4-Star Hotels in Chengdu

I specifically chose this Hilton Garden Inn for my trip to Chengdu to visit Taikoo Li. The location is absolutely unbeatable – right in the heart of the bustling commercial district, yet surprisingly quiet. This 'peace amidst the hustle' vibe is a huge plus. From the moment I walked in, the service was incredibly warm. The front desk staff were gentle and patient, taking the time to explain local sightseeing routes. Any requests I had were addressed super quickly. The common areas are kept spotlessly clean and elegant; there were no strange odors in the hallways or elevators. The overall atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing, making it perfect for both tourists and those on a short stay. I felt completely at ease and comfortable throughout my entire visit.

The location of this hotel is quite far from Chengdu city center. If you're coming by train, expect to transfer at least twice followed by a 40-minute bus ride. The journey takes you through a large industrial zone, and the area around the hotel feels pretty deserted with almost no shops, restaurants, or attractions. To see anything interesting, you’ll need to take another bus for at least 30 minutes. On the positive side, the lobby is standard and the staff are very helpful and enthusiastic during check-in. They offer a variety of nice, high-quality welcome drinks and hot teas. One odd thing about the lobby is the restroom; it's a single unisex room with a squat toilet. The hotel has 10 floors, with guest rooms on levels 8 to 10. The 7th floor has a great fitness center and a very organized laundry room with plenty of washers and dryers. Breakfast is served on the 5th floor. It’s a decent Chinese-style spread, but you must get there early. If you show up after 9:00 AM, there’s usually nothing left to eat. The hallways are carpeted and don't have any damp smells. Inside the room, the space is surprisingly large—much bigger than average. The air conditioning and heating system is modern, automatic, and very easy to control. The bed is soft and the duvet is clean, though both the pillows and the blanket are a bit thinner than what you’d find in most hotels. Because the room is so big and lacks a refrigerator, it can feel a bit empty. There is a 50-inch TV, but you have to pay extra if you want to watch movies. A nice touch was the heated eye mask provided, which really helped with sleep. The bathroom is a bit of a mixed bag. It has an older style toilet without a bidet hose. While the wet and dry areas are well-separated by a door that seals perfectly, there is a constant unpleasant smell coming from the drains, likely due to the age of the building. They provide all the basic toiletries and towels, but the shampoo and soap labels are only in Chinese, and there are no plastic slippers for the bathroom. The water pressure is strong, which is a plus. One major downside is the noise. The floors are laminate wood, so you can hear every footstep and ”thud” from the room above you. If you have loud neighbors, it can definitely disturb your sleep at night. Overall, it's a decent stay if you don't mind the remote location, but there are definitely some pros and cons to consider.

The hotel facilities are excellent. The front desk staff, especially a young lady with glasses, provided wonderful service. Her colleague, a young man, proactively helped us carry our luggage to the room, which was much appreciated. The courtyard features a fountain, and upon check-in, we received six complimentary snacks. The lobby offers fruit tea and a Hanfu (traditional Chinese attire) experience. They also provided breakfast for our entire group, which was a nice touch. The room was clean, hygienic, and free of any odors, making for a great experience. It's also very close to Kuanzhai Alley. Highly recommended!

This hotel is super close to popular spots like Kuanzhai Alley and Kuixing Street. There are tons of great food options and shops nearby, which I loved! 😋 I really liked the design of the Orange Hotel; the color scheme is quite charming. The front desk staff, especially the ladies, were beautiful and kind, offering warm and attentive service with smiles that brightened my whole day. The room and bathroom designs were very tasteful, with a lovely vintage vibe. The amenities were excellent – a rain shower, smart toilet, and convenient sink. The room itself was clean and tidy, with plenty of natural light. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, and the air conditioning was fresh and quiet, allowing me to get a fantastic night's sleep and shake off travel fatigue. I have to give a special shout-out to the large TV in the room. It has smart screen mirroring, and the sound quality of the speakers was outstanding – listening to music felt layered and立体 (three-dimensional) 👍👍👍. Finally, I really appreciated the thoughtful souvenir gift from the hotel 🎁. Thank you 🙏. I'll definitely choose the Orange Hotel brand again next time!

The first thing I would like to mention is the attentive and friendly staff: reception, at breakfast, room cleaning - everyone was kind, friendly and helpful in everything. We got quick responses to our enquiries on Wechat - in the evening we asked about the use of appliances and a kind lady came and showed us how to use the washing machine and air conditioning. The girl at reception (unfortunately I didn't remember the name, but it's a very nice girl with glasses) always answered any questions we had. Also, she even remembered our parcels from Taobao ordered to the hotel and when she saw us, she told us they had arrived. And then helped us unpack them. You could really feel the care in all the actions. Next is a lovely big room with beautiful decor. The large round bed is cosy and soft and the bed linen is changed on request. Good housekeeping. Every day we had towels changed and bottles of water replenished. In addition, we could always get extra water in the lobby. And noticing that we leave the room later, they did not disturb us early in the morning. The room was quiet! Although there was one day when the tarmac was being laid at night outside with all the accompanying noise, but it really does not apply to the hotel. The air conditioning and fridge worked perfectly. We were pleased with the presence of a mini washing machine (laundry detergent is available and replenished) and steamer in the room - such is not often met in hotels. The hairdryer had good sufficient power. Sockets are universal. A bonus was a large mirror in the bathroom and a full-length mirror in the hall. Also on one of the days we were unexpectedly brought a plate of fruit in the room, it was very nice! The lift to the floors with hotel rooms is operated by guest cards, which guarantees more security. To name things that could be improved, it is a bit dim lighting in the room. Also the tap in the bathroom sink was tight and seemed a little unreliable. We had breakfast included - good, reasonably varied choice of food. The staff are friendly and keep a good eye on everything. They also remembered my preferences: I like to drink tea in the morning - and at one point they themselves came over and asked me if they could make me tea... so thoughtful! There is also afternoon tea with desserts in the lobby. Plus to the above, we like the location of the hotel - convenient, it's in an important central area with lots of shops, cafes, parks around, and metro stations close by. The only thing is, if you're with multiple suitcases, consider that the path itself from the metro is nice but uneven and runs along knobbly tiles and crowded narrow sections. Probably the best option with suitcases would be to take a taxi. Our stay all week was excellent. This is a hotel we would love to return to. Thank you!

I have planned to go to Shouzhuo several times in the past few years, but I missed it because of things. This time the Dragon Boat Festival finally happened. Shouzhuo is located deep in the Bamboo Sea. The roads are easy to walk and the transportation is very convenient, but you have to be careful when you miss the bus sometimes. Once you enter the Bamboo Sea, your mood will become very good, and the temperature is a few degrees lower than in the city. There is no need to turn on the air conditioning in the room, just turn on the fan and it will be cool. The inn has its own parking lot and charging stations. As soon as you enter the inn, you are attracted by the architecture and scenery. It is definitely a good place to relax and unwind. Every step is a view. The room was neat and clean and it was so comfortable. The service is excellent. Every staff member is very enthusiastic and will try their best to meet any request. Any words mentioned unintentionally will be taken seriously by them. In the afternoon, a food box was given for afternoon tea, and in the evening there was rice noodles and fermented glutinous rice as a midnight snack. The breakfast was a customized meal, which was rich and delicious. I made a reservation for dinner and chose a meal price of 200 per person. I must make a reservation one day in advance. It's delicious and the portions are so generous that several tables nearby said they couldn't finish it. There are various activities such as pot throwing and archery in the inn. There is also a rice dumpling making activity on the afternoon of Dragon Boat Festival. You can choose to cook dinner for dinner or take it home. In the afternoon, the staff took us out to go fishing for crabs. The staff brought small buckets and nets to accompany us all the time. Let’s go out to watch fireflies together at 9pm. There will be more fireflies in July and August. At night, you can catch a lot of crabs in the river ditch in front of the inn. With this kind of comfortable life, I plan to stay for a few more days during the summer vacation. The room is very big. The children sleep in the attic and we sleep below. The tatami is super big and suitable for reading and drinking tea. The room is equipped with air conditioners, fans, electric blankets and heaters. I thought the curtains would let light through, but I didn't expect them to be very suitable and I could have a good night's sleep. Eye masks and earplugs are also provided in the room, but of course they are not needed. Summer is here, so the inn can prepare more ice cubes or cold beverages and beers, suitable for everyone’s late-night snacks. All in all 100 points, see you in the summer!

This was my second stay at the hotel, and once again I was very pleased. The room size is generous, and overall it offers excellent value for money. The bed was very comfortable, and since I was on a work trip, I especially appreciated having a proper desk and chair, which made it easy to settle in and work. One thing I particularly value is that the non-smoking floors are genuinely non-smoking—something that can’t always be taken for granted, especially based on some past experiences I’ve had in China. The breakfast was very extensive, with a wide range of options catering to both Chinese and Western tastes. There was a large selection of cooked dishes, as well as Western-style items including bread, butter, jam, cereals, fruits, vegetables, and pastries. Overall, the variety was impressive and generous. From my perspective as a vegetarian who includes dairy, one small improvement would be the addition of cheese, which was missing. I also noticed that, despite the strong Western offering, cutlery was not always readily available and I occasionally had to ask for it. That said, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the coffee was excellent. During my first stay, I also tried the late-night snack option, which I found quite interesting. It mainly consisted of noodles and dumplings, though most options were meat-based. Including a few vegetarian choices would make it more inclusive. A special mention goes to Ryan Jiang, who was incredibly helpful throughout my stay. He assisted me with sending packages via courier, helped arrange an extension when I decided to stay longer, and even upgraded my room and included breakfast when I rebooked. His support made everything smooth and stress-free. I also appreciated the small touches, like having fresh fruit in the room after a long day out. Additionally, I had medication that required refrigeration for the time that I had checked out and until I re-checked ( I had travelled for one day to Chongqing and back), and the concierge team handled this without any issues. When I needed help connecting to the internet, the reception staff responded immediately and went out of their way to assist me—everyone was attentive and eager to help. Overall, this is a hotel I would definitely choose again.

Great room, convenient location! We enjoyed the Sichuan-style buffet afternoon tea for two. The hotel lobby is beautiful, and the room was very pleasant. Plus, the metro is conveniently located downstairs.

Very nice hotel to stay for family vacation. 5-8 mins walk to Chun Xi Road. Lots of food option to choose near the hotel. The hotel buffet breakfast is nice with lots of variety to choose from. The hotel laundry service is excellent and all the staffs are very friendly and helpful. There are 5 dryers on top of 5 washing machines which is very convenient. Highly recommended for all travellers whose would like to visit Chengdu! 😊

I was very satisfied with my stay at this hotel! Having stayed here once, I really don't want to try any other place. From the moment I walked in, the overall impression was fantastic. The service was excellent; as soon as I entered, a front desk lady immediately offered me a cup of Roselle tea, and a good deal of my travel fatigue instantly vanished. The hotel staff were enthusiastic and attentive throughout, always happy to answer questions, and even proactively recommended local hotpot, Sichuan cuisine, 'chuanchuan,' and BBQ restaurants. The room came with two bottles of mineral water, and when I called the front desk for more, it was delivered very quickly – super thoughtful. The toiletries provided were comprehensive, and the shampoo and conditioner had a subtle, high-end woody scent that wasn't overpowering. All were brand-name products. The bathroom was also designed with a wet/dry separation, and the thermostatic shower had incredibly comfortable water pressure with 24-hour hot water readily available. The hotel also offered earplugs, makeup remover wipes, face masks, disinfectant wipes, a free self-service laundry room, and a gym – so no need to worry about not having enough clothes during a long trip. There was complimentary afternoon tea and late-night sweet soup; coming back after a long day of sightseeing and having a warm bowl of congee just made me incredibly happy. Unlimited complimentary mineral water was available on each floor, and also at the front desk. What's more, the hotel even offers free luggage storage after checkout, truly extending their service beyond your departure. The breakfast also exceeded my expectations. The buffet breakfast included both Western and Chinese options, with the freshly made noodles being particularly amazing. There were various whole grains, freshly ground coffee, a wide selection of breads, fruits, hot dishes, and cold dishes. The value for money is excellent. The hotel is located right within the Chunxi Road Taikoo Li commercial district, just a 5-minute walk from Chunxi Road Metro Station. It's only a 10-minute walk to the Panda Check-in spot, and if you want to go to Sanxingdui or the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, you can catch the Chunxi Road Panda bus, which is also a 10-minute walk away. The Wi-Fi speed was smooth, perfect for watching videos on my phone or working on my laptop without any lag. The lobby is decorated in a very trendy style, great for photos, and you can also enjoy afternoon tea there. On hot days, a bowl of mung bean soup feels incredibly refreshing. The overall environment is quiet and not noisy, with excellent soundproofing, so you won't be disturbed at all. It's perfectly suited for both business trips and leisure travel. I highly recommend staying at this hotel!
