Situated within the old town. Filled with food options downstairs. Many stores as well. Touristy place. Don’t expect too much for this price. The general area and room are clean enough. Mattress is thin but didn’t bother me much for my three nights stay. Squad toilet with shower overhead. Small cubicle but enough to move around and does it’s work. Might be hard to find the place, so give the boss a call when you are in the area. He will guide you up this apartment. Stairway is dark and dirty. But then again, for this price. Go with an open mind. Eight person dorm has window that opens out to the outside. Whereas the four person room is much smaller and window opens out to the living room. Btw, the boss stay in the hostel compound too. He’s happy to share his travel stories and recommend places to go.

You might be a little worried if you don't know how to check in until the last minute, and if you don't speak English or Chinese.
When I arrived, the owner was very kind and helped me with a lot of things.
The kitchen window was wide open, so it was a little cold inside the building,
and the bunk beds had no curtains, so there was no private space at all,
but aside from that, the environment was very good.
There were people always occupying the living room and sofa, which are shared spaces, and I'm not sure if they were tourists or related people, but you might find it a little uncomfortable.
There were no particular cleaning rules, which are common in dormitories, and the check-out time was arbitrary, which was nice, so I felt it was a laid-back place that was typical of Chengdu.

Guest UserRight next to Wenshu Monastery subway station, getting around is super convenient. This all-female hostel feels safe and thoughtful, it's clean and tidy, and the facilities are all there. My stay was really comfortable. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit!

XiaofeixiangdexiangInstead of reviewing the hostel itself, I really want to rant about all the 'fairies'🧚♀️ who stay there!!! The bathroom is where all these divinities gather to refresh themselves, and here are the 'refreshment traces':
1. Tissues, face towels, empty disposable toothpaste packets, mask sheets, etc., left haphazardly on the vanity!
2. Shampoo sachets, mask packaging, tissues, etc., casually tossed on the bathroom floor!
3. Makeup or makeup remover waste left randomly at the hairdryer station!
And now for the higher-level 'fairies' and their traces:
4. Leftover excretions in the toilet bowl (I dared not open my eyes! I hope it was just my imagination!)
5. The 'clean freak fairy' used three disposable toilet seat covers plus several tissues (provided by the hostel) to wrap the toilet seat, used it to their satisfaction, and then gracefully departed, without bothering to put the trash in the bin! I'd like to curse you right here: ***!!!
6. Grossly wasting the free tissues provided by the hostel and littering them everywhere!!!
The hostel has genuinely tried its best to provide a convenient and clean space. There are free tissues and disposable toilet seat covers in the toilet, a trash collector right next to the vanity, hand towels provided, and a bin under the dressing table. What the hell???? You all look so glamorous when you step out, but what? Do you reveal your true forms in the bathroom?? Is there some kind of magic spell in there???
I've stayed in many hostels, but this is the first time I'm complaining about the people staying in one—no, these are fairies!!!
Is it really that hard to care for public hygiene?
Is it really that hard to be a decent human being???
Attached are some beautiful photos I took at the hostel, to cleanse your eyes!

Guest UserThis hostel is super close to Taishan South Road subway station, just a few minutes' walk away, making it incredibly convenient to visit Chunxi Road and Wenshu Monastery. The rooms are clean and tidy, the bedding is soft and comfortable, and the common areas are fantastic, with board games and a movie zone, creating a great atmosphere. It offers excellent value for money; I felt comfortable and at ease during my stay.

Zongtu25The location is fantastic, less than a ten-minute walk to Wenshu Monastery, and it's really easy to find. The environment is very quiet, and the beds in the quad room are bigger than dorm beds. There are also dedicated lockers for your belongings, which is a thoughtful touch. The en-suite bathroom has an East Asian style, while the room itself is decorated with a charming wooden, classic touch. The bedding smells lovely, with a subtle floral scent, and there were no hairs or dander – very clean. There's air conditioning and a very responsive hot water system. Most importantly, it's very close to both Wenshu Monastery and People's Park.
This hostel is truly unique! What really captivated me was the cat downstairs; I honestly could spend all day just petting that sweet kitty. I'm very satisfied and definitely planning a second visit in the autumn!

Guest UserThe rooms here are very clean, and the owner does a thorough job with housekeeping. There's a private elevator, which is really convenient for guests to get around. The location is excellent, super close to Chunxi Road. Plus, the sheets and duvet covers were already made, so we didn't have to bother. The service attitude is great, and the quality is high. 👍👍👍

I stayed at Chengdu XiangPi Inn for one night (April 14–15, 2026) and booked a bed in the 6-person male-only shared room. Overall, it was a solid budget-friendly option, but there are a few things worth noting depending on what you’re looking for.
The biggest plus is definitely the price—you get exactly what you pay for, and for a short stay it does the job. The room itself was fairly basic but functional. The bed was decent enough for one night, and the space didn’t feel overly cramped despite having multiple occupants. That said, privacy is minimal, as expected in a shared dorm setup.
Cleanliness was okay, though not perfect. The shared bathroom was usable but could have been maintained a bit better, especially during busier hours. If you’re particular about hygiene, this is something to keep in mind.
The atmosphere was quiet enough when I stayed, and most guests were respectful, which made it easier to rest. Staff interactions were limited but smooth—check-in and check-out were straightforward without any issues.
Overall, Chengdu XiangPi Inn is a practical choice if you’re traveling on a tight budget and just need a place to sleep for a night or two. It’s not luxurious, but it’s functional and reasonably comfortable for short stays.

James0668This hostel is super convenient and easy to find. The staff were really friendly and helpful during check-in. The bunk bed I was assigned was easy to get in and out of, and the bedding was very clean. I was also very satisfied with their bathroom facilities.
