"Various issues. The room had a strong, unpleasant odor; I don't know what it was. There were no disposable slippers in the room; I had to ask at the front desk. Why wasn't this mentioned before check-in? After returning from my trip, I searched the room for ages but couldn't find them. I only found out after checking out and asking the front desk. They said disposable slippers were required, and the front desk isn't open 24 hours; I had to call them to get them to come out. Maybe this is a local issue. It's hard to give a proper review. It's true that the staff working late is unpleasant, but the room had no ventilation and smelled awful. Bad review. I never wanted to come back after this one visit. I didn't even stay; I just left my luggage there. Compared to other hotels in the same price range, there are much better options."

Next time we're in Dalian, the Shangri-La will definitely be our top choice again."

"My stay was quite disappointing. Around 10:30 PM on the 21st, I was already asleep when the room phone suddenly rang. It was a guest from another room who said they were trying to call the front desk. I reported this to the front desk, and they just casually dismissed it as a wrong number. The room's cleanliness was also subpar; the sheets and comforter had yellow saliva stains, clearly unwashed. The curtains were also a problem – pulling one side left a gap on the other, and pulling both sides still left a gap in the middle. The soundproofing was terrible; by 7 AM, I could already hear noisy sounds from the adjacent room. It was so loud that I couldn't rest without earplugs. The hotel pool was also packed with kids attending summer training."

"The hotel is conveniently located above a supermarket, with a snack street nearby. It's not far from Zhongshan Square, about a 15-minute walk. The cleanliness was acceptable; I'm quite particular about bathrooms, and this one met my standards with no strange odors. My only suggestion would be to change the showerhead setup – there's only an overhead one, which makes it impossible to shower without washing your hair."

"My stay here was fantastic! The room had great natural light and was incredibly clean, without any strange odors. It was well-equipped with air conditioning, a fridge, a desk, a TV, WiFi, and even a washing machine, and the room itself was very spacious. The soundproofing was excellent, so it was really quiet at night! The hotel felt very safe too. You can't use the elevator without a room card, and food deliveries go to a locker downstairs, so even solo travelers who are a bit wary can feel secure [happy face]. The location is superb, right next to a subway station, making travel super convenient. It's also very close to Dalian Station, within walking distance. Check-in and check-out were both quick and easy! I even asked how much it would cost to extend my stay by an hour, and the owner said it was no problem and wouldn't cost anything [rose][rose][rose]. The owner is incredibly kind. I had to leave unexpectedly and didn't have time to buy disposable bedding. I was thinking of bringing my own sheets but felt lazy and didn't want to carry them. I asked if they had any, and they gave me a disposable set for free! They even upgraded my room for free, and I could see a stunning sunrise right from my bed. The view and my mood were both perfect."

"The location is easy to find, and the interior is quite clean. Because of the unusually high temperature, the front desk generously provided an extra bottle of water. Unfortunately, the elevator was under maintenance when I checked out, and carrying my heavy suitcase downstairs was very difficult. It would have been great if the staff could have offered to help! The picture is a messy snapshot I took with the touchscreen while carrying the heavy items downstairs!"

The room was clean and tidy, and the view from the window of the Malan River was simply stunning. Overall, it was a truly amazing experience!"

"The location is super convenient! Downstairs, there's a Lawson convenience store and a highly-rated BBQ restaurant, and right next door is a luxury shopping mall. It's only a 10-minute walk to Zhongshan MRT station, which connects you to all the major attractions. Plus, a taxi to the airport takes just 20 minutes. The 24-hour butler service was incredibly responsive to all our requests, and the room service lady was very kind. The giant projector screen was a hit – the kids didn't want to leave the room!"

"This trip felt fantastic; I honestly think this is the best hotel in Dalian. The environment is great, very quiet, and the scenery is beautiful. From the restaurant, you can even see the large ships in Donggang (the 10:50 one from Gangdong 5th Street) and airplanes—the view is stunning! The privacy service is excellent. Adale, Kayla, Adele, Jane, and Evelyn provided wonderful service, which I really appreciate. It definitely meets the Four Seasons standard. I'll stay here again next time I visit Dalian."

"This was my second trip to Dalian, and I booked this hotel on Ctrip after seeing good reviews online. The hotel lobby is luxurious and grand, and the whole place is very clean. The front desk staff were polite and welcoming. We had dinner at the Chinese restaurant, and later received a surprise fruit platter in our room, which made us feel right at home. The fifth-floor garden platform felt like something out of Europe – truly memorable! If only there was an outdoor infinity pool, it would be absolutely perfect. I'll definitely be back."

A day before arrival, a butler proactively reached out to ask about my room preferences, and even though I arrived early, they immediately had a room ready for me. The room itself was fantastic, with unbeatable sea views and a perfect spot to watch the light show. It really put a perfect end to my somewhat rushed trip to Dalian. The nearby Xinghai Fishing Port had delicious food, but unfortunately, it was too hot during the day and packed with people at night. So, I woke up at 5 AM and took a stroll on the beach, getting a little taste of the city's scenery. Oh, and the swimming pool was great – not crowded at all, very clean, and there was a really comfortable hot tub to relax in and melt away the fatigue."

"Facilities: The hotel is a bit old, with a distinct vintage feel, but it's not run-down. Overall, it's pretty decent. However, for those who frequently stay in hotels, there might be a slight issue, as standard rooms don't have floor-to-ceiling windows. On the positive side, the bedding is quite new. Considering it opened in 2008, it's understandable. The executive lounge, though, offers an absolutely stunning view, overlooking the entire harbor. Hygiene: Most areas were very clean, and there were no odors or stains on the pillows, duvets, or mattresses. However, there was some white residue in the bathtub, which the hotel didn't clean thoroughly. Service: The service was very good, with quick response times. The check-in experience was also pleasant, with staff helping to carry luggage to the room, which was excellent! Environment: The environment is also good, and it's close to the subway station. Turn right out of the hotel, and you'll find Zhongshan Square, a nice spot to take friends or kids to see pigeons. Summary: If you don't mind its age, it's a good hotel. The hygiene is mostly fine, the facilities are functional, and the service is excellent. The breakfast is also quite distinctive, offering Dalian specialties like xiaolongbao, jianbing guozi, menzi, and sea cucumber rice. A few suggestions: the executive lounge's access control isn't very strict; they should have someone specifically guarding the entrance to prevent those without executive privileges from entering. Also, the curtains don't fully cover the windows, leaving gaps on both sides. And there should definitely be tissues on the bedside table, not just in the bathroom, as it's inconvenient. Side note: This hotel left a particularly deep impression on me because the room assigned to me upon check-in was a pleasant surprise. The hotel opened in 2008, and coincidentally, I was given room number 2008. It was a really great stay experience!"
