We had a great stay at Country Inn by Radisson in Dali and would happily stay here again. It offers excellent value for money, very friendly service, and clean, comfortable rooms in a convenient location. Location: The hotel is around a 10-minute Didi ride from Dali Ancient City, the Three Pagodas, and the Old Tea Horse Trail and 15min ride to Longkan Pier, making it easy to explore the main attractions on the West side. There are also plenty of convenient shared rental scooters available outside each morning, and taxis arrive quickly. Room & Cleanliness: Before arriving, we requested a non-smoking room. Our original room was still undergoing a smoke removal treatment, so the staff kindly upgraded us to one of their ”Pure Stay” rooms on the second floor. It was also much quieter, which was appreciated as I needed to work during our stay. The room was clean, spacious, had no smoke smell at all and even had an air purifying system. The hotel feels very new and is well maintained all lights and curtains in the room can be controlled with smart panels. The bed was soft and comfortable, with thick, good-quality duvets that made for a great night's sleep. The air conditioning was excellent and a welcome relief from the summer heat, keeping the room cool and comfortable throughout our stay. The bathroom was equally clean, with an automatic flushing toilet featuring a built-in UV sanitiser as part of the Pure Stay room. The shower had excellent water pressure, and as someone with very long, thick hair, I was pleasantly surprised about the quality of the shampoo and conditioners. Service The service was one of the highlights of our stay. The front desk staff were consistently warm, welcoming, and eager to help. A special thank you to the two gentlemen at reception who went above and beyond to communicate with us, organise the room upgrade, and even print several work documents for me free of charge. We were also welcomed with a small gift at check-in, which was a thoughtful touch. Facilities: The hotel has a lovely garden with several attractive spots for holiday photos. There is a convenient 24-hour tea and coffee station in the lobby, as well as a large power bank rental station before heading out for the day. The only small suggestion would be to also provide coffee sachets in the guest rooms for added convenience. The complimentary WiFi is an open network, which is a bit risky. It was a little slow for heavier work tasks but was perfectly adequate for normal browsing and everyday use. Breakfast: Breakfast was the only area that did not quite match the rest of our experience. There was a reasonable selection, but we found it fairly basic, particularly for international travellers, and chose to have breakfast elsewhere on our second morning. Overall: This hotel offers excellent value, outstanding cleanliness, genuinely helpful staff, and a convenient location for exploring Dali. If you are looking for a comfortable, modern hotel with friendly service, I would happily recommend staying here.

The third-floor observation deck offers an amazing panoramic view. From here, you can see the entire ancient Wuhualou city, with its staggered ancient buildings and crisscrossing streets clearly visible. The full panorama of the ancient city is laid out before you, making it a hidden gem for enjoying the scenery and taking photos. There's no need to go outside the city to find a viewpoint; you can enjoy the complete view of the ancient city right from the hotel, which is a truly unique viewing experience.

Heartwarming Service but Disappointing Room Layout & Location 1. Amazing Staff Support: • As foreigners without Chinese phone numbers, we couldn't rent the ”Snoopy” electric cars. The staff went above and beyond, using their own accounts to scan, pay, and even remotely lock/unlock the cars for us throughout the day. They even handled the return process when there were technical issues. • Flexible Service: They were kind enough to serve breakfast at 8:00 AM (30 minutes earlier than scheduled) to accommodate our early plans. ＞＞＞ The staff here are the biggest plus. They were incredibly welcoming, enthusiastic, and supported us throughout our stay in Dali. Whether it was helping with our heavy luggage or providing local recommendations, their hospitality was genuine and much appreciated. 2. Room Layout: Not as Expected We booked a ”2-bedroom suite,” but it was actually two separate rooms with private entrances and no shared indoor area. The second room was extremely small; with two large suitcases open, there was almost no space to move. The photos on the listing were quite misleading regarding this separate layout. 3. Location & Accessibility The homestay is in a quiet, isolated area with no shops or restaurants within walking distance. You have to take a taxi for everything (5–30 mins to major attractions), which adds significant costs to your trip. ===＞ While the people here are wonderful, the high price doesn't quite match the room's convenience and location. Best suited for those who don't mind taking taxis and want a quiet stay.

This time, I brought my child to Dali for a week-long study tour and chose to stay at the Mercure Hotel on Cang'er Avenue. Two years ago, I stayed at a guesthouse by Erhai Lake, but this time I opted for a hotel at the foot of Cangshan Mountain. I must say, this was an absolutely fantastic choice. First off, the location is central for visiting Dali, offering a quiet escape from the bustle. There's no greasy smell from a food street, and during the day, Cang'er Avenue is lively with people taking travel photos. Yet, it's incredibly peaceful at night; you definitely won't find it noisy despite being on an avenue. Moreover, as a chain hotel, the service, offerings, and room cleanliness were all impeccably managed. Very satisfied! At check-out, they even gave thoughtful gifts: flower cakes, a fridge magnet, and tea! If I get the chance again, I wouldn't hesitate to choose Mercure Hotel again.

🌲 Dali Cangshan Oxygen Retreat | Living in This Forest, I Kicked My Phone Addiction🍃 Seriously, I'm so grateful! The biggest surprise of my Dali trip wasn't the ancient city or Erhai Lake, but this forest B&B nestled halfway up Cangshan Mountain 🌿. As we drove up from the city, the urban hustle and bustle slowly faded, replaced by lush greenery and the sound of pine trees swaying in the wind. 🌄 **The Rooftop is Pure Soul:** I was absolutely stunned the moment I stepped onto the rooftop – the nineteen peaks of Cangshan Mountain stood behind me like a majestic screen, with the entire Erhai Lake and scattered Bai ethnic villages stretching out below. The Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple were faintly visible. In the morning, drawing back the curtains revealed a sea of rolling clouds. In the evening, I'd sit on the swing chair on the terrace, watching the sunset paint Erhai Lake a honeyed gold 🍯. At night, a glance upwards showed the Milky Way so clearly it brought tears to my eyes ✨. 🌿 **Immersive Mountain Living:** Hydrangeas were in full bloom in the courtyard, and dappled sunlight filtered through the treetops onto the wooden floors. The natural wood-toned room had floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides, making it feel like sleeping right in the forest 🌲. There were also three resident cats, each with their own unique personality, taking turns on patrol. This stay exceeded my expectations! The guesthouse is in a great location, very convenient for getting around, and there are plenty of dining and shopping options nearby. The room was spotless and well-maintained in every corner. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and all the toiletries were well-stocked. The overall decor was cozy and stylish, creating a wonderful atmosphere. All the appliances were fully equipped and worked perfectly. The host was warm and friendly, communicated promptly, and provided clear check-in instructions, responding quickly to any issues. The common areas were kept very clean, and the privacy was also excellent. It looks exactly like the pictures, offers great value for money, and I felt safe and relaxed during my stay. It's perfect for both short trips and longer stays. I'd definitely choose this place again next time and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for accommodation!

I booked this place after reading the reviews about the above and beyond service, and the connection that guests were able to make with the owner of the accommodation. When there are hundreds of hotels to choose from, I value getting to know the humans behind a business. Unfortunately during my stay the main owner whom the reviews refer to, was away. The staff that was in place was helpful, but I felt gave me the one simplest solution to any question I had, rather than the best possible solution, or even options, for what I needed help with. I probably had an anomaly of an experience. The room was spacious and fairly clean. There was a bathroom window in the room that had no blinds or curtains, and the courtyard lights would stream into the room past 10pm, which meant that the room was not completely dark. I included a photo - the light is a lot more obvious and pervasive in a dark room. I had to sleep with an eye mask on, which thankfully, I had. I would suggest to the owners to put a curtain or some blinds up in the bathroom window. I would still recommend this hotel for its quiet location and proximity to the ancient city (8-10yuan Didi ride). Hopefully you'll have the lady boss around during your stay.

This is a new hotel conveniently located right by National Highway 214, very close to the South Gate of the ancient city and Cang'er Avenue. There are many famous restaurants nearby, as well as a great convenience store for snacks. The soundproofing is excellent, and ordering takeout is super easy. The coffee at the front desk is delicious, and the beds are so comfortable for a great night's sleep. It's incredibly clean and hygienic – truly the most comfortable hotel I've stayed at in Dali, and it's affordable too! Plus, there's plenty of parking and self-service laundry, which is a huge bonus.

Little Red Book (a popular Chinese social media platform) truly lived up to its reputation – this is a gem of a guesthouse! The location, facilities, cleanliness, environment, and views are all superb! The owner is a young man, and communication was effortless; we got along very well, and he even made tea for us. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious, with excellent facilities. The mahjong machine was particularly impressive. In Dali, it's sunny during the day and rainy at night, so staying in the room, enjoying the fruit provided by the front desk, and playing mahjong was incredibly pleasant. The scenery is also absolutely stunning, with views of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake! Highly recommended!

The owner is a practical, caring, and thoughtful lady. She recommends nearby attractions and delicious restaurants, and even helps call a taxi if you can't find one. The owner's mother makes a delicious breakfast and is incredibly kind, even giving us freshly picked pears. We were several families staying together, and while it was noisy and demanding, the owner was always so patient and attentive. The location is also great, making it convenient to everything. The room was clean and the maid was very kind. I love this place and will return again and recommend it to friends.
