"Atour hotel is good if proximity to Dalian Bei train station is essential. It was a 8-9minute drive to the train station. Check-in process was inattentive. We had inquired about our pre-arranged online purchases which were supposed to be delivered prior to my arrival. I had informed the hotel via trip.com app that I had purchased some items for winter use and delivered to the hotel-the front counter staff were not very helpful until Ms Fei Yu 菲羽 arrived. She enthusiastically helped us call the delivery company to enquire the status of the parcels and rearrange another delivery so we received our warm packs on time. She took the extra step to inform her colleagues and even helped us pack an early breakfast on our departure day when we had to catch an early train to Changbaishan. Kudos to 菲羽 and her service excellence!"

"Let me start by saying this: it's my first business trip to Dalian, and this is the second hotel I've stayed at – both have been excellent! How can the service be so good? I'm in love with Dalian! The location is superb, very close to Xinghai Square, and right by the seaside as soon as you step out. During my stay, I added the butler's WeChat, so I could conveniently message them for anything I needed. When I arrived, the front desk staff helped me with my luggage to my room, and I even received a welcome afternoon tea. There aren't many rooms on each floor, so it's very quiet, and the room itself is comfortable! The bed is neither too soft nor too hard, I slept so well. The curtains are automated with a button, the bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and the bath towels are thick. I usually bring my own toiletries when I travel, but I actually used the shampoo here and it was fantastic – left my hair fragrant and smooth. Very satisfied!"

"There is noise on the third floor, there is noise on the third floor! I checked with the manager in the middle of the night and said that the computer room upstairs was just like this. It was too troublesome to change rooms in the middle of the night, so I reluctantly stayed. If my friends staying here are light sleepers, be careful when booking a room. Also, can’t a hotel this big just buy a few sofas? There isn't one in the lobby, nor in the room. The place is quite big and completely empty. What's the use of being so big? The bathroom is big enough and has nothing! Traveling in the off-season costs around 400, which is not very cost-effective. The location is pretty good and the surrounding environment is pretty good!"

A huge thank you to the bespectacled young man at the front desk! Every day, he greeted us warmly, proactively asked about our plans, and shared tips on fun things to do and great places to eat in Dalian. As first-time visitors, his recommendations were incredibly helpful and made us feel so welcome. Another young man, who worked the night shift, truly touched me. My family was staying in different room types, and my two nephews were waiting outside their grandfather's room. Their grandpa had fallen asleep, and they couldn't reach him or me. The front desk attendant noticed them and didn't ignore them; instead, he stayed with them, patiently looking after them until I arrived. What impressed me even more was his professionalism and caution. When I got there, he thoroughly verified my identity and confirmed I was a guest for that room before helping us open the door. That level of security awareness and responsibility is truly commendable. A great hotel isn't just about the facilities and environment; it's about encountering staff who genuinely care for their guests. And I must praise the beds here! They are so incredibly comfortable! I usually have trouble falling asleep, but these past few days, I've drifted off almost as soon as I lay down, and my sleep quality has been excellent. Thank you for your thoughtful service; it made this trip to Dalian even more wonderful. Next time I'm in Dalian, I will definitely stay here again ❤️

The hotel and the room are more beautiful than in the photo. Amazing interior, incredible terrace, helpful girls at the reception, cute dog. We were lucky with the weather, the view is beautiful. The only negative is that it was difficult for us to explain ourselves, Russian guests rarely visit the hotel 🙈 There is a kettle and mugs in the room, but no tea or sugar, and we were not allowed to order a kettle of tea for a fee in the room. There is no cutlery either, but you can get it at the reception/in the shared kitchen) I would like to live in this place longer!!! An incredibly colorful area and hotel. If we are in Dalian again, we will definitely stay. We recommend it!!!

I rarely write reviews, but this hotel absolutely deserves a huge thumbs-up! **Amenities:** The pool on the third floor is great for kids! The depth ranges from 1.2m to 1.6m, so remember to bring swim rings. A special note: swim caps are mandatory to enter the pool. The sky garden on the fifth floor is stunning, especially at night. It's a fantastic spot for photos, with the ocean in front and a lit-up castle behind – unbelievably beautiful! Also, the kids' play area on the fifth floor is highly recommended. When booking through Trip.com, sometimes a package includes access to the 'Kids Castle,' otherwise you'll need to buy tickets (60 for one child, 88 for one adult and one child). My child absolutely loved it and couldn't get enough, and honestly, even the adults had a blast – it's that much fun! **Cleanliness:** The hotel is spotless and well-maintained. Even the nooks and crannies are clean! **Environment:** The environment is beyond words; every corner is incredibly photogenic. Whether you're traveling with family and kids, as a couple, or for any other reason, it's definitely a picture-perfect destination! **Service:** I have to dedicate a bit more space to this. We booked two rooms without breakfast. The manager, seeing we had a baby, specially offered us a complimentary breakfast. Moreover, any issues we had during our stay were resolved perfectly and immediately! The service absolutely deserves full marks!

The B&B converted from a duplex villa is pretty good overall. It's my first time staying in a B&B, it's pretty good, with both advantages and disadvantages Advantages: 1. The room is a loft, and children like to go up and down, which is more suitable for children to play; 2. The hotel service attitude is very good, basically they are very enthusiastic to help if there is a need, and takeaways can also be delivered upstairs; 3. There are storybooks on the first floor of the hotel that can be borrowed, and there is also a small area suitable for young children to play; 4. The hotel is close to the beach gate No. 1, just walk a little across the road; 5. There are sand digging toys that can be borrowed. When I left, I left the sand digging tools in the hotel, which is convenient for subsequent guests to use. Disadvantages: 1. The light blocking in the hotel room is not very good. We changed two rooms this time. Candy's home is a little bright at night. The curtains on the window behind the sofa are a little short. The street lights are brighter at night when the lights are turned off. The room is very bright at four in the morning. It is recommended to add blackout curtains; 2. The overall hygiene of the hotel is good, but the details are not enough. The next day, we stayed in Big Bird's home. The table where the phone is placed on the bedside upstairs was very dusty, and the bathroom also had a bit of smell; 3. The breakfast is indeed a bit simple, with few choices. 4. If you need to go to the sea, you need to go to the vicinity of Gates 4 and 5. It is less than 1km on foot and you need to take a taxi, which is not very convenient. There are too many tourists on buses near Gate 1, and the garbage for feeding seagulls is thrown everywhere. It is not recommended to play near Gate 1.

Traveling during off-peak season, this hotel offers incredible value for money. The location is fantastic, making it super convenient for kids to go crabbing. The service is also excellent; it's so much better than the unhelpful one next door! A big thank you to 'Eason' (Chen Yixun) who brought us plenty of water when he saw we had a large group – it felt great to have all our requests met. There was also a very handsome manager who gave the kids fun toys. Overall, it provided a wonderful vacation experience. The hamburger and fish and chips were also great and very popular with the children. On the first floor, there's even a DJI drone available for a test flight, which the kids loved. The only downside is that because it's so close to the sea, the bedding can be a bit damp. If you're traveling with small children, you might want to bring your own sheets.

The room is beautiful, well-equipped, and the cleaning service is very thoughtful. The front desk is on duty 24 hours a day, and the service is very timely! The breakfast is rich and there are many varieties. I stayed with my children for four nights. The children cried when they left. I love this hotel so much! The surrounding area of the hotel is very convenient, with various types of restaurants, street barbecues, snack shops, supermarkets, everything you need, especially convenient!

The hotel's bay is absolutely stunning and very private. You can tell the owner has an eye for aesthetics; even though the hotel is small, every corner is picturesque, and the observation deck on the slope is breathtaking. When the weather is good, the bay turns into a beautiful 'jelly sea,' making it well worth staying to experience this beach. On the downside: It feels like the hotel's cleaning and breakfast services are outsourced to women from Northeast China. The cleanliness is frankly mediocre, so I wouldn't recommend it for germaphobes. As for breakfast, I didn't eat the food, so I can't comment on that; I only had coffee. However, the restaurant service is problematic. In the mornings, the kitchen staff were loudly gossiping in Northeastern dialect with the waitresses, openly commenting on previous guests, which was very impolite. The service lacked smiles, and their gazes were somewhat stern. While eating breakfast, they would stare at you, completely lacking personal boundaries. When my mother went to get food, an older lady kept following her and staring, making her feel very uncomfortable. There were some pastries in a steamer, and when my mother opened it to see what they were, a waitress sarered, 'These are yellow croaker dumplings, can you even eat them?!' On a positive note, the front desk staff, the bar guy, the convenience store auntie, and the paddleboard instructor were all very nice and friendly. I hope the restaurant service quality improves, and that staff receive etiquette and professionalism training, as well as addressing the cleanliness issues. Thank you.

Smart Bear Hotel (Dalian Railway Station Zhongshan Square Subway Station Branch)

This hotel's location is genuinely brilliant, right in the city centre next to the Zhongshan subway and plaza, and for this price point, you really can't ask for better. The staff were friendly and helpful despite the language barrier (Google Translate sorted us out fine), and the cleaning team were lovely too. The room was decent and properly clean, I checked for dust and there wasn't any. However, the hotel is quite old, and there was some mould on the ceiling and in the bathroom and shower curtain. It didn't bother me personally, but worth noting, and a bit of spray would be great. That said, Dalian was incredibly humid when I visited in late August, so I suspect this is partly a climate issue. Even my own towels wouldn't dry properly. The place was quite busy, mainly Chinese customers, but they were quiet and discreet. Practical bits: they provide two bottles of water daily and disposable paper towels (which actually came in handy given the humidity). The room also had a washing machine (bring your own detergent) and you can hang clothes outside on the 9th floor veranda. There's a bus stop right outside with direct services to Xian Lu (shopping and basement food market) and the Transport University area night market, the subway goes straight to the airport, and you're walking distance from the main tourist spots like Russian Street, the old tram etc. Plenty of restaurants nearby too. And two convenience stores on ground floor. This place accepts foreign tourists and check-in was quick and easy. Internet was fast but slower in the evenings. Honestly, some of the complaints I've read here seem a bit harsh considering what you're paying. You get what you pay for, and at this price point in this location, I think it's fair value. I'd stay here again, especially if travelling on a budget. Thank you, we had a lovely time in Dalian!

I booked this hotel for my boyfriend and I for the National Day holiday. I know he likes being surrounded by nature since we live in the city. I also thought we would try playing golf (we didn't). We had a great time and even when we left the hotel for another hotel, my boyfriend wanted to go back. Pros 1. The bedroom was huge! 2. The scenery is breathtaking. 3. The staff is very friendly and helpful. 4. The food was delicious. Cons 1. The bedroom wasn't super clean. We found rat pellets by the window (at least that's what my boyfriend says. I think it could be lizards) 2. There are lots of activities that seem to be inactive due to renovations (possibly due to the covid era) but it seems they are working on restorations. All in all. I would definitely go back and when this hotel is in it's prime, it will be even more amazing!
