Staying here felt like stepping back in time. This beautiful 500 year old house gives you the feeling of traveling hundreds of years into the past while still being comfortable and welcoming. The architecture, atmosphere, and details make it feel like being inside a movie. The rooms are beautiful, clean, . Every corner of the house feels special and creates such a peaceful and unique experience. What made my stay even better was the kindness of the people here. I’m traveling across China by bike, and I asked if it would be possible to leave my bike here while I continue my trip and return several days later. They were incredibly helpful and kindly agreed, which I really appreciated. The location is also excellent perfect for walking around Xizhou Ancient Town and exploring the area. This place is much more than just a hotel; it’s an experience. I enjoyed it so much that I’ll be coming back in a few days to stay one more night before continuing my journey home. I highly recommend staying here if you want a beautiful, peaceful, and memorable experience.

The B&B is right in Xizhou Ancient Town, facing rice (or wheat) fields. The room was very cozy, and the front desk lady was incredibly detailed and helpful with navigation and travel tips. She even upgraded our room! The best part was waking up to see the rice fields and a small train right outside our window, and enjoying a delicious breakfast with a view from the rooftop. It was pure bliss! The fruit provided in the room was also super fresh; one mango was exceptionally fragrant. I carried it with me the whole next day while exploring the ancient town, completely forgetting to ask where they bought it, haha. But it made for a wonderfully happy mood~

Years ago, when I first visited Dali, I heard the story of Mr. Linden and this old mansion and always dreamed of staying here to experience it firsthand. This time, I finally fulfilled that wish, and I was even lucky enough to meet Mr. Linden in the courtyard! When he learned we were from Nanjing, he happily told us he had studied at the中美文化交流中心 (Sino-American Culture Exchange Center) at Nanjing University in '87 and '88, and had many fond memories of Nanjing. This instantly made us marvel at the wonders of fate – Mr. Linden's timeless encounter with this old mansion, and our own timeless encounter with Mr. Linden and this mansion. So, this isn't just a house or a hotel; it's a spiritual home, a place of shared understanding for Mr. Linden and his guests, our collective beautiful home! The 'Old Mansion Exploration' and 'Market Stroll' activities were excellent, and our guide was wonderful! I regret missing out on the afternoon tea, but the restaurant's dishes were delicious, and the breakfast's Ersi noodles and beef with rice were also fantastic!

Facilities: Well-equipped and in good condition, the rooms are spacious, bright, and comfortable. Cleanliness: Both the room and bathroom were clean and tidy. Environment: Located right in Xizhou Ancient Town, all attractions are within walking distance. The guesthouse courtyard is large and boasts distinctive local ethnic characteristics. Service: They helped with luggage, provided local tour information, and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. There's also a tie-dye workshop available for guests to experience at any time.

It’s a cozy guesthouse hotel with beautiful Bai architecture on the exterior and renovated modern interiors. The room was very comfortable & clean with a huge king bed that can easily accommodate 3 adults!! Their service was impeccable - proactive, friendly & polite. Even after check out, they helped us a lot. The breakfast was a local Yunnan set meal with Xizhou baba, baozi etc. They also offer free afternoon tea with snacks, evening drinks, and local snacks as checkout gift. Due to traffic restrictions, car or taxi cannot enter Xizhou village. The hotel arranged pick up and drop off to the nearest parking lot and they contacted us in advance to arrange the same. The location is very convenient, at the center of the village with wheat fields right next door. Restaurants are also nearby but local cuisine is spicy. Overall, we were very happy and satisfied. Will surely return if get the opportunity.

Dali Xizhou was such a pleasant surprise! The ancient town is lovely to stroll around and very close to Erhai Lake. The facilities are all brand new, and the rooms are unique, like small two-story houses. The soundproofing is excellent too. The hotel even offers breakfast, late-night snacks, and fruit. I ordered one breakfast, and the front desk gave me another one for free! The service attitude was absolutely fantastic. When I had to climb stairs, the young lady at the front desk even helped me carry my bags up. Great service and a great location – excellent value for money! You can even store your luggage before leaving, and parking is free. The security guard even helped us with directions. Highly recommend, I'll definitely stay here again next time!

Absolutely loved this rice paddy B&B! The location is incredible, with rice fields right outside the window. The rooms are spacious, and the ground floor rooms even have direct access to the lush greenery. It was such a comfortable stay – the room was clean and odor-free, and the environment was so peaceful. The front desk lady was super helpful; she contacted us beforehand with directions and answered all our questions. During the day, I enjoyed coffee on the third-floor terrace (they serve coffee right here, no need to go to a separate cafe!), feeling the breeze from the rice paddies and gazing at the fields – it was incredibly relaxing! The nights were quiet, ensuring a great night's sleep. This place truly delivered a full vacation vibe. I'll definitely stay longer next time.

I highly recommend this amazing guesthouse – it's truly a healing and comforting place! The moment you step into the room, you're enveloped in a warm and cozy atmosphere; it feels like coming home. What amazed me most was the incredible balcony. During the day, sitting there, you can enjoy panoramic views of the ever-changing clouds over Cangshan Mountain; at night, pull up a chair, and look up at the starry sky – it's incredibly romantic. Time seems to slow down here. I'll definitely stay here again next time! And importantly, the owner is a wonderful person and incredibly handsome!!!

This accommodation is great value for money! I had a very nice room with double bed and view on to the fields. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The location is great, because it’s a bit outside the bustling touristic old town and thus very quiet. Still, there are lots of nice restaurants close by and a shop where you can rent bikes.

My first trip to Dali was made even better by choosing Xizhou Daoyin, a hotel with a personal touch, instead of the noisy Dali Ancient City. The hotel's location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk from the Zhuanjiao Building. From the rooftop in the morning, you can witness a breathtaking sunrise, gazing at the golden wheat fields and Cangshan Mountain – it's truly rejuvenating. The air conditioning in the room actually cooled, unlike other hotels I've stayed at where the AC was on but I was still sweating. The shower had great water pressure, making every shower comfortable. Since it's close to the fields, there are more mosquitoes and insects at night, so be sure to keep the doors and windows closed. There's a group of chickens in front of the hotel, but thankfully, their crowing is gentle and never woke up my husband. What impressed me most was Daoyin's butler service. Of all the hotels I've stayed in, I've never encountered such meticulous service. From the moment I booked, the butlers were incredibly helpful in answering my questions, essentially replying instantly on WeChat. I didn't even need to ask; they proactively offered assistance. What surprised me was that there were several butlers, and even though we saw different ones in the morning and evening after being out all day, they all knew about our request to change towels from that morning. Before I could even mention it, they immediately brought them over. I honestly believe that this level of communication isn't something every hotel's butler service can achieve. A big thank you to all the butlers at Daoyin, especially A-bian. Although we didn't talk much, I felt a strong sense of warmth. Daoyin is a hotel I will definitely recommend to my friends.
