Guest UserI genuinely recommend this hotel; the overall quality far exceeded my expectations. The lobby is grand and spotless, creating a wonderful atmosphere that instantly brightens your mood upon entering. The guest rooms are a good size with a well-organized layout, and the washroom is clean and refreshing with a consistent and ample hot water supply. The front desk staff are patient and enthusiastic, always going the extra mile to help with any requests, providing truly heartwarming service. The hotel's hygiene is rigorously maintained, with every nook and cranny meticulously cleaned. The location offers convenient transportation, making it a stress-free and comfortable choice for your travels. Definitely my top pick!

Guest UserMy stay at the Lavande Hotel Dalian was fantastic! The location is excellent, making it super convenient for getting around, and the surrounding commercial area is well-developed, so dining and shopping were a breeze.
The room was spotless and odor-free, and the 'forest air purification system' made the air fresh and comfortable. The Mousse mattress was soft and supportive, ensuring a really sound sleep. The bathroom had a great wet/dry separation, and the Bluetooth speaker was a nice touch, making shower time incredibly relaxing.
The front desk staff were warm, attentive, and very responsive. Check-in and check-out were handled efficiently. The breakfast buffet offered a rich variety of options, both Chinese and Western, and everything was nutritious and delicious.
Overall, it offered great value for money, with attention to detail and a refined, quiet environment. It's perfect for both business and leisure travelers. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Dalian!

JoshuaLThe (apart)hotel is located steps away from the seaside and 东方水城 with plenty of eateries (but definitely less than what you get if staying at 中山广场 for example - we purposely chose to be close to the seaside here). The staff from bellboy to front desk/ cleaning staff is also eager to please with smiles all around, definitely pleasant interactions.
On the downside, there was a heavy smoke smell at the hallway leading to our unit, and upon confirmation with the staff working at the floor during the time, turns out that the person living next door is smoking 🥲 this smell did creep into our unit over time, which led me to request air purifier and open the windows to improve circulation. Also I need to turn *off* ventilation at the bathroom to prevent smoke smell. Luckily, the situation improved during our stay (so I decided against requesting to change units) since the occurrence of smoke smell became less (perhaps the resident checked out/ decided to smoke less?). Anyhow, this did damper our experience.
Also to note a service suggestion due to the smell I immediately requested a purifier unit, didn’t realize that there’s already one sitting in the unit. I also requested detergent since washing machine is available in the unit, didn’t realize that it’s readily available inside the bathroom. While the receptionist happily agreed to my request when I called to request the items (upon checking into my room), they could have also just informed me where they are located to avoid the redundant request. Also, perhaps the detergent should be placed visibly/ closer to the washing unit instead of being together with toothbrush etc inside the drawer in the bathroom - just a suggestion.
Breakfast offerings while great is also nothing to wow about (one of our main considerations for hotel selection is to look at breakfast pricing listed, which is 198 RMB in this case, which is on the higher end, so we were expecting some kind of a wow factor). Yes, the restaurant is located on the 67th floor offering nice view, but the spread is nothing to rave about - it’s your typical above average breakfast spread with additionally a little seafood selection. During our stay I did come across an offer to purchase breakfast for 108 RMB in one of the platforms, and I think the value is much closer to this rather than 198, so something worth calling out.
So all in all, good hotel with great location/ views/ staff - calling out the smoking issue (more of a people problem rather than hotel’s, but I would wish/ expect that indoor smoking should be non existent for 5-star establishments, which isn’t the case here), and secondarily the breakfast value. The shower issue (lower pressure/ time to heat) from other reviews is also real, but not a big deal for us.

XiangtaopaodewandouThe design and scenery are absolutely stunning, and the viewing platform is perfect for photos. The interior decor is also very grand and regal, which is beautiful. The staff were very quick to resolve any issues. However, I do have a few suggestions:
1. The family room breakfast portion should be increased. Most family rooms accommodate more than two people. Although the front desk offered a discount, paying 140 per day for breakfast, which was essentially just a bowl of noodles, isn't great value for money. We still went to breakfast to accompany the elders.
2. The playground management could be more considerate. We purchased a package that included playground access, but during our visit, some guests weren't aware that the playground charged a fee. When children entered and didn't want to leave, especially close to closing time, parents reluctantly had to buy tickets. Given that it's peak season for family travelers and room rates are already quite high, I believe the playground could offer free access during guests' stay, with perhaps some smaller, chargeable activities to generate revenue.
3. Breakfast could be further improved by adding more Dalian local specialties to make it more memorable.
Overall, I hope the hotel continues to improve, and I look forward to an even more satisfying stay next time.

Pang B BThis is my second time staying at this hotel, but unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the high standards set during my first visit.During my first stay, I was incredibly impressed by the outstanding hospitality of the front desk lady who assisted me. She personally accompanied me to my room to ensure everything was perfect, seamlessly arranged my taxi bookings, and made sure my transport arrived exactly on time. Her attention to detail made me feel valued.Regrettably, no one provided that level of care during this trip. The check-in process felt purely transactional—the front desk staff simply handed me my room key with no extra effort or welcoming gesture.I chose to return because of the exceptional service I received initially, but this second experience felt indifferent. I hope management can train all staff to deliver the consistent, high-quality service that made this hotel stand out in the first place.

Traveling during off-peak season, this hotel offers incredible value for money. The location is fantastic, making it super convenient for kids to go crabbing. The service is also excellent; it's so much better than the unhelpful one next door! A big thank you to 'Eason' (Chen Yixun) who brought us plenty of water when he saw we had a large group – it felt great to have all our requests met. There was also a very handsome manager who gave the kids fun toys. Overall, it provided a wonderful vacation experience. The hamburger and fish and chips were also great and very popular with the children.
On the first floor, there's even a DJI drone available for a test flight, which the kids loved.
The only downside is that because it's so close to the sea, the bedding can be a bit damp. If you're traveling with small children, you might want to bring your own sheets.

Anonymous UserI was very satisfied with my trip to Dalian, especially the accommodation. Initially, I was worried that Shangri-La, being an older five-star hotel, might have outdated facilities. However, upon arrival, I found the hotel facilities to be very well-maintained, and the service experience was excellent – truly befitting a five-star hotel. I had originally booked a one-bedroom apartment, but the lobby manager kindly upgraded us to a two-bedroom apartment for free, seeing that I had many family members with me. We only realized the free upgrade once we got to the room, which was a pleasant surprise for my family and me; we even thought we had gone to the wrong room at first, haha. I'd also like to specially commend Ms. Yara from the hotel. After check-in, she proactively added me on WeChat to help me with a delivery, was always available to assist with any issues, and even gave my baby a cute little bear, which my baby absolutely loves and carries everywhere. Since we were traveling with a small child, the hotel also provided a bed rail. Additionally, the hotel has two playgrounds (one large, one small) and a swimming pool, so there's no need to worry about the baby getting bored. The breakfast was also very lavish, and both adults and children enjoyed it immensely. All in all, Shangri-La Hotel did not disappoint me. I highly recommend it to families traveling with children!

This was my second time choosing this hotel for a layover because it's close to the airport. Last year's stay was great, the price was reasonable, and the receptionist was very friendly and attentive. This year, I booked a standard double room. When I arrived, the receptionist said the window was an interior view window facing the corridor. Since I need a window in my room, I asked how much an exterior view window would cost. I think booking directly through Ctrip usually costs an extra 40+ RMB. Of course, I didn't expect the hotel to upgrade for free, so I asked the receptionist how much extra it would cost. She looked at the computer screen with a calculating expression and said, ”Add 99 RMB.” I said, ”Oh? Isn't it only 40+ RMB?” Then they asked for my ID. I didn't say whether I needed it or not. Seeing that I didn't react, they didn't look at me, still looking at the screen, and said, ”Okay, here's 49 RMB.” I said, ”No need. The original room is fine.” This is supposed to be a proper hotel, but upgrading a room is like a free market?
The TV remote was covered in a thick layer of dust, probably because it wasn't used often and the staff hadn't cleaned it properly. I pressed a button and the TV turned on, but then the remote stopped working. I opened the back cover and saw that the batteries were chewed up and bent out of shape – I wonder how long ago it was? Was it a previous guest or a staff member?
My flight was at 7:30 the next day, so I asked the front desk for a 5:00 wake-up call. The receptionist was very responsible. The hotel doesn't offer airport shuttle service before 7:00, so I hailed a taxi outside the hotel. It was easy to get a taxi.

Guest UserThe hygiene was good. However, the service and facilities were quite disappointing. First, the facilities aren't just old; the air conditioning wasn't cooling the room at all, making it too hot. Plus, the AC was incredibly noisy. Even the closet light made a loud buzzing sound. This is the first time I've encountered a hotel like this. After the first day's cleaning, the water and tea bags weren't replenished, but they were brought to my room after I called and asked for them.
