on my road trips along the 331 highway in Northeast China last year and this year, some hotels had toilets that flushed when you sat down and again when you stood up, which felt unhygienic and wasteful. This hotel's equipment is properly adjusted from the start. The faucets are also extended; if you've done renovations, you'd know these extended spouts are specially chosen. The benefit is that when washing hands or clothes, the spout is centered in the sink, so you don't have to bend over awkwardly. The mattress is also comfortable; I didn't check the brand, but a mattress that feels this good would cost around 10,000 RMB for home use. The tatami mat is particularly noteworthy – perfectly fine for one person to sleep on. The entire room is simply and comfortably decorated. My two-day stay was pleasant and relaxing. When I checked out, the hotel manager even gave me a small gift. If the hotel wants to improve further, I think the quality of your bath products could be upgraded. The black packaging looks a bit low-end, and I preferred to use my own products because yours weren't appealing. Exiting the hotel, turn left and walk uphill for about 5 minutes, and you'll reach the North Gate of People's Park. The hotel's first-floor restaurant, Ban Dao Xue Niu (Peninsula Snow Beef), is worth trying, and you get a 10% discount with your room card.
