🚗For self-driving trips, a hotel with parking is the top choice. This one has parking right at the entrance. The parking lot isn't great, but it's convenient.
🚶 The hotel is conveniently located, just a few minutes' walk from the visitor center, where you can take the scenic bus to the Puhua Underground River. You can also visit the covered bridge and explore the ancient town.
🏠 I stayed in a standard room on the second floor. The beds were one 1.1 meters and one 1.2 meters, not the 1.3 meters listed online. Cleanliness was average, and the room had a slightly musty smell, likely due to the recent heavy rains.
🍽️ There are plenty of restaurants nearby, but I didn't find any good ones. The Qianjiang chicken offal hotpot, at 98 yuan, is actually less expensive than the 58 yuan in the main city. The noodle shop's seasoning wasn't very fragrant, and the mung bean noodles were a bit hard and tough.
📄 Overall, for a one-night stay with no high standards, I recommend this hotel.

Guest UserI had a good stay at Sonderia! I booked a twin room as a solo traveler. The area is close to Wenshu Monastery and takes 10mins to the train station Line 1 but doesn’t feel that far. Bus stops are just in front of the hostel too. The bar area is a great spot to chill at night and meet other tourists.
Nicole at the reception was sooo nice and accommodating!! I was allowed to check out late (2pm instead of 12nn) and she even let me stay at the couch area at the bar so I can rest for an extra hour before my flight. She even bothered to lend me a comforter!! Thank you!! 🤍

Guest UserThis was my first time staying in a hostel, and it was a really satisfying experience. The front desk staff were very friendly, gentle, and attentive. Even the cleaning auntie was lovely; she even offered to show me the way when I couldn't find my room. The overall environment is excellent, whether it's the common areas, bathrooms, or the rooms themselves. As soon as I entered the room, there was a faint, pleasant scent. The bunk bed was also really spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bathrooms even had self-service mouthwash cups, curling irons, and hairspray, which was a nice touch. Plus, my roommates were all very quiet, barely making any noise, whether in the common area, bathroom, or the room itself – perfect for someone who prefers peace and quiet like me. What I think I liked most was the amazing location! It's close to all the attractions, and super close to Jiefangbei. There's also an affordable supermarket right outside the subway exit, making it convenient to buy anything. And it's really close to many of the delicious restaurants I found in my travel guide; many were just a few hundred meters away, which I only just realized were right around here. It's also not far from Guiyang North Station. All in all, a very satisfying stay. I rarely leave reviews, but this time I had such a good experience that I had to write so much!

Dave from SomervilleRoof deck. Amazing large roof deck with amazing large view of the Chongqing skyline. Lucky if you find yourself here. Authentic neighborhood, authentic building, super cheap price for what this place is- a well positioned, homey, comfortable stay with a very friendly host. Chongqing known for confusion with navigation- this place is mad easy- lines up with the cross-river tourist cable car, is 10-15 minute walk to metro stop (Shangxinjie, Line 6. And I think it might have been this metro station that I was able to get a metro card good for near-all cities in China; convenient..) . Pretty much same distance to the bridge to walk over the Yangtze River. Convenient store with fruit at bottom of steps. Plenty of neighborhood restaurants. It was a place I found hard to leave. Lots of stairs in Chongqing.

I had a very pleasant stay at this hostel. The place is clean, safe, and very comfortable, which made my time in Chengdu really enjoyable. The atmosphere is friendly and well organized, and everything was exactly as expected.
I would especially like to thank Zhu Lu, whose service was truly outstanding. Having staff members who speak a very good level of English makes a big difference for international travelers, and Zhu Lu was always helpful, kind, and professional.
Feeling safe, welcomed, and well assisted during a trip is very important, and this hostel definitely delivered that experience.
If I come back to Chengdu, I would absolutely stay here again.
Highly recommended!

The location is great for terminal 2 of the airport (not so much for terminal 3
The bed itself was good quality, with proper privacy curtain, plugs, and a personal light.
The shower toilet was big, and it had a separate wet area so you can keep your stuff in the room while showering.
WiFi was OK.
The windows of the building are terrible, so it was extremely noisy from both cars and planes. It also didn't stop the cold weather, and heating wasn't provided, so it was extremely cold in the room...

Guest UserIt's a bit better than our dorms back in school, still very comfortable. We stayed for about ten days straight, and by the end, it felt just like home – we really didn't want to leave. Out of all those days, only one night was in a room without a private bathroom, but honestly, they were all pretty similar. The living room is great for eating, with sofas and stools, which is really convenient. Plus, they even provide disposable face towels and the toilet paper is decent quality. Overall, I'm very satisfied! Next time I'm in Chongqing, I'm definitely choosing this place again. The owner and the cleaning lady are both lovely.
Just a heads-up for first-timers: when staying in Building A, take the express elevator on the far left to reach the 49th floor.

The room is on the 18th floor, room 1815. The owner responds quickly to messages and is easy to contact. The location is good with many restaurants and a food court downstairs. Several bus lines pass by. Cleanliness is acceptable; the toilet and shower are separate. The room is large and the bed is comfortable and clean.

Guest UserVery difficult to find, it is on the top floor of an apartment building and there are no signs to indicate it is there until you have got out the elevator and walked up 2 flights of stairs. Make sure you reach out to the owner before arriving and he will be able to help you and speaks great English. We didn’t do this and found out the hard way!
Owner was very friendly, able to book trips for us and recommend things to do. In a great location. You get what you pay for, but this was a great budget option!
