MM278948****The B&B owner was very welcoming and helped me with my luggage. They also recommended places to eat and things to do. You can tell a lot of thought went into the room facilities, and the cleanliness was excellent. The B&B is located inside Erhai Park, which has a playground and animals to see, so the kids had a great time. There's even a swing at the B&B that the kids didn't want to leave! 😂 The owner was really nice; they recommended we visit Wenbi Village and even suggested accommodation there since we hadn't decided on our plans for the next few days. They told us we could go check out the place first before deciding. Overall, it's highly recommended!

ZZanjiadesanbaoThis hotel is absolutely stunning. In bustling Dali, finding such an oasis of tranquility is truly a rare gem. Even just unwinding on the balcony is pure bliss. The hotel also has an incredibly adorable, well-behaved, chubby cat! I absolutely adored my stay here. I only wish I had booked for longer; I'll definitely extend my stay next time. It completely surpassed all my expectations.
During peak season, I'd highly recommend avoiding Shuanglang – it's too noisy and congested. Stay here instead; it feels like you have Erhai Lake all to yourself. Seriously, you *must* book this hotel (and for more than a couple of nights if you can!), you won't regret it!

The panoramic window offers breathtaking views, with an unobstructed, unbeatable vista of the Cangshan Mountains and Erhai Lake from the high floor.
The hotel's location is excellent, convenient for getting to both Haidong and Haixi. We had a driver pick us up from the train station, and then a butler helped us with our luggage to the entrance of the complex.
I chatted with the owner, and almost all the guest reviews are glowing. Even though it's been open for 3 years, it's still maintained like new and is very clean. They provide a full range of disposable toiletries, and even a dryer!
Fruits and drinks are all-you-can-drink. Breakfast and a drop-off service are included, and the butler was very enthusiastic in helping us with travel tips and explaining our self-guided tour itinerary.
All in all, it's a 10/10 recommendation, full of pleasant surprises, and the price is absolutely unbelievable. It's the GOAT!

YYuki Serene AngI had an extremely enjoyable stay at Mr Ma’s accommodation. From the moment we arrived, he greeted us with genuine warmth and sincere hospitality. Throughout our stay, he assisted us with every need and often went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable. We loved our time here so much that we extended our stay to a total of six nights!
We were deeply touched by his generosity and the thoughtfulness he showed every single day. Each morning, he checked in on us, asked if we had slept well, and made sure we had everything we needed. This is a family-run accommodation, and every member of the Ma family was friendly, warm, and welcoming. Mr Ma even took special care to accommodate my daughter’s cat allergy by keeping their cats away from the common areas — a gesture we truly appreciated.
One of the highlights of our stay was the meaningful conversations we shared with the family. We exchanged stories about our respective countries, shared insights about our cultures, and learned so much from one another. These heartfelt chats made our stay feel even more personal, and we genuinely enjoyed connecting on a deeper level beyond the usual host–guest interactions.
The room facilities were excellent — warm blankets, electric heating pads, newly installed air-conditioners, towels, a hair dryer, and a kettle. And every morning, we were greeted with a comforting bowl of noodles lovingly prepared by Mrs Ma — such a heartwarming way to start the day.
The location is ideal as well: close to the bustling streets and ancient town, with the mountains and lake just nearby. We enjoyed sitting on the top-floor balcony in the cool, crisp morning air, taking in the peaceful mountain views. Mrs Ma also shared wonderful food recommendations, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed.
During our stay, we met international travellers from France, and the Ma family communicated effortlessly using translation apps. It’s clear they have plenty of experience hosting guests from around the world. We also made a short trip to Lijiang, arranged through Mr Ma’s recommendation — a comfortable 9-seater car that picked us up directly from the accommodation and dropped us off at our next destination.
I highly, highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting the area. I am deeply grateful for the kindness and warmth shown to us throughout our stay — right up until the moment we left, when Mr Ma personally helped us with our luggage.
Before you leave, be sure to take a photo with the family, and don’t miss the chance to chat with Mr Ma’s son, who is very eager to practise English with travellers.

地理位置也非常方便：靠近苍山,三月街 ,大里古城，耳海，周围就是山景与湖景。我们特别喜欢每天清晨坐在顶楼阳台，吹着清凉的晨风，欣赏宁静的山景。马太太还推荐了几家美食，我们都吃得非常满意。
在这里，我们还遇到了来自法国的旅客，马家人通过翻译软件和他们沟通毫无障碍，可见他们接待国际旅客的经验十分丰富。我们也根据马先生的推荐去了丽江——是宽敞舒适的九座车，从民宿直接接送，非常方便。
我真心、强烈地推荐这家民宿给前来旅行的朋友们。我非常感谢他们在我们整个旅程中给予的善意与温暖，甚至直到离开的那一刻，马先生仍亲自帮我们搬运行李。

ZZhuozhuangchengzhangdeguziThe room was as excellent as ever. Having just come from a fantastic stay at Anyu Hotel in Lijiang, I had no hesitation in choosing Anyu again for my visit to Dali. Dali Anyu is nestled within the ancient city, offering convenient access to transportation. The entire hotel beautifully captures the essence of Dali, providing a serene, welcoming, and high-end atmosphere. Though not large, this charming three-story wooden hotel exudes a strong retro and ethnic vibe. Staying here felt incredibly peaceful, immediately shielding us from the ancient city's hustle and bustle.
The staff were incredibly warm and attentive. Upon my arrival, I initially had trouble finding the entrance, but a staff member promptly came out to greet me, helped carry my luggage directly to the room, and even presented a lovely welcome tea ceremony. Every member of the Anyu team, from the dedicated butler to the general service staff, greeted us with warm smiles and soft-spoken kindness. Their hospitality made us feel truly cherished, as if we were guests in our own home.
Inside the room, the amenities had a charming retro design, complemented by high-end, incredibly comfortable bedding that invited immediate sleep. The toiletries were top-notch, alongside a Dyson hairdryer, premium mineral water, and an exquisite laundry service. In the evenings, they thoughtfully provided Tremella soup, known for its calming properties. Every detail contributed to a truly warm and cozy stay. A charming, distinctive touch was the room key – a long-handled, retro-style key. Room cleanliness was impeccable, far surpassing similar hotels; even the smallest crevices in the bathroom were spotless.
Another highlight was the afternoon tea and breakfast. They were truly bespoke, freshly prepared upon order – absolutely no pre-made dishes or buffet lines. Everything was served individually, featuring fresh, unique, high-quality, hygienic, and delicious ingredients. I was even delighted to find sea cucumber on the menu! Upon departure, all the Anyu staff came out to bid me a warm farewell – a truly wonderful and memorable gesture. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit!

LLixiaobaoI was initially concerned that the Xiaomei King Room, which lacked air conditioning, would be hot and small. However, it was nothing of the sort – it was absolutely stunning, and the service was impeccable! My elderly companion did mention that the noise from duvets being washed at night made it difficult for her to fall asleep. Despite this, overall, we were very pleased. I had planned to visit the wetland park for the sunset, but a staff member advised there was no need, as we could enjoy the view directly from their property! They even provided a complimentary farewell gift upon our departure!

Service: Absolutely outstanding, deserves special praise. My husband needed to work, and they provided a height-adjustable laptop desk. For my back pain, they offered a hot water bottle, along with extra hangers, an extension cord, and more.

SshunshunmamaThe entire guesthouse feels like a French manor, facing Erhai Lake with beautiful blue skies and white clouds. The environment is absolutely stunning! The service was even better, with the housekeeper contacting us a day in advance and providing meticulous care throughout our stay. From helping with luggage to driving us out for meals, they even thoughtfully prepared facial masks for the ladies in the room, perfect for Dalian's dry plateau sun. The complimentary afternoon tea was superb; the coffee beans were of good quality, with a pleasant mild acidity and aroma. The cake was substantial and delicious. Sitting in the coffee shop, overlooking Erhai Lake, we had a delightful afternoon. The travel photography service was excellent too – beautiful scenery combined with a dedicated photographer made for a really enjoyable experience! Overall, we were extremely satisfied with this stay!

GGuest UserThe Mogu House Inn has been a great place to stay where it is located very near to the Dali Ancient City, which is in fact a haven of shopping and dining in a traditional way.
The distance to the ancient city is about 100meters away and easily accessible.
Let's start with the first day where we arrived at Dali railway station and took DiDi cab to the inn, which is about 30mins ride. The location of the inn is actually housed inside a coffee cafe and it is along a gentle slope where the road is manageable for the luggages. So no problem moving about.
Upon arrival, the inn owner will welcome you and help to carry in the luggages for the whole family. Much appreciate their help.
The breakfast is linked to another building, which is also co-owned by the owners and I must say the noodles are great! Yummy and had 2 bowls each meal. Do remember to get a meal voucher before proceeding to the dining hall.
The room is pleasantly nice and clean with smart voice activated services such as temperature control and curtain adjustment. Although the room I booked is on the second floor, it is just short steps upwards.
The inn also provide self laundry services which is located at the top floor. It is a washer and heat pump dryer system where the detergent is self dispensed. So no worries that u run out of clothing. In fact, fresh clothing's every day where the dryer really dried it to a crisp.
At the end of stay, we wanted to book transport to lijiang and the owners clearly help us a lot and the price is very reasonable and save a lot of hassles for us.
All in all, thank u so so much!!

TT.W.LBooked the family room at courtyard level as I had elderly and wanted an accommodation which is easy to access. I also did not want to be hoisting luggages up and down and over cobbled streets in the old town and somewhere along the city wall so it is easy to start our tour of the sights around Dali in the morning.
Room: Simple efficient clean layout with open concept. Rooms are relatively new. Sink area is located outside the bathroom which is good. The beds are hard in my opinion but elder felt the bed was comfortable. Bottled water was provided everyday (left outside our door). Room Temperature control was ok and the hot water for the shower heated up quick and could maintain at a stable level which is a plus unlike some other hotels in Yunnan.
There is flight of 3-4 steps to room which is manageable for our elder as the room is slightly raised above the courtyard. We had an early check-in as the room was ready. The staff helped us move the luggages to our room. You could also book the entire courtyard for larger groups. The owner is building additional new rooms in the annex but the construction happens during the day and it is not noisy as most guests would be out.
Location:
It is near the South Gate (there is a local market nearby check the maps or ask the owner) and our local driver could stop right outside our accommodation.
We didn’t get breakfast from the bnb as there were food shops offering noodles, congee and fried dumplings around that open early at 7am. You can also make your way to the local market near the gate. You could also go up the South Gate for free to catch the sunrise or sunset view.
Touring around Dali
If you can comms in Chinese, you could message the owner ahead to assist to arrange for a car transfer from Dali Fengyi Airport or the Dali Railway station to the BnB. It cost RMB50 for us from the Railway station to the BnB. You could also arrange with him for a day driver to take you around the sight seeing places around Dali /Erhai Lake, Mt Cang or a driver to send you to Lijiang. We felt was more efficient and relaxing with an elder. It took ~3h drive instead of travelling south to the Dali train station to ride the train to Lijiang and finding a cab from Lijiang railway to the old Lijiang ancient city.
You could also easily catch a Didi or a cab which could be cheaper. A cab/car ride to the 3 Chong Sen Temple pagodas was about 10rmb for 3-4pax which is comparable to waiting for Bus 4 which cost 3rmb per pax.
