"The room was quite large and well-maintained.
However, the toilet still had a lingering old pipe smell.
The bed was fairly comfortable.
The water pressure was sufficient.
I discovered the air conditioner in the room was broken.
After the staff inspected it, they changed me to a different room.
The air conditioner there was cool enough.
However, after adjusting the temperature, it only blew out weak air.
I had to turn it off and on again, and avoid adjusting the temperature midway. I chose 22 degrees Celsius, which felt just right."
"This Hotel is fantastic and I’d absolutely stay here again.
The onsen on the top floor features a large communal bath and a sauna.
The bed is very comfortable and there’s also a mini fridge for chilling drinks.
They have a self service Laundry with separate dryers on the ground floor next to the rather unused Internet lounge.
The breakfast in the morning was very filling with a great variety of soups, salads, congee, breads and proteins.
It’s only a short stroll to Hiroshima Station for a great range of local delicacies like Okonomiyaki.
Staff were attentive and helpful speaking a little English.
Will gladly stay again. Arigato Gozaimasu!"
"The hotel staff was very friendly and always ready to help when you enter the hotel. They also understands English when my Japanese fails me haha.
They have a coffee machine that one can use once a day behind the staircase.
They also have breakfast in buffet style only for ¥500. I find it quite delicious, you can purchase the ticket at the counter. You have buy in advance as it might run out.
The location is very convenient its less than 5 minutes walk to the closest tram station. It is also close the atomic bomb museum. You can also borrow mama chari(bicycle) from the hotel for up to 4 hours. It is convenient for getting food or go to the peace park.
They have sleepwear and amenities you can take opposite the front desk."
"There was a large public bath, and the breakfast buffet was delicious and included Hiroshima specialties, so I was very satisfied!
The receptionist was also very polite and helpful.
The only thing that was a bit disappointing was that even though I asked for a non-smoking room, it smelled of cigarettes, and the air conditioning didn't work well, so the room didn't get as cool as I'd hoped.
The smell of cigarettes was quite strong even when I was walking down the long hallway."
"Couldn't fault a thing. The room wasn't particularly spacious, but it was impeccably clean. The service was polished and efficient, and the staff's friendly greetings made me feel very welcome. I'll definitely be staying here again."
"The hotel is amazing. They were so friendly, nice and helpful. They made reservations at restaurant that did not have online reservation system on the phone, since we cannot speak japanese. They also helped with everything: e.g. you can buy the cable car day and more days passes there."
"Hotel is nearby Chuden-Mae stop. I got a bigger room for the price of single room and I'm glad I got that. My friend got a single room and she could barely open her luggage. Double room has more than enough space. Very long table for work and stuff. Amenities so-so. No mineral water provided. Room has window but view was of the next building. Hallway outside rooms also had no window. No coffee machine as I recalled. But overall was still a good stay."
"The location of the hotel is ok, within walking distance to the center of Hiroshima.
The price is reasonable, it's clean, and the staff is friendly.
It is close to the light rail station, and you can walk to Hiroshima Bus Center in more than ten minutes. It is very convenient to travel to other surrounding cities."
"Even though it was winter time, the dorm was fully air conditioned all the time which made the staying experience relaxing and worry-free especially at night time. I had good sleep every night. Convenience stores were in walking distance. Best place in the area I would say."
"All three staff members checking in at the counter couldn't even speak simple English. If they couldn't even understand words written down, how could they possibly do their job at the counter? There were a lot of problems.
Most of the staff members guiding and serving in the breakfast restaurant were friendly, but the male staff member wearing glasses standing at the entrance on Sunday morning, April 27th, stood stiffly, didn't say hello, and didn't do anything.
I think it would be better for the hotel to assign this person to a different job. Please make sure to improve this."

Amazing
BBel ZI stayed here solo and absolutely loved the experience. The location is super convenient—just a few minutes’ walk from the station, which made day trips and late arrivals stress-free. The hostel has a warm, minimalist Japanese aesthetic, and the common area is cozy and social without being noisy. Staff were friendly and spoke good English, and the check-in process was smooth. The dorm beds had privacy curtains, reading lights, and lockers—perfect for solo travelers. Everything was clean and well-kept. Highly recommend if you’re traveling alone and want both comfort and convenience.
JJan LowHotel is not big. Room is not big but it is fully equipped. Room looks new n is very clean. Housekeeping though is every 4 days but they provide clean towels n trash bag in plastic bag n hang it at room door. All staff from parking staff, front desk n kitchen staff were all very friendly. English is adequately understood. Mechanical lift car park service is provided by hotel at ¥1000 per day. It was quite nervous to manoeuvre the car into the tight spaced garage. 2nd night, car was mechanically park incorrectly. This part was rather troublesome as the hotel had to call the car lift company to fix the error. Other parking areas nearby available too. Free breakfast at lobby is various types of onigiri, miso soup n 1 more soup (french onion/ mushroom). Location is perfect, short walk to so many restaurants, departmental store, supermarket, convenient stores. First time tried this hotel n it’s really good. Will come back/ will try out their hotels in other cities as well.
GGuest UserThe room is really very big, very novel design, there is a very surprising feeling once you enter. Indoor facilities include a washing machine, cooker, microwave and toaster for families who cook. It is worth mentioning that the laundry detergent and cleaner have a backup replenishment very courteous, if the cleaning details a little more careful will be more perfect. There are many parking lots nearby at very affordable prices, suitable for self-driving people. The location of the hotel is a relatively quiet area, actually less than 3 minutes walk to a very busy area, so the location is really great. I will choose this hotel next time I have a chance to come to Hiroshima again.

MMike IgWe had a pleasant stay at this hotel in Hiroshima. The location is excellent — right in the city center, close to Hondori Shopping Street, several malls, bars, and restaurants. It was easy to explore the city, with the nearest tram station about a 10-minute walk away, offering direct access to the central railway station and other parts of Hiroshima.
We stayed in a Semi Double Room, which was quite compact, and the bed felt a bit narrow for two people. That said, the amenities were thoughtful and well-curated. We especially liked the traditional-style bathroom, as well as the complimentary sheet masks and foot patches — a nice touch after a day of walking around the city.
The staff were friendly and helpful, as you’d expect in Japan. Overall, despite the small room, we had a good experience and appreciated the convenience and service.
AAnonymous UserI recently stayed at Capsule Hotel Cube Hiroshima for a few nights—this was my second visit. Overall, it’s a great place, but a few small issues have started to surface.
Positives:
The staff are wonderful—friendly and attentive.
You receive fresh towels, pajamas, and cleaning amenities daily.
Good location, making it convenient for exploring Hiroshima.
Areas for Improvement:
Limited showers: Only three per floor, shared by many guests. At peak times, you might wait over an hour, and by then, the showers can be a bit dirty (e.g., hair left behind).
Laundry bottleneck: Each floor has just one washer and dryer. The dryer is especially slow—it took four 30-minute cycles just to dry six t-shirts.
Vending machines lack variety: No cola or Pepsi—just beer and water. Not a major issue, but worth noting.
Fridge access is inconvenient: The communal fridge is behind reception, meaning you must hand over items to staff. A small fridge on each floor would be much more practical.
Worn-out mattresses: The memory foam mattresses have sunk in from overuse. They haven’t been flipped or replaced, which leads to uncomfortable sleep and back/hip pain.
Final Thoughts:
Despite these downsides, I would stay here again. However, guests should be prepared for some minor inconveniences. If the hotel made a few simple upgrades—like replacing mattresses, improving laundry facilities, and adding accessible fridges—it could easily be one of the best capsule hotels in Hiroshima.
EEJackaGreat size for a family stay, but cleanliness needs work
We stayed at Nest Hotel Hiroshima Ekimae during our recent trip, and overall it was a solid choice. One thing I appreciated and that lines up with many of the other reviews, is the hotel’s convenient location, just a short walk from Hiroshima Station, and the modern, compact design that works well for short stays.
I was pleasantly surprised by the room size, especially for Japan, it was perfect for me and my two sons. We had enough space to move around and sleep comfortably, which can be rare in city hotels.
That said, I was pretty disappointed with them not having converter plugs and the cleanliness, particularly under the bed. I have bad allergies, and as soon as I laid down, I started feeling them flare up. Later, I dropped an earbud and had to reach under the bed to retrieve it, that’s when I noticed the thick layer of dust and dirt in the areas that aren’t immediately visible. Definitely not what I’d expect from a hotel of this standard.
If they tighten up the cleaning routine (especially in hidden spots), this could easily be a 4 or 5-star stay. Until then, I’d say it’s a good pick for short trips, just maybe pack some allergy meds if you’re sensitive like me.
HHongletianIt is quite close to the commercial area and there are convenience stores around.
The service is OK, but please note that the so-called double room is actually just a big bed.
There is a razor, and you have to check out at 10 am. You will be charged for overtime.
For Hiroshima, it is OK!
GGuest UserFacilities: The room was on the smaller side for two people to move around freely, but having a microwave was a great bonus.
Cleanliness: Standard for a business hotel, with refreshed linens.
Environment: Decent, and the location was superb.
Service: The hot spring on the 10th floor was a pleasant experience, also featuring an outdoor pool and a sauna.
아아산치타I booked this accommodation on a whim, wanting to get away and clear my head. While it's about a 20-minute walk from Hiroshima's downtown area, I used shared bicycles to get around, and with a tram stop conveniently located nearby, transportation wasn't a major issue. Riding a bike along the river was incredibly refreshing and enjoyable. Thanks to booking in advance, I managed to get a great deal on my stay. Although I didn't get a chance to use them, breakfast vouchers were also included. Overall, I think it's a solid choice for solo travelers looking for a relaxed and peaceful getaway.
SSarah H.Location ok, near the tramway, but not the nicest street. The room is very hot, uncomfortable and tiny. And it’s not exactly 2 beds. There’s one double bed and then there’s a very high and uncomfortable stepladder to reach a mattress that is very close to the ceiling. The staff doesn’t speak any English and we had to use Google translation with everyone. We were given the wrong room at first and waited 40 minutes to check-in. The woman didn’t know we had already paid for the room. Then the next day, we asked to leave our luggage before taking the train which they agreed to. And when we returned to gather them, they said they would charge us for this service as we were away for more than an hour. The staff wasn’t very cooperative or nice and wouldn’t let us leave. There is no sign or explanation anywhere about the fact that leaving your luggage is not free. It’s not written anywhere.
