We are in the middle of a 2 night stay here, with no complaints so far. The room is large and contains all amenities - there is a cafetière if it interests you to bring your own ground coffee. Rooms contain a fridge, combi oven and 2 hobs and all kitchen equipment so that you can prepare your own food. Everything was clean and well serviced. Breakfast is complimentary if you don’t want to make your own, with a good selection including full English and continental options. I booked this hotel due to not wanting to be in the centre of town and it was a great choice, really close to Albert docks and an easy walk to Liverpool one and the restaurant quarter. Car park does have columns but being used to city centre parking it was no bother - the spaces are absolutely fine. Staff are really friendly and will happily accommodate you - somewhat unusual for an English hotel! Thank you Staybridge Suites, a lovely base to explore Liverpool.

Dora the bartender is by far and away the best bar staff I have ever met. She deserves the world and I would come back in a heartbeat for her. The room is beautiful and the reception staff were effective and very efficient. A perfect place for a hotel, right on the Albert Docks next to everywhere we wanted to be.

Location couldn't be better. Hotel is basic but serviceable, but I wish they had spent a little more on interiors for the beautiful building and interiors. You are in a world-heritage site but the room furnishings are basic roadside motel quality. It was particularly funny that the room itself was very large - with a basic double bed perched in one corner - there as room for a super king, which would look better and be nicer and only cost a tiny bit more. Bathroom was basic but fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lifts are small and slow, but I suspect that's a limitation of the space available and rules about listed buildings. But you stay here for the location and we were very pleased with that. TIP - don't bother parking at Liverpool ONE which is a hike away. Pay and display parking right at Albert Dock is essentially the same price and way more convenient

We visited Liverpool for a trip to anfield as a birthday treat for my son last month, I was a little dubious about staying in a hostel as it was a first for us and especially travelling with children but we are so pleased we did, we booked a room with private bathroom a double bed and bunk beds the place was clean, spacious , warm and comfortable. What more could you want after a long day sightseeing. The hostel is in a great location the staff are very helpful and friendly and the place is secure at night with a locked gate. At a quarter of the price of an apar**ent/hotel in the area. It’s a no brainer, we would most definitely stay again and recommend others to do the same.

Great centrally located city hotel. Clean, modern and friendly /helpful staff. I received a lovely welcome message from the General Manager and Operations Manager as were were part of the Wedding Group. There was a nice touch as we received a mini bottle of Liverpool Gin to drink or to have as a takeaway souvenir. Breakfast was ok except the coffee machine broke down. Luckily we could get a coffee from the bar. Some feedback - it would be good if the hotel could invest in a proper Italian barista coffee machine as some of the guests do not like Nescafé type coffee! A proper coffee with coffee beans and made at the time is much appreciated !

Great location for tourist attractions and conference/concert centres. The breakfast was varied with hot and cold continental breakfasts unlike Hampton by Hilton next door. I preferred here. Road noise was not a problem here. You can catch a bus from the Liverpool One bus station to Lime Street railway station and elsewhere. For new arrivals I would recommend a taxi from Lime Street station if you are not familiar with the streets and for some reason the buses appear not to pick up from near the station!

Good location, easy to find and free parking. Lovely staff. Nice and clean hotel and room. The size on the room was good, but the bathroom was terrible. The bathroom was like a big plastic box which was put in the room. When I used the shower, the whole room became wet. You could nok take showerhead down, it was mounted in the ceiling. The toilet ring did not stay up itself. There was no pegs for towels. The room does not have a fridge or minibar. I would not recommend to stay here longer than one night.

we came back from an event approx midnight. asked for 2 glasses of red wine at the bar. staff member offered us a number of bottles . we picked one, she opened it. then the duty manager turned up and said that this wine wasn’t available by the glass only by the bottle. ( which was £55) we explained that we were offered this option by the bar staff but he still said no. bar staff then had to put the cork back in the bottle. we asked how they could do that when it could only bought by the bottle and no customer would buy a bottle of wine that had already been opened. no change. out of courtesy to the bar staff we agreed to pick another red wine. turns out they only had one glass left of that one and no spares . therefore we ended up with our 3rd choice option. this all took 45mns from order to serve. some of the worst hotel service we have ever had.

The location is very good, just beside the pier, walking to the tate museum, the Liverpool Museum and the pier, the view from the window is also very attractive. You can watch the day and night at the pier. The hotel has some connection with the Titanic. The door of each room is a sense of cabin.

We picked this hotel primarily for its location as it's in the city centre and very close to my daughters university accommodation. Our room was clean and tidy and had everything except a fridge and any staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable and rooms were quiet so we had a few good nights sleep. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food but the location is in the heart of the city and there are lots of bars and restaurants nearby. I also liked that there was a little desk beside the reception with extra milk, teabags etc so you could grab some extra if you needed them throughout the day.

The Castle Collection - 25 Castle Street
4.2/538 Reviews

My husband and I stayed at 42 Castle Street in September 2022 and liked it so much that we booked with Castle Collection again. This time (May 2023 ) we stayed in 25 Castle Street (flat 12) and it was so grotty that we had to go out and buy cleaning products from Tesco’s (they only supply dishwashing liquid). It was actually an adventure of discovery. There was dried up vomit on the lounge suite, (nice and crunchy) the bed head and wall to the left of it had some liquid drip stuff on it ( came off with disinfectant wipes), the walls were filthy, (more liquid drips, so I can only assume that a lot of drinking/ puking must have taken place. The skirting boards had stains and black grime, ( sadly, they defeated me and my myriad of cleaning products) the cushions had liquid/vomit stains and the carpet was so gross I didn’t want to imagine what had gone on in the past. As for the view… well, the windows had bird crap all over them from the derelict building next door, which has more than its share of pigeons and their nests. If you leave any window open to let fresh air in, (it’s stuffy) the pigeons try to get in. They do tend to be somewhat noisy, but ear plugs fixed that. You get the odd seagull crapping, too, but I guess they decided that there’s no need to try and clean the windows, as there’s nothing to see anyway. I realise that that the building and birds are not Castle Collection’s fault, but they’re advertising ‘luxury apartments‘ and to be honest, this apartment made me feel uncomfortable and because it was so grotty, I avoided it as much as possible, and I was there for eight nights! Anyway, I managed to clean the vomit off the lounge and the drips off the bed head and wall, but the living room wall and skirting boards defeated me as they were too ingrained. Okay, it was straight after Eurovision, but really? I am a frequent visitor to Liverpool, as am originally from Liverpool and live in Australia, and I thought the Castle Collection was a great place - umm, no. So disheartening. Anyway, the positives - great location and communication regarding access etc was really efficient and friendly. Really easy access. Number 42 Castle St has a lift, but number 25 doesn’t. Car park nearby with discount rates.

I booked this hotel for a little break for me & my husband (we are both middle aged). I picked it for location & price. They were both spot on, but I didn't check that it was right in the heart of club land, so we didn't get any sleep from the noise from bars, clubs & party goers. So great for the money, if you want to be out there partying, but not so good when you're older. Upon check out, I mentioned the noise to the receptionist, who told me that I should have requested a quieter room, which I would have done, had I have know that they had them! So upon reflection a) the hotel needs to point out that there are quiet rooms available & b) I'll definately be doing a thorough research on any future city break hotels.

Not bad, mainly very close to the stadium, just a few minutes walk, the location is absolutely good, there is a convenience store in the gas station diagonally opposite, if you need to cook, you can buy simple dishes, there are not many choices for eating out, the neighborhood is relatively deserted, because the first time I booked a homestay, I didn’t have experience. I don't know if it is contactless check-in, you must remember to see the email with the room password. If you have any questions, you can also call or send an email.

I went to Liverpool specifically to watch a Liverpool game. If there is a chance next time, I will still choose this hotel. The attitude is very good and very enthusiastic! And it's very close to Liverpool Lime Station, take a train from London to Liverpool, you can see the hotel as soon as you get out of the train station, and it's only a 2-minute walk to arrive! And it's right in the city center, basically everything you need can be met on foot. If you want to go to Anfield, you can get there by taking No. 17 at the bus stop coming out of the hotel. If you travel to Liverpool, it is recommended that you live here.

We came in late every night and the bar staff were so friendly and welcoming - making sure that we were able to have last orders and giving us extra time to finish without hurrying us out- for which we were very grateful ! Excellent breakfast and extra fast service at dinner as we needed to get back to the theatre on time. Rooms smell damp and musty like a lift, no fresh air just stale. Noticed that the air conditioning has no return air grill only a supply grill where a minimal amount of air blows out from which smells stale and musty like a loft does. Air con noisy because it's not able to pull any air from the room. Dust on top of ledges. To top things off booked a room with breakfast but was told my booking didn't have breakfast and then I was over charged. Quite a few complaining about lights not working. If you are heading to Anfield Stadium for a match, this hotel should be one of your best choices. At the very beginning, I thought it was a bit far away from the city centre, however, in fact there are quite a number of bus service to the city centre with just around 15 mins. Ok, by Google map, 30 mins on foot to Anfield. A bit far away? Trust me, you will end up spending an hour to queue for a bus. 30 mins walking back to the hotel definitely is the best choice. Just next to a supermarket where you can buy bottle water, next to Mcdonald as well. Walking back to the hotel and enjoy a British Pub food is also a nice choice. Staffs are friendly, and provide useful tips. Helped me to print out my broading pass. To conclude, my 3 nights stay was worthy!

This has to be the friendliest and most helpful hotel I have ever stayed at ! They honestly cant do enough for you. The hotel has Liverpool FC theme in the bar and outside area. My husband and I contacted them to book a surprise to take our son to visit the Liverpool Stadium Tour, so the theme of the hotel was amazing for him, we watched the away Liverpool match with a few other supporters the night prior to the visit. The bar staff were so helpful and friendly. They didn't serve food, but it was no issue to have food delivered and ate in the bar during the game. From the initial contact they were fully booked, but Gill contacted me as soon as they received a cancellation and helped us every step of the way with the booking, they even offered to book the tour. The room was spacious and immaculate, the beds very comfortable - what else could you ask for? The following morning we went to the tour and we were allowed to leave the car at the hotel, so that saved us the hassle of moving and parking elsewhere. Its literally just down the road from the stadium - you can walk out the drive and you can see it! Perfect for anyone visiting or going to the game. Gill was amazing - she knew the reason for our visit and seemed to go out of her way to make it a special event - it really has help make it a memory my son wont forget - so thank you!

This is a good value choice right in the heart of Liverpool. We stayed in a private room on the third floor overlooking Matthew Street. Yes, it’s very noisy at the weekend, but there’s nothing anyone can do about that. If you’re out drinking yourselves and planning a late night, then you’ll probably crash out when you get in and sleep through the music blasting in from outside. The room was clean enough, a good shower and comfortable bed. The staff are friendly and the reception/breakfast area was quite attractive. It’s a budget option and if that’s what you need, I would recommend Kabannas.

The staff were great and the Sky Bar restaurant was great also. Parking in the NCP is £17 for 24 hours and unfortunately there was no discount offered, so my only feedback would be to get a better rate in for guests, and maybe provide some guidance (as the car park is a bit of maze) and then they would have all angles covered.

On the first day of arrival, there was a problem with the button on the toilet in the room, but the staff immediately responded and prepared another room. Also, when I asked if there was a coin laundry nearby, he politely told me the location. Place was exactly as advertised. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth staying if your trip is short. As for downsides, hostel has limited number of bathrooms and showers - this can cause issues if you have to leave quickly. The ventilation in rooms is basically non-existent, and rooms house up to 10 people, so I’ll leave the air quality to your imagination. Sound isolation is not great, so if somebody has a good time in the kitchen you’ll going to hear that. Bring earplugs if you are light sleeper. Cleanliness is subjective, I’m not that picky, but having crumbs in my bed was disconcerting. Some sinks have filters with hair in them. Haven’t seen anything that would be actually harmful like mold or hygiene products, so that is good. Location is good. Liverpool is not that big and you’ll get to city centre in under an hour even with most leisurely pace. Do visit the cathedral on your way there. I haven’t seen any shops in immediate vicinity though, but I didn’t need them, so maybe you find some if you look. Bus stop for airport is fairly close, so that is a plus as well. Overall, this is a hostel. You can sleep there, store your stuff and maybe have a chat with interesting people. Price is fair for experience.

The Noisiest Stay I've had ever!, we were warned by staff to be fair, our room was no6 on the side of the hotel, and the racket outside was going right up till 5am, they do give you ear plugs but they are useless, anyway onto the hotel, our key card didn't work properly nor did other peoples but the lady and gent on the desk make out it's your fault and there isn't a problem and were quite curt and sharp with you, very unprofessional as they are clearly faulty! Decided to have a drink before going to bed in the bar, the music was deafening, no chance to have a chat! And it was awful too, all those compilation songs that everyone hated back in the 80's, really outdated, bar prices were very reasonable, compared to the rest of Lpool town centre where they are a complete rip off, our room was quite small, clean enough but carpets are tired and in need of replacement, bathroom ok bed comfortable enough, breakfast the next morning was good, bacon was lovely, mention for the lady who served us she was very nice and pleasant, considering the £110 cost I was disappointed and would look elsewhere in the future

Obviously we read the good & bad reviews. In my opinion this is a modern hotel with good sized rooms, friendly helpful staff and a nice (small) pool with a sauna & gym. 30% discount on the secure parking at the Q parking opposite was good too. Location in the city centre just on the edge of the L1 shopping eating and drinking area is good too. We were on the 6th floor which was lovely and quiet. There are a few oddities like the separate loo & shower/wash hand basin room facility (didn’t bother us), slightly disobedient lifts and a few minor broken items/scratches etc. Nothing worth moaning about for us. We caught a lucky deal at £65 for the night so value was really good.

The staff at Sefton Park could not have been more helpful and welcoming. We had a complimentary drink on arrival, they added breakfast and paid for a couple of taxi trips into town for the inconvenience. The hotel is in a lovely setting in Sefton Park and is clean and nicely decorated. We have no hesitation in recommending a stay here.
