"The hotel was clean and the staff were all very friendly. The location is in a quieter area of the island with a few minutes walk from some local restaurants and the local beach. To get to the main pier and the nearby town area, you either need a book a baht bus (Songthaew) from the hotel (which was about 200THB, so only really works in a group) or hire a moped from the hotel (which was about 300THB for a day). It takes about 10mins by moped. The hotel also has a bar which also has food. There are also two swimming pools. Would recommend this place if you want to have a quieter stay on the Island, but still want a place convenient enough to get to the main pier and town area."

"I liked the hotel, the location is excellent, almost at the end of the beach, so there are no crowds of people or boats, the rooms (houses) are clean, recently renovated, the breakfast is good, the staff is friendly"

"The Hotel is very clean but the rooms are a little bit old kind of. The bathroom needs improvements or a renovation. The is big, coffee, kattle, hairdryer, towels and shampoo and shower gel is provided. Unfortunately the room is really dark, there is a window or glass door to get in, but if your room is at ground floor level, then there is not much sunlight. Location is super! Right in the middle of the city centre and very close to the Beach. The cleaning staff is really friendly, reception stuff is quite slow and not so welcoming. Overall it's a nice location to stay for a few days"

"Very good value for money! Rent your motorbike with them too, can’t get it cheaper anywhere else and it’s very convenient. We got enough gasoline for our entire trip, no worries. Beautiful Sai Keaw beach and 711/Restaurants are within walking distance, use the motorbike for the more remote beaches."

"Beautiful view, peaceful location, good service staff, polite and friendly. The swimming pool is secretly too salty. Beyond the general salt water pool I went down to play for just a moment and my skin hurt a lot. Breakfast options are a little less."

"Our Favorite Island Escape! This was our fifth stay at Vangduen Hotel, and we already can’t wait to come back! It’s the kind of place that never disappoints. In fact, the only sad part is packing up to leave. The location is perfect—tucked away on the quiet side of the island, offering so much peace and natural beauty. The clear, calm water and the soft white sand (honestly, it feels like flour!) make it the perfect spot to relax. Even though it’s peaceful, there’s still plenty to do. There’s a great selection of restaurants, a small shop for anything you might need, and a fun fire show in the evenings. The hotel itself is spotless, well-equipped, and super comfortable. The staff are amazing—so friendly and always happy to help with anything you need. It’s those little things that make each stay so special. We’d recommend this place 100%. In fact, we’ve already booked our next trip in two weeks! Vangduen Hotel really is a gem, and we feel lucky to have found it."

"The hotel is very suitable for vacation, very quiet and relaxing! There is the sea right outside, and there are not many people on the beach, basically all foreigners! The sea water is clear and there are many fish. The jelly sea is so beautiful. If the weather is good, you can see the sunrise when you wake up and open the door! It is far away from the pier and the main road 711. It takes 10 minutes to drive a motorcycle. Disadvantages: The facilities are relatively old, the air conditioning is not good, it can be said that it is basically the same as nothing! It is cooler outside than inside!"

"The hotel looks very beautiful, with small white houses in a well-kept garden. But the room is very simple, so simple that there is no design at all. The hotel service is basically non-existent, and the waiter can hardly speak English. The 3-star service is given to the guy who can't speak English but is very enthusiastic to help with the luggage. The hotel has almost no beach, but you can swim in the sea. The beach only appears for a few hours at low tide. There is some floating garbage in the sea, and no one fishes it out. Instead, some tourists spontaneously fish out the garbage there. Another bright spot is that this hotel actually has a large and clean swimming pool. The price is not expensive, and it is still okay if you don't have too many requirements for the room, beach and service."

"Great location on Vongduan beach. Very spacious , clean bungalows; nice staff; amenitiesare basic but in line with other similar hotels in koh Samet. A reading light would be nice. They explain at check in that room cleaning has to be requested by hanging the sign, you might have to draw the cleaners attention then they will clean the room. Breakfast is ok, mostly Thai options ; a couple of sweets and more choice of fruit would be nice. The only real minus is the rock hard bed, same as sleeping on the floor. They should not allow boats to land at the beach among swimmers, there is a jetty few meters away... better arrange a porter service for those who don't want to carry their bags."

"Nice place to spend with family on weekend if you preferred less crowded and chilled place, they have a nice cafe be sure to check it out in the morning. Restaurant also not bad."
