Rooms are old and dirty! Staff are not welcoming or friendly ! Rooms look nothing like the online photos! Our room was so old and not clean! Bathroom was unhygienic- grout in shower/bath was disgusting and full of black mould! Bathplug even hung on old rubber band and all black and mouldy! Hot and cold water on basin mixed up! Can only use the kettle if you unplug the fridge! Beds are well used! We arrived in the evening following my fathers funeral and if we had a choice we would have left! Borrowed a hairdryer but need to supply your own adapter. Had to ask for another towel as only had one - towels are also well used and grey. No mirror other than the one in the bathroom - so difficult to dry hair and apply make up. Strange door in the bathroom which has access to the laundry - which also looks disgustingly untidy and dirty! I have travelled all over the world and this one is definitely the worst place I have ever stayed.

Hajo and staff were amazing and accommodation throughout. Always diligent and pro-active for timelines and plans. Rooms were nice and clean. In general it is a bit more outside of the city, which in turn also means that it is quiet and safe. There is also a mall 3min away by foot and it has got everything you need. It might do well with an inverter for load shedding, but to be fair we were also experiencing an unusual frequency, so it was more noticeable than it would be normally.

The hotel is in a good environment, the hotel is small but very refined. There is a swimming pool in the yard and there are a lot of green plants. The interior of the room is also very good. wifi is not limited.

I left The Grand Blue D with a heavy heart. Needless to say this was a much needed breakaway and this establishment did not disappoint. On arrival I was welcomed by Ellen and escorted straight to my room . From the moment I arrive I could sense the peace and tranquility this place had to offer. The room was crisp and modern and I could not wait to just soak in the tub and lay my head down. An added welcome by the host was much appreciated and the little Yorkie named Jordan was indeed good company. My two day stay was most enjoyable . I would recommend this place if you need to rejuvenate and reconnect . Thank you

Excellent in every way. What you see in the photos is exactly what you get. Wonderful stay, very impressed and would definitely use again as my first choice if in Cape Town. Excellent location with Mall 5 minute walk away and town, waterfront, Plumstead all only £5 taxi ride away (working on 22 ZAR to £) Thank you once more would highly recommend.
