We discovered the resort by chance when we wanted to check out the beaches. The beach here is beautiful and very quiet. We were looking for a new resort at the same time and asked here. When we were offered a wonderfully located bungalow on the first row of the beach for 600 baht a night, we didn't think twice. Only then did we see the bad review, but we said we'd take a look at it for a night or two and form our own opinion. We've been here for a week now and will stay for another week. Luckily we didn't see the reviews beforehand. Apparently they took the criticism to heart. We don't have any problems with bugs, noise or anything else. We don't find the hosts to be unfriendly either. They are currently still renovating the bungalows. We have a simple bungalow, but with everything we need. Air conditioning, fridge and a hammock with perfect views over the beach and to the sea. I could certainly deduct points for a few little things, but not for 600 baht right on the beach. For example, the furniture (table and chair) on the terrace is no longer really nice and is rusty. Unfortunately, the WiFi doesn't work, so we use the one in the bar, which is about 50 meters away, which means that the reception isn't perfect either. But it is enough. The doors are a bit difficult to close. The bathroom door cannot be locked. The fridge has seen better days. If the bungalow cost more, none of this would be tolerable, but ultimately you have to put it in perspective. So if you want to spend little money in a perfect location with everything you need for a relaxing stay, this is 100% the right place for you. The town of Shritanu is about 500 meters along a somewhat bumpy path towards the interior. There you will find supermarkets, dozens of restaurants and shops and even a food court with several stalls that offer a wide variety of culinary delicacies. So here too, no wish remains unfulfilled.
