Mountain View Hotels in Dalian

I booked late, so I could only get a Quiet Room. The room was very clean, and the bedding was excellent. The front desk service was also good. This hotel has been open for many years. There are private rooms upstairs and a buffet downstairs. It's very close to the beach, and the Tongniu Mountain Scenic Area is right next to it. Overall, it was a great experience.

Location Advantages: Very close to Xinghai Square and the cross-sea bridge. There are two supermarkets downstairs, making it very convenient to buy whatever you need. Transportation: Very close to the subway station. When I was researching, I was worried that Dalian wouldn't have shared bikes, but taxis are incredibly cheap there, so I don't have to ride a bike anymore! Environment and Cleanliness: The room was very clean! The photos and pictures provided by the hotel are almost identical! Front Desk Customer Service: Professional, friendly, and responsive. They even upgraded us to a sea-view room, which felt very lucky.

I’ve lost count of how many times I've visited Dalian, but this is my first time in the Development Zone, and it might just become my favorite spot in Dalian. It has mountains and sea, great food and entertainment. It’s been years since I’ve seen a place so vibrant and full of energy. I'd give the hotel a 90/100. Perhaps the Marriott Fairfield Inn's customer profiling perfectly matched my needs – everything I needed was there, and none of the unnecessary frills. The room wasn't huge, but perfectly adequate. The TV supports screen mirroring, there's a computer and printer on the first floor, and breakfast was simple but complete – the eggs were so fresh they didn't even have an air cell (every day!). The laundry room was handy, and the gym was well-maintained. Initially, I worried about noise from the light rail downstairs, but it wasn't an issue at all. The soundproofing is even better than some similarly priced hotels; in two days, I only heard muffled voices from next door once. Compared to certain other brands (*cough* MoDu, Ji hotels *cough*), it's like they're practically whispering in your ear. There are tons of great restaurants near the hotel, and it's super convenient to get to the beach and Daheishan. I'm pretty sure I'll be staying here again on my next visit. Minor drawbacks: 1. I smelled cigarette smoke in the hallway a few times. If guests are allowed to smoke in their rooms, perhaps the public areas need more prompt smoke removal. 2. The gym equipment could use a wider variety of handle types. 3. Could the soy milk please be sugar-free by default?

While the hotel's decor and facilities are quite old, the sea view from the floor-to-ceiling windows in the 66th-floor lobby is still breathtaking when checking in. The young man who checked us in was also very enthusiastic, proactively introducing the hotel and room amenities. The transportation is quite convenient, being very close to Donggang Metro Station, and you can feed seagulls right outside the hotel by the sea. It's also very close and convenient to popular attractions like Donggang Music Fountain, Venice Water City, and Donggang Fifth Street. You don't have to fight the crowds at tourist spots, and you can see large ships from the beach right outside the hotel in the morning. Sitting in a seaside cafe and enjoying the sea view is also very pleasant. The two-bedroom suite is very suitable for families with children, as it's spacious and has a kitchen and refrigerator, allowing you to prepare some food. Housekeeping was also timely; the room was always clean and tidy when we returned each day. Now, after the positives, let me share the annoyances we experienced during our stay: 1. On the first day, housekeeping threw away one of my contact lenses. Luckily, I had a spare pair, otherwise, I would have been ”blind” for three days in Dalian. When guest relations called to inquire about our stay, they said it was because I didn't put it in a contact lens case but rather in its original disposable packaging. However, that's not a valid reason for you to throw away a guest's belongings. 2. The two bathrooms share a single storage-type water heater. Although we were informed of this upon check-in, it's really not a good experience for a group of four, after a day of sightseeing, to have to wait in line for the water to heat up to take a shower. Also, the shower water temperature in the master bedroom fluctuated wildly between scalding hot and icy cold, making my child cry! Later, they explained that other water sources shouldn't be used simultaneously when someone is showering, which was not mentioned to us during check-in. This makes it very inconvenient, meaning even if you have two showers, you can't use them at the same time. 3. For the first two days, we didn't need to swipe our room cards to go upstairs, but suddenly on the third day, we were told that the elevator required a room card, and our room cards actually didn't work! We had to go back to the 66th-floor lobby to get new cards. We were told this was because there were too many people in the previous two days, so they canceled the card swipe for the elevator? This seems like a safety concern. After checking out, an employee from guest relations called to ask about our stay, which shows you do care about the guest experience. However, after I explained the three points above, no feedback or compensation was offered. So, was the young lady just calling to listen to my complaints? Haha.

First, I stayed at the Grand Hyatt, then Yi Fang Castle. I had high expectations for the Grand Hyatt, but it was a letdown. I had no particular expectations for Yi Fang Castle, but it exceeded them by a lot. Driving up the mountain, as soon as you enter, you feel like you're on your way to a castle. The overall style is European palace-like, and both the lobby and outdoor garden are perfect for photos. Breakfast was also good. The front desk service was excellent, and the treasure hunt activity was really fun. This was my favorite hotel of the entire trip. If I had to give one piece of feedback, it would be to try changing the scent; the current fragrance smells a bit like cumin-flavored spicy strips.

Overall, the room by the sea offered a fantastic view. The room itself was also very clean and beautiful. It was incredibly therapeutic just to relax in the room and gaze at the scenery. However, it's important to note that there are no shops or amenities around the guesthouse. Breakfast starts late, at 8:30 AM, and there are restricted entry/exit hours during the early morning and late at night.

This stay was beyond my expectation! The room has a reasonable layout, great lighting, and simple and elegant decoration. The service team is professional and efficient, and they are meticulous from check-in to door-to-door delivery. The convenience store and coffee shop downstairs are a highlight, and it is quiet and comfortable at night. Full marks!

Now that my trip is over, I still want to review my stay. I chose this hotel because it was already in my favorites when I decided to visit Dalian. I picked it primarily for the scenic views, and indeed, the hotel's location and the room's view were quite good, and the staff service was okay. However, there were a few aspects that were rather mediocre. Firstly, the mattress and pillows. After a five-hour drive, I didn't get that comfortable, refreshing feeling when I lay down. The mattress even felt like it had a springy texture. For someone like us, who just wanted to relax at the hotel and explore a bit, this significantly impacted our travel experience. We stayed for four consecutive days, and every day felt like an endurance test; I even considered switching hotels for the last two days. Secondly, the shower. The overhead shower didn't work, so my 6'3” partner had to use the handheld showerhead, which was quite low, even for me. More importantly, the water temperature was unstable; for all four days, it kept fluctuating between hot and cold. Since showering isn't exactly the time to call for assistance, I just had to bear with it, dodging the water when it got too hot or too cold. Thirdly, breakfast and meals. Given the hotel's somewhat secluded location, I suggest they improve their dining options. On our first day, we had planned to enjoy a nice dinner, but there really weren't many choices. Also, for a resort hotel, breakfast ending at 9 AM is far too early. Even budget hotels like Hanting and Atour now serve until 10:30 or 11 AM. There were also some minor issues, like running out of complimentary water in the room. When we asked for more, the water provided wasn't the same brand as the original. Honestly, how much cost can they save by doing that? But it certainly detracts from the guest experience. I had initially hoped to make this hotel my go-to choice for future Dalian vacations, especially since it has its own small beach. I hope the owner collects guest feedback and focuses on optimizing the actual experience, especially considering the price point. This stay was definitely not as comfortable as the two days we spent in Shanhaiguan.

Excellent location, elegant and sophisticated decor, warm and attentive staff, cozy and bright rooms, clean and odor-free environment, and complete facilities.

I booked this hotel for my boyfriend and I for the National Day holiday. I know he likes being surrounded by nature since we live in the city. I also thought we would try playing golf (we didn't). We had a great time and even when we left the hotel for another hotel, my boyfriend wanted to go back. Pros 1. The bedroom was huge! 2. The scenery is breathtaking. 3. The staff is very friendly and helpful. 4. The food was delicious. Cons 1. The bedroom wasn't super clean. We found rat pellets by the window (at least that's what my boyfriend says. I think it could be lizards) 2. There are lots of activities that seem to be inactive due to renovations (possibly due to the covid era) but it seems they are working on restorations. All in all. I would definitely go back and when this hotel is in it's prime, it will be even more amazing!
