The hotel was clean. It's what you expect from Ibis international brand. The rooms were clean, breakfast buffet was superb with many options of both hot and cold items. The lobby, restaurant, and lounge was all nicely renovated and modern. It's close walking distance to several malls and restaurants. We chose this hotel because it was in a busy area but close to the international school where our children had a basketball tournament. Dinner options were great at the nearby Marmara Park Mall.
My biggest complaint was the check-in process. I checked in with my 13-year old daughter. Upon check-in, they asked for passport or local identity card. I had mine in my wallet, but i forgot my daughter's. Usually, in hotels in Turkey, if you forget to bring it, they ask you to show a copy. I showed them on my phone a copy of her id. But it took so long for the check-in person to make phone calls and verify if this was okay. First of all, nowhere in any of the confirmation emails did it say we needed to bring this, especially for a minor. And it took way too long for us to get our room key and check-in. I don't know what they would have done? Were they gonna ask my 13-year-old daughter to sleep outside, or in the lobby? Even if I didn't have a copy, they should have gone above and beyond in customer service to allow her to stay. I personally know that they just need her identity details to report every night to the authorities who is staying in their hotel. They can easily try to work with me and make us feel comfortable. My other complaint was the speed of the wifi in my room. Several times, there was no connection, or I got kicked off, and had to login again. Don't expect great streaming on your devices in this hotel.
