4-Star Hotels in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan

Location: Right next to Omicho Market, about a 15-minute walk from Kanazawa Station, and easily accessible by bus. Kanazawa city center is quite small, and the hotel is about a 10-minute walk to Korinbo, the main shopping district. Room Layout: Upon entering the hotel, you remove your shoes and walk barefoot, giving it a Japanese onsen hotel feel. The rooms are tatami style, and you switch to slippers when entering the restroom. Surrounding Environment: I was assigned a room not facing the street, which was quite quiet. The hallway soundproofing, however, was average. One night after midnight, I could clearly hear some Hongkongers speaking loudly in their room. Service: It was decent. The front desk staff's attitude was fine, but they enforce a policy of cleaning rooms only once every three days or more. If you request daily cleaning, there's an additional charge of 1500 JPY, which is a bit annoying. Hot Spring Facilities: Pretty good! There's an outdoor onsen and a sauna. The onsen area is quite spacious. After soaking, you get free ice pops, and there's late-night ramen available. It was a very comfortable hot spring experience.

This was a truly satisfying stay. Before checking in, I had visited Shirakawa-go and was a little disappointed not to see any snow. But then, on my first morning at the hotel, I pulled back the curtains to find it snowing heavily! It was absolutely amazing. I decided right then and there not to go anywhere and just enjoy the snow from the hotel. The hotel is a bit older, but the room was clean and tidy. I had upgraded my room, and it wasn't small at all. The area mentioned in the description probably just refers to the room itself, but the entryway was also very spacious, allowing me to easily open my large luggage. The indoor balcony in front was also quite large, perfect for a family to sit and enjoy the snow. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered direct mountain views, with the river flowing right below. The large floor-to-ceiling windows in the restaurant lobby were even more stunning – it was wonderful to enjoy the snow while dining. Even the outdoor onsen provided beautiful views of the snow and river while soaking. The best part was how few people there were; both times, it was just me and my daughter, so there was no need to book a private onsen. Behind the hotel, there's a walking trail. We explored it that day, and while the heavy snow made it a bit challenging to walk, it was incredibly beautiful and completely deserted. Every photo we took was a scenic masterpiece. Our shoes and socks got wet on the way back, but thankfully, we didn't feel cold. There are convenience stores and supermarkets nearby, making it very convenient to buy food and other necessities. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends. The staff were also very friendly. Although most of them didn't speak English, they used translation software, so communication was just a bit slow.

i could hear the traffic clearly on the 3rd floor, so they moved me to the 12th floor where it was mostly quiet. there was an electrical buzzing sound coming from the bathroom, i thought it was the lightbulb, but when i got in the shower it sounded like it emanated from the vent. i shut the bathroom door and it was almost inaudible from bed so i was able to sleep. definitely quieter than most of the japanese hotels i've experienced in this price range. very clean. very polite staff. free water machine on every floor (i think). free coffee in the lobby. convenience stores nearby. expensive grocery store ~200 meters. regular grocery stores are a bus ride away, so it made more sense to me to get the buffet. breakfast costs 1800yen when paying in-person, but when adding it on trip.com it was less of an increase in cost. it was disappointing because there were pictures of different kinds of fish online and on the picture in the hotel lobby, but they didn't have fish as seen kin the pictures. i still purchased the breakfast when i extended my stay because they had eggs, good vegetables, and ice cream. the fruit was in syrup so i'm guessing it was from a can. orange juice was from a carton. i didn't see any meat in the curry, just potatoes. overall, mostly cheap, but with a few tasty items of quality. only 2 washing machines and they also dry the clothes so it takes ~2 hours. 400-600 yen for washing and drying. it dispenses detergent automatically, but the detergent was insufficient so i added my own and rewashed it; therefore, i was unfortunately hogging 1 of the 2 machines for several hours. plus it cost me well over 1000 yen.

Brilliant boutique hotel with truly kind and amazing staff.  Only 15 rooms but the staff truly outsize the hotel in terms of what would wow me.  They really make you feel very comfortable and safe.  Great location to visit Kenrokuen! 

Everything was good, but I'm afraid I can't give high marks for the facilities and service. It was self-check-in, and cleaning only happened after a few days' stay. I was a bit annoyed to find the hotel was cheaper after I booked it. When I asked about a room upgrade, they seemed really surprised, like, why be surprised if it's not possible? It's like going to a public bathhouse, seeing people naked, and then being surprised – the sign says no surprises! Secondly, there were no facilities whatsoever. It's one thing not to have disposable slippers for adults, but they didn't even have them for kids, only adult-sized ones. My child was clattering around in oversized slippers. If they don't cater to children, they should state that they don't accept kids. As for disposable skincare products, razors, and combs, forget about it, definitely none of those. Although my son said this was the worst hotel we've ever booked, I don't think it's that bad. The large public bath was quite comfortable. I hope the owner improves things.

We only stayed for one night because it was a short trip, and honestly, we were sorry we couldn't stay longer. The hotel alone was worth the trip! The location is perfect, just a short walk from the station. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, and their English was excellent. The waiting area was very comfortable and offered many useful services, including a laundry, welcome tea, and free water and ice. The highlight was definitely the onsen, with separate baths for men and women. It was such a relaxing experience and probably the best part of our stay. Everything in the hotel was clean and thoughtfully taken care of, with great attention to detail. We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend this hotel!

This was my first time staying in such a spacious room in Japan, and the price was incredibly reasonable. The hotel provided fresh water, coffee, and tea daily, and the service was very attentive. The pajamas in the room were yukata-style, which was a nice local touch. The location is right next to JR Kanazawa Station, just a few minutes' walk away, with large department stores and shopping streets nearby. It's incredibly convenient for shopping, transportation, and a wide variety of dining options.

The location is super convenient, just a 5-minute walk from the train station. This is the biggest room I've stayed in so far on this trip, and the facilities are quite complete. To the right of the hotel entrance is a 7-Eleven, which sorted out our dinner, and to the left is a Kamameshi restaurant, which we used for lunch. Both offered diverse and delicious options.
