GGuest UserYou might be a little worried if you don't know how to check in until the last minute, and if you don't speak English or Chinese.
When I arrived, the owner was very kind and helped me with a lot of things.
The kitchen window was wide open, so it was a little cold inside the building,
and the bunk beds had no curtains, so there was no private space at all,
but aside from that, the environment was very good.
There were people always occupying the living room and sofa, which are shared spaces, and I'm not sure if they were tourists or related people, but you might find it a little uncomfortable.
There were no particular cleaning rules, which are common in dormitories, and the check-out time was arbitrary, which was nice, so I felt it was a laid-back place that was typical of Chengdu.

JJiangnanyangfengFinding this well-designed hostel in a prime location like Chunxi Road feels like striking gold! The rooms are clean, the lobby is spacious, and there's a big terrace. Plus, the prices are incredibly reasonable! They even provide free drinking water, which is a really thoughtful touch. Whether you're in Chengdu for travel, studies, or a convention, staying here is just perfect (I'll definitely be back often! Haha).

Very warm welcome, they main reception spoke very good English and tried her best to make sure we was comfortable. They helped with everything that we asked of them.
That later that evening hosted a dumpling party, where they taught you how to roll and make your own dumplings, which was amazing!!! She was soo kind in setting this up for everyone without asking for any money. If I ever return to Chengdu I will be staying here for sure!

GGuest UserI was traveling alone and felt that staying in a hotel wasn't very safe and also a bit expensive. This hostel was great! I stayed in a six-person dorm. The staff were all very nice, and it was quiet at night, which was good for sleeping. The hostel's location is also excellent; it's just a short walk over a pedestrian bridge to Chunxi Road. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit!

The bed was actually quite comfy. However, the bathroom has some stains and does not make a clean impression. The shower head was not even adjustable, at least there was hot enough water.
The location of the hostel is unfortunately just between various metro stations so you have to walk 5-10 minutes. Across the street there is a small whole food supermarket and next to the hostel a snack shop which was convenient to start and end the day :)

TtheunaprincessaFirst, shoutout to the staff, because they were all superb, very helpful, friendly, and on top of everything - spoke great English.
The hostel itself has a really nice bar area with daily live music. The cocktails and coffee are amazing, and there are also reasonably priced breakfast options (that I personally haven't tried) that you can enjoy indoors or outdoors. The hostel offers daily activities and access to tours and private drivers, so you may want to check it out before you book yourself for something.
Location-wise, there is a metro stop a short walk away, and taxis never had issues finding the hostel, but you'll always be picked up on the other side of the street. It's within a walking distance from the Wenshu Monastery, and therefore street food area - very convenient.
My room was a four-people bedroom (female only) and the room itself, although small, it was clean. So were the bedsheets. The towels are not provided, so bring your own, but shower gel and shampoo are. Having bathroom inside the room is definitely convenient, but can be a nightmare if your roommates come back and use a hair dryer at 1am. It's not the hostel's fault, but pointing it out as something you may want to consider discussing with your roommates. Each person in the room will have a locker assigned too (mine didn't have a lock, but the others' did, so you may want to check that with the staff. Personally, I wasn't bothered).
There is also a communal fridge and washing machine (for an extra fee) on the second floor.
Overall, I'd say it was a great experience and a nice hang-out spot in Chengdu!

GGuest UserI stayed at Chengdu XiangPi Inn for one night (April 14–15, 2026) and booked a bed in the 6-person male-only shared room. Overall, it was a solid budget-friendly option, but there are a few things worth noting depending on what you’re looking for.
The biggest plus is definitely the price—you get exactly what you pay for, and for a short stay it does the job. The room itself was fairly basic but functional. The bed was decent enough for one night, and the space didn’t feel overly cramped despite having multiple occupants. That said, privacy is minimal, as expected in a shared dorm setup.
Cleanliness was okay, though not perfect. The shared bathroom was usable but could have been maintained a bit better, especially during busier hours. If you’re particular about hygiene, this is something to keep in mind.
The atmosphere was quiet enough when I stayed, and most guests were respectful, which made it easier to rest. Staff interactions were limited but smooth—check-in and check-out were straightforward without any issues.
Overall, Chengdu XiangPi Inn is a practical choice if you’re traveling on a tight budget and just need a place to sleep for a night or two. It’s not luxurious, but it’s functional and reasonably comfortable for short stays.

LLisraekenAt fhe first, I could bot find the hotel, but I talked to the owner and she was so kind and promptly videocalled me and gave me instructions how to get to the hotel which is near to the bus station. The location of the hotel is very convenient, nearby you have a park, many restaurants, pharmacy, bus station. The hotel has some local people many of them were very friendly to me, we shared the food and sit next to each other for some time and talked in chinese. The owner of the hotel can speak English and she will give the clients the best service, she is really outspoken, caring and kind. The bathroom is public, you can share it with others, you can wash your clothes and then hang it. I enjoyed my staying, it is like a dormitory, you have your own bed, but you share the room with the others as the same gender as you.
